I met Celia Tandy when I was working at an event in Lichfield a few months ago and her Christmas book ‘The Christmas Secret’ sounded like the perfect, cosy festive story so I had to buy a copy from her. I am so glad I did!
I am not a big romance reader as I am quite fussy about them, so I was a bit tentative at first but I was soon sucked into the book! The writing is very compelling, I found myself thinking that I would just dip in and out of it but I ended up saying to myself ‘just one more chapter’ each time so I raced through it! The writing made me feel relaxed and at ease which was needed over a busy Christmas period!
It is the third book in a series but it can be a standalone. It is set in a small town and is a second chance romance about misunderstandings but with a festive feel good atmosphere surrounding it. There was enough suspense and emotion created between the two main characters of Jack and Lou that it felt authentic. I was completely invested in their story.
The Christmas Secret has a lot of winter charm and humour that makes it the perfect read during Christmas. I definitely recommend it and I will certainly be reading more from Celia!
