Wow, as soon as you read the first chapter, you’re hit in the face, HARD, with a baseball bat. Brutal and tragic…what an opening!!
This is Book 2, following on from the excellent “Retribution” which follows FBI SSA Tucker Petrie, and his team, investigating the murders of several FBI agents. After Tucker narrowly escapes death after his brakes fail, in a high speed car accident, and he and Anna, who is now his wife, and pregnant, avoid being blown up with a car bomb, it’s clear that Tucker is the next target of a serial killer.
This book was suspenseful and gripping, and kept me guessing, AGAIN, throughout. It was great seeing Tucker’s best friend Kella, and her husband Sean again, and meeting members of his new team. I was so excited to hear Book 2 had been released, and immediately went to Amazon, to get my hands on a copy. This was a brilliant book, and I don’t know how PJ keeps us guessing right until the end, but she does, so magnificently. The only reason I didn’t give this 5 stars, is because, I found quite a few grammatical errors, and misspelled words, which is a real bugbear for me, and which Book 1 was devoid of…though the editing didn’t take away, what a superb author of psychological crime thrillers, Peggy Jaeger truly is. I just can’t wait for Book 3.
I’ve loved Peggy Jaeger’s books since the first time I read one, but most of those have been romances. Trust me when I say Vendetta is no romance but still benefits from the genius of this author. It actually starts off with the execution of a killer and what follows is a book that fans of serial killer stories will deem an absolute fantasy. Jaeger has brought back characters, Tucker Petrie and Kella 0‘Brien, from her fabulous book, Retribution, who are now trying to track down the killer of the agents who caught the killer just executed, especially since Tucker appears next on the list. Fast paced, psychologically mind-blowing, and immensely satisfying, Vendetta is a must read. So will her next book in this series which she artfully sets up at the end. Like I said, she’s a genius.
Intense I really liked how Peggy wrote this story, in depth and edge of your seat suspense. I hope we get more like this from her. Kind of reminded me off all the crime shows I watch. Looking forward to what Peggy has coming next
Peggy Jaeger has done it again with a suspenseful and intriguing FBI novel. We begin the story with murder and an execution and then it continues from there. Vendetta can be considered a stand alone novel I found having read the first book Retribution helps you understand the main characters better. I was hooked from page one until the end. Trevor Petrie his wife Anna have become targets of a killer along with his FBI agents and best friend Kelly they are on a mission to find the person responsible. If you enjoy a good suspenseful story this is the book for you.

Perfect for fans of SVU, NCIS, BAU, and Mind Hunter!
Plot: 5 Overall: 5 Mystery: 5
This isn't maybe the gritty, "film noire" gumshoe detective story so many mystery novels but instead Vendetta is a master class in how actions have consequences, all victims of crimes cannot be overlooked, and a delicious deep dive into the criminal mind.
Like in the first book of the series (which doesn't have to be read to follow this one, but definitely adds to the story!), initially we don't know who the perpetrator is, just catch glimpses into their mind.
Even though I had my suspicions of who our final suspect would fall to a little earlier than I would have preferred, I had so much fun mentally catelogging details while reading to see if my hunch paid off!
And, reader be warned: those details matter!! Pay attention as you read because you don't want to miss anything! Mrs. Jaeger has put together one fantastically organized front for you to solve!
Oh! And those consequences? Sometimes they fall like a house of cards... and sometimes like dominoes. Enjoy!
I received this as an advanced reader copy in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.
Once again, Ms Jaeger grabs your attention from the first page and just doesn’t let go. Reading this story is like being in an episode of Criminal Minds, which is one of my favorite shows. There are twists and turns galore that grip and just don’t let go, not to mention a jaw dropping ending that will leave you clamoring for the next in the series! Well done Ms Jaeger, as good as any NYT Bestseller any day of the week!

I absolutely loved seeing Tucker and Anna again and of course Kella and Sean as well, not only to see where they are now since we last saw them, but because they are magic working together. There are plenty of heart stopping moment as Tucker and the gang along with Tuckers team who you could see just why each were hand picked. Having the glimpses from the perspective of evil added to the, well thrill and suspense along with excitement as they team unravel and close in on the answers.

I've read a lot of books written by Peggy Jaeger; she is one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to read more of her books.
This is the second book in the FBI Profiliers Series; it is a stand-alone book. The story is about Kella & Tucker; she is his former partner & best friend. They team up together to find out who’s out to kill him after there are two attempts on his life.
Peggy Jaeger really stepped out of MY comfort zone with this new series. The suspense, the leading you down a dark rabbit hole full of pitfalls and troubles. This is a great continuation of the first book Retribution. Unpredictable, on the edge of your seat, deep secrets, and dark thoughts.
Writing this book was such a joy because I got to revisit Kella and Tucker's relationship. It's always been my goal to show that two peo0ple of the opposite sex can be friends, real friends, without any hint of desire, playing through the relationship. With these two I have done that.
You feel the bond between all the characters. The MMC, Tucker, will protect the ones closest to him before anything else. He has a great relationship with his team of FBI agents but also has a great relationship with Kella, a former FBI agent, that feels like a protective sibling. Kella and his team will do everything to protect him but protecting his family is more important to him than protecting himself. There were twists and turns and an ending I did not see coming. Peggy Jaeger had done it again with this book. I couldn’t put it down and I hope she writes more thrillers!
