There’s only one thing Avery Wilkinson knows for

True love doesn’t last forever.

That’s what being Manhattan’s most sought-after divorce attorney will do to you. Every day she is responsible for untangling the lives of couples who used to be inseparable.

And yet… there’s something deep inside her that never fully lost hope.

Even when her #1 reason comes calling. Brent Calloway. The first man she ever loved.

“You need to come home, Aves. Your sister is missing.”

Avery hasn’t been back to Lake George in 15 years–and for good reason. When your boyfriend gets your sister pregnant, it’s hard to stick around. But with her sister and niece missing, she has no choice but to return to the Adirondacks, working alongside Brent to bring her family home.

What she didn’t expect was that it would lead them to dangerous ties to powerful families… ones who are willing to silence anyone who messes with their perfect façade.

The closer Avery gets to the truth, the more dangerous the threats become. Leaving town might keep her family safe—but it could break her heart for good.

The Return to Lake George is the first book in the Adirondack Nights Trilogy which is an enemies to lovers romantic suspense story which focuses on Avery, who is a divorce attorney in Manhattan, who receives a call from her ex-boyfriend Brent informing her of the disappearance of her sister Lizzie, who has a history of mental illness, and niece Maddie. Brent broke Avery's heart 15 years ago when her sister became pregnant with his child, but she returns to join him to find them. This well written book has complex family issues, mistrust, great characters, and a suspenseful plot which continues in the second book of the trilogy.

Avery is working hard to become a partner in a NY law firm, when she gets a call from the past! Her old boyfriend, Brent, calls and told her he can’t find her sister, Lizzie, but worst yet he can’t find his daughter, Maddie. Both the sister and daughter have disappeared. Lizzie has a history of mental issues. Avery goes to Lake George, a place she said she would never return to! Brent broke her when he had a baby with her sister. Together Avery and Brent work to find Lizzie and Maddie. What will they find? I received a free book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
