About the author

I grew up on a crop farm in Southeast Minnesota, where I learned that every season tells its own story; planting and harvest, hard winters, and the way a community pulls together when times get tough. Those rhythms still shape how I see the world. These days I'm back home in Southeast Minnesota, writing most mornings with coffee close at hand and my dogs keeping watch.
I write the way people talk around a kitchen table: honest, curious, looking for the threads that connect us. My debut historical novel, The Healer's Ground, grew from years of research into frontier medicine and post-Civil War Iowa. It's a story about how communities heal after trauma, and how one traumatized doctor finds his calling by serving others. My speculative fiction (The Go David Chronicles) asks similar questions about identity and belonging, just in very different settings.
I publish through Bright Thread Books, an independent imprint devoted to stories that linger, lift, and maybe change a person a little. That's what I'm after, not just a good read, but something that stays with you.
