Disclosure: I have a piece published in this anthology: "static."
As one of the authors, it doesn't feel right to give this a rating, but I will offer a small review.
This is such a fun collection, featuring a diverse and skilled group of writers, and I am so pleased to be included alongside these names. While the nature of this anthology is surely meant to be a fun and smutty romp, there are really some beautifully crafted stories here. If you have read, thank you! Keep reading and keep supporting small presses!
As one of the contributors, I may be biased. But I think we did a damn good job! There's something in this collection for everyone, from monster-HEA-enjoyers to folks who want something so weird and wildly different that they don't even KNOW they want it until they've read it. I feel very lucky to be among such great writers, and I'm thrilled to share our work with y'all!
What’s that? You want to read a book where a house fucks a guy? Then I got suggestion for you! I cannot formulate words about how HOT and SEXY this collection is! It has everything you’d want! Named accurately since there are a few “screams” in here. In more ways than one😏 Again, can’t formulate words. All I can do is slap a table, look excited, and grab the person beside me while waving the book around.
What an amazing read, this anthology was beautifully curated and covers so many bases from just raw carnality to the most empathetic and romantic and melancholic short stories.
The anthology builds wonderfully upon itself with the flavour of each story building and feeding into the next with a fantastic sort of palette cleanser at the end that'll leave you either cry laughing and oddly turned on or cringing in disgust but you can't stop turning that page.
Would highly recommend, especially if you're a horror film fan.
This collection is so special. I might have a small bias as a contributor but whatever weirdo stuff you're looking for, you will find something that scratches that itch in here. The organization of the stories from happy fantasy to lurid destruction is fabulous and let's everything build beautifully as you read. Special shout outs to my favourite stories: The Red Drake of La Montaña en Llamas, Love Letter from a Human Test Subject, The Devil Tree, and Otherworld Tattoo.
