FATE FELL SHORT FOR ALFIE ANDERSON.He’s thought he'd faced the past, confronted the guilt. Thought he’d done the hard work of starting again. But knowing something and living it are two very different things.
Because when old fears resurface and the future he’s built begins to fracture, Alfie is forced to confront the one question he’s avoided all is he brave enough to stop running?
As family tensions rise and the consequences of earlier choices come full circle, Alfie must decide what kind of man he wants to be - and who he’s willing to fight for.
NOT MIDNIGHT YET is the powerful final instalment in the Alfie Anderson trilogy. A story about love that refuses to fade, forgiveness that isn’t easy, and the quiet courage it takes to choose happiness before it’s too late.
I have been writing now for around 16 months (as of end of December 25)
I have written four books. UNHINGE, FATE FELL SHORT and NOT MIDNIGHT YET are part of a trilogy, while 49 THINGS TO DO WITH DAD BEFORE HE DIES is a standalone story.
I am a teacher of politics to trade at a high school just outside of Glasgow. It is a job I love and have done for close to twenty years, which is scary to write down!
My spare time is spent writing, watching football and going to the movies. However, my favourite thing to do is spend time/argue/ with my daughter, Sophie.
I do love a holiday (they are my vice) and I try to get abroad four or five times a year. I love the Canary Islands and have recently discovered Virgin Cruises, which has been bad for my bank balance.
I hope you enjoy reading my work. I try to write about real life in a way that is relatable, with some humour and leave the reader with something to think about.
What a fantastic way to end an amazing trilogy! loved the book from beginning to end and like all of Craig's books I laughed and cried and laughed some more. This time we dive even deeper into some really hard issues and despite being fortunate enough not to experience some of these situations Craig's words make you feel like your right there with them dealing with it all. Alfie, Niamh and the gang feel like friends now and I'm really going to miss them.
I absolutely loved this. I didn’t want it to end because time in Alfie’s world feels like time spent with people you genuinely care about. Craig Scoular writes with such warmth, humour and honesty, and Alfie remains one of the most believable and likeable characters I’ve read in years. A book that quietly gets under your skin — and stays there!
I love this trilogy (this is the third book after Unhinged and Fate Fell Short). Beautifully written, sad, funny, real. I really came to love the characters. Congratulations Craig Scouler, wonderful books.
At last the final book in this amazing trilogy. Well worth the wait as it certainly didn't disappoint. This book is funny, sad and happy in equal measures. What an emotional journey Alfie has taken us on. Superb trilogy from a very talented young author. Well done and thank you Craig Scoular.
