Tattooed Woman at the Well definitely deviates from the typical story I reach for, yet at its heart is a powerful story for all. Ms. McAdoo's heroine is a tough truck driver with an armor that is hard to look past. But behind it all, is a vulnerable young woman who is looking for a sense of belonging, of value, of unconditional love.
My heart broke as more of Bleu's story was revealed. The various escapades she found herself in will have you alternate between laughter and tears. Life on the road is never dull. Yet it is through a strong mentor that Bleu finds all she is looking for. The power of grace and redemption to turn a life around. This is a story of overcoming grief and finding the triumph that comes when living right. One of the families we make. And most of all, one of hope.

Ever wondered what the life of a truck driver is like? I had no idea these dear people spend days, even weeks away from their families in order to deliver the myriad of things we people need and even have to live in their trucks while they're gone. But now, what would it be like to be a woman truck driver in a work environment made up of predominately men? And what if you (a woman) looked a little different than most women? And what if you were naïve and ignorant about things you should've learned from a mother because you were raised by your grandpa? And is it just possible that there is a God who loves you and wants to know you? Terri Mc Adoo weaves this brilliant story that drew me in from the very first chapter. This is NOT your average Christian Women's Fiction at all!

This book was intriguing. I have not read any stories about female truckers. In this book, we meet Bleu, who is a tattooed truck driver who was maimed and carries the emotional scars from that time. She loves driving her truck, but her boss is intimidating. Bleu has some loyal friends in Nate and Eucene, who encourage her and show her their faith by being good examples. Soon, the three friends become partners in the Woman at the Well Water company. Bleu is sure her troubles are behind her, but her past creeps up again. God shows up though and gives her another chance. Her future looks bright once more.

Quirky heroine

This story of redemption features a heroine who you might be tempted to avoid if you met her for the first time in real life. A wonderful reminder of the value and potential within every person we meet. The power of friends to be an influence for good is portrayed in the pages. Beautiful symbolism of water and living water runs throughout the book. If you like unusual stories and characters, you’ll enjoy this one.
