on the fence
I had high hopes for Max and kept waiting for the moment he would show his OTT love for Bella but it took basically til the epilogue and by then I felt like it didn’t suit him. He was ruthless and cruel to Bella especially the sex scenes which showed him to be a selfish asshole who basically took her so rough and almost against her will, had zero care for her enjoyment and was borderline abusive. For Bella to accept his actions though? I’m so on the fence with this one!.
In saying this it was written so well and you really got an insight to Bella (not a lot of POV from Max) and the way it unfolded was smooth. I would love to read more from Shayne Ford.

When you think it’s nasty and evil, love turns it all around!
Although I found Max to be cold, abrupt, and mean, I also thought he was a very sexy man, who knew what he wanted and went after it. Bella was sweeter than she needed to be, but also stronger than she looked. She needed to be to deal with Max and their arrangement. Once married, I thought Max was horrible! Yet their relationship changed, evolved and she got everything she deserved!
Although I found Max to be cold, abrupt, and mean, I also thought he was a very sexy man, who knew what he wanted and went after it. Mixed feelings
A new to me author and I have mixed feelings about it. I want to be happy for their HEA but I find it hard that he changed as emotionally closed off he was. And, I’m not sure if I would have stayed that the MFC considering what he did on their wedding night.

It was a struggle to finish. Max and Bella are two boring cardboard characters. The first book was pointless and the second was boring. There was no romance.
