When Ellie encounters The Keeper on the shoreline, she’s offered a gift wrapped in shadows, power, knowledge, and a destiny tied to the sea. But The Keeper’s bargain demands more than she’s willing to give.
As Ellie’s life becomes entangled with Clark — the man the curse was meant to destroy — she must choose between obeying fate or defying it. Even if it means unraveling the balance of the curse itself.
Haunting and atmospheric, The Keeper’s Curse reveals the origin of a generational nightmare where love and obsession collide under the pull of the sea.
The Keeper’s Curse is a haunting prequel to Midnight Possession, unraveling the origins of the coastal curse, the mirror, and the woman who ensured it would never die. Twisted, atmospheric, and wickedly dark. This is where the legacy began.
B. Rosenberger is a dark romance and thriller author who believes every love story is better with a little obsession, a haunting secret and a morally gray man you probably shouldn't trust.
She is a Maryland native, caffeine-fueled mom, and a lover of unhinged stories. When she is not writing she is probably re-watching You on Netflix, chasing her baby, driving her husband crazy and playing with her pet corgi and pet rabbit.
The doppelganger legacy gets deeper!!! This book was such a quick, easy read and the perfect follow-up to the author's first book (although you don't have to read them in any particular order). I really enjoyed the spooky, magical vibe throughout the book and learning more about the characters from the first book, Midnight Possession. There were moments when the penny dropped, everything clicked for me, which made some of the characters more personable and understandable. I can't wait for the next install!!
I absolutely love this series, and not to mention the author is so absolutely down to earth and easy to talk to. It's so fun to connect over a place we both know and love!! The Keeper’s Curse completely pulled me under its spell. This haunting second book dives deep into the origins of the coastal curse, the Keeper, and the choices that set it all in motion. Getting Ellie’s backstory was incredibly compelling, especially after disliking her so much in the first book. I hated her guts, so understanding why she is the way she is added so much emotional weight. Learning all about how it all started for her, and how obsession led her to do unspeakable things had me on the edge of my seat.
The atmosphere and setting is where this book truly sets itself apart for me. Ocean City feels alive on the page....the salty air, the sandy dunes, the always present pull of the sea. It creates a chilling, immersive backdrop for a story steeped in ancient things, fate, and dark bargains. It was such an easy, fast read, but was still unsettling and creepy in the best way. I found myself almost afraid to look into mirrors while reading for fear of The Keeper lurking. Twisted, atmospheric, and impossible to put down. The Keeper’s Curse is a wickedly dark addition to the series, and I’m already waiting impatiently to see what comes next.
