This was definitely a surprise Christmas story from Samantha Skye. It was perfect for the holidays, even so it's not quite time for them yet.

We meet Jessica, who is an absolute genius when it comes to finance. She works on temporary contracts for different companies and this time she manages to save Donovan's company from a huge financial loss. But when she finds out that he wants to meet her, because of that, she never imagined that he would be her future. Because Donovan is not an old man, no, no no. He is a handsome billionaire who she cannot resist. When fate is finally bringing two people together, we are here to see it.

When Donovan meets the famous Jay Jay, he never expects that the brilliant person who saved the company will be a woman. A beautiful, smart and brave woman.

With the progress of the story, they try very hard to resist the attraction. But it doesn't work. When it builds up to the point of no return, they finally get together. When they do, it's like a literal inferno. Even though they can get a lot of attention from the world around them, they can't be stopped. They are together and will stay together. I loved their relationship. Donovan is such a sweet man when it comes to Jay Jay. He is caring, thoughtful and absolute protector when it comes to the woman he falls in love with. The sweetest thing — she feels exactly the same to him. She already loves him and she won't stop.

When it came to their love scenes, they were so damn hot. Everything was so passionate and spicy. I loved all the smut and Samantha did a wonderful job writing those scenes 🥵.

From their first encounter to the end, these two showed me they belonged together.

Overall, I loved reading Donovan and Jessica's love story ♥️.

Samantha Skye does it again! This book had everything I love about her writing — tension, chemistry, emotional depth, mystery, and that perfect mix of heart and heat. The story pulls you in right away, with characters who feel real and a romance that builds beautifully.

The thing I love about Samantha Skye’s books (among other reasons) is her incorporation of mystery and drama. I mean, the spice, the connection, the love building, etc… is all sooooo incredibly amazing as well, but add all of that together and you have books that you will not want to put down.

Under the Mistletoe is charming, sexy, and full of that signature Samantha Skye magic that keeps you turning pages way past bedtime.

Oh and the sweet incorporation of the mistletoes’ by Donovan… loveeee!! 🥰🥰😘🥰

Love how both Donovan and Jessica's background are very similar when it comes to the topic of their parents, how driven they are about their work and how it is such an attraction to them both, plus the secondary characters that support our MCs as they face troubles about their office romance.
Loved it! Wanting more for next year!

Now, this is what I would say, your typical billionaire romance novel. A pretty darn good business analyst met her boss and they fell in love at first sight. Their relationship was strong and sturdy from the get go, no silly misunderstanding or ow drama for our couple. It was refreshing to see at least. They didn't play games with each other nor do they fell in to this push-and-pull toxic drama that usually came with the setting.

Like I said, refreshing with a Christmas twist. However, that made the story somewhat boring at times. I think that was the only downfall to this book. Just a low angst kinda read, if that was what you're searching for.

With that said, there was a sexual assault scene on page. Other than that, it was a safe read, from me to you.

We all know Samantha is one of my all time favorite authors so getting another Christmas book from her?! HECKK YESS!!

I loved Donovan and Jessica’s story so much!! The forbidden aspect of boss employee? One of my favs!! The almost instant connection between the two and how they both felt the spark?? Yess!! I loved how Donovan showed his love for Jessica and how they remained such a strong couple the whole book!

There was some suspense in the book that kept me on the edge of my seat! The storyline kept me intrigued from start to end! I LOVED THIS ONE!!

I fell in love with the characters in the story not just the main characters but the side characters as well! Jessica’s aunt and uncle are so sweet and I just want to hug them!!

This was such a good holiday read!!

I’ve been really loving the Whispers series by Samantha Sky, so I was very excited for this Christmas book. But I was very disappointed. I didn’t expect an amazing story that would sweep me off my feet or become my favorite book of the year, but it was just so full of clichés and felt so surface-level that it fell flat. The chemistry between the characters was almost non-existent—no angst at all. Her other series is so good that this truly isn’t a reflection of the author’s talent.

Under the Mistletoe is a wonderful story about a billionaire who meets the person he’s meant for and it just so happens to be the person who saved his company millions🥰

Jessica is working for York Enterprises..her best friend Shelley (love this name hehe) asks her to help her with a project. She streamlines all the companies processes and makes them so efficient, they end up saving millions of dollars. Shelley tells Jessica that the boss wants to meet her. Making her way to his office, it’s clear when he sees her that she’s not what he expected - but also an instant attraction makes its presence known. Soon, they are fighting so many different issues coming at them, but one thing remains the same, their support of one another❤️‍🩹

Loved Donovan and Jessica, this was a great holiday read and definitely let me with the warm and fuzzies - would highly recommend🙌 I received an advanced copy and willingly leave my honest review🌹

Another Christmas story I was looking forward to and it did not disappoint! Donovan wasn’t the typical negative CEO I’ve grown accustomed to regarding Christmas or people and the fact that he wasn’t surprised me. I thought for sure this story would pan out differently than it did. Instead of denying and actively avoiding Jessica like other books would, he acknowledged it but didn’t want to act on it. I’ve seen this before but yet even though he acknowledged it and didn’t want to do something about it, he still actively seeks her out and wanted to be in her orbit. He was drawn to her and wanted to give her chances not just at a new position but with him. You get more vulnerability with him and real moments. He expresses how he feels lonely and is fed up with women using him for their own gains, his money and social media as well as the press. When he meets Jessica for the first time his breath is taken away and he is stunned and at a loss for words. From there it was heated glances, undeniable chemistry and an understanding because they had the same work ethic and could talk about common things for hours, exactly how a relationship should be and starts off. It was lots of fun and the sensuality was off the charts which immediately hooks me. Not only that but I found myself going through this quickly just because I was always itching to see what would happen next and the story had this easy flow that you could understand and get behind. Donovan and Jessica were great people and I loved being in their heads. They had this effortless quality and personality that went with them and the way they fell easily in their relationship after one night together with no regrets or reservations was amazing. After that, Donovan says he’s all in with her which brought up the swoon factor. From there it was chapters of bliss, swoony moments, happiness and protective instincts. Others were jealous of Jessica but she didn’t let it phase her because she trusted him wholly and knew she was lucky. Then let’s not forget the moments she put other men in their place as well as knew how to act when women would try to get inside her head and have her question things. It really was so refreshing to see a woman be able to act like that, others in these type of stories would cower or lose confidence, allowing these other women to get in their head and then you get a break up in the story. This one doesn’t do that, and in fact, Donovan and Jessica were ahead of the backlash and gossip surrounding them that this situation gets avoided completely. It all stems from Donovan putting his foot down and making it known that he and Jessica are together to avoid questions and motives. There is a triggering scene in this book that unsettled me so I just want to also let you be aware of that when picking up this book too. It does play a part in the plot that fades into the background aside from focusing on Jessica and Donovan as it relates directly to their jobs and things people do to come out ahead. Honestly I love that it was Christmas themed but if that’s not your jam, don’t worry because Christmas doesn’t really play a significant part of this book, just the setting and time of year. Overall, great book and worth the wait with a definite 5 star rating.

Samantha Skye is one of my greatest finds of 2025. I am slowly making my way through her books and I've devoured each and every one I've read so far. This one was no different.

It was delicious in all the ways. I love a workplace romance and with the hot Billionaire in Donovan and the brain smart and gorgeous Jay Jay this book is another winner.

Donovan is the CEO of his textiles company and he is keen to meet his finance analyst as she has saved him millions. Jessica, who is known as Jay Jay has never met Donovan face to face and he assumes she is male. But when they do meet he is instantly smitten and in awe of her brains and beauty. He is intrigued by her vintage clothing and style. He offers her a job as advisor but she declines. Taken aback, as he isn't used to be told no he sets out to convince her that she should take the job.

Soon Donovan is tracking her down and she decides to accept his offer. She felt the initial attraction but it scared her. As things develop they discover they work really well together but soon they are falling and falling hard. The tension is built up perfectly.

I love how Samantha combines romance with suspense in her books. There's always an element of mystery and I loved all the drama surrounding their relationship as Donovan is always in the press. It really added to the tension. The other thing I love the most about this author is that she makes her characters communicate and so the relationships feel really mature even if there are age gaps in her books.

She writes such great main characters and you can't help but root for them and fall with them. I absolutely loved both of these characters but don't let it fool you as Samantha can also write some real villains.

I just adore her books and this was the perfect read to get me in the festive spirit. I read it as sthe snow was falling down outside and it made me feel all warm and cosy.

Donovan York and Jessica Johnson stole my heart from the first chapter of this book! Donovan is CEO of his textiles company and wants to meet the finance analyst who has saved him millions- he presumes with a name like Jay Jay that it’s a man until Jessica walks in and steals the actual breath from his lungs! He’s instantly taken with her understated beauty, her vintage designer clothing and her smart brain. He offers her a permanent job and she refuses, in her head it feels dangerous to get too close, she felt the spark too but it scared her how quickly she realised how attracted she was to Donovan.
But Donovan doesn’t take no for an answer and hunts her down at her uncles sprinkler shop where he uses his charm to win her over. And what follows is the sweetest love story of Donovan basically falling at Jessica’s feet at every turn. He’s smitten! completely bewitched by Jessica’s unassuming demeanour. She’s smart and focused and her and Donovan gel so well and align with work ethics and business. Jessica is apprehensive about falling hard for him though, she’s lived a nomadic adult life never sticking with one job- her parents were floaters and never settled, leaving her in the care of her aunty and uncle so she feels like she’s never truly belonged until Donovan shows up and proves he’s all in, right from the beginning.
Then there’s the element of suspense with the sub plot and what Donovan’s biggest rival is doing, which only adds to the storyline. I devoured this holiday romance, it was the perfect way to start my holiday reading, it was sweet, yet spicy and had me desperate to find out how it all ends. Throw in the hot billionaire buying her plastic mistletoe to continue a tradition from her aunty and uncle, said CEO’s obsession with chocolate coffee beans and Jessica’s incredible eye for vintage fashion and you’ve got yourself a brilliant Christmassy read. Loved it.

There are times I wish there were more start to rate books because this one deserves more then 5 stars!!! I read Scrooge last month and fell in love with that books so easily. But this book literally stole my WHOLE HEART!!! If you don't fall in LOVE with Donovan, I would question your sanity! LOL...This man in book boyfriend of the YEAR! Donovan and Jessica were the PERFECT match and I devoured this book so fast!

Donovan is the owner of the York Enterprise where Jay Jay "Jessica" works. She's invisible to everyone and that's the way she likes it. Until the day she is discovered by Donovan and asked to be seen by him. Donovan thinks Jay Jay is a guy based on the name but when he lays eyes on her OH BOY he's a GONER!!! These two have instant chemistry!

Jessica didn't want to take the job that Donovan offers her but the offer is to good to deny. As they work side by side they can't deny this chemistry between each other. Donovan loves her beauty, class, they way she dresses in vintage clothes and how natural she is. So when they get stuck together snowed in one night everything changes.

This is a MUST READ Christmas book! I had such a great time getting to know all of these characters! Most of the side characters were likable. You will not like Donovan's assistant Ashley or Jessica's parents. But other then that the characters were good. This book had me swooning HARD, laughing, smiling like a fool, had a few emotional parts but then Samantha left us with a BEAUTIFUL ending!!!! I HIGHLY recommend this book.

Samantha Skye gave us a perfect present this Holiday season with a new book. Under the Mistletoe is perfect for the holiday season. It takes place around the holiday season and isn’t the main focus of the book, but it’s a nice side to the story. Seeing the billionaire fall fast and head over heels for Jessica “Jay Jay” was amazing to see. He was willing to do whatever it takes to make sure she is safe and protected. It was also great to see her best friend be supportive of the relationship and see that they were good for each other. I also like how he knew how important her aunt and uncle are and made sure to get to know them. I feel like he made a great impression with them because they could tell he really was good and had Jessica’s best interest first.

While her parents were not the best, Donovan made sure she knew how special she was. He also made sure to include the small details she enjoyed from her aunt and uncle's house and put it in his penthouse for her.

If you are looking for a nice four-star read this holiday season, I can’t recommend Under the Mistletoe enough. There was a bit of mystery and spice. The spice for Under the Mistletoe could melt the snow that is piling up outside, as it’s four chili peppers.

4.5/5 stars and Samantha has given us another beautiful story for the festive season. Donovan York is the untouchable billionaire boss whom every single woman would love to nab. But he is 'touched' on first meeting the person known as 'Jay Jay' who he assumed was a male, and had been instrumental in strategising behind the scenes to improving business profitability and outcomes. Because, Jay Jay is Jessica Johnson and she does not 'bow' to his offer of further employment.

Jessica works hard, has brains and beauty, hidden behind glasses and vintage fashion. But, she is nothing like the simpering, stiletto wearing, tight skirt women in the company who hope to get their claws into Donovan, and it is that that attracts his attention. Jessica too feels that connection from their first meeting, but believes he would never feel the same about her, so thwarts is attempt at a permanent job and his 'attention'.

I absolutely feel in love with Jessica and Donovan, and reading how their relationship grew (and the spice that melted 'me') was perfect. As with all Samantha's books the side characters are a major part of this story, and this had me continually turning the pages during parts which had me gasp! Without giving any details away, if you are needing a festive read, with romance, spice, suspense and heartfelt moments, Under The Mistletoe is it.

Another wonderful story from Samantha Skye... a heart warming billionaire romance where there's plenty of drama and a touch of suspense. Even the title of the book, Under the Mistletoe, has such a sweet significance to the story. For this story we're moving away from the Billionaires of Whispers and heading back to New York.

This is the story of billionaire boss Donovan York, the CEO of York Enterprises and a total sweetheart, especially when he meets financial wizard extraordinaire Jessica Johnson, also known as Jay Jay. While this is a holiday romance, this is a romance that starts between Jessica and Donovan months before, and we get to see them gravitate towards each other as the holidays approach.

Donovan is the best kind of billionaire romantic hero. He's fairly uncomplicated, which is good because Jessica has such an interesting background. Donovan, however, is a knight in shining armour. The highlight for me was the Thanksgiving scene that really brought out the best in Jessica and Donovan - it also brought out the best in my two favourite side characters, Jessica's Aunt Vivian and Uncle Bob.

As always there are some clues and connections for the next book coming out by Samantha. I was left with a warm and fuzzy feeling after reading the book. Just so sweet.

This is a Standalone Christmas Billionaire Romance and it is Jay and Donovan’s story and omg it is definitely a must read. This is another amazing story by Samantha Skye who is one of my favourite author and writer and her books always pull you in and have you turning the pages because they are so addictive and unable to put them down. This story is about Jay and Donovan who is worker and boss but they never met until Jay saves the company so much money by streamlining everything so of course Donovan wanted to meet her and thinks that Jay is a man so you can imagine his surprise when she walks into his office and there attraction and chemistry is instant. They have so much in common that it is not surprising how quickly there connection starts to grow but drama, rivals, great hot scenes with sparks flying, good characters, suspense, hope, love and situations that will have you turning the pages and being unable to put this book down as it pulls you in and keeps your attention throughout. I have been lucky enough to have read every single book of Samantha Skye who is a amazing author and writer and she never lets her readers down and I can’t wait to read more of her books in the future.

A fabulous festive romance as billionaire Donovan York meets his new executive Jay Jay Johnson only to be surprised that ‘he’ turned out to be ‘she.’ There was something about the brilliant but introverted Jessica and he instantly began to fall for her. She was so different from the usual supermodels he was photographed with. From her love of vintage clothing to her dedication to business to her love for her family, the more he learnt about her the deeper he fell under her spell.

This pair was just so well matched, initially I’d thought Jay Jay was going to be a bit of a pushover especially when it came to the mean girls in the office but she had a dignity about her as she put them in their places in such a way that they didn’t know what had hit them. Like most people, they underestimated her. With strong underlying plots involving Donovan’s business rival and Jay Jay’s stalker/suitor to bring some suspense to the story, this was my idea of a perfect Christmas read, plastic mistletoe and all. I also loved loved the mention of a certain whiskey and here’s hoping we have not heard the last of this couple and Donovan and Jessica will be popping up in Whispers sooner rather than later.

A holiday romance and with some suspense?! Sign me right up!

This isn’t your typical Christmas romance we have boss/ employee, billionaire, he falls first (and hard!) and it wouldn’t be a Smantha Skye book without a dash of suspense!

I absolutely adored Donovan and Jessica! These two were pure magic together! You know when you just see a couple and you think “yeah those two are meant to be” well that is definitely these two! The way they not only work together professionally but personally as well! Donovan is such a giver and I absolutely loved watching him fall so hard for Jessica! I loved how Donovan was not intimated by Jessica’s brain/smarts but he admired her and treated her like his equal and more! And our FMC Jessica oh I loved her! You want an FMC who is smart, low drama and yet very determined, kind and feels she is for you!! loved her and and honestly would want to be her friend in real life she is fierce about those she loves.

So if you are looking for a short (under 300 pages) holiday read with all the spice, love, banter and suspense this is for you!

Another heartwarming Christmas love story from Samantha. I loved how easy it was to read, sometimes we just want whimsical and love heart eyes.
Donavan was the CEO of his textile company. I liked how he was appreciative of his staff and cares. He also is a bachelor not really looking to settling down, he is too busy with his career.
Jessica aka Jay-Jay, is so relatable. She is my kind of person. Genuine, kind, passionate, patient and her intelligence was admirable.
When Donavan asks to meet Jay Jay the finance analyst that saved him millions, he wasn't expecting to meet a woman haha.
I think it was insta lust that turned into love quite quickly.
Her passion for work matches his and he offers her an executive position, unfortunately this means no fraternizing.
Their connection was easy to fall for, the chemistry, the banter, just everything about them 2 together I loved.
I loved it when they finally said yes!!!! It gets pretty hot after that 🥵.
But life isn't easy in the limelight and there's people out there trying to destroy them. I also enjoyed the added drama and suspense regarding rival company.

Ooh how I have enjoyed this delightful story, it has made me smile so much, Jay Jay and Donovan are wonderful characters and I have loved seeing them come together. I enjoyed seeing her turn his world around, rock at what she does, and seeing Donovan encourage her, support her and protect her. It was through Donovan that she became Jessica to me, still Jay Jay but also so much more. I loved the support of those closest to them, they added to the story, they were people who saw them as them and nothing else.

There were twists and turns in this, things that were hinted at and things that were slow burn, but their love, their openness and honesty with each other, the way they trusted each other and slipped into each other's world was beautiful, and then they created their own one together, one full of shared passions, drive, determination, values, respect, and a world full of special sandwiches, pasta, Saturday routines, chosen family, and of course mistletoe, that world was just magical and I am so very pleased that I have had the pleasure of reading this book.

Wow this book had me in a chokehold i could not put it down. Donovan is your next Christmas book boyfriend. Jessica is insanely smart when it comes to financials and making things run more smoothly in companies. When she started working for Donovan she had it running better in no time. Donovan just had to meet the brilliant JayJay but he never imagined he would be instantly attracted to her. He sees he for more than just her looks he is amazed by her brain and how it works. He decides he has to have her as his secret weapon. As the story progresses we see these two struggle with their attraction and trying to keep things professional. It only takes one snowy night for things to change quickly and the heat burns up the pages. The passion these two had was off the charts both sweet and spicy. The story is at the perfect pace and you will fall in love with these two from the start. While the story is a sweet heartwarming one there is some suspense and you see the protective side of Donovan come out. I loved every page of this book. I was given this book as an ARC for my honest review.

Under the Mistletoe by Samantha Skye is another beautiful book by this amazing author. Jessica is a contracted cost saving analyst who does such an amazing job saving Donovan's textile company millions that the he asks to meet her. Upon meeting her, he is immediately smitten and impressed by her business acumen.. Donovan offers her a fulltime job with a corner office which she does not immediately agree to take. Once she does, the two build a lovely relationship.
Jessica has been raised by her aunt and uncle since her parents were always absent. She has felt like "she was never permanent, never settled, never secure, never wanted or kept". Until Donovan. Turns out they are not so dissimilar. Both of them were left by the people who were meant to love them the most. In each other, they find true love, a little intrigue, and some danger.
There is even nod to Whispers, the whisky making town in Samantha's Skyes's other books.
I highly recommend this book. It is on par with Samantha Skye's other ovels with the best heroes for strong women.

Jessica or Jay Jay is a brilliant business analyst who's got a great reputation of providing solutions to help businesses move forward.
Donovan York is a billionaire CEO and hot single male.
Jay Jay has worked out a Strategy to help Donovan's company but knows she'll have to move on once it goes to the board. her friend pushes her to go meet Donovan to take credit for her work ,he's expecting a man not Jessica there's an instant attraction, but they have to keep things on low to protect each other
she is extremely smart and can predict things he needs such as making sure his coffee bean addiction bowl is always full. his pa has instant dislike and starts gossip trying to discredit Jessica. she does have a stalker who Donovan has concerns about
the attraction between Jessica and Donovan grows as they get snowed in . he also grows close to her family, meanwhile people are trying their hardest to stop.them being together.

it's a good read with twists you may not be expecting too

Oh my god, this book you guys! You need to get your hands on it because trust me you will fall so head over heels for Donovan and Jessica. I couldn’t get enough of these two and I wasn’t ready for their book to end. It was the perfect mix of Christmas, romance, spice and suspense.

Donovan is a persistent man and all he wants is Jessica from the second he laid eyes on her and I just loved getting to read his thoughts and spiralling. This hot billionaire CEO who falls head over heels for the girl who makes him feel more alive and loved than he’s ever felt just had me giddy. I loved that Jessica was the brains behind saving his company, she was such a breath of fresh air, I loved everything about her and her personality. There is so much sexual tension before the thread finally snaps and damn did it heat up, there’s only so much resisting these two can do and the wait is worth it because this man worships her.

Samantha has a way with her writing where you really feel the love and laughter coming through the pages and makes your heart feel warm and fuzzy.

Loved Jessica and Donovan’s story. Loved that Jessica was down-to-earth, smart, and an introvert but she rose to the occasion when faced with new situations. Donovan was smart too. Besides being an ethical and forward thinking businessman, he immediately recognized Jessica/Jay-Jay as someone special. Their story was so real as they navigated the obstacles of not only an office romance but the stress of intrusive paparazzi, jealous co-workers and shady competitors. That Jessica’s aunt and uncle were always there for her (as her parents definitely were NOT), and her lovely, warm relationship with Mabel, just emphasized that blood isn’t the only, or sometimes even the best, determination of who your family is. It’s the family you choose. Such a great read - warmth, steam, support, highs, lows, angst, danger. Loved it!

Another excellent book by Samantha Skye! The story immediately immerses you in the story and was written so well that you do not want the story to end. Jessica Johnson was a contract strategist for York Enterprises and Donovan York was her boss. Jessica tried to keep a low profile but was thrown into the attention of Donovan when she saved the company money. They were attracted to each other but tried to resist it. These two were fire together. I liked that the MCs were both strong characters and supported each other. I thought Jay Jay being mistaken for a man was hilarious. The book described their instalove, smexxy relationship, and how their relationship developed.

The always excellent writing of Samantha Skye was detailed and well-paced. Skye excels at world building. The story was a steamy, emotionally charged romance with humor, drama, and just a little bit of danger. Overall, I really enjoyed the book and definitely recommend it.

I always love Samantha's books because I immediately get sucked in and can't put them down. While this was a great book, I wouldn't necessarily characterize this as a Christmas romance like it's marketed. There are only like a few pages towards the end dealing with anything Christmas-y, but it's still a great full length book. This is a billionaire, workplace, adult contemporary romance between a CEO and his personal business advisor. Jessica and Donovan have an instant connection but play it safe (at first) being co-workers and have a close working relationship. This is also a romantic suspense in the last half and you kind of feel that throughout the book building up because you just know something is going to happen. It kept me on my toes and was interesting, sad at times, romantic and just plain good.
