The forbidden aspect of the romance in this book has gotten old. I've also figured something out about myself throughout my journey with this book. If the forbidden romance doesn't get resolved by the first book, max the first half of the second book, I'm putting the book down. It gets frustrating to a degree that I don't want to have to deal with in the books I'm reading. It only gets worse when the explanation for why it's forbidden isn't even really explained. It's all vague justifications. If you want me to stand behind any of this, you need to explain it in a way that makes me want to care. Otherwise, you're just shooting yourself in the foot.

P.S. If anyone cares enough to enlighten me in the comments on how the forbidden aspect of the mating gets resolved, it would be very welcome. I don't intend to read the next book in this series and I'm very open to spoilers at this point in time

I don’t have words. Devastated. Heartbroken. Destroyed. Okay, so maybe I have three. The Stone Secret drops us right back into Cameron’s story. But now we have more craziness in her way. Serath. Levi and Curi, who I didn’t see coming. Omg, I loved this book but I can’t say more without giving too much away. This book was everything, excellent world building as usual. Debbie never lets you down. I’m just sad I have to wait for book 3. My heart. That ending. I really don’t know how this story will end. I’m not okay.

The first book in this series was maybe one of my favorite books by this author ever. I loved the mythology, I loved the setting and I most of all loved the characters. I was therefore really looking forward to the sequel and I was very happy when I got my arc. However, I've discovered I'm not really enjoying reading on a deadline, so I've been waiting too long to actually start this book. However, a few days ago it was finally time to dive in.

This book picks up where the previous book ended and the highlight of this book is the constant tension between Cam and Serath. I love fated mates, but I love it even more if there is a reason they can't be together and the bond keeps on pushing them together anyway. The emotions are really strong in this book and we feel how desperate they both are to be able to kiss and touch and be together and how hard it is not to be.

I also like the politics in this book and how it takes the entire book before we're starting to understand where the danger is coming from. However, this book doesn't give all the answers yet. It's clear there's more story to come and it's clear that the author made sure to save a lot of information, answers and emotional moments for future books. I might not arc read for those, but at some point I will certainly check them out.

And last but not least, I loved loved loved how some characters are fleshed out in this book. I don't wanna give too much away, but some people are showing their true colors in this novel, some people are changing and growing and some people are discovering that maybe they are not who or what they always thought themselves to be. I think that after this book I might have a new favorite character and I can't wait to see what's in store for them in the next installment!

I absolutely love this book. This series has been a wonderful surprise. Cam is still an amazing character, and with everything being thrown at her left and right? She proves herself over and over again. More surprises came out in this one in more ways than I was expecting. Heartbreak and betrayal are the names of the game and surprise alliances. The queen of cliffhangers is on her game. I am so excited for the next installment

Cam and the gang are back in The Stone Secret, the second book in the Gargoyles of Stonehaven. Cam was hit with revelations that she didn't see coming in book one. Pieces of a complex puzzle are coming together, but the one thing that she didn't have on her "bingo card"? Levi showing up. What's more?! His sire's connection! OMG! Your jaw is going to drop! So brace yourself, and get a forklift to lift it back up. LOL!
Cam is going to have to take some "drastic" steps if she's going to keep her secret of the fated mate bond that she has with Serath. First it's a push and pull of "wait and see and maybe tell." How long does that last? Well...things get complicated...fast!
You can't help but feel for Cam throughout this book. I will say though I love her character development. In book one she was pretty snarky and unapologetic because she rarely saw an issue with her behavior. However, she's showing some serious growth in this book and I appreciated it so much. She acknowledges when she's wrong and apologizes.
Now! If only we can get an apology for the cliffhanger ending that is waiting for you! LOL! This is one of those endings that will have you howling, slapping the arm rests of your chair, standing up in a huff and marching off to bed because of how late it is after you rudely awaken everyone in the house. Wait...too on the nose? Eh. It happened.
This book is going to stick with you. Now, time to watch the clock on when we get to find out what happens next because we need to know!!
Loved this book more than the first. I'll be spinning in my corner until the next one comes out.

The world building in book two continues in book two of the Gargoyles of Stonehaven series and we get to know a little more about the characters. Cam's ex Levi has decided to follow her to the academy, and she needs a cover to get him to back off now she's the fated mate of Serath.

Then there's Derek, sweet boogeyman, Derek who I absolutely adore. His character definitely gets a little more in this story as he changes from what Cam originally thought he was to something more. There characters have all come really far since we met them in the first book, and if becoming an Elite wasn't hard enough, other spanners are thrown into the words for our main character.

If you love a good cliffhanger, then this is definitely one for you. The author, Debbie Cassidy kept the one very close to her belt and I didn't even suspect it was going to go that was as my brain was focused on blaming someone else for what was happening to Cam.

Brilliant book and I can't wait for that one, maybe Debbie Cassidy will be able to give me back my heart after she ripped it out so thoroughly with that ending.

No other author can make me as angry as this author can, but it’s all in a good way. More in a little bit. Serath and Cam are trying to stay away from each other, but when everyone realizes that there is traitor in their midst and must work together, it gets harder and harder. I absolutely love their ill-fated love, and I can’t figure out how this is going to resolve itself. This book is so full of action, betrayal, and wonderful interaction between friends, I couldn’t put it down. When the end came, I was left hanging and not in a good way, so I am angry that I don’t have the next one in the series. LOL! This is a great addition to the first, and I can’t wait to see how Cam is going to handle this. Highly recommend.

Agonizing over that cliffy 😭😭

Wow. I thought book 1 was good but this one was amazing. I was truly shocked the entire time I was reading. I never knew what was going to happen or how the characters were going to turn out. The suspense was impeccable.

Cam has so much growth this book. She was so mature and I loved near the end when she made a realization about Seraph and didn’t punish him, but acted in understanding.

Omg, and some characters had you going, like they were good, but turned bad and some who you thought were bad but are good?! OMGGG.

I’m so sad I have to wait for the next.

no! why?!?

I almost lost it with how this book ended on that cliffy. I so love the stubborn Cameron , she is so fierce. She came up with a fake relationship with Curi so Levi would leave her be. That didn’t work out so well. Every time Cameron and serath are near it breaks my heart how they suffer when they oh so belong together. I knew there would be a mole and of course everyone was blindsided. There are so many things that are discovered in the this book and they are eye openers. I so need to get my hands on the next book!

Another unputdownable must-read! I loved the first book and this one is impossibly even better. Cam and Serath have everything working against them - even faith - and this book is jam packed with action, betrayal, twists and turns and that cliffy had me screaming. I REALLY need the next book yesterday.
You NEED this series in your life, just trust me!
While I wait for the next installment, I'll just see if I can conjure my own little Derek. We all need a Derek in our lives.

Meh

When I reviewed book 1 I gave it a 4 star review because I believe authors deserve a chance to set up the plot, setting, and introduce their characters. However, this is book 2 and I expected so much more. Cameron and Serath might not be able to be together, but the whole thing is a bit ridiculous. I don't understand why one of them would die while the other would go crazy. There's no explanation for that. But what is really confusing is that they can't let anyone know they are mates? Why not. If they have a mate they can't be with, then the best thing to do is keep them apart. There's no explanation for why nobody can know. Well, technically, the author says that the mate would be killed by the council or something? No explanation for why. Again, they could be kept apart if it's so important they not be together. That being said, was anyone else irritated by how often Cameron had "had enough" and was no longer going to let Serath get to her? Yet, every time, she let him get to her. Sure, denying the mate bond was difficult. But if it's too hard then don't say you aren't going to let him get to you and let him do just that. I got really tired of that drama. I understand that it's part of the plot. But its getting old. We've had a couple of scenes with kissing and heavy petting. But no real relationship development. At this stage I think it should be a reverse harem and Levi and Curi should be her lovers. Mate or no mate, Serath is mean and doesn't deserve her.

I think the ending of this book was exciting and I can't wait to see what happens. This book is still only getting 3 stars though for lack of progress in the relationship and very little progress in the plot.

Not sure if this is just me, but the story went quite downhill since the first book.

I just hated the whole push and pull between the fated mates. It's not ever explained why they can't be together, only thing we know is that if they solidify the bond then she'll die and he'll go mad. Literally that's it, and it was explained in the first book. No further explanations in this one.

I'm okay with forbidden love, but this was just getting way too repetitive so it was quite tedious to finish. She says she's done with him, he's acting like a douchebag, then suddenly he's nice to her and she forgives him. Then the boogeyman became his own person/her shield, and also she's now fae. They're just adding new random stuff to the story but not explaining previous ones.

I literally just kept going because of Curi. I most likely would not be finishing the series, but in my mind his ending is a happy one.

DNF 10%, could not keep up with the utter stupidity of this romance for one second longer. To clarify I don't have a problem with romance in books and I enjoy it generally but this one is just too dumb for words.

The first book in this series is quite good and gives me hope that other books from this author might be worth my time. I was excited for the series and then it just absolutely crashed in this book (with hints of this coming in the first) with the ridiculous subplot around the main fated mates.

I HATE when an otherwise strong character becomes completely worthless in the presence of their significant other, and the plot becomes a vehicle for carrying an unbelievable romance pairing. Both the main characters and the plot develop these fatal flaws, so I cannot continue.

The FMC, Cameron, is repeatedly wronged by her supposed mate in book 1 but instead of addressing any of this, she also repeatedly forgives him and just goes on like nothing happened. This is pretty annoying, but I can let it go, because the plot is good and the side characters are engaging. But this book is right away building the whole plot around the inane romance, with the FMC having a fake boyfriend and her mate hulking out about it and uttering melodramatic nonsense about being willing to die and go insane for 'just one night' of being together, going off to kill or beat up anyone who touches her, including people he knows are not interested in her romantically, and other Romeo and Juliet stupidity.

I wonder how this MMC is supposed to be a believable character as head of the elite anything, because he just sounds like a hormonal high school student for most of these 2 books so far. She is not any better. It's just jaw dropping. In the rest of the book they are supposed to be cool-headed military type characters who are part of elite guard units. The reality is they would be almost instantly killed for multiple reasons but mainly for this level of stupidity.

As someone else pointed out, the very dramatic reasons for them not being able to be together are also never actually explained by anyone, which just makes the whole thing feel contrived and like bait for the reader instead of like an actual part of the story. It's just tiresome and unbelievable, and also their actions do not really fit with the actions elsewhere in the story, which makes it even harder to believe. Feels very high school, except I've never known any real life high schoolers to be quite that dumb. Save your time and avoid this one. Too bad because the series had a ton of potential.

Yes! It's finally here. I have been waiting for The Stone Secret for a while and Debbie did not disappoint me. A forbidden mate bond, forced proximity, a few mysteries, found family, and so much more. This book sucked me in and did not let go, I read it in one sitting.

Cam is really showing the full-blooded gargoyles that she keeps up with the best of them especially with her newfound family supporting her and the guardians having her back. I'm rooting for Cam, she has such a big heart it's easy to like her and this book just reminded me of that.

I'm so used to why choose that this book has caused me emotional damage. Levi has shown up at the academy, I enjoyed getting to know him, and turns out I like him. Then there is Cam's forbidden mate bond with Serath. There's so much angst there that it could fill the Grand Canyon, but it's also steamy at times however the emotional turmoil is hard. I feel bad for Levi, Cam, and Serath, they're all in a bad situation and that's not including someone else who has worked his way into my heart. I want Cam to have all three. Dang it.

The plot was great. I loved seeing all the challenges Cam and the gang had to go through, them bonding and helping Cam figure things out was nice. More of the world was explained, apparently, there are a lot of supernaturals and the gargoyles are the police of the supernatural world. The more I get to know about their culture, the more brutal they seem. Cam went through a lot, fighting the mate bond, Levi showing up, classmates that aren't, the best, all of the training, class, and more. I'm surprised that Cam isn't beaten, her love for her brother is keeping her strong. There were a couple of revelations, we get a lot of new info about Cam, a couple of characters go on a journey of growth, and it's obvious now that the enemy is closer than anyone realized. It certainly kept me on my toes, I kept developing theory after theory but I could have expected this.

Debbie is trying to kill me. Complete and utter devastation is what that was. My emotions took a beating with this story and then she ended it with such savagery that I couldn't function for a minute, I went completely offline. What was that!? There was a lot to unpack at the end but The Stone Secret was epic. Freaking epic. However, now I'm going to be stewing in my emotions until the next book. The Stone Curse can't come soon enough.

WOW! I’m always shocked when a book 2 of a series doesn’t suffer the curse of book 2’s where it’s extremely disappointing and flops compared to the first. This book is significantly better than the first. There’s so much interconnectivity, the storyline around Derek has me hooked, you’re questioning so many people for being the mole, and the actual traitor was an absolute shock to me! Like genuinely didn’t think it was gonna be that person even though afterwards it made a bit sense based off their spotlight time in the book (purposely vague, babes).

The yearning and fighting their feelings was multiplied tenfold in this book too. It took a turn I genuinely wasn’t expecting it to take, that almost no book really goes this route with the couples that end up together.

Finding out more about Cam in this book was also interesting. There was so many anomalies, growth, etc. Plus I liked that she’s thriving in the training. And also that she’s not some pathetic FMC like so many get when they’re in love. She definitely has her vulnerable moments but she can also be an absolute bitch. And I love that.

Lastly, the ending was just 🤯 like I’m actually angry that I need to go to bed because I want to start the next book immediately!

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. There were some slips of the tongue about things that certain individuals didn’t know that then weren’t a “wait, what?” moment and definitely seemed like plot holes and/or errors. I also didn’t care for how damn often she got a new schedule change and just kept being added and added. Like does the girl have time to even poop? It just seemed unrealistic and changing constantly. So much more potential with this series, but still really enjoyed where this is going!

Damn, this series is starting to hurt... I have read multiple "forbidden love" stories in the past but this one is really hitting me in the feels. Poor Cam, poor Serath and poor men and women who are drawn to the two tortured souls loving them deeply while these two are suffering so badly. I completely understand why this series isn't why choose, but seriously woman; it hurts! If you're looking for a series to draw you in, knock you in the guts and spit you back out again: this is it people! It's bloody good, but it's bloody painful as well.

With every answer we get, new questions arise in this second book in the "Gargoyles of Stonehaven" series and I really have no clue what to think anymore. Is there light at the end of the tunnel for Cam and Serath? Or are they destined to be the biggest starcrossed lovers on steroids to ever have existed? I don't know anymore; all I know is that I'm desperately hoping all of these characters will have their HEA at some point. Not just Cam and Serath, but all of their new found family members as well. I guess this author has her work cut out for her with spin-offs in the future ;-).

This series is awesome, I absolutely love it, but the pain at the end of this second book is very real...

OMG LOVE!!!

This second book in the Gargoyles of Stonehaven series was amazing! It kicks off right where book 1 ended where Cam’s ex Levi has shown up at the Academy and wants to win her back. He isn’t taking no for an answer since her heart now belongs to her mate, so she has to do something drastic. She has to ask Curi to be her pretend boyfriend to get him off the scent since Levi’s father can't be trusted.

This book ramps up in multiple ways – first, she discovers that her boogeyman, Derreck, isn’t even a boogeyman, but something much, much better – he’s her shield manifested! I love his character so much! But there is someone at the academy who must be a mole since every time she leaves the grounds something goes wrong. Who could the mole be?

Her relationship with her mate, Serath, struggles too when she finds out he does something to try to make her hate him…. Ughhhhh! Although… I’m kinda hoping that this ends up being a RH situation! Lol

I don’t want to give away anything that happens in this book, but I wholeheartedly recommend that you read both the first book and this one! It’s fantastic!!!

I received a free copy of this book via the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.

The story picks up from the first book with Carmon (Cam) preparing for the initiation tests, and is shocked to find that Levi her first love before leaving to enter the academy has followed her. She and Serath are trying to fight the fated mated bond and she can't have Levi find out so she comes up with a plan, to have a fake boyfriend to throw Levi off about Serath. She asks Curi to pretend to be her fake boyfriend to keep Levi from thinking she is still in love with him. Cam's family name is reveled to all and even Levi is shocked at her family name. The development of Derek as Cam's shield, but as an individual in his own right wow! Cam is developing real friendships with her classmates. The challenges Cam and her friends are having to go through, why is it every time they have training away from the academy that something is always directed at Cam even to the loss of one of the classmates? The information given about Cam from her blood test gives more information about who and what she is, and the betrayal of and no I am not going to give you the name, you will have to read the book and with the cliffhanging ending I am having a heart attack. I just hope that next book in the series is out real soon.

Cliffhanger ending…. I need more!!

Okay book two was freaking intense! Intense! The Stone Secret was a shorter story than book 1 but, so much sh*t goes down! First finding out about Levi… (I won’t spoil it) and then finding out who the traitor is that keeps putting Cam in danger (again won’t spoil it) and the ending?! I won’t spoil it lol of course but, at the end of this book something happens in the Cadet trials that is terrifying but, such a good freaking cliffhanger ending. I was shocked!

I will be so sad and upset if this person doesn’t make it. Especially cause it would break my heart for Cameron. But, Cameron? Is a freaking badass and her character development? Along with her friends? The bonds she is making with her fellow trainees that have turned into family is so incredible and has been soooo amazing to read. And Derek? Her shield and best friend… his character is the sweetest thing I’ve ever read and I love their scenes. I just loved this book so much and I’m obsessed with storyline.

Things at the Stonehaven Academy are heating up… I have no idea what book three will entail but, I am ready for it!

Love this series oh so much! ❤

This fated mates book grabbed hold of me and didn't let go!!! Oh. My. Goodness! Buckle up everyone...our beloved FMC Cam is in for some serious trials and tribulations ahead. I'm so shocked at just *how* much was packed into this gem of a read. We have intrigue, suspense, action, heat, and of course a few stubborn males 😉. There's also a few twists and turns, a massive reveal, and a doozy of a cliffhanger... So hold on tight. This ticket was well worth the price of admission! This world is absolutely fascinating and filled with amazing characters. I love how far the characters have come since book one- the bonds of friendship, etc. that they've made. I really became invested in them as a whole. As a result, my jaw was literally on the floor when I read the last words. I for one, can't wait to see what's next in this journey between Cam/Serath and all of their friends. Things are about to get *extremely* interesting!! Two very enthusiastic thumbs up!!

The Stone Secret - Secret Changes

‘He reached up to tentatively cup my cheek. “Hmmmm …” He swept his thumb over my bottom lip, then pressed down slightly, parting my mouth. I tasted him, salty and callused, licked the tip of his thumb, then closed my mouth around it, drawing it in and suckling.’

Half -breed Cameron has many troubling experiences as she is a mate to Gargoyle Serath, yet cannot consummate that mating. As they struggle to stay away from each other, her life is at risk, which makes it harder for those around her. After several deadly attempts to remove her from training, her friends and the initiates she trains with realize that there is a mole helping to cause these disasters.

Along with all of Cam’s for ed drama, in Debbie Cassidy’s The Stone Secret-second book in her Gargoyles of Stonehaven series, her tulpa protector Derek is changing. Throw in the continued jealousy of some of her training peers, and you get an action packed whirlwind of a supernatural romance!

Cam has really found herself in a pickle. The ex, Levi, showed up at the end of book 1 and we start right where that left off. Levi coming into the picture was an absolute shock.
Curi, oh my dear sweet Curi, this goyle is just *chef's kiss* perfection. He seriously redeems himself in this book. Is it wrong of me to like him so much?
The elite team is really working hard to bring Cam up to speed. She is doing so well, her overall growth has been amazing. This girl does not give up.
Sereth.... This one angered me in this book. I get it, I really do, but goodness he needed a slap to the face. I hope we find out why he isn't supposed to mate, it seems like a control thing from the council than a true issue. The utter heartbreak involved is awful.
The ending... well, if you have read this author before, you will know that the cliff comes out of nowhere and smacks you in the face. Every. Single. Time. This was a rough one, I was left stunned and wanting to cry. Book 3 cannot come fast enough!

The second installment of this exhilarating supernatural gargoyle romance series has finally arrived, and it's an absolute doozy! I was completely engrossed in this book and devoured it in a single night. Prepare yourself for a whirlwind of emotions, as this story takes you on a journey from laughter to anger to heartbreak!

Cam and Serath find themselves entangled in a forbidden fated bond, and the struggle to resist their undeniable attraction is palpable. While I had my reservations about Serath's choices and actions, they undeniably contributed to the gripping drama of the story. To complicate matters further, Cam's ex, Levi, reenters the scene, and I couldn't help but cringe at Cam’s fake-boyfriend scheme. With so many potential pitfalls, the tension is mounting.

As if the personal drama weren't enough, lives hang in the balance, and the characters face a life-or-death struggle for survival. And that cliffhanger ending? It left me clamoring for the next installment immediately! I need book 3 ASAP!

This book... I have no words. Definitely did not see that coming. Cam is dealing with all the angst of: having Serath right there in her face but basically out of reach, knowing her brother is out there being subjected to who knows what kind of corruption, warding off the advances of some all powerful evil guy that I have decided in my mind definitely looks kind of hot, and Ms. Cassidy decides that Cam needs that cherry on top of her ex Levi literally showing up on her doorstep looking all googly-eyed.

What is the best solution to her latest problem - let's throw in some other woman drama & a fake boyfriend... *Curi has entered the chat*. At this point I'm just rooting for a RH because there is honestly way too much hotness going around. Let my girl have her cake and eat it too. I wasn't crazy about any on the guys at first, but they have grown on me.

Cam has some unknown secrets of her own that we find out a little about, but all is not revealed yet. I'm going to need this next book yesterday.

This book picks up right where the last one left off. Wholly unpredictable, fast-paced, and kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I definitely devoured this book WAY too quickly and lost way too much sleep reading until 3AM.

Much is revealed in this book, along with so much tension and some character development (especially for Curi and Derek!), and yet there's still so much needing to be resolved. Especially after that ending...I always know to expect a killer cliffhanger with Debbie Cassidy, but MAN this one packed quite the punch. I will henceforth be DYING until I can get my hands on the next book and again read it in one day.

I am SO GLAD I read this series, despite initially raising my eyebrow at the thought of Gargoyle shifters. As with everything, Debbie Cassidy has the BEST, most realistic creatures and worldbuilding, and I am so in love with her take on Goyle shifters in this series. Definitely don't pass on this!!

wow, that cliffhanger is ....... just wow, I just did not see that coming and I don't think I have quite processed it. The betrayal and heartbreak is ..... I have no idea how book 3 is going to look.

The world-building and storytelling are as always brilliant, I was pulled straight back into this story. The group are building bonds and friendships, and Cam is getting to know the Elites when she trains with them.

We get to know a bit more about Derek and why he might be around. I love watching Cam with Curi, he has come so far from when they first met, and now Levi is back, things are looking way more complicated for her. I love the way that Cam has pulled all the recruits together, they arrived looking at each other as competition but now all work together as a team.

The cliffhanger .... you will be cursing Debbie, but in the best way. I really want to know what happens in the next book, how will Cam deal with what has been thrown at her now?

The Stone Secret is book two in the Gargoyles of Stonehaven series where we jump right back into Cam’s story and I can honestly say that I’m not ok! Cam has finally found a family and with their support she is finding the courage to believe in herself. And her love that she has for her brother just keeps her going regardless of all the insane obstacles thrown in her way. The forbidden mate bond between her and Serath literally makes my heart ache and I constantly wonder if they are going to make it through to the end and get their HEA. There are so many twists and turns in the book and the betrayal…good grief. This book as all the emotions and the book ended with me having more questions than I did when I started it. This book ended in pain and I’m ready to get to the 3rd installment where I’m hoping that things start looking up (because I have zero idea where this series is heading). Well done on another amazing book!

Give me a second to catch my breath

It's here! The second book in the Gargoyles of Stone Haven series is here and it's so good! I couldn't wait, and I devoured this book the second I got it.

I love a forbidden love/mate story. Add in Cam's ex showing up, a fake boyfriend, and Serath putting distance and another woman between them, and I couldn't stop reading. I love that Cam holds true to her dedication to her brother. No matter what she is going through she thinks about him and what she needs to do. The same dedication can be said for Derek. He is becoming one of my favorite characters from this author.

Some questions get answered, but even more pop up as Cam just tries to survive. Plus, there is a mole in the academy, and I'm shocked at who it was. But the most shocking thing was that ending. So unfair to leave us on such a dramatic cliffhanger. I need to know what happens next!

The Gargoyles of Stonehaven second in the series delivers even more emotional, tumultuous, moments than the first book! From the start you find yourself pulled into the heated up-down and alternating exchanges as Cameron and Serath must come to grips with their mated bond.
Finding new alliances with the elite members, Cameron tries to deal with her search for Romi, while Serath drives her into frenzied states whenever he appears near her.
Friends of Cam & Serath now assist the two in hiding their mated passions, as they are all too aware that losing Cam at this point in not an option.
Cameron faces one hardship after the next. Her training to become an elite member almost costs her, her lifelong friend Dexter. Dexter, Cam's closet boogeyman is near death as Cam races to save him while keeping the other members of the team from further harm.
The first book is a page turner but this second book is a page burner in more ways than one, and you don't want to miss this ride!

My love for fast burn romances has one nemesis, and that's Debbie Cassidy. The push and pull of Cam and Serath's relationship in Stone Initiation, pales in comparison to the heart wrenching trauma that is Stone Secret. Don't mistake me. There is spice in this book. The kind that will make you squirm. But Cam's past, and Serath's responsibilities are a long way from being solved. Instead, we traverse the unknown, and tricky landscape of backstabbing goyle hierarchy. As with most Cassidy books, the more we find out, the more we realize is still hidden. Stone Secret brings the return of Levi, it solidifies the role Cam plays for the elite team, and is filled with the sort of developing friendships that make Cassidy's heroines actually likeable. At the end of the day, there is a well rounded story and side characters you'll be loathe to leave. Read this one fast, and sit tight for the next one.
