The mob has muscle. The cops have guns. Mason has nothing to lose.

Army veteran Mason Sharpe has found peace in Newark, where employment at a homeless shelter provides an opportunity to serve and maybe a chance to heal. Life isn’t easy, but it’s meaningful, and that’s all Mason is looking for.

Until the dirty cops show up. Mason sees them harassing Vinny, a friend from the shelter with his own troubled past. Mason intercedes and makes it clear—further harassment will not be tolerated.

But then Vinny is fatally stabbed, and the murder weapon is recovered from Mason’s personal locker.

Hunted by police who want him silenced, and stalked by Russian mobsters who want him dead, Mason has no choice but to run. To clear his name, he’ll need to dig into Vinny’s secret life—a trail that leads straight to the heart of a criminal empire hidden in plain sight.

This sophisticated organization is ironclad, infested with killers, and carefully constructed to withstand any attack. But what they don’t know?

Mason cuts with a Razor Edge.

Another thrilling ride for Mason Sharpe, with plenty of action and suspense along the way as the main man takes down the bad guys in his usual style.

This time, Mason finds himself up against Russian gangsters, corrupt cops and corrupt officials at an even higher level, with Mason framed for a crime we know he didn't commit. The pace is relentless, with the overall plot unravelling in a very satisfying way.

Logan Ryles continues to deliver with great consistency and this series is yet to disappoint. Sharpe's character development is the real strength for me, and that's the one thing that really hooked from the very start. Roll on the next one!

Mason Sharpe is back and he still has problems with his car and money. That is not all he has to deal with, working at a shelter for homeless one of them finds himself in trouble. Enter Sharpe. Razor Edge by Logan Ryles is the twelfth adventure with this ex army ranger and detective now on a tour of the US trying to forget what happened with his girlfriend. I found the book different than the others due to that I never seen Mason getting into so much trouble before. Not only is he trying to help others, this time he is actually on the run from a murder charge. The first half of the book builds up to some great action and funny situations in the later part and it was worth it. I must thank Inkubator Books and Netgalley for letting me read this advance copy.

Mason Sharpe Series:
Source: Ryles' ARC team.

RAZOR'S EDGE, #12 - I love this series and the writing style of the author. This addition is pretty intense with interesting characters and intriguing story lines making for an immersing read. 5*

POINT BLANK - I almost stopped reading when man was faster than a bullet out of a gun jammed under his throat. There are a couple more "get real, dude"! Otherwise, I discovered this is an interesting bit of entertainment. Good characters, typical good ol' redneck bubbas, and good story lines. The S&W's fate bothered me, it's not a Glock. 4*

TAKE DOWN, #2 - Immersing and interesting and actually better than Point Blank, which I also liked. Street punk turned Army vet turned police officer suffering the loss of his fiancee, roams the highways in his ole GMC truck. Helping a kid in Atlanta has Sharpe in a whole new can of woes. Good story lines mixed with characters that you either like or hate made for hard to put down entertainment. 5*

END GAME, #3 - This is the third book by Ryles that I have to finish once I start reading. EG is interesting, intriguing and immersing with well written story lines and interesting, good supporting characters. There is violence but not in graphic detail and no profanity. This story takes place about eight months after losing Mia. The continuing original story lines is well blended with the new. Read this in order, although it is not necessary, and Ryles is good about not rehashing the previous books. The ending came too soon but the ride was great. Source: Booksprout and the author. 5*

FIRE TEAM, #4 - Make sure your ducks are in a row and quacking because this is finish in one sitting read. This my favorite genre and this series is one of my favorites. Mr. Ryles always delivers a well written, well thought out and entertaining story. Believable and realistic story lines, characters and action scenes. AI is the feature theme of this story but the elements of hope, suffering, love, grief, patriotism and doing the right thing are always present in each story. The rental choice is hilarious, which opened all sorts of imagined scenarios. 5*

FLASH POINT, #5 - Definitely a fast-paced, entertaining read. Lots of happenings going on and lots of people after Mason; like they say, no good deed .... A variety of characters, interesting story lines, some humor, and that poor truck. No matter what happens to Mason, even after what happens with Mia's Bible, he keeps true to himself. 5*

STORM SURGE, #6 - NOLA. A Cat. 5 Hurricane. Rednecks. A kidnapped, handicapped child. And that's not all that happens in this intense story. Interesting characters and intriguing story lines make this an easy to read, hard to put down, fast paced, action filled read. 15*

STRIKE BACK, #7 - Another good addition to this series. Plenty of action, justice, bad guys, and intriguing story lines with interesting characters set at a good pace. It is always another problem, just when he thinks he sees the whole picture. That poor '69 pickup. 5*

KNOCK OUT, #8 - A whole lot of motorcycle riding and violence. Rather intense throughout with little down time. Good things do happen. 4*

Lethal Action, #9 - I enjoyed every page; the twists and turns, the characters that stood out and the ending of the bad guy. There may be a future for Mason, too. 5*

FULL FORCE, #10 - Immersing. Intense. The typical great characters, interesting and intriguing story lines and a pace that kept me involved until the last page. Mr. Ryles keeps growing as an author with his writing style, storytelling skills and ever evolving depth of knowledge; nuthin' hollywood here, folks. Check out his other series, they're just as good. 15*

WILD CARD, #11 - Oh, that poor truck. Enjoyed another good story but I found the roof scene a bit extreme. 5*

Mason cuts with a Razor Edge.
Logan Ryles delivers another explosive thriller featuring the relentless Mason Sharpe, who once again finds himself up against impossible odds. This time, the stakes are higher than ever. Corrupt law enforcement and the ruthless Russian Mob running illegal sweatshops. Their first mistake? Choosing the wrong man to kill. Their second? Framing someone who refuses to go down quietly. And Vinny? He was hiding a secret that started it all.

This gripping installment is just as electrifying as the last. Packed with sharp writing, non-stop action, and a pace that never lets up. The earlier books are now firmly on my TBR list. Ryles is officially a must-read author.
Thanks to Inkubator Books and Net Galley for the ARC.

Razor Edge by Logan Ryles is the twelfth book in the Mason Sharpe series, and it’s just as fast and gritty as the rest. Mason is a former soldier who’s trying to live a quiet life, working at a homeless shelter in Newark. But trouble finds him anyway when he stands up for his friend Vinny against some shady cops. Things go bad fast—Vinny gets murdered, and Mason gets framed for it. Now he’s on the run, trying to clear his name while the cops and the Russian mob are both after him.

The story moves quick and doesn’t waste time. The action scenes are sharp, and there’s always something happening. Mason’s a good main character because he’s tough but not perfect—he’s haunted by his past, and he still tries to do the right thing even when it costs him. The setting in Newark really adds to the dark, dirty feel of the story.

If there’s one downside, it’s that some parts feel kinda predictable. Like, the whole “framed for murder” thing is something you’ve seen before, and a few parts are a little hard to believe. Mason gets out of stuff that probably would’ve killed anyone else. Some side characters could’ve used more depth too.

Even with that, Razor Edge is still a solid thriller. It’s fast, exciting, and has that classic lone-hero vibe. If you like action books with high stakes and a main guy who never gives up, this one’s worth reading.

Mason Sharpe is a hero that is easy to root for and someone that just seems to fall into the most amazing situations. A former Army Ranger and Detective that has a strong sense of solving problems even with the odds stacked against him.

Working in a shelter while his truck is being repaired (yet again), he befriends Vinny. He senses that something is up with Vinny, but turns out to be much more that he anticipated. Then Vinny turns up dead and Mason wants to know why.

This story has it all...action, good guys, the FBI, getting arrested, the Russians, not knowing who to trust, good cops and bad cops, illegals in a sweat shop and what is with Mayor Greene? Oh, and it is a good thing Mason knows how to swim.

Definitely a page turner. I have read all the Mason Sharpe books and look forward to the next one.

It's another wild ride in the Mason Sharpe series - 12 books already? - so hang on tight! Still in Jersey, living the gritty life doing honest work at the shelter can't keep Mason from finding trouble and not being able to walk away from it. Even with all the personal struggles and narrow escapes he's been through in his trek around the country, it's always in his nature to make sure justice is served, no matter the stakes involved.

Along the way, he's trying to stay alive as Russian mobsters frame him for murder, but as usual, he not only goes against all odds to get under their skin, but makes them pay for their crimes when all is said and done.

It's a pulse-pounding, adrenaline-filled story line that Ryles writing style keeps us invested in, so you won't be able to put this volume down until you come to the satisfying conclusion. In the end, Mason Sharpe comes to a realization that makes us wonder, what's next? I personally can't wait to find out!

The initial premise is strong. Mason is living in a Newark shelter. He witnesses police officers beating a shelter resident named Vinny. Mason intervenes. He rescues Vinny from the corrupt officers.

Soon after, Vinny is kidnapped by private security. He is later found murdered. Mason then starts his investigation. The mystery quickly becomes too large. Mason uncovers high-level police corruption. The plot expands to include slave labour and an illegal sweatshop ring.

The story struggles to sustain itself. The narrative feels laboured and slow. Mason's character is too unbelievable. He operates any complex equipment with no training. This level of versatility severely strains belief. It feels like a stretch for the reader.

Overall, the plot is ordinary and unconvincing. This book fails to deliver. It is best avoided.

As usual Sharpe is helping someone from the very first chapter and is drawn into righting wrongs. This is a little different as Sharpe has to save himself from a false charge of murdering his friend, by corrupt cops. Along the way he gets involved with helping those most unfortunate in life such as the homeless and victims of human trafficking. This is a bad situation for him, and he has to evade and escape a lot. He is a force of nature who just never quits. The finale is extremely tense and dramatic. Loved it. I am wondering where Masons next outing is going to lead him as he goes on his journey for peace. I still think whatever bad guys he encounters had better watch out.

I received an ARC through "Booksprout" and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

This story begins with Mason in Newark when he is doing odd jobs for a homeless shelter. He is in a restaurant while looking outside the window, he sees two cops beating up on Vinnie, a homeless veteran. Mason interferes, but that is just the beginning of his troubles. Vinnie is later found dead and Mason is the prime suspect. In order to clear himself, he now has to discover the killer.

Read along and discover what efforts Mason had to do and what he discovered as a result. See who is behind Vinnie's death and what Mason eventually wound up doing that cleared him.

The story has a great deal of action and the ending is well done. This is definitely a book worth reading, don't miss out!

This author and I just click! I know as soon as I pick up one of his books, I will be swept away by the story of Mason Sharpe playing vigilante on his pulse pounding adventure. Mason can never look away when there is perceived injustice to the downtrodden meaning there is action, mayhem, mystery, good guys vs bad guys.
There is always a very subtle religious flavor since Mason carries and sometimes reads his dead wife’s bible but this story had a slightly stronger tone at the end. It is not really surprising since Mason was helping out at a homeless shelter compliments of the fictitious Ironbound Methodist Fellowship. I just hope this will remain a side note to the story.

Edging Closer To Redemption

Another riveting and deeply moving Mason Sharpe thriller.
Mason is in the Newark area,.working and living in a homeless shelter where he connects with the shelter's non denominational minister/director who shares Bible passages with Mason, that resonate deeply as he continues to find his purpose. Mason is friendly with another homeless who he steps in to defend when he witnesses him being beaten, for no apparent reason, by two police officers.
And the story takes off into non stop intrigue, suspense and murders.
Great characters, as is always the case in Ryles' novels and a story that pulls you right in.
Another Mason Sharpe pure gold winner⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Can not wait for the next one.

PG rated action thriller - a refreshing change

Just finished the 12th in the Mason Sharpe series. What a pleasure to read an action thriller series where there wasn’t one f-bomb. And the hero wasn’t a heavy drinker. Ryles throws in a dose of spiritual truth that develops throughout the series culminating in the hero making a spiritual life changing decision at the final bell. As an ex-cop, recovered alcoholic, and a Christ follower who personally filled the same void - I relate to the journey that Mason Sharpe finally filled. Well done Mr. Ryles. Also appreciated your accurate insight into and use of facts for firearms, bladed weapons and vehicles which made the adventure seem that much more realistic. 5 stars!!

Mason finds himself in trouble after he steps in when two policemen assault a homeless man whom he knows while helping at a homeless shelter. When the man is subsequently murdered, Mason is accused and so finds himself having to clear his name.

It's another thrilling tale involving the Russian mob, illegal immigrants and lots of action all the way through. I enjoyed not knowing who to trust and the shocking reveal of who was the local person behind the scenes. I'm left wondering now what comes next for Mason. Can't wait to find out.

4* Decent episode, but nothing unique about Mason Sharpe.

I've read 2 books on the troy from Inkubator Books, both with a Reacher-type character, just slightly more normal-sized.

It's worth a read, although a certain amount of suspension of disbelief is needed to believe that a non-mountain-size guy can take on all these baddies single-handedly, and with his bare strength stop a shipping container full of illegal immigrants from toppling off a ship. But, he does good, and a LEO type with prejudice ends up with egg on his face, which was quite satisfying.

Excellent addition to the continuing saga of former Special force operative, former detective Mason Sharpe. He’s travelled all over the country with his pickup truck, his violin, his Bible, and his Victorinox knife. In this story we find our hero in New Jersey where he’s accused of murder. While running from bad cops, politicians, and Russians he must find out what is really going on. Mason Sharpes is an ex- Army Ranger and ex-police detective. Now he is a wanderer and what he wandered into could cost him his life or a long prison sentence. He is working in a homeless shelter for room and board and witnesses two cops beating up a homeless man. Naturally Mason had to get involved and put the hurt on the two cops. This is just the opening act. When the homeless man gets murdered, Sharpe is set up to take the fall. This, in turn, leads to human trafficking and the Russian mob. Yikes! There is over the top action in this one and I didn't want to stop reading

"Razor Edge" is a gripping action thriller that hooks readers from the first page and keeps them engaged until the very end. Logan Ryles crafts a compelling story that delves into the gritty worlds of human trafficking and corruption. The characters, led by former soldier and police officer Mason Sharpe, are well-developed, and the plot feels fresh and unique. Dark, thrilling, and inspiring.

This is an exciting action thriller, staring Mason, a one man wonder saving the innocents from the cruel corrupt people. The book is fast paced, action filled and makes me think of a Hollywood superhero action film. Mason is smart, thinks quickly and is passionate about justice especially for the under privileged individuals.

I recommend this book and the series.

Another rip-roaring action packed adventure for the vigilante violin-playing ex cop (Mason Sharpe). Largely set in Newark, Sharpe faces down corrupt cops and city officials whilst also battling a Russian mob specialising in people smuggling and modern slavery. Sharpe uses his multi faceted skills to tackle (and solve) several precarious, intricate, and perilous situations. Ryles provides us, yet again, with a winning script.

Character Development

This 12th book in the series is full of action deftly written to disguise the fact that Mason Sharpe is evolving. Author Ryles takes a cause from the headlines and gives it dignity and meaning. Readers will get the most out of this book by following the entire Sharpe series in order.
