Pack Rule #10 – Keep control of your inner wolf.
I live alone on the mountain for a reason.
I’m dangerous—too strong, too aggressive, too close to feral.
But then she shows up—with sweet curves, sultry voice, and a scent that drives my wolf insane.
A gorgeous human, pouring drinks at Cody’s Saloon and hiding a shattered past behind her smile.
I know the second I scent her—she’s mine. My mate. The one I was made for.
My wolf surges to claim her. But she’s just escaped a controlling ex who tried to silence her music, her voice, her very soul. My alpha instincts are everything she fears–I’m possessive. Dominant. Overwhelming. And she’s terrified of losing her freedom again.
I’ve held back my entire life. From the pack. From power. From the madness in my blood.
But I won’t hold back from her. Not when she’s what anchors me.
I’ll protect her. Please her. Put her music back in the world.
And if she’ll let me, I’ll make her mine—completely.
Even if I have to unleash every dark, dangerous part of myself to do it.

He’s afraid of what he might become. She’s afraid to trust again.

Summer’s trying to rebuild after walking away from a life that nearly broke her. She’s not looking for anyone, just a fresh start. But when Boone walks into Cody’s Saloon, everything shifts. He’s a brooding, reclusive wolf shifter with scars of his own and zero interest in a mate. Until her. And once he sees her, he can’t stay away, no matter how hard he tries.

Their connection is instant and intense, but nothing about it is easy. Summer sets boundaries. Boone respects them. He’s spent years keeping his distance from anything that might trigger the side of him he fears. She’s learning how to be seen without being controlled. Together, they unravel everything they thought they knew about love, danger, and what it means to truly be safe with someone.

When the past comes knocking, they’re forced to face what haunts them most. For Summer, it’s about standing her ground. For Boone, it’s about holding on without losing control. What they’ve built could break or it could finally set them free.

Over time, they shift from guarded and scarred to grounded and whole. Summer finds her voice again. Boone stops running from who he is. What starts as fire becomes a partnership built on real trust, fierce loyalty, and a love neither of them expected but both of them choose every time.

A steamy, fated mates, protective alpha, small town, grumpy sunshine, wolf shifter romance exploring trauma, healing, trust, identity, power, redemption, intimacy, and the choice to stay when it’s easier to run. It’s about reclaiming your voice after being silenced, discovering strength in vulnerability, and learning you’re not too much for the right person. At its heart, it’s about a woman who stops surviving and starts living, and a wolf who learns he’s never been unworthy.

The Elevator Pitch: A steamy, emotionally charged shifter romance where trauma, trust, and desire collide. When a reclusive alpha wolf crosses paths with a woman fighting to reclaim her voice, their bond becomes as healing as it is dangerous. Tense, vulnerable, and deeply intense, their story digs deep and leaves a mark.

This was really good, I loved it…
Boone knew the moment he scented Summer in Cody’s Saloon that she was his mate. He’s so used to living alone on the mountain that his people skills are seriously rusty and when it comes to romance he’s got no game. He’s going to have to figure out how to romance his skittish mate without scaring her away… I received a free copy of this book. This review was posted voluntarily.

PACK RULE #10—KEEP CONTROL OF YOUR INNER WOLF

It is another great addition to the Wolf Ranch Series, and yet, it is a fresh new story with a few people from previous stories. What happens when a human female and male wolf shifter meet by happenstance, and he knows almost immediately she is his mate? And she learns that she has been hurt, afraid, and doesn’t trust easily? Will Boone and Summer find their happy ground?

Boone is a loner, a shifter of great intelligence, who was a Wall Street whiz, but gave up everything to return to Montana and the Wolf Ranch area. He and his two brothers, Roy and Ace, bought up land and made a living. Ace has a Christmas tree farm, Roy does woodworking, and Boone cuts down trees for Roy, plus cuts up wood to sell. They are cousins to Rob Wolf, Alpha.

Summer left her abusive, controlling cop husband in Los Angeles, California, and escaped to snowy Montana. She works at Cody’s Saloon as a barmaid. She is lodging with her friend, Natalie, and mate, Rand. With the support of her friend and other friends she has made, she is slowly coming out of her shell—but is still very cautious. So meeting a six-foot-seven-inch, two-hundred and fifty-pound mountain of a man, Boone, is overwhelming.

“My name is Summer. First rule—no touching without asking permission.”

Boone: Tell me all your rules.
Summer: Rule number two: you have to take no for an answer.
Boone: I promise I will take no for an answer.
Summer: Okay, I give you permission to touch me.

“Okay. You make the rules, baby. I follow them. You’re safe with me. I’ll keep saying it until you believe me.”

The story has the good, the bad, and the ugly in people. Boone is a protector and someone who believes in right and wrong. His father was wrong and pushed him until he had to push back—but he also ended up leaving the pack and moving to New York City. When his client and friend, Sara, tells him about her fear of a musician she rejected to sign, she sees him waiting for her. When Boone goes after him, he is stabbed, but he beats the man—all while protecting Sara, but then he leaves NYC and heads back to Montana.

From the moment Boone walks into Cody’s and catches Summer’s scent, he knows he has found his mate. Being gentle and patient is the key for this human, who he learns has escaped a controlling ex she has filed for divorce from. It will be time before he can learn more about him—but Summer is his main concern—gaining her trust.

I loved the story, the chemistry between Summer and Boone, and how, through Natalie, she understands more about shifters than a human should. Witnessing a shift and knowing Natalie isn’t afraid of Rand helps. Together, Boone and Summer must work through trauma, hurt, relationships, family, and moving forward together. The tale does have moments of life and death danger, protection, survival, forgiveness, healing, and redemption, and acknowledging each other—the yin to the other’s yang.

“I’m yours. You’re mine. This is our beginning.”

Now I am back to my regularly scheduled smut books. This is what this one felt like, pure smut but there was a story in there, albeit not much of one. I think this was my only issue with this book. It felt too much like I was just reading about sex and not enough of a story. The story that did come through in this was good though. You learned why Summer was hesitant with Boone and the demons they each carry, well more so Boone carried the demons that brought on a ton of guilt over what he did. Then you learned about the abuse Summer went through mentally and that affected her with men and her relationships with them, but also with friends. She had a lot of recovering she wanted to still do but also she was halfway there when Boone meets her. I liked how Boone was socially awkward and couldn’t contain his actions or knew how to act in public. He was strictly going by his wolf instincts and didn’t realize that it didn’t fit in society with a lot of people around. He was out of practice with how to act around humans and it was endearing to read about, but I felt his embarrassment and struggle with it. He enlists the help of Cody and Rob to get him through society and it was interesting watching him figure out how to be around Summer and others. There is some kidnapping and some abuse in it which was frightening but brought the drama the book needed. It also could be a trigger so I would approach cautiously with that. I didn’t like what happened but it was a nice reprieve from all the sex. It actually got my heart rate racing for a little bit. The multiple sex scenes did get me going the first few times but then it just became saturated and I didn’t feel anything anymore. Overall, if you want to read something that is 80% spice, desire and smut with about 20% story and are ok with that then this book is for you. I would have wanted more complexity and intensity with it but it was good for what it was. I enjoyed the nuances of Boone’s struggles and how Summer did get him to leave his shell. I also liked how he helped Summer gain back her confidence, light and passion for music and singing but also earning her trust. The growth between the two of them in this story made me happy and I liked how far they came since the beginning of the book. I hope books will be written for Ace and Roy.

Boone is a perfection wrapped in tall, big, strong, sweet, introverted alpha male. He's everything that you need in an alpha,.. did I mention he's a gentleman with a filthy mouth, because that mouth... goddamn. As If he couldn't get any hotter, he asks for permission!! “Permission to strip you bare and fuck you like you need.”🫠

Listen he's everything that our girl Summer needed, to help her bounce back to regain her confidence, feel loved and protected, living freely and happily like she deserved, all while thriving in her career. Boone giving her all of that had me head over heels for him. He's patient(even though his wolf should work better on that😂), considerate and adorable man.

Award to Summer for giving herself another chance and becoming stronger than ever. The way she stood up for Boone and being there for him was absolute perfection because he needed that. He needed to be told being dangerous and protective of his loved ones is okay and that he matters.

The spice? Ohhh, they broke a bed. I'm still stunned🫠❤️‍🔥,, it's hoootttt and intense result of an alpha who has been waiting for his mate almost his entire life!

All that said, if you're Cow boy shifter romance lover you need to read this book. It's addictive, beautiful, and you will be hooked from the first chapter.

Boone knew the instant he caught Summer’s scent at Cody’s Saloon that she was his mate. No question, no hesitation. But Summer? She’s carrying scars. After escaping an abusive, controlling cop husband and fleeing Los Angeles for the snowy refuge of Montana, trust doesn’t come easily to her. She’s rebuilding her life one careful step at a time, working as a barmaid at Cody’s and staying with her friend Natalie and Natalie’s mate, Rand. With their support and the growing circle of friends she’s found, Summer is slowly emerging from her shell… though caution is still very much her armor. Enter Boone. A six-foot-seven, 250-pound mountain of a man who is as intimidating as he is clueless. Once a Wall Street wunderkind, Boone now lives in near-isolation on his mountain, and let’s just say his people skills have not survived the transition. Honestly? His social awkwardness stole my heart. When it comes to wooing a woman, Boone has zero game and that only makes him more endearing. He knows one wrong move could send his skittish mate running, so he has to learn the art of patience, gentleness, and restraint. Watching Boone help Summer reclaim her confidence and rediscover her love of music and singing was incredibly satisfying. He doesn’t rush her or push; he earns her trust piece by piece, proving he’s safe, steady, and worth the risk. And the spice? Woohoo! Let’s just say Boone gives Summer exactly what she needs, and I loved seeing her brave enough to take another chance at happiness. While Boone has demons of his own, shaped by a painful past, I adored how Summer helped him accept that being protective and yes, even a little dangerous, can be a good thing when it’s rooted in love. The way Boone loves Summer is the kind that leaves you starry-eyed and swooning. “All I want is the honor of being your man. I wanna be the guy who makes you happy, keeps you safe, and keeps you screaming all night.” Honestly? Enough said.

This is the first book I’ve read in this series, I’m a big fan of Renee rose’s but Vanessa vale is a new to me author, and I absolutely loved this book, I will be reading the rest of the series that’s for sure, and there’s plenty to read as this is book 10! I think it can be read as a standalone without the need to read the previous books, I managed absolutely fine. You do meet characters from previous books but it doesn’t spoil anything from those books.

Summer flees her abusive husband and files for divorce, going to stay with her friend Natalie and her partner rand. Whilst at work she bumps into Boone, who unknown to her is a wolf shifter and her fated mate. Can Boone break through her walls and show her he can be trusted to care for her and not hurt her? Boone isolates himself from his family and his pack believing he is dangerous to those around him, when he discovers his fated mate working in a local bar, can he overcome his fears and prove to her he’s worthy of her affection. When her past shows up to reclaim her can he protect her and save her in time without being a risk to her?

I absolutely loved Boone, he’s a ott protective alpha to the very core, he thinks it makes him dangerous but it’s only to those who pose a risk to those he loves. He isolates himself as he’s so scared of hurting those around him, when he finds summer he fights his urges and his wolf’s desire to claim her straight away, putting summer and her needs first and working on himself to better understand her situation and feelings. Summer is guarded and wary about Boone at first and the more time she spends with him the more she comes to realise who he truly is and understands him better than he does himself.

I was hooked throughout and read the book in one sitting in under 4 hours! I loved it and can’t wait to read more!.

"Being away from my unmarked mate drove my wolf insane."

I was thrilled when this book was announced because I had read somewhere that the previous book, Ravenous, was the last book in the series, which made me sad. I love this series and wasn't ready for it to end. So, now that we got a new book, I'm very happy and hopeful there will be even more.

I was surprised we had never heard of Boone or his brothers, even one in the past nine books, especially since they are first cousins to the Wolf brothers. Boone is a very interesting shifter. He looks like a giant lumberjack, which is what he is now, but he previously spent years as a hedge fund manager in NYC after graduating from Columbia. He's wicked smart but seriously lacks social skills. I laughed so much watching him try to figure out how to court his tiny human mate.

Summer is a singer from LA and a good friend of Natalie's. She was involved in an abusive relationship with her estranged husband. To be honest, the situation was very similar to the one Becky was in with her estranged husband, Todd, although the resolution was a little different. She also seemed more traumatized by her a-hole ex, Marty. I thought it was so sweet the way Boone went out of his way to reassure her she made all the rules regarding limits, all while never looking less than the strong alpha he is. He was just what she needed to heal and regain her ability to love.

I'm hopeful Boone's brothers Ace and Roy have books coming. And there are still a couple of shifters at Wolf Ranch that need to find their mates. I'd love to see these stories continue. This series is so good.

Dangerous is my favorite of the Wolf Ranch series. I absolutely fell in love with Boone. All shifters are protective, especially of their faded mates. But Boone went beyond. Unfortunately, he reacted to that protective nature in a way that isolated him from everything and everyone. He now chose to live on the mountaintop far away from everyone. That was until the night he found his mate, Summer.
Summer was healing from an abusive marriage and the last thing she needed was a man who wanted control over her. What she perceived as control Boone perceived as protection and love for his mate. When Boone and Summer meet for the first time you could say he came on a little strong. He knew she was his mate but he did not understand humans did not understand what happens when a shifter meets his mate and claims them. She mistook his protective and possessive ways as the same thing she just escaped from with her soon to be ex-husband.
Boone never wanted to control Summer. He wanted to support and protect and love her. Eventually Summer realized the difference between her ex and Boone. Watching her help Boone to realize he was worthy to love to not be afraid he was a feral shifter. But one who protects those he loves, to live with his pack and join in their community instead of alone and isolated.
Boone and Summer together healed each other. Their love was a fated love one that was forever. Whether human or shifter they would love each other and protect each other for eternity. A love story you cannot help but cheer along the way. Showing you what love is all about. Supporting one another loving one another and protecting one another.

Summer wasn’t sure about starting with a new relationship. She just divorced her ex and was working on building back her life. She certainly didn’t expect to be grabbed by a big burly man. Boone could smell her honey scent. She was in Cody’s bar. When he finally found her, he couldn’t help but grab her. What shocked him was that his mate was human. She was fragile. He also knew better them to grab a woman. When she gave him her name and some rules, Boone couldn’t be happier. But he had to treed careful.

Summer is Natalie’s BFF. She had a pretty good idea what Boone was and who all the other members of Wolf Ranch were. But there is a big issue, Boone keeps saying she is his. She just got out of a controlling relationship where she lost herself. She doesn’t plan to go back to that, even if it means letting Boone go. Plus, she once had a chance at singing. You can feel the fear that Summer was going through. She was feeling closed off. She didn’t want to go back. Boone didn’t seem to understand in the beginning. His wolf just felt her and wanted to protect and keep her close. But that was smothering Summer. These two both had baggage from their past. Summer’s was how her ex tore her down and kept her isolated. Boone was a dark secret from the past. I was in tears when Summer started to realize that Boone wanted nothing but to love her and even his protective side. And Boone, you just have to read it. I hope we get stories for his brother’s Ace and Roy.

I loved the sense of anticipation and creativity that Ms. Rose instills into her characters and the storyline. It takes real skill to weave a tale so vivid that I almost believed shifters truly exist. This shifter-themed romance was well written, fast-paced, and action-packed.

One of the biggest reasons I enjoyed this story was the qualities I admired in both Boone and Summer. I loved how protective and possessive Boone was, yet he also nurtured Summer’s creativity and encouraged her to chase her dreams. The contrast between Boone and Summer’s ex was like night and day. Despite being vulnerable, I loved how wholeheartedly Summer accepted Boone’s wolf. She wasn’t afraid, she was curious. And goodness, did she go into overdrive standing up for Boone when facing the pack Alpha. Both of them carried deep emotional scars and faced an overload of obstacles, but together they managed to overcome them.

Summer came to Montana to rebuild her life after a nasty breakup with her husband, a man who destroyed her self-esteem and shattered her dreams. She’s slowly making friends and working at Cody’s bar. It’s not the life she originally planned for herself, and she’s understandably hesitant to start a new relationship with anyone, especially Boone, an antisocial, guilt-ridden mountain of a man who isolated himself from the world… until he scented Summer, his mate. Then all bets were off. To say Boone came on too strong is an understatement. He was like a bull at a gate, yet he respected Summer’s rules and boundaries every step of the way.

This couple overcame Boone’s insecurities and Summer’s traumatic past, and watching their journey unfold made this my favorite book in the series. I savored every emotional minute of it and already can’t wait for the next installment

Pack Rule 10 – keep control of your inner wolf

After an incident in the city, Boone felt he was a ticking time bomb, too aggressive, too intense, and too close to losing control of his wolf so he had sequestered himself away on the mountain, so he could adhere to this strict rule. That was until he caught the scent of his mate, Summer who was working at a local bar. However, Summer had just escaped one toxic and abusive relationship and wasn't looking for another alpha male. To her, Boone was everything she’d just escaped, too possessive, too dominant, and too controlling. Can he tame his wolf long enough to convince Summer to take a chance on him?

I loved how Summer came with her own set of rules, something that Boone respected, letting her set the pace as she worked her way past the remnants of a traumatic marriage. Gradually she came to see his gentleness towards her despite his size and her confidence grew. Summer's journey from a traumatic marriage to finding love with the gentle giant Boone (and his wolf alter ego) was a wild ride. With a healthy dose of steamy romance, suspense, and humour, this book had me hooked from start to finish. Who wouldn't fall for a rugged shifter with a heart of gold? If you're a fan of shifter romances then Dangerous is a must-read - and the Wolf Ranch series, the perfect place to get your fix.

A good one by MeemsAngel82

This was another great addition to the Wolf Ranch series! The writing is great, these authors know how to write and I felt pulled right into the story. I felt empathy for both of my leads and can understand the need they both want for peace and calm. I appreciate their fierce but technically quiet natures and believe that they very much suit one another.

She fled from a bad previous situation, he is back home after trying out a different life from one of family obligations.

I appreciate the relationship these two shared. They each had things to work through and despite their both not being wolves, they are connected on a different level. She did get used to his wolf of course, and I loved that side of him. I love the whole shifter concept and wolf shifters are my favorite shifters so I was pleased to also see some familiar faces though you can absolutely enjoy this one as a standalone. I love, love protective Alphas done right and I loved and felt for his earnest and desperate search for his one. He was a good man and had such fears over what he can do as a shifter. He also believed in her dreams. He is definitely one of the good ones. A sweet and steamy story.

Boone was a reclusive wolf shifter, believing himself to be too dangerous for the town or even his family, doing logging to keep his brother's furniture business stocked and firewood for town's people. He was at an age where if didn't find a mate soon, would be put down for moon madness...but had closed himself off after he beat his father badly when the older man wanted him to fight his cousin Rob Wolf for Alpha of pack and his father wouldn't accept his refusal. Fled to New York, college and Wall Street, not returning until years later...but when delivering load of firewood to Cody's bar in town, scented his mate...a human server at Cody's bar, Summer...but she was on the run from an abusive soon-to-be-ex-husband, and didn't want another possessive or aggressive man...so after Cody's vouching for his character, Summer agreed to let him have a date...and proceeded to rock her world, and giving her delightful experiences in the bedroom she never experienced before...but she is also getting her confidence back, doing the singing and song writing that her ex, Marty said was never good enough...but will this last??? You will need to read to see what happens...I voluntarily read this book through an Advanced Reader Copy.

Dangerous by Renee Rose and Vanessa Vale is a scorching dark mafia romance that pulses with intense power dynamics, forbidden desire, and unyielding possession between a ruthless mafia enforcer and a fierce captive heroine. Their explosive chemistry ignites amid high-stakes danger and twisted loyalty, blending raw dominance with surprising tenderness that reveals hidden vulnerabilities. I loved the authors' seamless collaboration, delivering edge-of-your-seat suspense alongside addictive heat.

Rose and Vale's writing excels at immersive world-building in the gritty underworld, with sharp dialogue, emotional depth, and steamy scenes that heighten the tension without overwhelming the character arcs. The themes of protection and redemption add compelling layers to the high-octane plot.

While mafia captivity tropes are familiar in dark romance, the duo's fresh twists, strong heroine agency, and satisfying grovel elevate it into a gripping standout. Pacing races with action and passion, though a few side plots could have been tightened for sharper focus.

Overall, Dangerous is a thrilling, panty-melting read for fans of dark contemporary romance. I’m rating it 4 stars and recommend it for an intense binge.

A captivating read and a wonderful addition to series, great characters and plot
Summer is not sure about starting new relationship she is only just recently divorced and was extremely surprised to be grabbed by Boone, a big muscled man that has been attracted to her scent like a bee to honey. She was surprised to discover that he had tracked her down by scent alone, she was human which surprised him and when she gave him her name he was over the moon.
Summer is the best friend of Natalie and she knew who Boone was and also who the other members were on Wolf Ranch. Boone is insistent that she is his and is determined she understands but she is wary after what she has previously been through.
In this story it is possible to feel the fear and apprehension she has because of her past history and this is something she needs to get over so that she can continue to actually begin living her life again rather than simply existing. Boone also has his own dark secret from the past and has to be honest about this fact so that they can begin to live their lives.
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the wonderful writing.

After an almost tragedy, Boone left his high-powered Wall Street job for a remote cabin in the mountains of his home town. He is too dangerous to be around society. Now, he spends his days living like a hermit and only leaving his cabin to chop wood.
Summer left her abusive ex and moved to a far away small town. Now, she spends her days waitressing at a bar and trying to heal. She is uncertain of what her future holds, but she does know she can never go back.
Neither expected to find one another. But Boone catches her scent and immediately knows he has found his mate. He must have her. Problem is, she’s human and scared. Can he tame his brutish ways? Can he help heal her heart and help her learn to trust again?
This story touches on not just the physical elements of domestic abuse but the emotional ones as well. This story features an OTT MMC and a strong FMC (even though she doesn’t know it yet.)
I highly recommend this story for mature audiences only due to sexual content and violence. I also recommend making note of the trigger warnings prior to reading this story.

Fleeing from her abusive husband, Summer is doing everything she can to stay hidden—working quietly at Cody’s Bar and crashing at her friend Natalie’s place. A new romance is the last thing on her mind. But when Boone walks into the bar and catches her scent, he instantly knows the truth: Summer is his mate. His intense reaction overwhelms her, and Summer—already on edge—doesn’t know what to make of him.

Once Boone realises how skittish she is, he reins himself in, determined to show her she’s safe with him. With firm boundaries set to protect herself, Summer cautiously agrees to let him into her life. Learning he’s connected to Wolf Ranch helps slowly build her trust. Just as their fragile connection begins to deepen, Summer is kidnapped by her husband, sending Boone into a spiral. Losing her once was unthinkable; losing her now is unbearable.

The question becomes whether Boone and Summer can overcome fear, danger, and the shadows of Summer’s past to claim the future they’re meant to have.

Was gifted an ARC and volunteered my review.

When you know who your mate is….Summer and Boone

Boone had heard all his life you will know who your mate is. Boone had another type of life before joining his brothers in Montana. Roy and Ace (Boone’s brother) have brought land in Montana, and he works with them and for them. He is a loner and sort of an introvert.

Summer has escaped her abusive relationship with her husband. She has moved to Montana from Los Angeles. She has gotten a job as a barmaid at Cody’s and really is not looking for any type of relationship with a man.

Once Boone enters Cody’s and smells Summer’s scent, he knows she is his mate. Both Summer and Boone have baggage from their life that they need to work on. Boone also know he needs to proceed slowly and gently with Summer.

Boone and Summer chemistry and relationships are built on trust, learning one another, communication, learning how to let go of the past, protecting each other and becoming family to each other.

Awesome! I've volunteered to read this book for United Indie Book Blog. Wolf Ranch Dangerous is the 10th book in the Wolf Ranch series by Renee Rose and Vanessa Vale. This is Boone and Summer's story. Summer had a terrible ex and Boone is respectful of her fears and concerns. From the first chapter this novel pulled me right back into this series. Once I started reading I didn't want to put this novel down. Boone scents Summer the minute he walks in Cody's bar. He has waited many years to scent his fated mate and had given up hope. Summer is human, so this made things difficult some and didn't understand scent mating. It will pull you into the story and keep your attention to the story. Couldn't wait to see how it ended. I highly recommend this story for mature audiences only due to sexual content and violence. I also recommend making note of the trigger warnings prior to reading this story. Definitely need to go back and read the rest of this series. Keep up the awesome work!

When Boone left Cooper Valley after a violent altercation with his father at sixteen, it gave him a warped sense of self as dangerous to those around him. After years in New York as a hedge fund manager, he returns home to live a hermet life as a lumberjack. While delivering lumber to Cody's bring him in contact with his fated mate. Summer is an aspiring singer who married the wrong man. He promised her the world then, then abused her and isolated her. When Summer finally decides to leave she winds up working in a bar in Cooper's Valley. A chance meeting at work brings her in contact with Boone who says she is his except she is still married. As they embark on a relationship with boundaries, Boone's feelings of being a danger to those around him surface when Summer's past becomes her present. Overall, this was a fast and engaging read. I cannot wait for the next installment of this series.

I was alive again. She was my reason to live and breathe. She was my sunshine. My music.

4.5 stars

I've read every book in this series so far, and I can say this was one of my favorites! Boone and Summer's story was so different than previous books, and I just loved how their romance played out. I loved Boone's insecurity about his past, his absolute devotion towards his mate, and his determination to be what she needed. Summer was dealing with the remnants of a controlling relationship, and I loved seeing her rediscover her happiness and self-worth with Boone. The storyline was a little predictable, but I enjoyed every word of their HEA and cannot wait for the next book🖤

Tropes: fated mates, he falls first and hard, protective lone wolf hero, heroine-on-the-run, who hurt you?, cowboy shifters, touch her and die, small town vibes, 'you deserve better than me' vibes, mental health rep, found family, STEAMY🔥

4.5 stars. This story is dual POV, well written and edited, and a fast-paced, sweet and steamy, fated mates, small town romance between Boone, the male lumberjack wolf shifter lead, and Summer, the female human waitress lead escaping domestic violence. I enjoyed the way Summer asserted herself and increased in self-confidence throughout the story. I enjoyed Boone’s compassion and care for others, and understood how that had left him feeling like he was too dangerous for civil society. I enjoyed the expedited relationship development and the steamy intimate scenes. I enjoyed the supportive and actively engaged secondary characters and community, with many cameos from previous stories lead characters. I enjoyed the non-romance plot resolution.

I received a complimentary copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Summer has escaped an abusive marriage and moved to Montana for a fresh start. She enjoys her job at the town’s pub, but she doesn’t allow many people close emotionally or physically. When she first meets Boone she believes she should feel fear based on the size difference between them, but he goes out of the way to honor her rules and make her feel safe.

Boone is a shifter who is protective when it comes to those he cares about however he worries that his need to protect could lead to actions that he may regret. He knows from their first meeting that she is his fated mate but that means supporting her by giving her the strength to face her past,

This is a story of healing from the past, both for Boone and Summer, as they understand exactly what the other needs and evolve both as individuals and as a couple.

Boone and Summer ❤️

This was a FANTASTIC story, about two broken people coming together to heal each other. Summer was escaping an abusive marriage and trying to rebuild her life and find herself again. She was a singer, but her ex had squashed her dreams of even trying to make it. Boone was big and burly. He was highly intelligent but lacked social skills due to him isolating himself. He thought he was a danger to others due to his protective nature. It could get out of control. When Boone met Summer, he knew instantly she was his mate even though she was a human and not a she-wolf. A lot of trial and error. A lot of give and take and these two come together. Their hearts heal and mend as they find their happily ever after. I absolutely loved this story. Read it in one day. I’m looking forward to the next book. A+

“Cozy” is not a word I often associate with either Rose or Vale as writers, but danged if they haven’t delivered a truly cozy shifter romance in Dangerous. There’s something special in this offering in the Wolf Ranch series, in part because Summer knows more than most humans about what’s going on with shifters while Boone has lived in such an isolated way that he doesn’t know how to cover his shifter nature as well as others.

This leads to Summer gaining much-needed insight relatively early, while Boone makes a series of rather adorable overreactions to things. The fated-mates aspect works really well with this two. You believe who the villain will be from the start, but Rose and Vale build a twist that made me realize they’d created a rather distinct type of “villainy” in this book. All this leads to a story that’s one of the most endearing in this series.

I really enjoyed this shifter romance. I had not read any of the previous books but each one seems to be a stand alone with the other characters showing up in the book as well. You fall in love with both of these characters. I loved it when he first smelled his mate. You could almost see him going around the bar smelling to find her. When found she had spunk !!! Her rules were funny and watching this big golf become a little pup around her - priceless! Both had ptsd from very bad past experiences and both had to deal with those things. I liked how they - with the help of friends- worked on those issues and trust together. There was danger in the story along with lots of hot bedroom action. Great read a true shifter book.
