Tamara lives with her cocker spaniel, River, in the beautiful city of Calgary, Alberta. When she’s not busy writing the stories of sexy firemen, she can be found with River at the river, writing in her journal, biking, doing yoga, or collecting butterflies and unicorns. She’s a poptart, through and through (think classic Britney, Christina, and NSYNC), a Swiftie, and enjoys country, rock, and a little piano instrumental when she’s trying to focus. Give her a hot man to look at, a book boyfriend to swoon over, and friends to laugh with and she’s set.

Jordan and Liam have been friends for years but have secretly been crushing on each other. Due to a promise they both made to Jordan’s brother, they’ve never crossed the line. Until they both end up in Vegas and they finally give in to their mutual attraction.

But what started as a secret one night stand turns into a secret Vegas fling but as the days quickly pass and their chemistry continues to burn bright, Jordan and Liam quickly realize that what happens in Vegas, doesn’t always stay in Vegas because neither one wants to say goodbye.

This reformed playboy Hero falls hard for his best friend’s sister once he lets his guard down but past trauma has made him cynical when it comes to love so Liam becomes his own biggest obstacle when it comes to pursuing his own happiness. I felt for him when he shared his past with Jordan and my heart broke when Nate confronts him because it brought back all his insecurities and doubts. But I loved that he was able to heal enough to be honest within himself and with Jordan.

Jordan’s fresh off a 5 year relationship with an abusive and manipulative serial cheater. Even after all the chaos she lived through, she still retained her hope of finding her own special someone and never gives up on finding true lasting love. She just never thought Liam would be that person. But the more time she spends with him, the more she starts to feel like her old self. I loved that she was able to reclaim her self worth and her peace.

The conflict between Nate, Jordan and Liam was not what I was expecting and it felt a bit cliche how he confronted them. Much like Jordan, I didn’t understand how he could love and respect his best friend one minute but completely flip out and become a different person when said friend because interested in his sister. Granted Nate’s misjudgment doesn’t last long but it still felt unnecessary. The ending also felt very rushed with the revelation of Liam’s mom.

Overall a good read if you like the reformed playboy trope, a forbidden romance/secret relationship and a down bad Hero who falls hard.

“You’re the most special thing I’ve ever laid eyes on, Jor. You make my world light up. You make everything dark seem manageable. You are everything I didn’t know I wanted and needed.”

Favorite Bits:
🖤 Liam’s nickname for Jordan, Fireball :)
🖤 When he presents his very first girlfriend
🖤 Jordan’s personality of equal parts sweet and sassy.

I will forever and always have my bullhorn ready for anything Tamara writes and sends my way...and Liam and Jordan were no different!! Watching these two start off as a Vegas fling then turn into something more was everything I never knew I needed.
Working with Jordan's brother at the firehouse puts Liam in the 'no go' area when dating comes in to play. But that's okay because he's a playboy anyhow and ya know...cynical to say the least. Past trauma can do that to a person. I loved watching this man start off with a 'therapy' suggestion and then heal thru the story with Jordan by his side. He was his own worst enemy at points but in the end became the best version of himself with Jordan. And just like the rest of Tamara's guys..he's so down bad for his woman, there's no question where his heart lies.
Jordan...this girl. Even with everything she had been thru with her douchecanoe of an ex, she still had faith in true love and finding the person who she's meant to be with. Just as much as Liam heals...Jordan starts to relearn herself and heals with Liam by her side. She finds peace and what she wants and who she is and what she deserves. It's heartwarming and I love her.
Thank youTamara Rene for these two. For all the fun moments and laugh out loud moments and balancing them out with the heartfelt and healing. The character growth arc was phenomenal. I'm always down to read about best friend's sibling. These two were just what the other needed and they crossed the lines at just the right time even if they weren't aware of it. Thank you for this little found family that you're creating and the world you're building.
