A TIME-TRAVEL THRILLER THAT ADDS A FEW DIFFERENT TWISTS AND TURNS THAT WILL BLOW YOUR MIND

☆☆☆☆☆

Lae, Territory of New Guinea under Australian authority 1937 sets the stage for this suspenseful thriller that brings time travel, historical fiction, and a murder mystery that will surprise you around every page and leave you sitting at the edge of your seat from the beginning to the end wondering how Rachel is going to save the day and escape with her life as she heads into another adventure this time to try and save Amelia Earhart and Fred Noonan.

Time Risk 3: Amelia Earhart: A Time Travel Mystery and Historical Adventure (Book 3 of the Time Risk Series) by Elyse Douglas is a time travel lover's dream. If you haven't had the chance to read any of the books Elyse Douglas has read, I highly recommend this book and series. The characters are well written and draw you into the book or series as soon as you start reading.

In this third installment, Rachel Hunt a former detective from Cleveland and time traveler travels from 2029 to 1937 to save one of the most famous female aviators, Amelia Earhart, and her navigator, Fred Noonan from their final flight from Lae New Guinea to Howland Island in the South Pacific during their around the world flight. Though Rachel has traveled from 2029 to 1942 and 1912, this trip back in time is one that is harder, more dangerous, and repeatedly just might be her last time traveling through time and just might bring the end of her life in 1937.

Like I mentioned above, this is a great book and a great series and it looks as if Elyse Douglas opened the door for at least one more additional books. Let's hope she decides to go a step further and writes many more. If you are into a great time travel thriller, this book and series is for you. You will not be disappointed. I hope you will enjoy.

Rachel jumps the shark

Time travel adventures are one thing but rescuing a famous 1930s personage and bringing her into our crazy world makes this newest chapter pure pulp fiction, or rather, like those movie serials of the 30s and 40s. But the Douglas team pulled it off by putting their traveler in dire jeopardy in a jungle jail charged with murder! But, this reader is more interested in what happened to the famous aviatrix here in 2029!

A great read!

Once again, the author has painted such a vivid picture of the past. The result of endless research and the gift of storytelling that I found compelling in the first two "Time Risk" books. As an Australian and of an age when I grew up with imperial currency, those simple descriptions of shillings and pounds took me back to those days. All part of a rollicking adventure whose pace never falters as the reader (me😊) has to navigate all the twists and turns of the story. So I'm now looking forward to Rachel's next adventure!

As usual, great plot, believable characters, tension and no disappointment with the ‘final phase’. As usual I didn’t want to put the book (my kindle) down and took every small opportunity to read a few pages.

Looking forward to now adventures in book 4. There’s going to be a book for, right? Please!

Time Risk – Book 3 is an absolutely gripping time travel story that pulls you straight into the action from the very first page. The writing is so vivid and immersive that you feel like you’re right there with the characters, experiencing every moment alongside them.

The pacing is fantastic – it’s one of those “on the edge of your seat” reads where you just have to know what happens next. The tension builds naturally, and every twist in the timeline keeps you fully invested in the story.

If you love time travel, high-stakes adventure, and storytelling that makes you forget you’re reading a book, Time Risk – Book 3

mystery flight and rescue

A fascinating tale of a time traveling team trying to rescue Amelia Earhart on her cross Pacific Ocean flight to nowhere. Our Time Traveler heroine tries to rescue Amelia from her tragic last flight from obscurity. Facing death at the hands of several scoundrels and a disrupted technology of time travel back to 1937 make for a great background for possibly a great survivor story.

I like ALL of Elyse Douglas' books, but this one really appealed to me as I was a flight attendant with a love of aviation and a curiosity about Amelia Earhart. Since I also like time travel themed books, this one was a winner. Has quite a few twists and turns, and let's just say, if I were younger, I'd learn how to fight.

I find these time travel books fascinating and have read many of them by Douglas. This one sends Rachel back in time to try and save Amelia Earhart from the last leg of her flight in 1937. But things so wrong and there is a good chance Rachel won’t make it back. Twists and turns made it an exciting read - and my first book of 2026!

One problem I had with this book is that it was similar to the last book in that Rachel goes to a past time and stays in a funky hotel. She meets the characters in the book at the hotel. It just seemed to much alike book 2.

Wow!!!

Elyse Douglas never disappoints! I would have to say that the most fun with this story was the history behind the adventure! I can’t wait until Book 4 is released!

I really didn't care for this book in the series. it sends a lot of time with personal problems and leaves with her sister still on life support. For the 2nd time she is murder suspect. I need to reread the end. I think it suddenly stops and I got into about other books
