It's been over a decade since a plague decimated the earth, flattening and destroying society as it used to be.
Odessa Lazos is used to her solitary existence. She survives by any means necessary and refuses to feel shame in this new world. Who's left to judge her anyway? When her brother's ex-best friend somehow wedges his way into her life, she's shocked by the maelstrom of emotions he unleashes. Even more surprising, when bad men set their sights on the two of them, she's suddenly ready to keep Banks Bridger safe at all costs.
*Content This book is set in a gritty world. It contains death, murder, suicide, and violence. There is also graphic sexuality, including dubcon and somno, and off-page insinuated SA not of a main character. If any of these are triggering to you, please skip this book!*
More of a plot than her regular erotic novellas. It actually made me think of her early stories which she wrote under the pen name, Emmy Garcia, which I thought were wonderful. I always hoped she’d write more of those and I do love it when I get my way!
Genre: Adult Apocalyptic Erotica Spice: 3/5🌶️ *spice ratings are relative to similar books in the same genre*
The Catalog: F/M, post-apocalyptic survival, age gap, big boi MMC, body hair appreciation, virgin FMC, belly bulge, (light) somno, he’s always wanted her, brother’s childhood friend, badass FMC, size difference, “it won’t fit”
TWs: attempted SA, pregnancy
Synopsis: Odessa’s brother always knew that society would fall, which is why he spent years setting up their rural property to be the ultimate survival compound. So when the epidemic hit, they were ready. Now, Odessa does her best to survive alone, but she’s never completely alone, not with Banks shadowing her.
Thoughts: I would have absolutely read a full length version of this story. I became very engaged with the apocalyptic world and the life that Odessa made for herself with her trade system. For as short as this was, the author did a phenomenal job of painting this world on the pages.
Odessa is an absolutely badass FMC and I’m in awe of her for surviving. Banks was entirely too delicious; I’m obsessed with the big boi representation and body hair appreciation!
This book was hot, hot, hot.
My only complaint is that some of the dirty talk was a little cringey.
This was ok. Maybe erotica, maybe romance? It didn't really feel like either. The plot was ok. I don't think this book delivered on enough of anything.
I loved the setting, it's dystopian and of course it's tragic and dark but the heroine is managing by herself and getting by while the hero secretly protects her. Some quid pro quo situ and she discovered the d is too good to give up so she's keeping him forever. I just loveee a hero that goes "oh sweet baby, don't hurt yourself on my dick" Bravo Flora.
Hello from my dystopian / post-apocalyptic erotic romance era.
What's a girl to do when your brother is a tinfoil hat wearing prepper but then he is actually right and then has the nerve to die and leave you on your own in a secluded house? You get on with your shit. You trade services with the locals. You make do. And you absolutely don't jump on his best-friend who has been keeping a secret eye on you for years.
It's 'always been you' gets me every time. This had the added bonuses of will it fit? and I'm keeping you.
A quickie novella for when you need a little something-something to get you through. Grab it now on KU and do be sure to check CWs.
I was gifted a copy of this book by the author. All opinions are my own.
Super short read. Like 2hours, maybe 3. Dessa and her brother Demi both survived the apocalypse. Essentially COVID but worse. Demi is a super prepper and while excited to be right, doesn’t cope after a few years. Meanwhile, Banks is the neighbour, Demi’s best friend. But they drift away before the After. This has a few hints at life before, but is mainly set 10 yrs later. And Demi is gone but Dessa hasn’t really reached out. Things happen and Dessa and Banks re connect. Turns out he had always been on the lookout for her. Banks is big and burly. Dessa is sheltered. They hook up and a community starts to develop. She’s got to get rid of some bad guys - love how kickass she is with this.
Short and sweet. An interesting storyline, with well developed characters. The build up to the main love story is longer than I expected it to be, especially for such a short story, but the world building was good enough to keep me engaged from start to finish. Already an instant favorite that I'll probably reread in the future because I loved it so much
That was HOT. I would love a full length or just more from this world. This was a first form this author for me but I will be spending my weekend going through their backlog.
