He’s my enemy… and the mafia king who won’t let me go.
Vincent caged me, paraded me like a pawn in his bloody empire. But the night Palermo burned, Nico Knight stole me— the scarred king of the underworld with golden eyes like fire, dark hair falling in ruthless shadows, And hands that punish, claim… and make me beg.
He doesn’t woo. He doesn’t bargain. He commands. And I obey.
Every kiss tastes like punishment. Every touch brands me his. And on my knees, I whisper the word that ruins me—yours.
I swore I’d never belong to a man like him. But obsession is its own cage. Desire its own war.
And if I fall any deeper, I’ll lose more than my freedom.
The mafia king owns my body. The question is—will he take my soul?
⚜️ CHAINED IN CRIMSON ⚜️
A world where power is addictive, pleasure is punishment, and love is the deadliest sin.
This dark mafia romance is soaked in desire, danger, and obsession.
The chains may be cold, but the heat is unforgiving.
I have zero idea what this author was on when she wrote it? This is so bad that I think my jaw was on the floor at how bad it is. At first I wondered if English wasn't this author's first language or maybe it was a translation problem?. I don't know Maybe AI was used. Seriously bad.
1st off it starts with the mmc Nico collaring & leashing the FMC infront of his Nonna Salt (grandma) in a church or whatever- then mmc makes her repeat his rules over & over & over. Then he drags her around the city with her leash to humiliate her.
He tries to get her to suck his dick in the middle of the city with everyone watching but she refuses. Only to do it later on in a bar with his men (wolves) his brother etc watching. He actually does this a lot , in rooms full of people watching.
99% of the sex he forces on her is in public- like Infront of crowds of men, citizens etc so if that's your thing, then have at it. No reason is given why he's treating her this way, why crowds of people are screaming whore at her, obviously the author is big on humiliation kink. But this is a hot mess.
There is no real plot or why he's doing this to her but he announces or makes her repeat that she's his whore, everyone can look but cant touch.
He repeats words- A lot! Or makes her repeat them. There's no kindness, at 93%he was still chaining her leash to furniture so she cant move. I think he fed her once (bread & coffee). And shes dragged around in dirty, ripped clothing the entire time. Honestly the whole thing was written like a pipe dream. Nothing made sense.
Some things are repeated over and over again. Mmc just regurgitates the same crap over & over
Chain/chained is repeated 441 times Your/you're is used 391 times (mmc makes her repeat it constantly) Nico (the MMC) is said 349 times. Not kidding. He makes her repeat his name constantly. Fire is used 206 times Leash is used 173 times Vincent 165 times Salt is used 155 times- like he says salt all the time Collar is used 155 times Wolves used 155 times (wolf is used 15 times) Enzo 144 times (mmcs brother) Palermo 138 (their city) City 113 Luca is used 106 times (think he's a brother) Spit used 100 times Touch 94 times Kneel 64 times Iron is used 63 times Circle used 55 times Whore used 53 times Rule used 57 times Ragazzo used 37 times
Some of the craziest dialogue ever ....examples “Keep the fire off the powder, Nico.” “I am the powder,” I say.
"Last night, she bled and cursed and stared me down in a room where bleach forgot what clean means. This morning, she walks because I made her legs remember how."
The ring hisses like it remembers a saint lied here once, and we’ve come to correct the record.
"The garage is a theater; a law made from concrete"
"Let them look. Hunger turns mouths to knives."
"Old law says the room heard me. New law says it’ll regret forgetting."
“Dump him in the canal. Salt water’s hungry.”
"Pain is a cleaner language than this"
"Memory is Vincent’s voice in a room the color of old smoke. Memory is bleach and laughter. Memory is a hand that shook sometimes—after."
"Rule two. I move at his command. Fine. Then stillness is a weapon he can’t confiscate."
“Nico,” I say, quicker this time because he will take it anyway, and I’d rather cut my own hair than let the barber do it"
“Make it three lookouts, two overwatch,” I say. “And salt on the thresholds.” “You and your salt,”
. “You really think parading your—” His eyes flick to Serafina, then back to me. He edits mid-sentence. “—your symbol helps our business? “I think men remember better when you write in heat,” I say."
"The circle spits salt like it’s offended, and we walk out of it anyway"
Chained in Crimson by Sophia Vale is a forced proximity mafia romance, focusing on the characters Vincent and Seraphina. Seraphina now belongs to Vincent, and he parades her around, humiliates and dominates her to the best of his abilities, but she wont break, no matter what he tries to do to her…she is the ultimate queen used as a pawn between two men. I did like Seraphina’s character a lot as she was so strong willed and defiant. She warred with herself when it came to her feelings about Vincent, but she wasn’t going to give up to him without a fight! As this is book 3 in the series I felt that as a reader, I had missed a lot of the backstory, so I didn’t quite know what people’s relationships were or what was happening at times, and I often found the dialogue between Vincent and Seraphina a little repetitive and confusing.
There are certainly a lot of sexy, dark times within this book and if you enjoy mafia romances, then this is going to be right up your alley. I would probably read previous books first and be aware of any triggers before you go down this rabbit hole.
ARC received for a fair, honest and sometimes long review. All opinions are my own. 😊
Chained In Crimson is book 3 in The Bellanti Bloodlines series and is Nico and Serafina's story. It took me a minute to get into this book. I don't know if it's because I haven't read the previous books in the series or what it is but I couldn't connect. I completely enjoyed the characters and I enjoyed the back and forth between them. I love that Serafina was so defiant and didn't give in so easily. I'm giving 4 stars for the things I did enjoy and will be reading books 1 and 2 to see if I can connect better with this story.
This is book three in the Bellanti Bloodline Series, and i really enjoyed the story of Serafina and Nico. I enjoyed the banter and the constant back and forth between them. The story flowed easily and kept me engaged.
I would suggest reading the first two books for some background, as it may become a bit confusing just jumping into this one.
Anyone who loves mafia, forced proximity and a defiant FMC, then this series is highly recommended
This was a dark and delicious book! Nico was completely unhinged and Serafina was stubborn and strong! Great spice, dark and twisty story and the characters were phenomenal! You should read books 1 & 2 first to better understand the story and definitely check your TW’s. But if you like dark, spicy mafia romance, this book is for you!!!
This Nico and Serafina's story. It's a really well written mafia dark romance. Nicole is the mafia king that steals Serafina and is determined to make her obey his every demand. What scares her a bit is that she wants him to own her. This is a deliciously dark romance with some tr!ggers you may want to check out. But if you crave the darkness then you will absolutely love this story.
This was a great book! It was dark and delicious but not overly so. There were some scenes I felt dragged a bit but not so much that it was off putting. 10/10 would recommend!
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Chained In Crimson: A Dark Forced Proximity Mafia Romance (The Bellanti Bloodlines Book 3) By: Sophia Vale. It was a good story , unfortunately, I just could not get into it as much as I wanted.
Chained in crimson was Nico and Serafina's story. I thought it was an intriguing read. And was a new author, for me. I received an early copy. And voluntarily leaving this review.
