Brick: In His Crosshairs is the first (#1) book in the BLACKSTONE TACTICAL OMEGA series and the debut novel by the author.
Escaping a violent past Rowan Ellis has spent the last eighteen months on the run. Moving from town to town, County to County, motion is the only way she can keep her precious daughter safe.
Moving to Shadow Gap, they stay longer than Rowan knows is safe, but she’s tired of running, desperate to give her daughter some normality. When danger comes knocking Rowan must put her faith in the men of Blackstone Tactical and the intriguing and closed off Brick. Rowan is reluctant to trust, reluctant to put their lives in the hands of strangers, but as she and Brick grow closer and her community pulls together, Rowan starts to believe she has a future free of fear….

This excellent Military Romance is unbelievably the debut release by Christlyn Alexander. I say unbelievably because it’s so cleverly thought out, so well written, so polished, that it’s hard to believe that it’s not written by a seasoned author.
Brick, is written in an interesting style and is all the better for it, like a breath of fresh air. Full of thought out figurative and creative writing, the descriptions help you picture the scenes beautifully, the emotions are laid bare and the suspense runs subtly throughout the book, ensuring the reader stays as on edge as Rowan.
Rowan is real. Though she is struggling the after effects of trauma she is strong, protective and uses her experiences to move forward whilst being aware that her future is uncertain . Brick is taciturn, protective and ex military, determined to work at Rowan’s speed, to make her feel comfortable and in control. Willow is just a delightful bundle of joy. I also loved the community members and the Blackstone guys. Christlyn gives us enough details about these elusive men to whet our appetites for future releases and there is a tease at the end for book 2 in the series.
At around 300 pages and with a male cover that screams ‘Military’, I highly recommend this beautifully edited read.

Slow, steady and patience – what really brings a HEA.
Chrislyn Alexander’s debut Brick: In His Crosshairs, we meet Rowan & her adorable daughter Willow who’s had a very tough life. On the run, finally settling down in a quaint mountain town, there’s Calder (aka Brick). With Calder, there’s a group of fellow soldiers of Blackstone Tactical.
Calder knows there’s somethin’ amiss with Rowan, from the way she clocks every exit but he also knows he can’t force the situation to be better. He’s patient… He’s steadfast. Willow is freaking adorable and I just wanna hug her.
This book is FULL of angst, steam, action but mostly – patience. Calder knows he has to prove himself to Rowan that he isn’t going to hurt her like the one she’s running from, and I was 20/10 very happy that Calder took a stance on that (wink wink hint hint).
Both have demons in their past, more from Rowan’s side but also there is some with Calder. I loved how Calder was with Willow, always patient and willing to listen to her. Show her that not all men are hurtful.
You truly feel how the buildup between them, and that they got their HEA.
Ma’am, I humbly request that Tallie’s story is released ASAP. I WANNA KNOW!

This was a fabulous read and I highly recommend it. Reading this book was an amazing experience of pulse-pounding romance and military action precision. The characters are very well drawn and complex, and the plot advancement is relentless. The villain is excellently hate-able, and the heroine evolves from a terrified, nearly helpless victim to a strong woman who is sure of what she wants – and she wants Brick. He’s the epitome of a hero, able to both defend and avenge the woman he comes to love. The villain thinks he’s untouchable, but he doesn’t stand a chance against Brick. His team is human, though, and mistakes can happen to anyone, even with the best possible mission planning in place. Brick and his team set their sorrows and scars aside; they adapt and overcome to fulfill their mission. Don’t miss out on this first book in the series about the Blackstone Tactical Omega Team!

What a debut! This story captured my heart from the get-go. It takes the classic woman on the run trope and notches up the intensity. Rowan is in for a ride but it’s not an easy one. Past hurts have made her wary of men wielding control and keeps her feet halfway out the door. But she needs Calder and the help of his team. When she finally agrees to trust Calder and the men of Blackstone Tactical, they become the shield she needs to fend off and take down the one hunting her.
This book has so much emotional depth it’s impossible not to get teary-eyed while reading. Alexander has a way of transporting you into the story, wrapping you up with her beautiful descriptions. Read this new author, you won’t be disappointed! Not only do you get a happy ending but a teaser for the next book in the series!

Wholly Guacamole!!!!
This book is very special for me. It is not only the first book I've read from this author, but it is also the authors FIRST book!
This book does NOT disappoint and doesn't read like a first book.
The first is in what is going to be an incredible series for sure.
Calder is a bit intense but kind, understanding, has the eyes that show they have seen some things and has an unrelentless strength. He is a protector, and he makes a vow to protect both Rowan and Willow.
Rowan has a quiet strength and inner stubbornness that will succeed in protecting her daughter. She has been running for about 2 years and finally decides to take a stand.
Will Calder and his team keep her and her daughter safe??

Wow! What a thrilling debut!
Rowan flees with her young daughter, Willow, to a remote mountain village, desperate to escape a dangerous past.
Enter Calder, a.k.a “Brick”, a hardened Blackstone Tactical operative whose walls begin to crumble when this guarded woman and her adorable child unexpectedly enter his life.
Be it romantic or high stakes, there is tension throughout, keeping me reading well into the night. I melted while reading the trust building between Rowan and Calder, and found myself teary as he formed a tender bond with little Willow. Their hard-won happy ending felt earned after everything they endured.
I’m looking forward to reading Tallie’s story!

This is a very good romantic suspense. Rowan is on the run and hiding with her daughter Willow. Brick works for Blackstone Tactical and wants to protect them. Her ex is rich and manipulative. He has the deck stacked against her. Brick and the Blackstone vow to protect her. Great characters. Story that goes the extra mile.

Chrislym, BRAVO on your first book!!! The storyline grabbed me, the villian I wanted to kill him myself. Very much looking forward to the next one.
