'I remember thinking earlier why the hell did I agree to this godforsaken blind date. But after seeing Collette, I realized it wasn't a mistake. It was fate. And I made the right decision.
I couldn't look away. There was an ache in my chest, a hunger that's been dormant for years, roaring back to life.
She's not just beautiful; she's captivating. There's a purity about her, a softness that begs to be claimed, protected.'
I loved this book. I loved both Collette and Craig. The chemistry between them was immediate and hot. I liked the angle of him being a doctor and thinking in those terms when he gives her a check-up after her milky malfunction at the restaurant.
Because they met at a double blind date, I was confused how this was a father's best friend romance- until she met up with her dad at a restaurant and he introduced her to his best friend who just moved back to town. I find it odd that her father never told his "best friend" about his daughter or that they would never have met, spoken, been told each other's names, or seen each other even virtually during her entire life. Doesn't feel very best friend-like to me, but I love that part of the storyline and how it all worked out.
I liked Collette's roommate, Audrey, and the teasing between them. Though if my friend suddenly ran out of the restaurant on a double blind date, you can believe it would be me running after her to check on her, not leave it up to the blind date. But then we wouldn't have this romance, and I did like that she didn't so our couple could really connect.
A fun, beautiful romance. I think it's my favorite from Milka Moore (so far at least). 5 stars
