My first impression of "Think and Grow Thin" was one of deep skepticism. The title suggested an overly simple, even cliché, solution. I was therefore pleasantly surprised by the profound and practical wisdom contained within its pages.

This work is framed as a spiritual and psychological guide to weight loss. The key differentiator, the author explains, is that it moves beyond external resources like restrictive meal plans. This isn't a diet book; it's a "mindset manual." This unique angle was a major selling point for me, and I found myself smiling broadly at its core premise.

The author, a certified LifeSuccess consultant, developed this system from his own successful journey. He offers a crucial disclaimer: while the principles worked for him, they require serious commitment. He wisely notes that anything truly worth having is never easy to obtain, but we have the power to choose which challenges we face. The book argues that investing in this personal transformation is the most worthwhile "hard" we can select.

The book’s tone is extremely affirmative, acting as both a guide and a cheerleader, which is crucial for sustaining motivation. Its most powerful insight appears early on: true commitment requires a daily renewal of purpose, especially on the days you feel like quitting.

The author brilliantly builds credibility by anchoring the methodology in established works like Napoleon Hill's Think and Grow Rich, a direct inspiration that the author acknowledges. This well-argued foundation, combined with its electrifying energy, has earned it a permanent place on my bookshelf.

Using the law of the universe to lose weight

Never in my husband’s life or my life have we ever needed to lose weight. We do now that we are in our 60s, and we’re ready to give this a try. We’re not ones who will take diet pills. This concept offers a completely new perspective. What stood out most to us was the author’s “Big Goal Statement.” It’s something we can easily adapt to our own goals. I also loved the “pink slip” concept—it’s simple yet powerful. We’ve read many of the resources the author references, but I had never thought about applying the laws of the universe to achieving weight loss. This book makes that connection inspiring and surprisingly practical. Highly recommended.

Really recommended

I think Fred Ford’s story gives the whole message real weight because he lived it, not just studied it. Also, for me the focus on reshaping your thoughts instead of obsessing over calories is refreshing and more human. I appreciated the idea that imagination, faith, and daily habits matter more than quick fixes.

More Than Motivation, It’s a Movement

Reading this felt like sitting down with a wise mentor who’s been through it all. Fred’s honesty about his struggles makes the victory even more inspiring. This book isn’t about perfection, it’s about progress, surrender, and faith in action. I’ve never felt more capable of real, lasting change.

A Blueprint for Mind, Body, and Spirit

Finally, a book that connects physical health with mindset and faith. This one goes deeper than any weight-loss plan out there. Fred Ford’s 7 stages of transformation are eye opening and incredibly practical. I finished the book feeling empowered and spiritually renewed.

In my opinion, this book hits on something most weight-loss guides ignore: identity. I think that’s why so many people lose weight and then gain it back... they never changed who they believed they were.

Instead of pressure, this book gives people permission to grow at their own pace with intention. If you’re looking for another diet, this isn’t it. But if you want lasting change from the inside out, it hits the mark.
