Welcome to Darkaway A destination resort for supernaturals. Where Monsters Come to Play!
Daphne Dupree needed to get out of town after things at work got a little…complicated. The last thing she expected when she filled out a silly online quiz was winning a singles trip to paradise. Too good to be true? Probably.
Turns out, Darkaway Island is more than a little strange. People in costumes. Large dogs running around unleashed. And there’s a lot of crazy talk about monsters.
But the weirdest of all is that she seems to be part of a…dating contest.
The a smoking-hot cowboy with an unhealthy fixation on the moon.
Travis Monroe wasn’t planning to stay long on the island. As the grumpy werewolf star of a supernatural soap opera, all he wants is to give his newly-inherited ranch to his sister then fly back to the set on his private plane.
Trouble is, if he isn’t mated by the White Wolf Moon, the ranch reverts to a half-brother he just met, and his sister loses everything.
Find a mate, sign over the property, break up. Falling in love isn’t in the script.
As Travis and Daphne spend time together on group dates and one-on-ones, his feelings for her grow, extending far beyond duty to his family. And she learns he’s more—much more—than just fangs and fur.
But a rival pack is stirring up trouble, and Daphne is hiding a secret of her own.
Do Travis and Daphne find love in paradise only to lose it in the end?
Live your life like there’s no tomorrow because you’re Running with the Werewolf.

I was lucky to get an ARC copy for an honest review, and I'm soooo happy I did! I have missed Laurie London's books so much, and she definitely didn't disappoint. The book follows Daphne as she is on the run from a total douche. Then, she finds herself on a mysterious island on a dating show to date a werewolf. Lots of funny moments and, of course, the romance and love we are all looking for. Don't walk, RUN! This is a must-read!!
Squeeee! I was so lucky to get an early ARC! This is the first book in Laurie London's new Darkaway Island series. It could be labeled a contemporary-paranormal-romance since Daphne and Travis are involved in a modern-day dating contest, with Travis as the "bachelor" prize.
Travis really doesn't want to be a "prize," but if he wants to keep his newly inherited ranch on the island in his immediate family, he has no other choice. Daphne wins a free trip to Darkaway Island, which gives her the chance to escape a horrific situation back home. And, to her SURPRISE, she's one of the several bachelorettes in the contest.
Daphne is sweet, snarky, and fun! Travis is all man/wolf, taking on the responsibilities he's inherited before getting back to his job as a sexy cowboy series TV star.
This was such a fun read! I'm usually into more darker romantasy/fantasy however this was a nice change!
Without giving away too much, in this story, the FMC unwittingly enters a 'Bachelor'-type content with a werewolf-shifter FMC on a magical island with secrets. The banter between the two was fun, and I'm happy it wasn't a long, drawn-out yearning type of affection. It was nice to have it start from almost the beginning.
I couldn't put the book down once I started - in fact, I read it all in one day! If you are looking for a change from the darker romantasy genre, then you you need to read this one!
I received an ARC of Running with the Werewolf and what a treat it was!
The chemistry between Travis and Daphne jumps off the page. I loved the banter between the two of them as they navigated their way through the story and to each other. Laurie London creates such a great world with Darkaway Island and what a fun idea to take a popular reality show and use it for this story. I had a great time reading this book and I want more from this universe.
Arc review. For a honest review in my own words on a book I read. This Awsome story about Daphne Dupree and her cat ,find them on the run and entered into a contest that opens her eyes to the magic side of life . I loved this book .
I have loved every book I have read by this author and I loved this one too. I found it fun and zany with some other interesting stuff mixed in. I would love to visit this island again. I don't want to say too much so as not to give anything away. *I was gifted and Arc for my honest opinion. *
