The First Rule: Bound in Marriage: An Erotic Domestic Discipline Journey

Rate this book
When Erin’s sharp tongue crosses the line one too many times, Daniel responds with calm, deliberate discipline across his lap.
From that night forward, he lays down the first rule of their greet him with respect—or be punished until obedience becomes devotion.

As the sting fades and the heat between them builds, Erin begins to realize that Daniel’s control isn’t about anger—it’s about love, structure, and a need to see her thrive under his hand.
Respect becomes more than a rule; it becomes the foundation of a new kind of intimacy—one that leaves her trembling for his approval and aching for more.

Sensual, emotional, and unapologetically erotic, The First Rule begins the Bound in Marriage series—an ongoing journey of surrender, structure, and a wife learning that devotion can be the deepest form of desire.

SO I struggled with the idea of writing this or not. After days after reading this novella, I felt like I needed to write something. First off, after speaking with others about what this book was about and how I was feeling about it, I learned that not all of these styles of books are this way. There was no true agreement that was laid out. I did read the prequel too and Daniel is very possessive but very calm and deliberate in his words and actions. After their first date, he takes her back home and because of the way she acted, he bent her over his lap and spanked her. She wasn't sure what to think. Like it wasn't a spanking for enjoyment but a spanking to show she was in the wrong. With this book (book 1), it's after they are married. There is no character development at all. I felt like all it showcases is the "discipline" aspect of their relationship. She isn't "respectful" and he spanks her again. As long as she shows respect, their "adult" time is sweet and caring but if she gets a spanking, it's not so tender. There was one point where she drops the carton of eggs on the floor breaking a couple eggs and starts shaking when trying to clean it up. He doesn't get upset but that fear had me saying RED FLAG! Then she can't tell others about their true relationship because she isn't sure how they would react.... RED FLAG again. He is changing her to what he wants her to be. While some might like this, this book doesn't outline an agreement, what she is supposed to be doing. Instead she does something he doesn't like, he explains the rule to her and then spanks her. Like these rules should be outlined prior and it needs to be mutual from what people that read this genre have told me. This was a first on this style of book and I just couldn't do any more book in this series.
I wish the author the best of luck with writing. I just think this missed the mark. It's too short and doesn't set up the story and makes me feel like it's going to turn into something dark and not in a good way.
I was provided copies of the books from the author. Again, wish the author the best of luck with future books but for me, this missed the mark majorly and just screams red flags and not in a fun/good kind of way.
