Reinventing Grace

Rate this book
Grace Hamilton thought she had it all right up until the moment her life fell apart. Betrayed by the man she trusted, Grace’s only choice is to return to the one place she spent her childhood trying to escape. Wattle Creek. She knows it’s not forever, just a chance to reset and figure out the next step.

Cole Flanigan is enjoying the simple life. One he earned on the back of a decorated military career; he now spends his days tending cattle and taking advantage of the peace and quiet on his ranch. But the moment he finds Grace crying and bleeding on the side of the road, everything changes.

Could it be that the last thing these two want is exactly what they need… each other?

Reinventing Grace is the first book in the Sweet Dreams B&B Series by Rebecca Barber and is a instalust/instalove set in the small town of Wattle Creek.

The story follows FMC Grace Hamilton who has recently found herself unemployed and heading back to her home town. As a child, Grace couldn’t wait to leave Wattle Creek and although she is back in town now, her plan is to reset and find herself again, not to put down roots like her sisters have.

Ex military MMC Cole Flanigan is loving his life doing farmer stuff on his peaceful ranch on the outskirts of town. He has his cattle and his loyal dog, Rocket, and is happy with the solitude and simplicity, that is until he finds Grace on the side of the road. Their connection and chemistry is electric and now their worlds have suddenly combined, what they thought they always wanted is questioned just to keep each other in their lives.

We got a glimpse at Grace’s sisters, Georgia and Gabriella and I look forward to reading their stories in this series. I can’t wait to visit the Sweet Dreams B&B in Wattle Creek again soon.

Reinventing Grace is a small town romance that was a fantastic read. Grace comes home from the city to reset her life & reconnect with her sisters but finds it harder than she thought it would be. Cole is living the quiet life he thought he wanted until he meets Grace. Throw in a poddy calf & some chickens and your heart will melt.

This was a really cute story and I enjoyed every page of it from start to finish. I have loved every one of Rebecca Barber's books that I've been lucky enough to have the chance to read so far and this one was no exception.

I loved watching Grace and Cole's relationship blossom and grow from the moment they met on the side of the road to the end of the book and all of the little things that Cole does for Grace and the way that he takes care of her is so sweet!

Reinventing Grace is a perfect mix of sweet and spice. One of my favorite scenes is the one involving the kitchen counter in chapter 7 and the spicy kitchen table scene later on in the book along with the spicy scene in the barn in chapter 14.. I also loved when he told her that he loved her for the first time.

These were just a couple of my favorite lines/quotes from Reinventing Grace;

"The moment I felt his arms wrap around me, I fell apart. Sobs shook my body, my heart broke, and I felt myself let it all go. Somehow, Cole had become my safe space, and I trusted him to hold all my broken pieces together. I just hoped trusting him wasn’t another mistake." {Chapter 5, Page 41}

“I’ll leave you to it. Looks like someone needs rescuing.” “Nah. Grace isn’t some damsel in distress who needs a knight in shining armor to rescue her,” I declared loud enough so Grace heard as she closed the distance between us. “Of course I don’t. But I do need a cowboy in Wranglers and boots to …” I clamped my hand over her mouth, cutting off her words. I wasn’t sure what she was about to say, but from the mischievous look in her eye, I knew no one here needed to know what it was either." {Chapter 22, Page 163}

This was a really fun, enjoyable read and I look forward to reading Gabriella and Georgia's stories.

Grace Hamilton left Wattle Creek and never looked back. As a young girl she dreamed of leaving the sleepy little town and moving to the big city to live out her dreams. But those dreams were dashed when she lost her job, and her personal life imploded. Now she's returning to Wattle Creek with the hope of taking a much needed break...and then she'll get back to the city and rebooting her dreams. Or will she?

Reinventing Grace is a wonderfully penned story of healing, learning to trust, finding love and second chances. Our heroine Grace has been dealt a crappy hand at life and has no idea what to do next, the only thing that does make sense is Wattle Creek. There she has a good support system that is willing to help her pick of the pieces of her broken life and get her back on solid ground again. So she heads home to the place she never planned on returning to, with her tail between her legs, and her pride severely bruised. She knows it isn't a permanent fix, but it's the perfect place for a reboot and to find her way again. Then she meets the cowboy...and he was definitely not part of the plan!

This first time read had many things to smile about, the characters were perfectly crafted and easy to love and the words were utterly captivating and rich with feeling. After meeting Grace and seeing her find her happily ever after I am excited to see her sisters do the same. This was quite the enjoyable journey, one that kept me up into the wee hours of the morning, and totally worth the loss of sleep! Highly recommend!

I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.

A nice breath of fresh air! Cole Flanigan is definitely book boyfriend material. A cowboy, small town insta love romance with all the feels!
When Grace Hamilton returns to her home town, Wattle Creek, tail between her legs, unemployed and seeking a refuge to rest and reset before deciding what to do with her life. She didn't count on meeting her HEA in a cowboy package called Cole Flanigan!
Returning and seeing her twin sisters, Gabriella and Georgia brought back memories of Wattle Creek. She wondered what she had been missing. But did she miss it enough to want to stay?
Cole, driving back to his ranch comes across a bruised and bleeding Grace on the side of the road.
Stunning even in her dishevelled state, you could say Cole was "gone" from the moment he set eyes on her. Helping her after her fall, Grace returns to his ranch with a gift of cookies to thank him for his generosity, and lets just say the rest is history!
A simple no frills romance between two people that takes opposites attract to another level.
Grace slips into Ranch life with Cole easily as he is accepting her into his life was a no brainer for him.
Now to make her want to stay and not leave Wattle Springs!
Learning to trust Cole after her treatment in New York, Cole realises he has his work cut out for him to make Grace happy and have her choose him over going back to city life.
Medium spice level, if that is what you are seeking!! LOL
An overall great love story with the expected HEA. And don't forget to grab the bonus content to finish off Grace and Cole's story completely.

If you are looking for a love story about fresh starts, emotional scars and unexpected love this is the one to read. A simple no frills romance between two people that take opposites attract to another level.
Grace slinks home to her home town after a humiliating situation where she gets fired and loses her trust in the one man she believed she could always trust. All she wants to do is lick her wounds and figure out what to do next.
Cole Flanigan is ex military loving his life doing his farmer stuff on his peaceful ranch away from everyone. He finds Grace crying and bleeding on the road on the way to his farm. Seeing her instantly changes everything for him. But will Grace be able to see things as easier as Cole does and stay to see what can be between them? Will her past come back to come between them?

Cute instalove romance with a little family drama. Grace is headed home to get over what she sees as failure for trusting the wrong person giving her all to the job and still being let go after uncovering some shady business practices so she's left the big city for her family's run B&B in Wattle Creek and it's and adjustment her sisters are busy and don't seem to need her help. But things are about to change and she's about to meet her perfect someone Cole Flanagan. Cole left the military and wanted to settle somewhere so he came to Wattle Creek bought a ranch and it's hard work but it's rewarding and it keeps him out of town he likes the quite of being by himself until he rescues Grace now hes not so sure he wants to be alone he's looking forward to spending time with Grace but when the drama she left behind shows back up in town he just hopes Grace chooses to stay. This was a good story spicy at times with some closed door moments the only things I wanted more of were what kind of job Grace left behind and what happened to Zane he was Cole's Military buddy but I still liked this book. I was allowed to read and advance copy of this book and this is my honest review.

Reinventing Grace is the first book I have read from the author Rebecca Barber. It’s a great book and can’t wait to read more of this series and author.

This is a heartfelt story about fresh starts, emotional healing, and unexpected love. A simple yet engaging romance, it shows how two complete opposites can find their way to each other in the most natural and meaningful way.

The story follows FMC Grace Hamilton who has recently found herself unemployed and heading back to her home town. As a child, Grace couldn’t wait to leave Wattle Creek and although she is back in town now, her plan is to reset and find herself again, not to put down roots like her sisters have.

This is one of those he falls first and hard romances. Cole falls the minute he finds a sexy, curvy women limping down the road. Grace is a bit slower on the falling part, but she is not far behind. This is a quick romance filled with self doubt and loneliness. Grace is struggling with what her life is to become. She feels like she just doesn't fit in with her life since the implode. But with the smile of a sexy, grumpy, cowboy she begins to feel like maybe she is home.

This book is fun, exciting and sexy. Cole is so sweet and caring. Add in a baby cow and you got yourself a great cast of characters who will make you smile all day. This book is full of big emotions and Grace struggles a bit before getting a happily ever after. This fast paced read will entertain you for hours and give you those butterflies in the tummy feeling.

I thoroughly enjoyed this sweet small town romance. It is a great book with a wonderful cast of characters. I can't wait to see which sister falls next.

What a start to a new series! Reinventing Grace had all the feels, whenever Rebecca has a new series out or coming i always get excited because i know im in for some action, hilarity and a load of swoon-worthy moments all wrapped into a HEA.
This is Grace and Cole's story. Grace returns home after dissapointment to get her thoughts and life back on track after a break at her family home and B&B at Wattle Creek.
Cole has come back after serving years in the Military looking to settle down in Wattle Creek and brought a farm to keep him occupied. He stops to help Grace along a road and something in him stirred to life, the more time he spent with her the more he knew she needed to be in his life.
Grace was everything he needed even though he didn't know it at the time.

Quote i adored:
"Put me down. I’m too heavy,” I whined pathetically.
“You’re not heavy, Grace. You’re perfect,” he replied, and I swooned.
“I’m far from perfect, Cole.”
“You’re closer than you think”

Cannot wait for the next book in the series! 5 swoon-worthy stars

Grace was happy and then a man she trusted made her lose everything, so she returned home. Home where she didn’t really feel like she belonged. Her sisters had been running the B&B without her help for a while, and she just didn’t feel like they needed her.
Cole has his farm and that’s about it; he’s one of the towns hermits and doesn’t mind life that way. Returning home he sees an injured woman, and something makes him want to help her and want to keep her.
One night running she hurt herself and met Cole, someone she never thought she would meet but wasn’t sure what to do. After some persuading from her sisters, she goes over to again thank Cole, she never expected the connection they had and couldn’t help but want more.
Grace returned home to find herself and her direction in what to do next in her life. She never thought that meeting a stranger could make her want to stay in the small town she escaped from before.

This is book 1 in the Sweet Dreams B&B Series. Grace is recently unemployed and heading back to her hometown to move in with her twin sisters who run a local B&B. Grace was happy to leave Wattle Creek so she is left reeling when she has to return and doesn’t plan to stay for long.

When Cole, ex military and ranger, runs into Grace on the side of the road, their attraction is instant and their love story begins. At its heart this is a small town love story that has the added element finding a new path. Grace is seeking refuge but finds so much more. I loved how Cole and Grace instantly relate to each other. Cole is just what Grace needs before she even realizes it. Sweet story with just the right amount of spice.

Grace is a small town girl who left for the city as soon as she could, but now she's coming back home to Wattle Creek after losing her job to lick her wounds and regroup.
She's back in her childhood home and working alongside her twin sisters who have turned it into a B&B.

Cole (oh mylanta, Cole) is happy living his life on his ranch after leaving the military for a quiet life.
When he finds her scratched up and bleeding by the side he can't help but be intrigued by the beautiful stranger.

They both have their walls up, but something keeps pulling them into each other's orbit. Can they fight their attraction, does Grace want to start something knowing she's only back temporarily?

This is book one of three in the Sweet Dreams B&B series, and I can't wait for the next book

When Grace’s life implodes she returns to her hometown to be close to her sisters while she tries to decide what comes next. Her visit is only temporary and then she will be on her way however when Cole comes to her rescue she takes a look at the life she was leading and the life she wants to lead.

After his military career ended Cole moved to Wattle Creek needing the quite life that the small town offered. He thought he was happy living on his ranch until he meets Grace and realizes that she was who was missing in his life.

At first glance Cole and Grace are an unlikely pair due to their different lifestyles however their hearts don’t agree as they take us on a romantic journey that allows them to see what really matters.

A really enjoyable story, one to just settle down get comfy and read. It's realistic, down to earth and emotional. The couple have chemistry and build bonds almost without thinking, Grace finds a home completely unconsciously. I loved how the animals gravitated her way, with a slight touch or soft word, like she belonged to them. From a traumatic change in her life all she wants is a little peace to re-evaluate her life while spending time with her sisters in her home town. She finds so much more. Romance is different for everyone, it's not always going on dates, sometimes a beer on the porch is way more. Loved it and look forward to more in this series.

This is the first in a new series, and this is Grace and Cole’s story.
Grace though she had the perfect life, until her husband’s betrayal, which has her heading to Wattle Creek to regroup. Cole enjoys the quiet and peaceful life tending his cattle, but everything changes when he crosses paths with Grace at the side of the road.
This is a well written easy to read, emotional roller coaster, with family, friendships, betrayal, action, trauma, resilience, healing, humour, witty banter, undeniable chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining, and unpredictable, small-town romance.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

- Small town romance

This is the first book in the new Sweet Dreams B&B series. I really like the concept of the inn and look forward to reading about the other sisters in this family.

I found the small town of Wattle Creek to be charming! And I have always loved a grumpy, reclusive MMC. Cole fit that picture for me big time!

Cole refers to himself as a hermit, but he changes his tune quickly when he sees Grace...

Grace has only come home to evaluate her life after abruptly losing her job. But will Cole be enough to keep her in town?

A great beginning to a new series! Grace finds herself at a crossroad in her life. Recently unemployed she returns home to find a new path. She wasn't expecting it to be as hard as it was. Cole is retired military who just wants to live a peaceful life on his ranch. They meet when he finds her injured on the side of the road
While their relationship progresses, Cole is not sure if he can convince her to stay. I really enjoyed reading their journey to happiness. Can't wait for the sisters's stories!

Grace decides to go visit Cole at his place a few nights later. Soon, a romance begins to develop between Cole and Grace. I loved all the witty banter between the two to give you a few giggles.

Reinventing Grace by Rebecca Barber

This was a cute book. It’s Grace and Cole’s story and I found it entertaining. The character were likable and they had great chemistry. It’s a great storyline that makes you feel and want to know more about every character you meet along the pages. I enjoyed watching Grace and Cole's relationship grow from the moment they meet on the side of the road to the very last kiss at the end of the book. I enjoyed it and who can resist a sweet reclusive protective ex military cowboy. Definitely a book to read.

Reinventing Grace is book one of the Sweet Dreams B&B Series.

Grace returns home after a bad experience. Along the way she meets Cole and the chemistry is instantaneous. I loved seeing the relationship between these two develop and become something solid. He was there for her when it looked like no one else was. I enjoyed seeing the change in Cole from more of a ladies man to someone who could be a solid support for Grace and give her the love she needed.
