From the #1 New York Times bestselling author Brynne Weaver comes the second book in the devilishly steamy Seasons of Carnage trilogy where dark romantic comedy meets thrilling suspense—and where love is ripe for ruin.
It’s time to reap what you sow.
Cape Carnage is blooming with secrets, and they’re ready to harvest. But every time Nolan Rhodes digs one up, another grows in its place. Harper isn’t who he thought she was. Arthur might be more sinister than he first thought. And Sheriff Yates? The man is everywhere he turns. When true crime fanatics descend on the town looking for answers about the death of their leader, Nolan finds himself at the center of a search and rescue operation for missing people he knows are already dead. Cape Carnage teeters on the brink of chaos. And the harder Nolan tries to keep it together, the closer Harper comes to unraveling.
Harper Starling has risked everything to bury her trauma in Cape Carnage. But now that Nolan has unearthed her past, her whole life seems ready to break apart. And who can she trust? The enigmatic man she’s falling in love with? He came to kill her. The serial killer mentor she’s vowed to protect? He’s become an unpredictable menace. The woman in the mirror? She might be the most dangerous of all.
Loyalties are tested. Bonds are bent to a breaking point. And love? That might be the deadliest trap of all.
Harvest Season is a dark romance with mature themes. Please check content warnings at the beginning of the book.

Listen, I’m a Brynne girlie to the day I die. Being blessed with this early ARC has been the honour of my life. Brynne’s writing remains my favourite. An extraordinary balance of poetic and practical and hilarious and heartbreaking. I’m not sure how I’m gonna be able to wait to the next and final instalment because I am a ✨wreck.✨
🏷️ 𝗧𝗥𝗢𝗣𝗘𝗦 & 𝗧𝗔𝗚𝗦: 🏘️ Small-town romance 🎣 Fish out of water ⛈️ Grumpy/Grumpy 🛌 Forced proximity 💘 He falls first 🔪 Touch her/him and die 🤺 Villain x Villain 😈 Brat/brat tamer
Thank you for not making us wait a full year for book 2! Book 1 was one of my favorite reads of 2025 so I am pumped for book 2, especially after that epilogue!!
Back in Cape Carnage like I never left. Like my soul never escaped. Like the town itself reached through the page, grabbed me by the throat, and whispered, "Welcome home, biatch."
This book is BLOOMING with violence and longing and secrets so rotten they feel holy.
Nolan Rhodes and Harper Starling are not a couple. They are a BIBLICAL EVENT.
The bond between them feels like the kind of love that would end civilizations. The kind of devotion that is not romantic, it is APOCALYPTIC. If a man does not want to consume you body and soul, burn the whole world down for you, eliminate every threat within breathing distance, then what are we even doing here.
Nolan came to kill her. And now he is her shield until the end of time.
I do not make the rules.
Cape Carnage is spiraling. The bodies are stacking. The town is crawling with true crime freaks and missing people and Sheriff Yates being everywhere like a disease. Arthur is somehow worse. Harper is unraveling. Nolan is digging up answers and finding only more graves.
And Brynne, you beautiful devil, the way you write chaos is actually criminal.
More spice. More mayhem. More laughs that turn into horror halfway through. It is dark romantic comedy with teeth.
The last chapters had me LEVITATING. Edge of my seat. Mouth open. Heart in my stomach. I finished this feeling high and dry and feral and genuinely confused about what year I live in.
Also, Cape Carnage’s theme song is literally Dance Macabre by Ghost. Tell me I’m wrong. That town is a cursed party where everyone is flirting while bleeding out.
Brynne Weaver outdoes herself every single time. Every book boyfriend gets more unhinged. Every cliffhanger gets more illegal.
And now I have to wait for book three like a widow staring out a window in a storm.
During a world war or something.
Everyone will be gasping. Internationally. Brynne, I'm begging you.
This was everything I wanted and more. Nolan and Harper are the most messed up, yet completely perfect pairing in the most diabolical way. I wanted more, I got more, and I still need more.
We pick up right where we left off in Tourist Season, but the dangers and the risks are only getting worse. Cape Carnage is crawling with amateur investigators, and this book leans more into the murder mystery feel of Harper and Nolan working tirelessly to stay ahead of any suspicion on what really happened to all the people who have "mysteriously" vanished recently.
The spice was so hot they had a whole chili pepper contest about it (it's a joke, but also not). There are scenes in here that I will be thinking about for a long time. (What happens in the grain shed stays in the grain shed.) The banter becomes even more iconic as these two know each other so deeply that every joke and every bout of teasing is perfectly timed. And we finally see into the depths of both Harper and Nolan's most intense feelings and fears. Nolan's obsession takes new heights. Harper's fears hold tight.
I feel like I probably experienced every single emotion through the course of this book - laughter, adoration, devastation, intrigue, skepticism, deeply concerning concern for fictional characters. And I loved every second of it.
A HUGE thank you to Brynne Weaver and Slowburn/Zando for the advance copy of this title.
TROPES: Enemies To Lovers Serial Killer Romance Mystery He Falls First Touch Her And Die
“You could cut yourself out of me, but all I’d ever feel is the absence of you.”
Obsessed. Screaming, Crying, Throwing up over how much I enjoyed the second book in this trilogy. This had everything we wanted and needed. Fast paced, murder filled and spicy with both the perfect development and plot twist in both Harper And Nolan’s relationship and the plot itself.
“You embrace your sins, and you demand that others face theirs. You deliver justice with your own two hands. You break the rules when they trap us. You defy fate. You save the people you love, and when you can’t, you avenge them.”
I honestly couldn’t get enough of the way Harper managed to keep Nolan at bay whilst also being a complete pain in the ass for Nolan and keeping him on his toes. Not to mention the once kept together and conserved Nolan acting on impulse and urge. Every part of this book had me turning the page and the mystery only grew, I’m still left with so many questions.
Not only that a certain plot twist that tore my heart out, turned the trilogy a 180 and gave me whiplash (iykyk) and made me cry, I cannot bring my brain to consider what it means for the final and 3rd book.
Another great read from Brynne!! I went into this just knowing that I was going to get a massive cliff hanger but boy did it still hurt. This was one of those book I was trying so hard not to finish because I just knew I wasn't going to know what to do with myself when I did.
We do continue where the first book left off. There was just so much to unpack. New characters were introduced to the chaos of Cape Carnage. Sherif Yates, oh boy, this man!! I just don't have words for him! Nolan and Harper have gone through so much and are still going through a lot. The last 10-15% of the book destroyed me. There was so much that happened in those last pages. Author 😭 he is just the best witty, grouchy, old man ever. I am so ready to find out how this all ends. I am at the edge of my seat waiting for the next book.

Brynne Weaver, you beautiful devil you! You are killing me with these cliffhangers but you had me on the edge of my seat with the last few chapters! I can already tell book 3 will be insane & I can't wait. A+
Brynne Weaver is the queen of opening lines! I devoured this. We’re back in Cape Carnage with a bang! More spice, more mayhem, more unaliving, more laughs… all topped with that signature dark and unhinged energy we love. Thank you so much for the early advance eARC
As always, another top tier dark romance from Brynne. It was funny, spicy, nerve-wracking, and heartbreaking. To think I have to wait another who knows how long until the 3rd book after that BULLSHIT ENDING 😭
Thank you so much to Brynne, Netgalley, and Zando for the ARC.
