Big & Rough Cowboy's Curvy Christmas

Rate this book

Seven Christmas Eves. Seven years since my world ended on this very mountain pass. The last thing I wanted was to drive this road again, but I took the job anyway—a ghost facing his demons.

Then I met her.

Frankie O’Malley. A whirlwind in a winter coat with curves that make my long-dead heart start to beat again. She’s all sunshine, optimism, and cheerful chaos, and I’m the storm she’s driving straight into.

Now a blizzard has us trapped, just the two of us in an abandoned barn, with the wind howling outside and a different kind of storm building between us. She looks at me and sees a man, not a memory. The heat in her eyes promises a Christmas miracle I never thought I deserved.

She’s a risk I know I shouldn’t take, but with every passing hour, staying away from her feels like the one thing I can’t do.

My mission was deliver a truck full of Christmas presents to kids who needed them most. But when my rust-bucket of a truck dies in the middle of a Montana blizzard, I’m left stranded with the grumpiest cowboy I’ve ever met.

Harrison Bucklin is all hard lines, rough edges, and a grief so heavy I can feel it in the air. He was just supposed to be my escort up the mountain, but now he’s my only hope.

We find shelter in an old barn, trapped together as the snow piles up. The icy wind is nothing compared to the heat that sparks between us in the close quarters. There’s a wounded soul behind his gruff exterior, a protector beneath the pain. And the way he looks at me when he thinks I’m not watching… it makes me feel things I’ve only ever dreamed of.

I came here to bring Christmas to forgotten children, but I might have just found the one man who could make all my own Christmas wishes come true.

One snowstorm. Two strangers. Zero chance of coming out unchanged.

When stubborn nonprofit worker Frankie O'Malley drives a sketchy truck full of Christmas toys into the Montana mountains, she doesn’t expect to get stranded with a silent, brooding cowboy who hasn't smiled in years. Harrison Bucklin is all grit and grief and definitely not looking for connection, until it finds him anyway.

Trapped in an abandoned barn with a blizzard outside and tension rising inside, Frankie’s chaos meets Harrison’s control head-on. She’s loud, impulsive, and all heart. He’s quiet, steady, and full of pain he won’t talk about. Bears, looters, and long nights force them closer, but what really cracks them open is the way they start to see each other.

What starts as heat turns into something neither of them is ready for but can't walk away from. They try to slow things down. They don’t. Chemistry, grief, and hope collide as they figure out if there’s a future beyond the snowstorm. Trust has to be earned. Love has to be chosen. And some risks are worth everything.

Frankie and Harrison start with emotional baggage. Hers is shaped by insecurity and the need to prove herself. His comes from years of grief and isolation. Through storms, silence, and second chances, she learns to stand firm in her worth, and he learns to let someone in. Together, they become something stronger.

A steamy, snowed-in, cowboy, mountain man, curvy girl, grumpy sunshine, small town, Christmastime romance built on slow burn tension, emotional scars, and the strength of second chances. Exploring love, grief, healing, found family, vulnerability, trust, self-acceptance, emotional intimacy, and the risk of being fully seen. It’s about choosing love after loss, finding connection in chaos, opening yourself up when it’s easier to shut down, and building something real with the one person who sees all of you and stays.

The Elevator Pitch: A snowstorm traps a broody cowboy and a big-hearted dreamer in a barn on Christmas Eve, where sparks fly and secrets unravel. What starts as forced proximity turns into a slow burn full of heat, heart, and unexpected hope. It's steamy, emotional, and the kind of romance that stays with you after the snow melts.

Seven Christmas Eves ago, Harrison Bucklin lost everything that mattered. Since then, he’s been surviving, not living—a ghost of a cowboy, trapped on the same mountain that stole his joy. When he takes one last job delivering toys before another lonely Christmas, he expects nothing but silence and snow.

Then Frankie O’Malley crashes into his world—literally and emotionally—a curvy, kind-hearted woman whose optimism burns brighter than any Christmas tree. She’s sunshine to his storm, chaos to his quiet, and warmth to his frozen heart. But when a blizzard traps them together in an abandoned barn, the real storm begins. The tension between them hums like fire under frost, and every look, every touch feels like a promise that healing might still be possible.

This story isn’t just about passion (though, trust me, it’s deliciously steamy); it’s about redemption, second chances, and daring to love again after loss. Harrison’s grief is beautifully written—aching but never self-pitying—and Frankie’s compassion feels like the kind of love that changes everything.

By the time the snow settles, you’ll be cheering for these two broken souls who found each other on a frozen mountain and learned that sometimes… the most unexpected detours lead straight home.

⭐ 5 Glowing Stars — A deeply emotional, steamy, and heartfelt Christmas read.
If you love grumpy cowboys, curvy heroines, forced proximity, and holiday magic with emotional depth, Big & Rough Cowboy’s Curvy Christmas will steal your heart and warm it all winter long.

Love feels like lightning under her skin.

Francesca O’Malley is on a mission to deliver Christmas gifts to forty-three children in Falling Star Valley.

Harrison Bucklin operates a delivery service. He's there to assure she gets the gifts delivered. It's a good thing he's there because her ancient truck, Vera, dies en route.

Harrison regrets being there. It was seven years ago that his wife, Sarah, was killed on this same road when she hit an icy patch. He still blames himself for her death. Now with a storm bearing down on them and with the bridge out, he's afraid he's going to lose Francesca, too.

They took shelter in an abandoned barn. So far they've had bears intrude on them twice, and three looters also tried to get inside the barn.

She's twenty-seven and has never dated nor even been kissed. She suffers from narcolepsy and can fall asleep anywhere at any time. She's without her medication on this trip. She also has prosopagnosia, or facial blindness. She remembers people by their voices or their movements since she can't remember faces. Toss in synesthesia, seeing people's emotions as colors, and it's no reason she's never dated.

However, Harrison sees her. He's also decided maybe it's time to embrace love again—with Francesca. But first, there are still presents to deliver!

BIG & ROUGH COWBOY'S CURVY CHRISTMAS is Book 5 of the Big & Rough Alpha Cowboys series. It's a short and steamy, instalove, OTT, age-gap, opposites-attract, grumpy-sunshine, forced-proximity, curvy virgin gets her cowboy Christmas romance. Francesca "Frankie" is the 27-year-old owner and founder of a non-profit organization that provides Christmas toys for kids in need. Harrison is a 38-year-old hunky, grumpy, widowed former rodeo Ryder who now owns a transport company. When Frankie needs escorted to get toys to the kids on Christmas Eve, Harrison is the one to guide her through the snow. They have one issue after another, but as they spend time together, they fall in love. Frankie has medical challenges and Harrison still carries the grief of losing his wife 7 years ago on Christmas Eve, but together, they are able to help heal each other. This was such a beautiful story. Frankie was amazing and just cracked me up. Harrison was a crusty cinnamon roll. Together, their chemistry was pure fire and the ending was so happy. I loved this one so much.

Short but addictive so hang on you won’t put it down until the last page has been turned. Harrison sexy as all get out cowboy lost everything seven Christmas Eves ago, he has been surviving on his mountain just going from day to day not really living he delivers toys then heads home to spend Christmas day alone as usual in silence and just watching the snow thinking. Frankie curvy sweet loves Christmas she is sunshine but wen a storm traps her on the mountain with the grumpiest man she can’t help but allow her Christmas spirit out and it is so much it slowly but surely changes scrooge. The magnetic pull between them can’t be ignored and the more the storm rages the stronger the pull but is it enough to heal, will she help him find his way back to the land of the living, and have they found happiness?

Holiday romance.
Frankie is a young woman who has to cross a mountain on Christmas Eve in the middle of a storm. She meets Harrison, a beautiful, grumpy mountain man who doubts he will be her guide. Unfortunately, his car breaks down and the bridge allowing them to cross is destroyed by the storm, so he finds himself sheltering in an old barn, forcing them to uncover themselves.
Harrison is a broken man since the loss of his wife, and although beautiful, this Frankie, this city girl tends to exasperate him. He knows that alone on this mountain she would not survive, but now that he is starting to get to know her, he can't help but fall for her.
Will Frankie and Harrison have a beautiful story, or will Frankir return to the city once her mission is complete….

Francesca aka Frankie was determined to deliver Christmas to the kids of Falling Star Valley in the Montana mountains. The charity's regular van had broken down and she was driving a barely held together replacement cargo van which she had named Vera, why? She was scheduled to meet another driver who would assist her over the last rugged mountain route. Harrison Bucklin, the owner and other driver, is waiting. She's three minutes late! As their trip continues, a snowstorm starts and then the only bridge is out. What in Harrison's past causes him mental pain along that route? And in turn, what issues does Frankie have that changes the way she interacts with Harrison. He and Frankie seem to be drawn to each other. How does she help him as their trip continues? Is there something going forward?.

Emotions in Color.
Amazing. Harrison has been broken since the death of his wife seven years ago. He blames himself even though he wasn’t there or responsible for it. Francesca (aka Frankie) is delivering gifts as Santa’s Helper and Mr. Grumpy is carrying the overflow in his company truck. When her van gives up the fight they move everything to his truck. A blizzard hits earlier than expected, a bridge is washed away and there are two kinds of predators trying to get into the old barn where they’ve taken shelter. They need a miracle this Christmas Eve.

This is a great story that grabs you by the heartstrings and wanting more,
A story that wants to hug the characters close and love everything how it all came together for them. Harrison Bucklin lost everything that mattered. Since then, he’s been surviving, not living—a ghost of a cowboy, trapped on the same mountain that stole his joy. Frankie O’Malley crashes into his world—literally and emotionally—a curvy, kind-hearted woman whose optimism burns brighter than any Christmas tree. Francesca otherwise known as Frankie has a non-profit. She has a mission of delivering Christmas toys to a town that has limited access and children who are in need of a Christmas miracle. Maybe Harrison is the one who can help her do this. So many things that could go wrong did go wrong in this hilarious yet very touching Christmas themed book. Enjoyed it immensely. Funny realistic possible situations that could happen on a road trip.'tis the season to try to heal a heart and spread the Christmas joy. Absolutely loved it!.

This story took just a bit to get rolling, but once it did I was a gonner! Harrison, his strength and grief wrapped around him like a shell, had me wanting to hug him... just cause. Frankie was such a bundle of energy and nerves, channeling everything into her task so she could avoid herself. This Christmas themed story tugged on the heartstrings, yet offered hope, encouragement and joy. It whispered the true meaning behind Christmas.

This is a sweet, steamy romance with a second chance for a widower who thinks he doesn't deserve anything good and a young woman with her own challenges that still finds the courage to smile through them, but doesn't think a man will want her because of those challenges. This is a great story with great character's and comes with a snow storm, bears, looters and banter. I would absolutely recommend this book.

This is a heart-touching, steamy romance. Francesca, Frankie, is such a sweet character that I rooted for from beginning to end. She is on her way to deliver Christmas gifts to underprivileged children, but her truck breaks down. Harrison comes to pick her up and the gifts, and then a snowstorm strands them. I love the plot; it is so good. Harrison and Francesca both have baggage, but it doesn't take long for them to see there is a future together. An excellent short read for Christmas.

Heehaw , this was one of those books you start and just hold on to your panties. Harrison is the grumpy one and Frankie is the sunshine. But together , in the force proximity with nothing to do but keep building up that energy. BOOM... it is going to be a hell of a Christmas. I loved every last moment of this short but so spicy book.

I really enjoyed this story. Not only were the characters wonderful, the FMC is actually a little unique. I don't think I've come across a FMC with narcolepsy before and i enjoyed how the author worked this into the story. The details throughout the story, such as the bears, really added to it. Highly recommend this instalove story.

WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS NOVELLA

The grief representation is real. Sometimes when you lose someone you only survive but don’t really live. I loved how they both had their own issues but desperately needed the other
