Zanafilla e mendimit kombëtar: diskursi i humanistëve arbënorë përgjatë Renesancës

Ky studim trajton një ndër çështjet më delikate dhe më pak të eksploruara të historiografisë shqiptare: formësimin e diskursit kombëtar në veprat e humanistëve arbërorë të shekujve XV–XVI. Përmes një analize të thelluar të krijimtarisë së Marin Barletit, Marin Beçikemit dhe Dimitër Frangut, autori shqyrton mënyrën se si në mërgatë dhe në kontakt të drejtpërdrejtë me qytetërimin latin, humanistët arbërorë artikuluan elementet e një vetëdijeje identitare të qëndrueshme. Këta autorë paraqiten jo vetëm si kronikanë të një periudhe krize, por si mbartës të një kujtese historike dhe shpirtërore, që synon të ruajë vazhdimësinë kulturore të Arbërisë përmes gjuhës së humanizmit. Duke analizuar figurën e heroit kombëtar, qytetin si hapësirë kujtese dhe parimin “pro fide et patria”, autori zbulon boshtin ideologjik dhe simbolik të mendimit arbëror. Përdorimi i imagologjisë si kornizë metodologjike i mundëson një lexim të ri të burimeve humaniste, duke e vendosur humanizmin arbëror në kontekstin e gjerë të kulturës evropiane si shprehje të vetëdijes për identitet, përkatësi dhe dinjitet kombëtar.

About the author

Albert Bikaj is a political scientist and translator from Montenegro. Since 2022 he has been Faith and Philosophy research lead at the Orthodox Conservatives Think Tank. He holds a Bsc. in IR and Diplomacy as well as a Masters's degree in Medieval History focusing on the history of political thought. He is the CFO and Vice-Chairman of the Conservative Youth of Europe. He has written for the European Conservative, Mallard UK, and Research Institute for Politics and Government; and has recently translated Sir Roger Scruton’s The Need for Nations into Albanian.

This is an excellent book. It was an easy read, presenting a lot of information from primary and secondary sources. Concise in treating the main theme of the book, this will hopefully serve as a good resource for future research on the origins of Albanian national thought. Unfortunately, we Albanians have forgotten a lot of our national roots, and this book refreshed my memory and soul with some of our mighty men of history, especially our national hero Scanderbeg. I highly recommend it!

This book was an absolute pleasure to read. It’s incredibly well written and engaging from start to finish. I especially loved how the narrative flows so naturally, keeping you interested while still maintaining academic depth. A fascinating and rewarding read (not only saying it because it’s written by my brother). Highly recommended!
