Solomon Stone heads to Belize, preparing to extricate a rogue operative from a dangerous situation. The operative in question was supposed to infiltrate a criminal enterprise, but instead he's immersed himself in it.
Stone has a simple extricate or terminate. As he closes in on the operative, and the killers keeping a close eye on him, he realises he's stepped into an intricate one weaved by more sophisticated criminals.
With George Ingram looking on, and familiar faces making an appearance, Stone gets to work dismantling lives, aware swift retribution is the tonic required.
Another innovative and creative episode in this shadowy world of deniable spies and agents.
Love the writing and concept which sets it apart from many stories in this genre.
For me this account really doesn’t take the characters forward and therefore I was a little disappointed it was just more of the same, good though it reads.
Stone in his narrative can become repetitive in relaying the drama. This can be like a stuck record for me as the plot seems to follow a set pattern. I also feel there is a limited jeopardy here so the tension never really ratchets up to true thrilling moments.
A short read, cleverly composed and part of an intriguing collection of spy craft.
Blood Debts (Solomon Stone 4) follows Stone on a mission to rescue a possible double agent from capture. It soon develops into a mission to bring down a criminal organisation that is trying to destroy all George Ingram organisation SALVO’s good work having used insider knowledge to uncover its existence. Now those insiders are about to pay the price they did not expect as the criminal organisation makes moves to remove all the weak links and embarrass SALVO and governments in the process.
This will involve Stone and agents familiar to readers of the series as they move from Belize to London and Berlin dismantling the criminal organisation as they go. There is no celebration or recognition, just the possibility of death at some point. Blood Debts is a study of greed and alienation where the hero takes what solace he can with his fellow agents and ensures the innocent remain alive. It is all about maintaining distance and keeping relationships to the minimal. There is a strong element of cool professionalism but no warmth, think James Bond without the humour and smiles but high on the licence to kill and no fuss. Excellent in its way.
Solomon Stone is Back!! This is the fourth book in this series but can easily be read as a stand alone. Stone is the operative that’s called into play when results are needed and he always brings them! He’s a ghost operative that by the time you see him it’s too late. He is good at his job because his own life depends on it!! I absolutely love this series!! It was a quick read. I’m not sure if it’s because of the length of the book or the fact that I couldn’t put it down!! Great read!!
I voluntarily received an arc copy of this book and am voluntarily writing this review
An assassin with morals. Stone works for the good guys though that may not be easily comprehended. His familiarity with his boss and fellow agent Drummer are carefully managed to minimize fraternization. Something he finds contentment with. An interesting confrontation which will keep you engaged.
Stone and Drummer are sent to Belize to rescue, or eliminate, an operative who appears to have gone rouge. Alice (from Fatal Cargo) also makes an appearance, only her name now is Sophie. Ingram extended an invitation to her that she did not refuse and she seems to be really enjoying her new life.
Once again greed and the quest for even more power, has led already powerful men to make wrong choices. Choices that threaten the lives, and livelihoods, of others. They must be stopped at any cost.
This is book 4 of the Solomon Stone series. Now I have not read books 1-3. Even without reading the previous books, I found this book to be easy to follow. It does appear that there are repeat characters so while I’m sure the other books would give you more background about each person and how they know each other, I did not feel like I couldn’t follow this storyline. I will be going back to read the other books as I found all the characters very interesting.
For such a very short book it packs quite a punch!! It's like a James Bond 007 movies compressed into a 50-minute time slot ... LOTS of action; intrigue; close-calls; and dispensing justice on the bad guys!! I enjoyed this read very much and could picture the action in my mind; great descriptions and characterization!! Highly recommended!!
This is the first book that I have read by E.G. Ellory but it sure won’t be the last as it was so interesting to read. You get to investigate the life of covert agents, assassins and all the secrets. The pace was very fast and kept you interested right to the end of the book. I will read more about this series and what this author has to write about.
I enjoyed this book! I enjoyed the glimpse into covert agents, assassins, and secrets. I also liked the narrative being done as the main character’s inner monologue. I look forward to the next mission.
Stone is an undercover agent. They are on a need to know basis. This a great spy novel. Non-stop action with interesting characters and great visual descriptions. The story pulls you in and you don't want to put it down until you've devoured every word.
