***** What a great story!
Starting out at a wild, out-of-control drinking bachelorette party in Jesse’s apartment with a hired man with an overstuffed throng, whose “body was as oiled as a sardine,” she is furious when her neighbor Sebastian suddenly bursts in during the early morning hours, unplugs the music, and insists they stop immediately because they all have to go to a wedding in just a few hours’ time. In spite of his good looks, Jesse knows she would never date someone like Sebastian. He is the “kind of guy who couldn’t turn into husband material if his life depended on it.”
As for Sebastian, he could definitely get into Jesse, not only for her looks, but also how different she is from all the myriad of women he has taken to bed. To him, she’s “forbidden fruit.” She’s also a “contradiction wrapped in confidence.” And as for her artistic talents, he’s such a fan of her canvases he’s secretly bought several of her works.
Yet, step-by-step, they connect more and more (particularly after she manages to fix his door’s lock), and discover what lays on the surface sometimes hides deep frailties and memories. So much so, when bad things do happen, they wonder will it all come out happily?
I love this writer! She manages to mix humor, emotional and touching situations along with a steady, yet intense pace that pulls you in such an absorbing way. Besides all that, De Ross manages to produce such a perfect combination of amusing characters you care about, and a plot that urges you to find out what is going to happen next; and all with just the right amount of romantic steam. Highly recommended!!

Highly relatable, well-fleshed-out characters and a series of emotionally explosive scenes.
I utterly enjoyed this spicy, humorous and heart-rending romance. Melinda de Ross illustrates her main characters with the kind of depth and vulnerability that you don't easily find in romantic comedies, and this, to me, makes her stand out from the rest. I highly recommend this series if you love steamy romances with perfectly fleshed-out characters.

All the emotions
I love how this one touched on a bunch of different subjects and you could just feel all the emotions. A wonderful wonderful story.
