FREE Urban Fantasy novella, prequel to the Vampire Cherry series.

"The significance of things is rarely apparent at the moment they occur. People don’t know it’s the last time they’re making love with a significant other or the last time they’re seeing a friend, until long after the moment has come and gone. Lovers grow distant, friends drift apart, and one day you look back at that time you dug your nails in his back, or that phone call you ended way too soon, and wish you’d known you’d never get another chance. Wish you’d savored it while it lasted, instead of taking it for granted.

I often wish I’d realized the last time I felt the sun caressing my skin.

Or the last time I heard my mother’s voice.

Hell, I wish I’d known the last time I heard my heart beat."

Follow Cherry's first steps into a world she was never prepared for, in this prequel to the Vampire Cherry series.

Sotia Lazu

Sotia cries at sappy movies and wishes she could take in all the stray dogs in the world. She lives in Athens, Greece, with her husband--whom she met through writing--their son, and their two rescue dogs, one of which might be part-pony.

Her genres of choice are romances with a twist and urban fantasy novels, always with vivid erotic elements. Her characters aren't exactly hero-material at first glance; she likes making them fight for their happiness. Still, the romantic in her can’t resist happy endings.

it was an intriguing opening to hopefully a good series. I thought it took an innovative approach and made this much different in my vamp reading history. I liked how the author established the chaotic relationship and adjustments for a new lifestyle unsought. It was a fresh angle for me as a reader.
I look forward to reading more in this character's future.

So, it's more of a 3.8 for me but i really enjoyed reading it. I'll post more details on my opinion when I'll do a wrap up video for this years 'the reading rush'. Until then just know it was a nice little story.

an up and coming porn star- stage name Cherry Stem is attending her first meet and mingle with established stars. As soon as she enters the VIP area, she is grabbed from behind by a man who introduces himself as Willoughby. He is all over her, and when she tells him she needs to mingle and that she is filming the next morning, he tells her she has no need and lures her out to his limo. He has his hands up her dress and is nibbling, then biting her neck. She cannot get him to let go, and then she sees blood rolling down the top of her breast. She feels fainter and feels her heart stopping.
She wakes in a dumpster, thinking it is the same night. Outside, a man is waiting to speak with her, telling her she is a vampire, he convinces her to go with him to the VSS- Vampire Social Services.
When she arrives at a dilapidated building, she is surprised to find the inside to be real offices with carpeting and everything that any normal office would have. She finds out she was left for dead, but the vampire that drained her must have bled on her, turning her instead of killing her. This is illegal and she gives the name of her attacker so he can be dealt with. To be turned their is consent forms and time spent around others before it is allowed. Cherry doesn't want to be a vampire and she is given the choice of being dead or undead.
For the first few months she must live at the VSS facility and learn the proper ways of feeding without killing, avoiding bloodlust and staying out of the sun.
Her Trainer is Constantine, one hot piece of vamp. Will Cherry ever learn everything she needs to survive, or will she choose to be killed or commit suicide by sunlight?

I actually read Cherry Stem before I ever read this so I kind of knew this story, but I loved getting to read it anyway and finding out how it all really happened. I really feel for Cherry because she was on her way to making it big and then a stupid jerk has to ruin it all, but if I was her I'd be happy to get to be a vampire. Loved this book and I can't wait to finish all of the other Cherry stories.

Read this on my lunch break yesterday. I received it after signing up for the author's mailing list, along with an offer to snag the first 3 novels for .99c and decided to give it a try.
It's definitely piqued my interest. Cherry is a different kind of protagonist and I enjoyed her narrative and look forward to reading the rest of her story.

Warning: there is graphic sex scenes and violence in this book.
As an origin story this was pretty good. I was disappointed but not surprised by the ending. I will read more in this series.

This prequel introduces you to Cherry as she is introduced to vampirism. She's a bit shallow, but I think the series should be fun.

This short, easy read makes for a good prequel to what could be a good series. The story is told rather simply with not much back story but is kept interesting by having a completely different storyline than any I've read concerning vampires. I'd have to read another book in the series before I could give a higher rating, but it did make me want to check it out further.

I've just started reading Sotia's books and I'm really enjoying them. For an origin story this was really good. It moved well and I felt a connection with Cherry right away. I'll definitely go on with the series.
By the way, Constantine is an ass. Yeah yeah, I know, everyone loves him from the reviews I've seen but he could've given her a heads up instead of breaking her heart. Just saying.........

I read a short story in an anthology which was good enough to make me want to read more about this character because it sounded like it would be fun. Well, it is still basically good but I think I am going to need to read more to see if it gets better. This was an introduction that was a bit slow and did not really give much of a background on any of the characters that were introduced. The language is fine and is descriptive enough to keep your interest for the most part. This is a novella length book but could have contained so much more.

Cherry is found by a woman who brings her to Los Angeles and places her in porn movies under the name Cherry Stem. She has been a bit player in a few movies but has now been offered a starring role and is very excited about her big break. In order to get her face out there she is sent to a party full of up and coming stars where she meets someone she cannot resist. Cherry wakes up the next morning not exactly herself and finds her life completely altered with no way back.

This is a different kind of vampire story with some old and new myth's about how vampires interact with the human population as well as how they interact with each other. Cherry is a likable character who could be really fun if she is fleshed out more and given more of a personality. This is a nice diversion when you are in between reads.

"Cherry Pop" by Sotia Lazu is an excellent beginning to what appears to be a promising series. Cherry is an up and coming porn star who at her first Celebrity party is attracted to a man that convinces her to leave with him. Instead of the hot roll in the bed she expects, he turns her drains her of her blood and leaves her for dead in a dumpster. She's found by another vamp her turns her over to Vampire Social Services.

This is an awesome vampire series and I can't wait to read more. This is a little taster at only 50 or so pages, but leaves you wanting more!

18+ for adult situations and language

Cherry's Origin Story

This novella has it all: hopes, tragedy, trauma, love and betrayal. Despite its short length, Cherry Pop is full of thrills and steamyness. Plus, the vampire Viking that I want to kiss and kick his balls is one hell of a hottie.

I love the tender soft way Sofia brings Candy to her future as a vampire and how Cherry tends to to want things her own way. This is a book worth reading again.

A nice little starter

Cherry Pop is the prequel or book 0 of the Cherry Vampire series by Sotia Lazu.  Cherry Stem is an up and coming (see what I did there) adult actress on the verge of what she hopes will be her big break when she falls prey to a vampire who accidently turns her instead of killing her.

Cherry is smart, funny and willing to go after what she wants.  She is understandably unenthusiastic about her situation but learns to make the best of it.  The sex is hot, the dialog is sharp and funny and there's just enough to tease you into looking for more.
