Loved it!! It was everything that I was hoping for in the sequel to the first book and more.

Granted, given the ending of the first book, I was a little apprehensive. In Kari's quest to control her telepathy, she'd ended up getting herself involved with some rather dangerous people and into a situation that was well outside of her depth. That's not to say that she's away from any of those things, given the theme of the series and her current plans, and the whole saying about best laid plans...

Development and growth are here aplenty. Especially for Kari, and even for some of the villains as well. Being without her telepathy at times is both a blessing and a curse, and there are a lot of things that Kari needs to learn. Especially if she wants to carry her plans through to fruitarian. But in spite of her intelligence, there is still plenty that she doesn't know, especially in the experience department.

There are dark patches in this book, especially with the fallout of the events from the first one, and how Kari copes with it, and some sweet moments as well. Plenty of suspense, and a deepening of the plot. Some interesting new characters are added this book as well, and I will admit that I am rather fond of one of them.

It was a thoroughly enjoyable read, and I found myself hooked, finishing it within a couple of days. It's engaging, and you really do grow attached to the characters. Some surprises along the way, some interesting developments, and it wraps out at a really good point.

And I am very excited for the next book in the series. Eagerly looking forward to it.

I received an arc. Thoughts and opinions are my own.

Project Duplicity is Book 2 in The Kari Chronicles, and it picks up where the first one ends. This series is exciting, suspenseful, layered, and thoroughly engaging. International espionage with a paranormal twist and the threat of death at every turn have me tense and invested.
The characters are diverse and fun, and I am absolutely delighted with the introduction of Belle. I'm very excited about that subplot.
I don't want to reveal much about the plot in general, as it’s better to discover the secrets along with our protagonist.
Be aware that the books in this series do not conclude at the end of each installment, and they must be read in order. I am looking forward to the rest of the story.

Notable points:
• A psychotic billionaire’s secret organization
• Neurodivergent, pansexual, lesbian, POC, and nonbinary reps
• A massive, world-traversing ship
• Layered, nefarious, shady dealings
• Spies with good intentions
• Solid family support

I honestly can't think of any real criticism. I’m enjoying the ride, and I highly recommend this series.

I received an ARC from the author. This is my honest opinion.

This book is a fantastic follow up to the original. I can’t wait to go on more adventures. It’s everything you want in a modern day kind of dystopian, but it just keeps getting better and better going down rabbit hole 100% you need to read this series!
