This was a very vanilla book, considering that it's a reverse harem story. Everything was so bland. The plot was bland, the characters were bland, the black moment was bland. Heck, even the sex was bland.

There just was nothing to this story. It was a stamping out of another RH story in Layla Sparks's omegaverse but there is absolutely no passion behind the storytelling. I never felt like we really got to know any of the characters and there was next to nothing going on plotwise, aside from the sex. It was the equivalent of eating cotton candy. It doesn't satisfy your hunger and leaves you wondering why you bothered. It really felt like a novella rather than a full-length book. That's how little is actually going on.

But, if all you want is a reverse harem story with knotting involved, the sex scenes are good enough to be going on with. And I didn't find anything actually offensive about it, which is more than I can say for some of this author's work. So, 3 stars.


The book opens with the heroine, Francine, at her mother's deathbed. Her mother just blurts out that she killed Francine's fathers in a fire in order to collect the insurance money. She expects Francine to forgive her for this transgression but she doesn't.

Skip to the funeral and Francine sees her two sisters, who are heroines from other stories. They're kind of bitchy to Francine, honestly. Fran doesn't feel inclined to make a speech about how great their mother was, considering what she just learned, and one of the sisters snaps at her that she's embarrassing them. They do try to apologize later, but it made me dislike these previous heroines anyway.

Fran is an unmated Omega and stops by the store to stock up on scent blockers on her way home. There she runs into Drake. An attractive alpha who makes her heart go pitter-pat. He is also very obviously attracted to her as well because he chases her out into the parking lot and virtually forces her to take his business card "just in case."

Fran goes home but, little does she know, Drake has followed her. He's so enthralled by her scent and just overall appearance that he can't stand the thought of never seeing her again. So, a little stalking is just the thing, apparently.

Once she goes to bed, he's no longer satisfied with waiting in the car and instead goes inside her apartment building, noting how rundown it is and how she's obviously not being properly cared for. He uses her scent to figure out which apartment is hers and then tries the doorknob, finding it conveniently unlocked. Then he goes inside and finds her asleep and can't resist climbing into bed with her, wrapping his arms around her, and spending the night with his nose buried in her hair, breathing in her scent.

Next morning, Drake is awoken by Francine screaming her head off. He apologizes and books it. Fran elects not to call the police because she's so attracted to Drake. She even buries her face in the pillow he was using and gets herself off to his scent.

Then its time for Francine to start her new job nannying for some billionaire alphas' little sister. For some reason they requested an omega do the job, which seems like a bad idea when they, themselves, don't have an omega. But that's the story we're given.

Fran is interviewed by Kieran, the lead alpha and oldest of the brothers. He's immediately attracted to her as well but is determined not to act on it. For very poorly explained reasons, he's been insisting his pack stay omega-less for a while now, and for years to come too. He insists it's the right thing to do while they're raising their little sister but I don't really see how that matters.

I mean, maybe he was worried they'd all be so enamored by their omega that they'd ignore their sister? Doesn't seem very likely. There are four of them so surely one of them could sit the sex session out in order to entertain the kid. Maybe set up a rotation or something? But no, Kieran won't hear of it, even though the other members of his pack are fast approaching the mutiny stage.

Kieran hires Francine, but immediately calls a meeting to introduce her to the rest of the men and lay down some ground rules. None of them are ever to be alone with Francine, ever. For some reason he seems to think this will cut down on the chances for them to succumb to sex, which is a bizarre notion when they're all literally hardwired to want to share a woman amongst the four of them. But that's his rule, and he insists she wear her scent blockers at all times.

It's at this meeting that Francine realizes that Drake is part of this pack. Afterward he makes sure to tell her that she has to keep that a secret or else Kieran will fire her. She's desperate to keep the job, so she agrees. Rounding out the pack are Elias and Rowan. They're completely interchangeable except that Elias has glasses.

Francine immediately bonds with the little sister, to the point where it seems like the sister is just desperate for any kind of feminine connection. And that's used to help convince Kieran to keep Fran around even once the infractions start to build up.

On her very first day at the house, Fran ends up alone with Elias. She's panting after him and he's very keen on her too. He convinces her to help him prepare for their future omega by test driving a vibrator. It's here that he learns she's a virgin when he can't get the toy all the way inside her. After that she goes and takes a shower, putting an extra-thick layer of her scent blockers on. Only to immediately be waylaid by Drake and Rowan, who both go down on her at the same time. Kieran walks in on this and is hugely turned on by the whole thing, but still determined not to accept her as their omega. Not even for a fling.

So he calls a family meeting with his brothers and they argue. He's incensed that they couldn't even make it 24 hours without a sexual encounter with her. They all argue that they're sure she's their predestined omega. She's a scent match for them. That's why her scent blockers aren't working. Kieran isn't convinced and says they can't have her, but Drake threatens to walk away from the pack if Kieran doesn't do this. Kieran is shocked that he'd break up the pack, with his own brothers no less, over this omega but Drake is firm. Rowan and Elias don't threaten to leave with him but Kieran can see that they're also not on his side.

While this argument has been going on, the little sister has come home from school. Francine starts helping her with her homework and the girl is really laying it on thick that she loves Francine sooooo much and will she PROMISE to be here, always? Just so that Kieran can see that even his little sister is against him in his quest to push Fran away.

Also during this conversation, the girl reveals that her and the men's parents died in a fire at their workplace. Now, the author doesn't bother to name the workplace but you can see that two fires that mysteriously killed parents in the same story is too much to be coincidence. So, obviously, Francine's mother was responsible for their deaths too. Collateral damage from killing her husbands. And OF COURSE Fran doesn't come clean to Kieran or any of the other men because we need that little mystery to serve as the black moment later in the book.

Next thing we know, the munchkin has a convenient multi-day overnight field trip that'll get her out of the house so sex can take place. And the morning of this field trip, well it's the darndest luck! Francine just happens to go into heat! Who could have foreseen this turn of events!?

Naturally, when the men realize Fran is in heat, everyone except Kieran is on board with "helping" her through it. Kieran fights it until he learns that Francine is a virgin and that send him over the edge. He asks if Fran wants him to take her virginity aaaaaaand......She fucking says no! She tells him she wants Elias to do it!

Man, what a fucking slap in the face for Kieran! He's the leader! Aren't there rules about this kind of stuff? Apparently not. And from this point on, Kieran is effectively a beta in the story. He is the very LAST one of the pack to sleep with her. He doesn't get to make any decisions. It's pretty lame, honestly.

So, we get a scene with Elias taking her virginity, then Drake takes his turn. Then Rowan. And finally Kieran gets the sloppy fourths. And then the next chapter picks up with Fran's heat over and her having gone back home like it was nothing. They're not in a relationship or anything. They just helped her through her heat and now they have to wait and see if she's pregnant.

Which, it turns out, she is. She goes to talk to Kieran but instead of telling him about the baby, she reveals that her mother killed their fathers. Kieran, of course, explodes and accuses her of targeting their family for some nefarious purpose. He won't let her explain anything and tells her she's fired and to never come back.

Drake goes to see her and gets the full story about her fathers ALSO being murdered in the fire, and then goes and tells Kieran. As soon as he hears about that part, he's immediately remorseful to the point of self-flagellation. Just going on and on about how he's ruined everything and it's all his fault and can she ever forgive him?? The men all pile into the car with flowers and chocolates to try to win her back, but when they get to her apartment, she's not there.

She's out with her sisters licking her wounds. And then, since there's no villain or anything else that could serve as the climax of this story, she gets into a car accident and ends up in the hospital. There the men show up, apologize, and profess their love. They insist on taking care of her while she recovers and then they decide to get married. HEA.

So, as you can see, not much really happened in this book. The black moment was weak. The grovel and ending were weak. And fucking Kieran was weak. Blegh. I can't get behind a weak ass man as the lead alpha of their pack. And this is all we got to see of him. He was stubborn about not taking an omega for no discernible reason. Ignored his pack's needs until they were ready to stage a coup. And then blithely accepted the disrespect of being put LAST in line to sleep with their omega. Jesus, somebody give this guy his balls back!

Francine wasn't really much better, though. I don't really know anything about who she is. Does she have hobbies? Friends? What was her relationship with her mother like? What was the mother's relationship with Fran's fathers like? Why did the mom feel like she had to kill them to get insurance money rather than just let her alphas take care of her and their daughters? Did she have a gambling problem or something? Did they just not make enough money to get by? Seems hard to believe if they were working at the same place Kieran's parents worked and they were fucking billionaires. So what's the deal? And if they got a huge payout from the insurance money, why were Fran and the mom living in such a dump when the story began? Your guess is as good as mine.

Why was Kieran so insistent that they have an Omega nanny if he had no intention of taking an omega for their pack? Wouldn't it have been safer to just hire a Beta nanny then? And why WAS he so insistent that they not take an omega? Why did he feel like it would be wrong to marry while they were raising their sister? This really needed something. Like for there to have been an incident in the past of nannies, I don't know, mistreating the sister because they were too busy trying to sleep with the men? Something?

But there's just nothing there. No depth. No passion. No personality. Still, the book was mostly inoffensive so, there's that, at least.

I was a bit disappointed with this one. I’ve read all of this author’s omegaverse stories and have enjoyed aspects of all of them. This was one that I saw so much potential for and it fell a little flat. We didn’t really get to see the connections being made or fighting feelings. Even the healing moments didn’t resonate with me. I also hated how often holes was used and the waxing scene. I know it was trying to show her being taken care of, but to me it just seemed like she was shamed for something natural and forced into pain even though she was already in pain. Her entire heat didn’t give that devoted we’ll take care of you vibe. I just wanted more from this story especially since I loved both of her sisters’ stories. Francine deserved some more fleshing out, tension, passion, and deep connecting love. Not all of her stories have been my favorite though so we’ll see what I think of her next one in May.

Usually I'm a sucker for a nanny (or general employee) and her billionaire employers romance but this one just did not hit for me. I felt like every character was so generic and no one ever just had a proper conversation with one another, which meant it felt like there was ZERO chemistry. Even the brothers of the Pack felt like they didn't know or want to interact with one another. Also trying to sell the fire her mother started took both sets of parents had me rolling my eyes (like the child is 8 that means Francine was in her 20's so could have done with some cop on). Then some of the phrasing during the spicy scenes just had me cringing. Overall the story just felt so jumpy and like it never got past a surface layer.

I’ve absolutely loved the other Omegaverse books by Layla, so I went into this one really excited and expecting to feel the same kind of connection I usually do with her stories. Her previous books have always had that perfect mix of strong world-building, emotional relationship development, and chemistry that makes the bonds feel real and earned. Because of that, my expectations for this one were pretty high.

Unfortunately, this one just felt… a little bleh to me. It wasn’t bad, but it didn’t have the same spark that I’m used to from her writing. The plot didn’t pull me in the way her stories normally do, and I kept waiting for that moment where everything clicks and I get completely hooked—but it never really happened.

One of the biggest things I missed was the relationship building. In her other Omegaverse books, I love how the connections between the characters develop over time. You get to see the trust grow, the tension build, and the emotional bonds form in a way that makes the payoff feel worth it. In this book, that part felt rushed or almost skipped over. The relationships didn’t have the same depth, and because of that, the emotional impact just wasn’t there for me.

At times, the story felt a bit forced, like it was moving from one point to the next without the usual care and buildup. I hate saying this, because I really do enjoy this author, but this one almost felt like it was written just to meet a deadline rather than because the story needed to be told. It didn’t have that same heart that I’ve come to expect from her books.

I’m still a fan of Layla and I’ll definitely read more from her, but this one just didn’t hit the same way the others have for me

A great omegaverse RH romance!

I liked this spicy, hot RH story so much! Great, flowing plot that I devoured and five MCs, with distinct personality traits that will steal your heart! Francine is an omega. She is unmated and lives alone, since her sisters are mated, after her mother’s funeral. A mother that confessed a devastating, dark secret in her deathbed and turned Francine’s world upside down. She is offered a job as a nanny for the 8-year-old sister of the most prestigious and wealthy Alpha pack – the Silverwoods. Kieran is the leader, along with his brothers Drake, Rowan and Elias. Each unique, devastatingly handsome with their own strong personalities who complement each other. A pack without an omega – because of Kieran’s fears and trauma. When Francine comes into the picture, everything changes. Drake was the one who had met her before – and felt the mate bond drawn. Kieran futilely attempts to resist, his brothers don’t. But when things seem to work among them all, a devastating revelation about all of their pasts will threaten their newly form connection. Will they manage to get over it and find happiness? I couldn’t put the book down! 4 stars.

I wanted to like this one more than I did. The setup is so good. Francine walking into a house with four alpha brothers who clearly want her but also have all this tension and rules? I was ready for it!

But it just felt kind of flat. The connections between Francine and Kieran, Rowan, Drake, and Elias didn’t hit as hard as I expected. It all moved really fast without giving me that emotional build up. I wanted more tension, more depth, more moments where you actually feel them falling for her. It just didn't have the wow factor.

Francine herself had a really interesting backstory and I feel like that could have been explored way more. Same with the whole rejection and groveling situation. It was there… but I needed more. I love this author so I was surprised at how short this book was too.

It’s not terrible, just kind of one of those reads where you finish and go “okay” instead of “oh my gosh I’m obsessed.”.

What she needs is to get back to work after taking time off to nurse her sick mother, and when an in-house nanny position comes up through her sister's company, she decides to take the job. Only to get a big surprise when she turns up at the pack house.

Keiran, Drake, Rowan, and Elias need someone reliable to look after their sister, with them being so busy. What they weren't expecting was an Omega that would have them all to distraction. That had them breaking the rules within hours.

But when the secret that Fran has kept to herself comes out, some don't take it too well; suddenly, Fran's life is turned upside down! Has a quick, angry reaction lost them the Omega that was perfect for their pack? Can she ever forgive them for hurting her?.

Protective growly alphas

This was such a fun, fast-paced omegaverse standalone. It's a quick, easy read, so it was more on the lighthearted cheesy insta side instead of the ultra deep and heavy characters and plot. I thought it was cute and swoony still with just enough emotion and tension to keep things interesting. The spice and dirty talking along with the knotting and all the other omegaverseisms were scortching hot. I mean, four sexy horny billionare alpha brothers and a beautiful virgin omega nanny that's also their perfect fated scent match they want to claim and make her their queen. What is not to love?
I ate it up so fast, giggling as I kicked my feet with giddyness and glee.

The Nanny and Her Alphas by Layla Sparks absolutely delivers where it counts—this book is spicy.
The tension builds fast, and once it hits, it does not hold back. The dynamic between Franny and the Alphas is intense, possessive, and deeply addictive. Every scene feels charged, and the author leans fully into the power dynamics and emotional pull that make omegaverse/why choose so satisfying.
What really worked for me was how the spice wasn’t just thrown in—it actually matched the relationships. There’s chemistry, there’s connection, and when things escalate, it feels earned instead of rushed.
If you’re here for high heat, multiple Alphas who know exactly what they want, and a story that doesn’t fade to black—this one’s worth the read.

Got the ick. Insta love and the grovel sucked. She's the most virgin virgin who ever virgined and they're going to remind you of that every time she's with one of them.

“It feels so good,” she moans, tears of pleasure streaming down her temples. “I can’t even describe it. The relief. Oh god, Elias, it’s exactly what I needed.”

Not the fmc turning into chatgpt when she orgasms. 💀

The whole story takes place over like one week (including them meeting, her getting pregnant, AND finding out) and then she conveniently gets into an accident and we fast forward through time and past the grovel that supposedly happens off page so she can just forgive them already.

If you're looking for spice and Omegaverse this is it. I think at 5% in it got right to and it and I'm not mad about it.

I only gave 2 stars bc at some points it felt like a man had written this book and even though I like a few other Layla Sparks books there were some cringe moments. i.e. the waxing scene, I felt that was unnecessary... and the scene to her waking up with them playing with her without her knowledge or consent.

The overall storyline was ok. It was too quick. Felt like it all happened in a few days.

I'm sure I'll read another Layla book but this one was mostly pure spice and not a lot else .

Francine' mother just died and she wants a better apartment that does not remind her of her mother. Her sister Carmen owns Little Paws and she is being sent out to be a nanny to a rich family. She is hoping this will help her sort her feelings out. She is going to be around Alphas so she has to get her Omega desentizers for the live in time with this job. She meets Drake at the grocery store by accident. So what could happen when she moves in? Such a great read.

I was hooked from page one…
Francine’s mother dropped a bomb on her death bed with a terrible secret. Looking for a fresh start, Francine accepts a job as nanny for sweet eight year old Nora. Her employers, Nora’s brothers Kieran, Drake, Rowan, and Elias welcome her in with open arms. Nice omegaverse story

As this is an omegaverse story I expected the instant attraction and love so if you’re not a fan I wouldn’t recommend reading this. I did enjoy the slight turmoil that existed from the start and grew towards the end as it gave some drama to the story, but also showed that forgiveness is possible when the anger is more damaging. Did enjoy watching the MMCs relationship grow and in some cases they themselves grew as well. Worth reading and do recommend.

This had some good angst to it, but it felt rushed. It was a bit cheesy for me at times and the book just felt too short. The dynamic between her sisters felt like it was good when it suited the book and a bit tense when it didn’t. The sex scenes were great and they were very descriptive. But I feel like the plot needed more. And the FMC was a bit too soft for me.

I didn't expect it to be so naughty, happily surprised. I found myself clenching my fists, groaning and giggling. Decent pack bonds, drama and Climax the book was well rounded with a HEA.
Definitely one of my favorites because there was no war with another pack and no other woman drama.
Read it.

Finished, but skimmed last third. Weak alpha Kieran was annoying. Why is the least effective brother the alpha? Story tried to create intensity, but it all felt silly.
