It's a game changer...

Rhys McDowell. Striker for Manchester United. Bad boy on the soccer field. Badder boy in the bedroom. Rhys lives by the motto: never second-guess anything. His only regret in life is that he fell in love with the wrong man decades ago and no one has ever been able to erase that guy from his heart.

Until now.

Curtis Clarkson. Ex-captain of the Australian cricket team. A man once feared on the pitch, Clarkson is now a highly respected businessman with a devilish glint in his eye and a willingness to follow wherever life leads him. He never expected it to lead him to a man. A cocky soccer player, no less. And a private shower in Heathrow airport.

When lust and desire take control of both men, all the rules of the game utterly change. Curtis never thought he’d fall for a guy. And Rhys never thought he’d fall again, period.

But when fame follows your every step, what happens behind closed doors doesn’t always stay there. And the penalty box may very well leave you not just sweaty... but broken.

Lexxie’s not a deviant. She just has a deviant’s imagination and a desire to entertain readers with her words. Add the two together and you get darkly erotic romances with a twist of horror, sci-fi and the paranormal.

When she’s not submerged in the worlds she creates, Lexxie’s life revolves around her family, a husband who thinks she’s insane, a indoor cat who likes to stalk shadows, two yabbies hell-bent on destroying their tank and her daughters, who both utterly captured her heart and changed her life forever.

Having no idea how old she really is, Lexxie decided to go with 27 and has been that age for quite some time now. It's the best of both worlds - old enough to act mature, young enough to be silly.

And silly she can be. Just ask her husband who frequently has to endure her bursting into song whenever the mood strikes her, feeling him up in public (one of her favorite pastimes), or rolling around in the sand with their dog - a large mutt of dubious origins who causes almost as much havoc around the neighborhood as Lexxie herself. Or squealing her way down the slide at the local park with her daughter!

Lexxie lives by two simple rules - measure your success not by how much money you have, but by how often you laugh, and always try everything at least once. As a consequence, she's laughed her way through many an eyebrow raising adventure.

Two men both high profile sports heroes, one who has been in love with someone unattainable for over 10 years and one who fully believes he is heterosexual (until they meet), have an interesting encounter that leaves them both reeling and wanting more. Balls Up is a sexy story of two men discovering the true meaning of full contact and it is one you don’t want to miss!

There is so much that is fabulousness in this story, the least of which is the way these two tease each other throughout their flight from London to Sydney. I love their verbal sparring, the way they manage to insinuate so much sexuality into their barbs, and the fact that they do so with a very nosy journalist sitting between them. Their sexual encounters are creative, sensual, and so damn hot. More than that, I love the fact that these two very confident men are both scared witless that the other one doesn’t feel the same way and I’m not going to lie the ending scene was very very swoon worthy!

While this was a re-read for me, it was thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish and I will always love “my” guys!

Holy Hotness Batman! This alpha male matchup will charge up your ereader with its depiction of two handsome, dominant men fighting (unsucessfully, for our benefit) their instant attraction to each other. Rhys and Curtis are both secure in their masculinity, adored by women (and men alike) for their prowess on the playing field and in the bedroom. Together they sizzle and the love scenes between them are powerful and emotional. But behind the obvious attraction is the realization that when they are together there is more at stake than a simple fling. I liked the way the story was told from both of their points of view as they decide whether going public is something they will be brave enough to do. 5 stars for this hot and sexy read!

This one's a "gay-for-you" plot. Awwwwww! Gay for ME?! You shouldn't have! Actually, yes, you really should have. Thank you card to follow in the mail.

Rhys McDowell is The Trifecta of Hotness--an Aussie (instant ten points there), bisexual (so many geometric possibilities! I love maths!), and a manwhore (make no apologies for your sexuality, 'cuz then I get to read about it, over and over and over...).

He also happens to be a famous soccer player who's going home for some downtime, if by downtime you mean sucking on Curtis Clarkson's peen in an airport shower, and I do mean that, thank you Little Baby Jesus in the British Airlines Hangar Please Pass Me The Soap.

But I get ahead of myself...and,yes, I would like another serving of The Head, thank you for asking.

The first line of the book provides some lovely foreshadowing, "Off-season was always a pain in Rhys's arse," because there is much ass involved in this book. Don't worry--it comes with a generous side helping of lube. Always see to your partner's comfort, people! That's the first rule of Fight Club (no, it's not).

Rhys is nursing an unrequited love for his best mate and rockstar friend, Josh, and what better what to get over one guy than to get under another one? He literally runs into Curtis, former captain of the Australian cricket team, at the airport, leading to some sexual tension on the plane while they await takeoff, and leaving poor Curtis to wonder why his wayward dick is getting all hard around Rhys because he is a confident heterosexual.

I'll tell you why in three words--Aussie! Bisexual! Manwhore!

When their flight is delayed, Curtis rushes off to the airline lounge for a cold shower, Rhys follows, and they proceed to give Bath and Body a bad name all over the shower stall.

But, really, it's all good, clean fun--there's no better way to shine up a peen than to rub it vigorously with a sexy man-mouth for five minutes...or maybe ten if you're with an Aussie! Bisexual! Manwhore!

They decide to pursue their interest in sports...or maybe that was spurts?...tomato/tomahto...when they get to Australia, whereupon they find out they have deep feelings...yes, go deeeeper...beyond those in their respective prostates.

Couper does not disappoint in this novella, providing a nice little package wrapped up in unrequited love, angst, copious amounts of sexual tension, copious amounts of sexual fluids, and a healthy dollop of Aussie! Bisexual! Manwhore!

Showering has never looked so good, so put down the bath pouf, and get on this one.

Man oh man do I love it when lust hits two people upside the head and when it turns into more it is even better and that perfectly described Balls Up by Lexxie Couper. Two men both high profile sports heroes one who has been in love with someone unattainable for over 10 years and one who fully believes he is heterosexual until they meet, have a very interesting encounter that leaves them both reeling and wanting more. Snappy, scintillating, and oh so sexy this story is two men discovering the true meaning of full contact and it is one you don't want to miss!

Rhys McDowell well known soccer player for Manchester United, notorious partier, and all around bad boy is headed home to Australia to deal with and hopefully begin to get over the love he's had for his best friend Josh Blackthorne since they were 15 years old. A love Josh has no idea ever existed and one Rhys knows will for sure go nowhere now that Josh has met the love of his life. Feeling down and out of sorts until he literally bumps into Curtis Clarkson, ex-captain of the Australian cricket team and a beloved member of his countrymen everywhere, Rhys can't begin to understand the attraction and heat he feels but he certainly remembers their last meeting in living color. It's no different for Curtis who would love to deny the pull and the instant lust he feels towards Rhys, confused doesn't even begin to describe what's going on in his head.

There is so much that is fabulous about this story the least of which is the way these two tease each other throughout their flight from London to Sydney. I love their verbal sparring, the way they manage to insinuate so much into their barbs, and the fact that they do so with a very nosey journalist sitting between them. Their sexual encounters are creative, sensual, and so damn hot. More than that though I love the fact that these two very confident men are both scared witless that the other one doesn't feel the same way and I'm not going to lie the ending scene was very very swoon worthy!

Fun, sexy, and downright enjoyable don't miss Balls Up; two men plus lots of full body contact equals a love story no one saw coming least of all them!

This book could have been astronomically good if the story had been more fleshed out instead of using characters as fillers from previous book as mere sexual props. Both men were intriguing enough to warrant a full length novel of their own instead of a rush to a climax that proved to be less than satisfactory despite a wild ride.

Would be nice to think this is the first in a series. Could have extended it to full-length novel will a secondary story involving family members once the MCs arrived in Australia and another run-in that was interrupted before the MCs revealed all.

This book started well and was enjoyable but the ending felt rushed and unexplained. It left everything with unanswered questions.

Rhys has always been a wild one who lives his life based on instinct and dogged pursuit of what he wants when he sets his sights on something. That instinct usually doesn't steer him wrong, and the only time he has gone against it is regarding his unrequited feelings for his very straight best friend. For twelve years he has tortured himself keeping his feelings under wraps, and after finally coming to the conclusion that he needs to find a way to move on, he is on his way home to visit his family in the hopes his mom might have some sage advice to share. He never expects to be blindsided by literally running into Curtis at the airport.

Curtis has had some wild experiences during his years traveling the world playing cricket, but he has never considered himself to be gay despite some experimentation in the past. He is beyond thrown by the intensity of the feelings Rhys is able to stir in him and tries to outrun both the man and those feelings without success.

Once again the author gives us off-the-charts-hot interactions between two strong willed men who make each other re-evaluate their thoughts on the future. Rhys is stunned to realize that thoughts of Curtis have completely overshadowed what he feels for Josh, and Curtis has to acknowledge that his feelings for Rhys are causing him to redefine his expectations for a relationship and happiness. All in all, I was thrilled to see Rhys find his happiness!

If I could give half stars this would be a 3.5 stars.
We first meet Rhys McDowell as Josh Blackthorne’s best friends in Love’s Rhythm he’s that goofy lovable 15 year old best friend you wish you had! He’s fierce and loyal. Traits that follow him into adulthood. Something else from his youth follows him; the secret love he harbors for his best friend. A secret Rhys will take to the grave as he doesn’t seem to be able outgrow it, until he bumps into Aussie ex-cricket captain Curtis Clarkson and his heart, body and soul are are pulled apart and put back together again.
Curtis Clarkson is coming back to Australia with mixed feelings, his best friend Logan did win fair Bethany’s heart during their one night of shared passion and he couldn’t be happier for them but he’s not sure he’s ready for the lovey-doves their relationship will bring about. When he bumps into soccer play Rhys McDowell at the Heathrow airport his body reacts in unexpected ways. Curtis never thought as himself as gay before but he can’t deny what his body heart and soul want.
The book was a quick read and I was sorry when I reached the two little words The End because I wanted more. I enjoyed the character depth and the emotions and felt the story was in incomplete like the journey hadn’t really reached its end.

Seeing this book was super short you know its going to be a wham bam thank you ma'am and I was ok with that. It was still sweet. Rhys was a good character but for someone who kept saying he always goes with his gut, HE NEVER TRUSTED HIS GUT WHEN IT COUNTED!

Also...Curtis was confusing. He had a threesome with his best friend (a man) and his best friends girl but had no desire to touch his best friend during the thing but...did it for fun because he loves them both and she wanted that pleasure and he would do anything for them? It was just a weird thing in there I felt was unnecessary and kept getting brought up at the oddest times.

Also they used the word anus like...6000 times and I was fine at first but after the first 3,000 times it just threw me off. Anus isnt a sexy word! stop trying to make anus happen lol

DNF @ 65%

First of all, the whole plane config made no sense, and was only done for drama, a long-haul 1st class layout does not work like that, and you can't fly from London to Sydney without having a layover (true in 2024 and this was written in 2014) so wtf happened in the middle? Were they conveniently put back in the same seats on the second leg?

They just completely rush into everything because they have so much "chemistry" (I disagree), Curtis is already falling in love with Rhys the same day they've met. Rhys doesn't hesitate to hook up with the hostess though just to spite him. Gross. Rhys miraculously realises his lifelong crush on his best friend doesn't matter to him anymore.

Anyway, whatever. This book is not worth the time.

Great book

Rhys is a famous soccer player, who's madly in love with his best friend, Josh, and has been since he was 15. The only hitch in it is that his best friend isn't gay. Rhys is in his way back home to Australia when be meets Curtis, a famous cricket player, also in his way home to Australia. It's instant lust for the both of them and the story deals with how they feel about each other and whether of not Curtis is gay. The best part for me is that they get their HEA.

Curtis & Rhys

What an awesome story. I was invested immediately and didn't want it to end. Two sexy men exploring something new, especially to one of them. Not going to give anything away. I wished the book didn't end, but I think it could have gone on another 100 pages and it wouldn't stop be long enough.

This story hooked me from the very beginning and never let go. I have loved Rhys since he was 15 yrs old (don't judge me)! He had a dynamic but tortured personality that already showed through in "Loves Rhythm" and he only got more complex with age! It must be hell to be in love with your best mate and never tell him! Curtis caught my attention in "Compliance" when he and his best mate fell in lust with the same woman. For once, this alpha male made a choice to allow his friend to take the lead in their M/F/M rendezvous. What a power house they each are, loved by women & men alike, they are amazing!
Now, imagine these two Alphas running into each other at the airport & instantly feeling that strong pull of sexual tension, but trying their best to deny it. Boy, let me tell you, the shower scene alone blew my mind!! He he, every other sex scene that followed only got more powerful & hot as hell!! I get hot just thinking of these two men by themselves, now, imagine them together. This must be what it is like when two power houses collide!! Trust me, read this story! If you enjoy a hot M/M story, Balls Up is for you! Go on, you know you want too!!

Can I just say how much I love Lexxie Couper and her amazing storytelling?! I devoured her new release, Balls Up, all in one sitting and I wished that it would never end. I could not get enough of Rhys McDowell and Curtis Clarkson and the smoldering looks, highly sexual tension that blazed between them. I loved the intensity and spontaneity of their sexual encounter while awaiting their flight and I could not wait to see where their relationship was headed. Curtis has never felt such a strong attraction to another man before and is thrown by his feelings for Rhys, who is trying to get over his love for his best friend, Josh Blackthorne. I thoroughly enjoyed these two balls up in need for each other and the ultimate game changer for both of them.

I liked the personalities of the two main characters .They were manly, wild, and funny. However, I felt that the writer kept trying to change Curtis into a girl every time things got sexual. Sometimes it seemed like Curtis was a damsel being ravished by alpha male, Rhys. The only time I wasn't getting this impression was in the last sex scene.

The story was overly dramatic as well. The character's reactions and emotions were too extreme, especially for their situations. It made the story unbelievable and farfetched, at least in my opinion. I mean how does a straight man manage to fall madly in love with a bisexual guy, all within the time-span of a plane ride? I couldn't help but roll my eyes.

I didn't hate Balls Up, but I sure as heck I didn't love it either.

This was a hot story about a bisexual athlete and a straight one who has fooled around with a couple guys before. The villains are tabloid reporters. Most of the story takes place on a plane from England to Australia, and the remainder takes place at a hotel. There's not much plot here, merely flirting and hooking up. One thing that bothered me was the deliberate Americanization. Only in the US is football called soccer, but that is the term used here by the two Australians. That did not seem authentic to me.

After seeing this book recommended by a friend, I was anxious to read it. Boy, am I glad I took her recommendation! I loved Curtis and Rhys. Everything about these two was intense--whether they were trying to fight their attraction to each other or giving in to it. My only complaint was that it was too short! The story was complete, but I would have loved to read more.

First time reading this author. A friend recommended this short novella. It's part of a series but can be read as a stand-alone. Loved the sports tie-in. Two super hot guys. I will never look at airport bathrooms the same again! Nice touch of humor and some steamy loving. Glad I took a chance to read this one.

m/m erotic sport romance, the sports are for the men's physique. This was entertaining and better written than the few other erotic romances I've read. If you want this sort of story, the writer knows her craft, hence all the stars.
