Oh my goodness

So much intrigue. I really like Danielle, and Master Xavier. A few loose ends that are left dangling, like Salima....Thor.....and Armand the Bastard. Did Danielle fulfill Oniekas prophecy? The answers to these questions would make a great follow up book.

It was ok if you like all that ranchy stuff. I like the author and I have read other books by her and have a few more to go.

First things first, I was gifted a copy of this book for assign honest review. With that said, this was an enjoyable read. While it wasn't an absolutely immersive read, during my down time, I did get pulled into the story quite a bit.

The characters were definitely the strongest point of this story, though that's not to say that the story, setting and sex weren't all up to par. The characters shine, in my opinion, because the choices made by them were realistic the majority, if not all the time. I can't stand when characters make choices that were unrealistic or nonsensical for the sake of being nonsensical.

As I said, the story wasn't bad, but it wasn't exactly amazing either. The way the plot naturally unfolds with believable, if not slightly confusing character tension...MINOR SPOILER: I still don't understand what Master Armand's problem was, but I digress. I enjoyed the way the relationships between characters evolved and the plot twists.

And seeing that this was an erotic fiction novel, of course I would touch on the numerous sex scenes, and there are quite of them, understandably. They were good sex scenes, but I'd be lying if I said I haven't read better ones.

All in all, while I wasn't clamoring to finish this book whenever I had free time, it was a good read. Though, there seemed to be grammatical errors peppered throughout, but not enough so that I couldn't enjoy the book.

The cover describes the book as being Erotica, I am not quite sure I would fully classify it as this, but it is an enjoyable read. There a really good suspense story which drew me in, you want to know what all the secrets hiding within the walls of Babylon are. It did hold my attention for the most part, but some scenes seemed to be quickly skipped over leaving me wanting to know more.
I really did like the character of Dani, she definitely stood out as a strong character throughout, standing her ground, even when she should have backed down to her superiors. I would have loved to see some really detailed, steamy sex scenes but overall it was a good read. I look forward to seeing what else this author has to offer in the future.
