I love Vander and Brynn but this was just okay. The story felt flat.

Rating: 4 stars - It was really good
When I saw Hackett was writing another novella featuring Vander and Brynn I was excited. These two are my favorite couple from this series so I was excited to see what they would be dealing with next, especially after the revelations in the previous book that Brynn is pregnant.
This was a sweet and action packed novella. These two try to take a vacation in Italy and relax some before they start announcing their pregnancy and become parents. Instead they are dealing with Vander and his brother Rhys being kidnapped by the mafia.
I loved this novella. Brynn is an awesome and kickass woman and I love that we get another story with her kicking ass. She doesn’t let her pregnancy stop her from fighting for her man or doing her job as a detective. We see a little tension between these two at the beginning because Vander is terrified of her getting hurt, but the tension just makes them feel like a stronger couple in the end. Also, I love that we see Brynn rescuing Vander because Vander acts so untouchable.
Overall, I really enjoyed this story and loved getting to revisit this couple. It makes me want to reread this series! I am also wondering if there will be a spinoff with Vander’s friend Justin, but we will have to see, I guess.

Saving Mr. Norcross ~ Norcross Security ~ Book 11 is set in Sicily on a vacation in Italy for Brynn and Vander with his brother Rhys and his wife Haven. It is suppose to be a time to relax and have a good time.
The guys go to visit a friend and are abcucted. When they don't return, Rrynn and Haven trace down where they were taken and with the help of the guy's friend (also ex-special ops) Brynn goes into a Mafia's boss's villa and rescues Vander and Rhys. This involves several gun fights, setting off a chemical bomb and a daring excape with Brynn having the last word on how it ends. Lots of action, hot love and a new understanding between Vander and Brynn. Great vacation for these badass good guys and gals.

I swear its like crack....
Yes. I said crack. I feel like its been too long since I've had a Norcross hit. This was was short and sweet and suspenseful and funny.
I loved having some of my faves back on the page. Brynn is such a badass and I loved every minute of this book and the very HEA we got..

“I’m fine”
Saving Mr. Norcross is an action packed, hot romance. In my humble opinion, it is not up to the excellence of Anna Hackett’s usual books. It seemed stiff or forced.

Too unrealistic.
No one is that bad or good, it should have been more humanized. It needed more emotions and Vander is still scared about Bryan hazardous job.

Fast Paced!!
Vander and Brynn are in Italy on vacation. This is one action packed short story. Brynn shows everyone just how bad she can be when you mess with her husband.

“A ship in harbor is safe, but that’s not what ships are built for.” And neither is Brynn Norcross.
Considering that Vander Norcross first met his future wife, then-SFPD Detective Brynn Sullivan, when she was undercover in a motorcycle gang (their story is The Powerbroker), it’s not as if he doesn’t know that. Her innate badassness is one of the things he loves about her. That she can go toe-to-toe with him and/or against the bad guys every bit as well as he can.
He KNOWS that. And whether he likes or not, because the answer to that is a bit of an emotional muddle for a man who tried – and failed – to wall off his emotions. He knows that he can’t wrap her up and keep her safe at home, off the streets and away from her job, because it would break them. Even if worrying about her safety 24/7 is breaking him.
But the only way he knows not to spill all his caveman instincts all over her is to keep his mouth shut. Which means he’s shutting her out and that’s doing much too much damage all by itself.
Their vacation in Italy is supposed to be giving them time to relax and reconnect – but it’s not exactly working.
At least not until Vander takes on a bit of ‘work’ helping out a former Ghost Ops teammate who needs a couple of extra hands to put the fear of, if not exactly God at least the fear of retribution, into a man who thinks he doesn’t have to take ‘no’ for an answer from any woman he wants.
Vander, his brother Rhys and their buddy Jasper can certainly fix THAT.
But when someone takes the opportunity to fix Vander, and grabs his brother Rhys along for the ride, it gives Brynn an opportunity she really didn’t need right now. Just as Vander rescued her in the previous Norcross Security short story, Mr. & Mrs. Norcross, this time it’s her turn to rescue him from kidnappers who clearly had no idea who they’d taken or just how much retribution is about to rain down on their heads – along with bits of the building they only THINK they’re keeping her husband away from her in.
In spite of, or really, truly, because of, the danger they’re in and the bullets literally flying all around them, when Brynn breaking into the Mafia Don’s compound meets up with Vander breaking out, he finally figures out what he’s subconsciously known all along. That they not only belong together, they are stronger together, and that they are each just as much of a badass as each other – and that that is EXACTLY what they need each other to be.
They’ll need to be to raise and protect the child that’s coming, because that kid is going to be a badass from their very first breath.
Escape Rating B: At first, I had a bit of time getting into this one. It’s hard for me to get into a story when everyone is talking inside their heads but not saying much of anything important to each other, even though there’s one hell of a lot to say.
I mean, I got it. I got what was going on and it’s important. But he’s stonewalling and she’s trying to break that stone wall – or his stone head – and they’re both withdrawing and it’s no fun at all. I was glad that he didn’t ACTUALLY go all caveman, but the scene of her knowing he wants to and him knowing he wants to but can’t and neither of them talking about it is well done but seriously messed up.
As contradictory as it sounds, once Vander and Rhys get kidnapped the story kicks up into the gear I want this series to be in, and from that point it’s action and adventure and drama and romance all the way.
The rescue/breakout scenes were a whole lot of adrenaline-fuelled fun, as Vander is breaking out because he knows Brynn is coming to get him and he’s figured out what’s going on and thinks he can negotiate his way out. Not that he’s not willing to make a mess and take down a lot of bad guys, but he’s figured out what’s behind the whole thing. While someone is definitely going to go down for this, it’s not going to be him and Rhys if they can just get out of the way.
Unless Brynn comes in guns blazing – which is going to make negotiations a whole lot harder. Which it definitely does. Even if they do all manage to walk away from this mess relatively easily.
But it brings home to Vander that dodging bullets, chasing bad guys and blowing up drug labs and hidden dungeons is how they both roll. And that they’re both better off doing it together. That they finally get it together while literally caught in the crossfire made for a terrific, and terrifically explosive, even more happily ever after of an ending. And that was fantastic.
We might get more Norcross Security short stories like this one and Mr. & Mrs. Norcross. Which is lovely if it happens because it’s always fun to see how the gang is doing now that they’re all settling down – at least as much as they ever will.
Meanwhile, I’m looking forward to the author’s next book, Burn Down the World, which will be the first in her new action/adventure romantic suspense series, Unsanctioned. I can’t wait to see where she’s taking me next, sometime this December.

Brynn is pregnant and Vander is panicked..
So they go on a holiday with Rhys and Haven to Italy, Brynn is hoping that Vander will calm down and talk to her about their baby.
But they happen to be in city where a mafia boss wants to teach him a lesson, connected to his nephew who had a run in with Vander.
Rhys and Vander visit a friend and are ambushed, stunned and bundled into cars.
Haven comes to Brynn and Vander house worried that the men are not back from their friend’s place.
Brynn opens Vander’s duffel bag revealing a stash of weapons… she realises this bag was in the house when arrived because he would not have been able to bring all these weapons through airport security.
The first thing she does is break into Justin’s house as she is unsure if he had anything to do with this abduction… oops she scared Justin’s wife, May.
Justin immediately offers his help..
They find Rhys’s car and ask the shop owners and customers if anyone saw what happened. A local mafia boss is mentioned…
Vander wakes up and although he restrained, his first worry is that Brynn will be coming for him.
Rhys is unconscious…
Brynn and Justin work out where the man are , Haven is holding down the fort and operating a drone which helped Brynn and Justin get into the house where they are being held.
But once they enter the house they lose radio contact, so Haven rings home for help.
When the boss comes to gloat over Vander, it is clear that his nephew had not given his uncle all the facts.
Vander and Rhys get out of their cell and they encounter Brynn on the stairs..
They almost escape when they are surrounded by mafia and the boss tries to say oops sorry… but police and Interpol arrive and take all the bad guys into custody..

We're back with Vander and Brynn and HOO-BOY does Brynn have her work cut out for her as she tries to get Vander to unwind. I mean, he's already wound tight (and she loves him for that) so throwing her pregnancy into the mix has him on the sort of edge neither of them imagined. Let's just say Vander deals with things by internalizing A LOT and Brynn needs to get it through his extremely protective skull that together they have the skills to keep themselves and their baby safe from anyone who might be gunning for them.
Oh, yeah. There might be someone gunning for them. Well, for Vander, really. Frankly, Brynn WILL NOT put up with someone trying to hurt her man. No matter how competent (and terrifying) he is, she's willing to burn down the world to get him out of a dangerous situation.
So when Vander and Rhys get nabbed, Brynn formulates a plan, gathers allies (after maybe threatening them a little), puts Haven on coms, straps on some body armor, and sets out to save them. MEANWHILE, Vander absolutely knows that Brynn is going to do whatever she needs to do to get him out of this situation, so he's determined to get himself and his brother out before she has to put herself in danger.
A local tough who didn't do his homework (because I really don't think he would have grabbed Vander if he'd known who he was), an incursion into an enemy stronghold, a little explosion, a whole lot of heat (of the sexy variety), and two people who will absolutely run straight through anyone or thing that tries to keep them apart. GOOD TIMES all around!

SUSPENS-ACTION-FIERY ROMANCE
This story is a fast-paced read with a thunderstorm of emotions, engaging characters, edgy suspense, danger, action, sizzling passionate romance, humor, and a fabulous conclusion.
Brynn and Vandar are on holiday at a beautiful Italian villa in Sicily. She’s trying to get her gorgeous and loving husband to agree that having a baby is not scary. Vander worries dangerous situations could harm Brynn, a homicide detective, while she is pregnant. He’s aware he’s unable to forbid his protective wife from working to keep them safe. Vander’s brother Rhys and his wife Haven are staying in another villa. A mafia group captures Rhys and Vander after visiting a friend. When Brynn gets wind of this, her job-protective instincts take over to save her husband and brother-in-law.
A great rescue concludes with a wonderful surprise for Vander, Brynn, Rhys and Haven. The protectiveness and familial love are clear in this story. Background history gives insight into the character’s personas. A great storyline kept me engaged until the conclusion. Loved this story and received a pre-release copy.

Vander’s brother Rhys and his wife Haven are staying in another villa. A mafia group captures Rhys and Vander after visiting a friend. When Brynn gets wind of this, her job-protective instincts take over to save her husband and brother-in-law.
A great rescue concludes with a wonderful surprise for Vander, Brynn, Rhys and Haven. The protectiveness and familial love are clear in this story. Background history gives insight into the character’s personas. A great storyline kept me engaged until the conclusion. Loved this story and received a pre-release copy.

Brynn proves to be more than enough badass to keep up with Vander! Read these in order. But to start at the whole beginning, start with Treasure Hunter Security in order, then read Team 52 in order and then all the Norcross Security books in order and then Sentinel Security in order. Then you can read the Billionaire Heists series in order and finally the Unbroken Heroes series in order. If you have never read Anna Hackett before, you have a LOT of action packed, sexy romances to read and enjoy!

Vander and Brynn taking a vacation in Italy to relax, a babymoon if you will, was never, ever going to be calm and peaceful. Vander is going crazy with worry about being a dad and keeping Brynn safe. Brynn, warrior woman, capable cop and all around bada$$ herself knows her limits but Vander is shutting her out and that's not going to fly! They may still procreate like bunnies but she can feel the gulf between them.
Then a simple meet up with a friend becomes a whole thing and Vander and Rhys get their stupidly smexy butts kidnapped! Brynn goes into full mama bear mode and she's determined to bring him back in one piece. Her child will not be growing up without a father if she has anything to do with it!
Brynn is a complete warrior woman and believe me the bad guys will rue the day they got on her bad side! She may be pregnant and will do all she can to protect her baby but there is no way she won't be in on the takedown! Saving Mr Norcross is book eleven in the Norcross Security series by Anna Hackett. Nothing scares Vander Norcross until his wife, Brynna, tells him he is going to become a father, which causes his wife to organise a holiday to Italy with his brother, Rhys and his wife. However, on the second day, Rhys and Vander were kidnapped, and it was up to Brynna to rescue them. Readers of Saving Mr Norcross will discover what happens to Rhys and Vander as they follow Brynna's investigation.
Saving Mr Norcross is an excellent novella that features one of Anna Hackett's characters, whom I enjoy reading about. Reading this book, I learn about the dangers of revenge and not telling the truth.
I love Anna Hackett's portrayal of her characters and the way they intertwine throughout this book. Saving Mr Norcross is well written and researched by Anna Hackett. I like Anna Hackett's description of the settings in Saving Mr Norcross, which helped me imagine being part of the book's plot.

Brynn knocks heads and takes names
This is a satisfying visit/update with the Norcross family. Vander, head of Norcross Security and a man who could kill you without hardly moving a finger, is kidnapped by the local mafioso along with his brother Rhys. His wife Brynn, who’s pregnant, goes to break him out. The action is intense, as Vander worries because he knows Brynn will come to get him and Brynn does exactly that. Hackett does a lovely job of weaving in the emotional part of the storyline, as always. It is a fast, satisfying read that will make you want to reread the whole Norcross Security series. Or, if you’ve been under a rock and haven’t read it, you will be scurrying to grab them all up. Anna Hackett is one of my favorite romantic suspense authors, and she shines in this gem of a novella.

5 STARS: ++ This novella has everything!
I am deeply in love with Vander Norcross, but his wife, Brynn, would hurt me if I made a play, sooo…I have to make do with reading about him and his adventures. Saving Mr. Norcross is an amazing, complete story. There’s a sweet Italian vacation, a little angst about an upcoming little person, kidnapping by a mafia kingpin, a rescue shootout, and then trudging through a mafia-infested countryside. All the way, Vander and Brynn can’t keep their hands off each other. Their love is so intense and beautiful.
There are a few new charming characters, and then the entire Norcross family flies in for a surprise appearance. As I said, it's a great, complete story. I am going to reread the whole Norcross series now. Linda

What a mistake to make!
Vander is not a man to cross...as they find out because he doesn't leave quietly. But as scary as Vander is when he is mad, a pregnant Brynn rescuing Vander is far more dangerous. Heads will roll, people will pay and there is plenty of bloodshed as they underestimate her every time. And whilst Vander may be willing to accept an apology, Brynn has other ideas and pulls out the big guns, I LOVE when she gets all feisty Mama Bear. This is a fantastic addition to the Norcross Security series, I would love more of these little peeks into the team as the couples become families and the guys get even crazier with their protection.

When it comes to action, nothing beats Anna Hackett's stories. I was utterly enchanted by Mrs. Norcross and her seemingly limitless strength, risking everything when it came to saving her husband. Ha! I found myself smiling several times at Mr. Norcross's concern. He was not doubting, he was fearing. The overprotectiveness, the deep passion that gripped them, and their possessiveness were no surprise for me. Adventure, action, and suspense from beginning to end with this couple full of unusual skills and totally made for each other. I love these stories that keep me enjoying a good dose of action and eagerly awaiting what's next.

They keep getting better!
Give me all the Vander and Brynn. I adore them and honestly who wouldn’t. On vacation and trying to relax with some big family changes in the works, but things go awry when the local mafia decide to abduct Vander and Rhys. The following shows us some new characters and demonstrates again how fierce and amazing Brynn is. The mafia scene and confrontation was action packed but also humorous. I loved how Brynn had the final say. The end was precious with all the Norcross family together and celebrating the safety and the good news. Can we have more of this family …please either a cherry on top!!!

Amazing! I am in love with these characters, and will never get enough!
Do not read until you read the norcross security series. This book is amazing, but even better if you are already totally in love with all the characters. As usual, Anna has a strong, incredible woman in the story. This was a fast, but incredibly written story. The descriptions in the story were amazing. You could see and feel the action though out the story. I will never get enough of Norcross security!

OMG, what a fun book! Saving Mr, Norcross is fun because both the main characters are strong willed and capable of taking on an army of bad guys with their bare hands. So when Vander and his brother get taken by the mob while on vacation- nobody is really terrified. Ha. In fact, Vander worries more about Brynn rescuing him and getting hurt, and Brynn worries more about Vander and him getting free before she can get to rescue him. A boatload of smiles the whole time reading this book. I love the series and I love these Norcross characters.

This was such a fun dive back into the series and I loved seeing Brynn step up to save her man ;) Vander and his brother, Rhys end up kidnapped by the mafia while the four of them are on vacay in Italy. Brynn is quick to get contacts on the move to help her find them before it's too late. Of course, the fact that she's pregnant really winds Vander up to try and save himself ;P I loved this fast paced speedy read that also brought the heat! So much action, determination and fabulous family time. Good fun!

I loved reading a book with Brynn and Vander again. And always when the detective and security specialist get together, there will be trouble. They’re in Italy for R&R, but it’s anything but relaxing when Vander and Rhys disappear. I loved every minute of Brynn finding and rescuing Vander and Rhys, taking down bad guys, and of course, the not to be missed sexy times with her husband. If you can’t get enough of the Norcross family, don’t miss this one.
