From overall planning of the operation to terrifying accounts from soldiers on the ground on both sides, this book covers it all in great detail.

Loved it. Really goes into so much detail about the planning and execution of an incomprehensible mobilization. Covers what was going on all over the war arena and the home front. Makes one feel quite ashamed of complaining about anything! I wonder if we would be as selfless and brave today?

A very good account of D-Day. Much more detail than the Longest Day. A little slow when discussing the infantry advances up the various beaches, but otherwise very engaging.
