~Arc Review~   Where to even begin? This story literally has me in a chokehold. Have I ever highlighted a book before this series? Absolutely not. Did I abandon everything else I was reading when I started Shadow Voyager? Yes, yes I did. If you haven't read it, go do so now. Shadows Within continues with all of our favorite characters continuing to fight evil along with their complicated feelings towards each other & the chaos that comes with it. If you want an amazing & perfect golden retriever, Aaron is the most loyal guardian angel there is. For all of us morally grey girlies....Thanatos is your new favorite book boyfriend. Is he occasionally a skeleton? Yes. Is he still broody & impossible not to love? Absolutely. The amount of quotes I have saved from him should be criminal. And our girl Abigail? That girl has been to hell & back and keeps fighting. Shadows Within is definitely a bit heavier with brutal battles alongside the grief that Abigail now faces everyday. She isn't a whiny FMC or a trained warrior, but she is strong, loyal, & REAL in how she handles the things constantly being thrown at her. If you enjoy the kind of series that continues to get more intense with each book & will keep you questioning who is left standing at the end, this is for you. The author's writing is flawless as always, the magic, the characters, the conflict....utter perfection 🖤🖤🖤

5⭐️ all day! This series is exactly what I think YA books should be. The character development and internal struggles of these characters are so adult-like and it draws you in. But you’ll get a clean, no-spice book that’s all about the PLOT.

This second book carries on with 3 POVs (which I personally love). You also get to see more in-depth portions of very loveable side characters.

One of my favorite things that Sharon Garrison does is her dialogue. Rather than telling me how I should feel…she MAKES me feel it with her back and forth banter/conversations. I love it.

I’m also a sucker for love. You’ll get that in this book but not in your typical/expected way(I don’t like to give spoilers in my reviews so I’ll leave it as that). If you were torn in the love triangle before…you’ll probably be more torn after reading this (but like, in the best way possible).

The second book in this series is extremely fast-paced, with lots of action and so many aspects of the plot happening. I ate this book up QUICKLY. You will not be bored, I promise.

If you like: love triangles, witchy aspects, dark vs light themes, multiple POVs, found family…plus a plot that just gets better and better, then this book is for you and you definitely need to jump in on this series!! Both of these books hold such a special place in my book-nerd heart.

OH MY GODS, what a phenomenal second installment to the Whispers of the Veil trilogy! I am absolutely blown away.
This book had me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end. I caught myself holding my breath on more than one occasion. Sharon Garrison has such an incredible talent for story telling, world building and creating absolutely wonderful character arcs.
There was truly not a single boring moment in this book. The little time leaps that happened weren't confusing or done without thought and the seamless transition from book 1 to book 2 was done so well.
I love the way the story continued to unfurl and flourish in Shadows Within. There was a beautiful combination of answering unanswered questions from book one while also leaving a delectable amount of continued unanswered questions and new mysterious moments that left me begging for more. I am so excited and so curious to see how the rest of this story plays out in book 3. I am itching to find out what happens next and have no idea how the heck I will survive the wait.

Before reading Shadows Within you have to read Shadow Voyager.

At the end of Shadow Voyager my heart was broken for Abigail and then the cliffhanger...

Shadows Within picks up a little while after the events at the end of Shadow Voyager and I instantly felt that heartbreak for Abigail again. I wanted to just reach into the pages and hug her.

There are plenty of twists and turns. But the angst between Abigail and Thanatos and then Abigail and Aaron is perfection.

I love how the characters change and grow throughout.

But the end left me with... So. Many. Questions.
I can't wait for book 3. I NEED answers!

Once again I absolutely devoured the book in no time at all. Sleep was for the weak and I needed answers. The Reaper was still on the prowl trying to desperately reclaim his throne. There’s no telling what tricks he has up his sleeve. As for Abigail she’s trying to learn to use her powers to be the best version of herself she can be but she feels this darkness in her she doesn’t understand. Can she overcome it or will it overwhelm her? Only time will tell.

Absolutely stunning and the perfect continuation to Abigail's epic story.

Abigail's story is far from over and if anything its even more convoluted than before. Between learning to control her new powers, grappling with the darkness inside her, and dealing with the grief that still plagues her, her life is so unbelievably complicated. Add to that the way her heart is pulled in two different directions by Aaron and Thanatos. The way Sharon weaves this story together is absolutely perfect. It is told so unbelievably well that we feel everything that Abigail, Aaron, and Thanatos feel. I cannot tell you how many times I started to cry or my heart was breaking as theirs did. And the writing! I love the way Sharon writes and how the world comes alive with her beautiful words. The story flowed so well and the characters choices and actions fit them so well. I seriously cannon wait for the next book and to see how Abigail and co take on the new threats that loom.

This series is so good and deserves all the love. Having characters that are all great in their own way and make you care about them, an interesting plot that grows without feeling like things are being thrown in for no reason, and a little bit of a romance side plot. Being more YA it gives me the feelings that Fallen, Twilight and Hush Hush gave me. Highly recommend reading!

This book was so good! Fast paced, engaging, the story is unfolding in ways I wouldn’t I have guessed but it makes so much sense! I love Abigail more in this one. She’s coming into her own, getting stronger, and her walls are finally breaking. This girl deserves to be loved and cared for. And she has so many great ones taking on that role! I love Aaron so much still. Kinda suspicious of her Mom’s side of the family though…

can't wait for the third book! the story is amazing and I can't wait for what the third book brings! I did find some parts as cliché teenage angst and a bit cringe, though the plot is amazing and very enthralling

my fingers crossed wish was answered and I was given the opportunity to be an ARC reader for this 2nd book in the Trilogy. I don't know if my luck will prevail, but I'm hoping for ARC #3. So that I can come back through the Veil one last time...

this book wrecked me... it's okay to cry in public while reading, right?

Let me state first, this series is NOT my genre. I prefer spicy, not modern times... this series has no spice and is set to modern times...and I LOVE it. The heart-wrenching continuation of book one, the angst, the almost love triangle... the waiting.

"I would damn the whole of humanity, watch unapologetically as the world burned at her feet" .... I'm sorry, what!? How can one line just break you 💔

This series is so good! Book 2 did not disappoint. There’s no spice in this book and it didn’t need it. Sharon’s writing just grabs a hold of you and doesn’t let go.

Sharon Garrison has done it again! If you want a YA supernatural/fantasy book that keeps you wanting more, look no further! Be sure you read Shadow Voyager first otherwise you are gonna be wondering what the heck is going on and who are all these people. I love the character development and the true representation of grief and how it can impact someone. Especially someone as young as our main character Abigail. If you aren’t ready to fall in love with these characters and have your heart wrecked… well, read it anyways!

⭐️5 ♾️ all the stars in the sky
This isn’t just a book you read, it’s a world you can disappear into. Shadows Within was one of my most anticipated reads of this year. And y’all, it did not disappoint. It’s hard to put into words how much I love this story. This book is a little heavier than the first book and you can feel the emotions pouring off the pages. And the lore that Sharon weaves into this story is incredible. I have fallen hard for this world and characters. I am already planning when I will re-read this because I was not ready to leave this world.

I loved this book!! This series has me in a chokehold, and I need the epic conclusion now!! The love triangle has me going crazy, because I know Thanatos is the best!! His chapters had me so emotional, as he fought his inner battles by himself.
A favorite quote, She was every star shining in the heavens, and I was her obsidian night sky.
From this day forward, she was mine. And I
was utterly, recklessly hers.

Thank you Sharon for letting me into your world again!!
