Where has the time gone? I can’t believe I will be turning 44 this year. Middle-aged and divorced. I’m a walking cliche. Let’s add that my Ex left me for a literal barbie doll, wreaking havoc on my self esteem which was already quite fragile.
To pull me out of my slump, my girls coerced me to join them for a night out of drinks, fun and some great music provided by a cover band called Velvet Echo. Hot young guys as entertainment, what else could you ask for? An innocent exchange of eye contact with the lead singer will prove to be anything but, guiding my life down a path I never imagined.
At first glance, Lennon seems to embody all of the delicious traits that I devour in the stories I love to read, but soon I will discover that he is so much more. That is the moment I am faced with a choice. Follow society’s expectations or take a chance and let him be my Daddy.
This book had me hooked from the beginning and I couldn’t put it down. Daddy Lennon is just perfect. 😍 He’s everything you could want in a Daddy Dom, he’s just the sweetest. He’s a gentleman in the streets, but a beast in the sheets. 🥵 I also loved the soundtrack and the fact that Drew wrote the songs himself. This provided a really awesome experience and the songs are so good. I love all of them and it’s hard to pick a favorite, but if I had to pick one, it would definitely be Wonderland. This soundtrack is my new favorite, I will listen to it all the time. I think it’s perfect and fitting that this book comes out today. Do yourself a favor and read this book for Valentine’s Day! You will not be disappointed.
Favorite quotes: “See, I take care of you. I may destroy you first, but I will always take care of you.” 🔥
“Speechless, are we?” he chuckles and all I can do is nod. “Just wait until I make you scream my name. Come on, follow me.” 🥵
If you’re craving an empowering, age-gap romance that flips the “middle-aged and invisible” narrative on its head, this story hits all the right notes.
The heroine’s voice is immediately relatable—raw, self-deprecating, and painfully honest. Turning forty-four, freshly divorced, and nursing the sting of being left for a younger woman, she feels like a walking cliché. But what makes this story compelling is how it refuses to let her stay one. Her insecurity isn’t brushed aside; it’s explored. The damage to her self-esteem feels real, especially in a culture that tells women their desirability has an expiration date.
The girls’ night out is the perfect catalyst. It’s fun, chaotic, and just the push she needs. Enter Velvet Echo and their magnetic lead singer, Lennon. What begins as a fleeting exchange of eye contact quickly evolves into something far more electric. The chemistry between them is immediate, but it doesn’t feel shallow. There’s heat, yes—but also curiosity, emotional pull, and an undercurrent of vulnerability that gives their connection weight.
Lennon could have easily been written as a fantasy trope: hot, younger rockstar, dominant energy, confident swagger. And while he absolutely delivers on that fantasy, he’s layered in ways that make him more than just eye candy. His interest in her feels intentional. Reverent. He sees her in a way she hasn’t seen herself in years.
The emotional crux of the story lies in the choice she faces: shrink herself to fit society’s expectations of what a forty-four-year-old divorced woman “should” want—or step boldly into something unconventional and deeply fulfilling. The Daddy dynamic adds a power-exchange element that’s sensual without overpowering the emotional core of the story. It’s less about kink for shock value and more about trust, surrender, and rediscovering desire on her own terms.
This is a story about reclaiming confidence, challenging ageism, and realizing that passion doesn’t disappear just because society says it should. It’s flirty, emotional, and empowering in equal measure.
For readers who love:
* Age-gap romance * Rock star meets “real woman” energy * Rediscovering desire after divorce * Empowerment wrapped in heat * A heroine choosing herself for once
This one proves it’s never too late for a second act—or a love story you didn’t see coming.
One of the things I most appreciate about Drew’s writing is that he is an actively participating and always learning Dominant. He doesn’t write about fantasies or things he thinks he knows. His stories come from true, personal experience and wisdom. There are only a few authors of BDSM fiction who are actively in the lifestyle, regardless of what side of the slash they inhabit, and that participation shines in the works Drew publishes.
Drew’s portrayal of Daddy Lennon is spot on. A gentleman, loving, doting, caring, and an absolute brute behind closed doors. In a way, this book paralleled my own life with how relatable and realistic each turn of the page is. Society has caused women to think of themselves as ticking time bombs. That once the timer runs down to zero, they have nothing desirable left to offer. Here, that notion is debunked page after page. Insecurities are gently broken down, and assurances are made pulsing value back into every heartbeat.
I have previously ARC read for Drew, so I thought I knew what to expect when turning to page 1. Instead, I was pleasantly surprised to find myself immersed in a story of self-reconciliation, emotional support, and spicy confidence building. This book is more than a heat between the sheets read. It’s literary encouragement to women that our value and what we have to offer the world and our lovers does not diminish over time. We are never lessened, never an item of depreciation - we only have one direction to grow, that time enhances us. And that one concept is better than any self-help book could ever hope to accomplish.
I had the chance to ARC read Strings Attached, and this book completely surprised me—in the best possible way.
I went in expecting a fun rockstar spicy romance and came out emotionally wrecked, a little obsessed, and still thinking about these characters long after the final page. This is one of the most genuinely romantic stories I’ve read in a long time, balancing heat, vulnerability, and connection so beautifully.
The chemistry is undeniable—full of tension, sharp wit, and a power dynamic that works. The second-chance romance felt earned, layered with real insecurities and emotional growth that made every moment between them hit harder.
One of my favorite (and most unexpected) elements was the music. The author wrote full lyrics for the band and actually brought them to life with an app, which added an entirely new layer to the story. I’ve been looping “Come Back to Me” nonstop—it perfectly captures the emotional heart of the book.
With its mix of spice, heart, and swoon-worthy romance, Strings Attached feels like the perfect Valentine’s Day release. If you love rockstar romances with depth, heat, and a love story that lingers, this one is absolutely worth your time.
I love reading about mature characters getting their happy ending later in life and the older woman/younger man trope. Strings Attached has both! I loved that Leah’s character was a woman in her 40s with a career, jugging motherhood along with it, and had some of the very real insecurities and life experiences that many women go through. As a divorced cancer survivor, she was leery about getting involved with a sexy, younger musician but took a chance on Lennon. Lennon’s character is fun and flirty but he doesn’t fit the stereotypical musician. He’s instantly attracted to Leah and makes sure she knows it. He eases her into his dominance and kinks, learning her needs, wants, and limits along the way making for some incredibly hot moments and scenes. I liked that as their relationship progressed, Drew A. Lennox didn’t shy away from the obstacles of other people’s judgements about their age difference and the strain his chance at success put on their relationship. All of this added some emotional punches that had me choking up at times. In the end, Lennon refuses to choose between Leah and success, making for the perfect happy ending that left me wanting more.
A chance meeting with interest between Leah and Lennon unfolds despite an age gap . Lennon sees Leah yet Leah carries scars from her previous marriage that need to be resolved along with Leah’s insecurities. Lennon is a Dominant male strong, assured of who he is and successes. Slowly and incrementally he assists Leah in resolving her insecurities and finding herself and accepting who she is and what she really wants. Lennon is patient kind and loving and over time Leah is reborn happy and whole. An alternative lifestyle that works for them. Lennon is swoon worthy in all aspects of a perfect partner and the relationship solidifies . The author is well versed in the lifestyle and the story flows . A very enjoyable read and very enlightening. Definitely a feel good book ! Thank you for the ARC Drew Lennox

This was my first Drew Lennox book, but won't be my last. I couldn’t put it down. I loved the chemistry between Leah and Lennon. The story flowed so well and just kept me engaged. The kink representation was spot on. As a secondary part of the story, I loved that Leah didn’t force her son to do things he didn’t want to. She recognized that he is an adult and can make his own choices.
The playlist Drew wrote for the book made it even better. I saved it so I could go back a listen to it again later.
Synopsis High-heat erotic romance At forty-four, divorced and starting over, she’s convinced her best years are behind her—until a night out puts her face-to-face with the young, sinfully talented lead singer of a cover band. He’s everything she shouldn’t want. Younger. Confident. Completely obsessed with her. What begins as attention she never expected turns into stolen moments, explosive chemistry, and a relationship that makes her feel seen, desired, and powerful for the first time in years. But stepping into his world means letting go of the woman she thought she had to be and risking her heart on a future she never imagined for herself. Because sometimes the strings that tie you down are the ones that set you free. A scorching, emotionally charged age-gap romance about reclaiming your life, your body, and your happily ever after.

Drew Lennox has smashed it out of the park once again with this deliciously addictive read.
Daddy Lennon...yes please! 🥵
I adore Drew's writing style and his magical ability to describe in such intricate detail. In my opinion, Drew writes as close to real life as possible, so right at the beginning of the book, Leah's insecurities are very real and she is so easy to relate with. Not many authors have the gift to make 'real life' appealing and sexy.
There is even an album, written by this incredible author, to run along side the book, you can find it on most streaming platforms and is called 'Velvet Echo'
As a middle aged woman myself, I really enjoyed this story. This was definitely not one of those cougars on the prowl type stories. Lennon and Leah found each other organically. Neither one set out that night to start a May/December romance. And just like any relationship, theirs was not without its ups and downs. Drew Lennox did a fantastic job bringing heart to his characters. I can honestly say that while reading this story, I was taken on a journey through all the feels! Definitely worth the read!
I received an ARC copy of this book from the author and I am leaving my honest review.

I loved this book. Not only did it have such a sweet insta-love relationship between Leah and Lennox but the spice on top of it was amazing. Lennox was just what Leah needed and was there for her in every possible way, he is top tier book boyfriend status.

This book gave me all the feels. I loved the story line and the plot. The characters were well written and I fell in love with them right off the bat. I enjoyed reading this book so much! Daddy Lennon will always have a special place in my heart and my only regret is that I can’t read it again for the first time. I will be reading this book again!!!
These characters have chemistry. They had the cutest meet cute. Leah lacks confidence, no thanks to the ex, but Lennon will give her everything she desires. Lennon is a what wet dreams are made of.

I absolutely loved Strings Attached. It has spice with a good storyline and well rounded characters. I feel Leah is such a relatable character with Lennon being an old soul. The other characters were so much fun, too.
Another hard to put down story from this author. I didn’t want Leah and Lennon’s story to end. I do love an age gap story. Their journey had me turning the pages, the spice was just the right amount and it was just a beautiful story. Highly recommend this book.
