Family Rules: The Sentinels Series Book Three
A decade ago, Saoirse Murphy was forced into an arranged marriage with a crime boss. The only light in her life? Josiah Ford, who was just beginning his military career. Their connection was undeniable, even as duty and danger tore them apart.
Deacon Wolfe, Josiah’s best friend enters the picture and Saoirse finds herself in a web of soul binding friendship and forbidden passion.
Their friendship grew … until the day she told Josiah she was getting divorced, and then vanished without a trace.
Saoirse thought she’d escaped the shadows, but the past has found her. Determined to stay alive, she runs again. This time straight into Josiah’s world. He’s no longer the soldier she once knew. He’s the head of the Sentinels, a covert organization the world believes does cybersecurity… but in reality, they deal in something far deadlier.
Josiah will do anything to protect her, and Deacon is willing to confront his own demons to fight by his best friend’s side.
Despite having the two most important men in her life with her, Saoirse knows the danger doesn’t end with her. Her ex is closing in, and this time he’s coming to burn everything down.
She’ll do anything to keep Josiah and Deacon safe...
Even if it means surrendering herself to the man she once escaped.
But when the past refuses to stay buried, can love be enough to save all of them?
Betrayal runs deep, secrets lie buried, and forbidden love ignites in Family Rules — a dark, steamy romance that will grip your soul. Grab your copy now and experience a passion that will haunt you long after the last page.

A Dark Dance of Romance and Survival
Saoirse Murphy grows up in the shadow of the mafia as the niece of boss Ava. She is forced into a marriage with a brutal man from the same world, a future she has no control over. Just before the wedding, Josiah Ford and Deacon Wolve cross her path, two men who bring an unexpected glimmer of light into a life long surrounded by darkness. Their bond grows stronger, until Saoirse decides to file for divorce and disappears without a trace.
Years later, she has built a new life under a different name. Peace, safety and anonymity finally seem within reach, until her past finds her again. Meanwhile, Josiah has left the military and now runs The Sentinels with his nephews, an organization that operates from the shadows where protection and deadly efficiency go hand in hand. He is willing to risk everything to protect Saoirse. But she is just as determined to keep him and Deacon out of danger, even if it means running again.
Genavie Castle writes with a modern, direct style that effortlessly blends raw emotion, explicit tension and fast-paced action. Themes of danger, power and survival run through the story and give it a dark, intense atmosphere. ‘Family Rules’ is told through multiple perspectives and moves smoothly between present, past and carefully placed memories. These shifts in time are clearly marked and genuinely enhance the story, offering deeper insight into the characters’ motivations, fears and loyalties.
What makes the story stand out is the psychological dynamic between the three main characters. Saoirse evolves from a girl who lives according to others’ rules into a woman who makes her own choices, strong, layered, wounded and determined. Josiah embodies the classic alpha with a conscience, while Deacon provides a quieter but unwavering presence beside him. The romance is intense but never overwhelming; the suspense woven around it makes this book richer and more complete than a typical dark romance.
‘Family Rules’ is the third book in the Sentinel series. It can be read as a standalone, but the previous books add emotional depth and context.
Many thanks to Genavie Castle and Completely Booked PR for providing the ARC of ‘Family Rules’. This is my honest opinion.

Josiah, Saoirse and Deacon are intense in a passionate sense and emotionally. Saoirse has been through so much with Aunt forcing a marriage she doesnt want then to abuse she endures with the horrible mafia husband. As well as falling for Josiah and Deacon and not being able to fully be with them. Josiah and Deacon were in the military together and fell for the same girl which isn't a problem till they find out she dies or does she? There is lots of action and passion in this book. The ending is what had me wanting more for Deacon. But other than that I loved the book!!

Family Rules by Genavie Castle is a haunting and powerful conclusion to The Sentinels Series, bringing together love, loss, danger, and redemption in a story that will stay with you long after the final page. A decade ago, Saoirse Murphy’s life was stolen from her when she was forced into an arranged marriage with a ruthless crime boss. Trapped in a world of power and control, she found an unexpected light in Josiah Ford, a man bound by loyalty and duty who was just beginning his military career. Their connection was instant and undeniable, but fate had other plans. Torn apart by circumstance and danger, their love became a memory neither could fully let go of.
Years later, Deacon Wolfe enters Saoirse’s life. As Josiah’s best friend, Deacon offers her the one thing she has always needed safety, understanding, and a friendship that slowly deepens into something far more complicated. Just when Saoirse begins to imagine a life free of her past, she reveals that she is getting divorced and then disappears without a trace. Her sudden vanishing shatters both Josiah and Deacon, leaving behind questions that will not rest.
Now, years later, the past catches up with her once more. Saoirse has been running, but the shadows she tried to escape have finally found her. Desperate to survive, she runs straight into Josiah’s world again. Only this time, he is not the same man she once knew. Josiah now leads the Sentinels, a secretive organization known to the public for cybersecurity, but in truth, their work is far darker and more dangerous. Beneath the surface lies a network of covert operations and deadly missions that few could ever imagine.
When Josiah discovers Saoirse is in danger, every protective instinct he has ignites. He will do anything to keep her safe, even if it means facing the ghosts of their shared past. Deacon, torn between friendship and forbidden love, stands beside him, confronting his own demons as he fights to protect the woman who once changed both their lives. The three are pulled into a storm of violence, betrayal, and emotion, where the lines between love and loyalty blur until they are almost impossible to see.
As Saoirse’s ex-husband closes in, determined to reclaim her and destroy everything she holds dear, the stakes rise higher than ever. Saoirse knows that saving Josiah and Deacon may cost her everything, including her freedom and her life. But love has always been her greatest strength, and she will not stop fighting for the two men who hold her heart.
Family Rules is a gripping, emotional, and deeply sensual story that explores the complexities of love, the weight of sacrifice, and the lengths people will go to protect those they care for. Genavie Castley delivers a dark and passionate finale that perfectly ties together the threads of loyalty, friendship, and forbidden desire. Every page pulses with tension, every moment burns with feeling, and every secret revealed hits with devastating force. This is a story of love that refuses to die, even in the face of impossible odds—a beautifully written, unforgettable ending to an extraordinary series.

Well this was a wild ride. This is the third book in the series. I personally haven't read the first two and read this as a standalone.
The story dives right in with a touch of the present and then takes you on an emotional journey to the beginning where Saorise and Josiah meet. It's beautiful and so frustrating all at the same time 😭 this book gave me emotional whiplash and I wasn't prepared for it.
The love triangle! I really liked how Deacon fit in to the picture. And the drama with the arranged marriage 🤯
This goes deeper into love, friendship, found family, and loyalty. I loved that author stuck with the survival mode for the FMC. Given everything she has been through even being with the two people she knew would protect her she was still in flight survival mode which added depth to this story. It definitely got action packed towards the end! And I thoroughly that ending ❤️
Tropes to love
✔️Arranged marriage dark romance
✔️Love triangle
✔️Forbidden love
✔️Second chance
✔️Found family

Family Rules by Genavie Castle is a story of love, loss, and finding your way home. Saoirse’s journey had me rooting for her from the very first page. Imagine being sold into an arranged marriage by the only family you’ve ever known—then having to fight for your own happiness and freedom. That’s the heart of Saoirse’s story. After faking her death, she discovers her inner strength, only to have her past come crashing back into her life.
This book perfectly blends dark romance, second chance romance, found family, and untraditional relationships. It has danger, suspense, and just the right amount of spice (and for me, that’s saying a lot—I like them spicy!). I loved the dynamic between Saoirse, Josiah, and Deacon—loyalty, friendship, and forbidden passion collide in a way that kept me completely hooked.
You can read Family Rules as a standalone, but being part of the Sentinels Series adds even more depth to the story. Genavie Castle writes with heart, tension, and a level of emotional depth that lingers long after you finish the last page. If you’re a fan of romance with danger, heat, and found family, this one is a must-read!

So I did this a little out of order. I read Nightmare Girl, skipped Brother’s Sins and then read Family Rules. I’m going to go back and read Brother’s Sins, I just lost track of time! Even though this is a series, I think that it wasn’t a huge deal to read them out of order. There are mentions of the other stories in book 3, but I think you don’t miss any major plot points by reading out of order.
With that being said, I really enjoyed book 3! It was heartbreaking at times, hilarious at others and just ticked me off a couple times!! Saorise was so freaking stubborn!! A lot of the conflict would have been solved with more open communication, but I guess that’s why we read these stories, right? 😁
Deacon and Josiah were perfect! I loved their dynamic, although I did wonder if there was more there!! Great story, great characters and lots of drama and angst! Well worth the read!!!

The mafia world often seems unfair to the women who are born into it and in Saoirse case very unfair. She is a very tough FMC, she’s a survivor. I love the connection she builds with Josiah and the unexpected trio they build with Deacon. I do wish there was a little more of their relationship in the book, but overall I really enjoyed the storyline. This is the third book in the series, I unfortunately have not read the first 2, with this being said I had no issues reading this as a standalone. I was able to dive right in with no issues. I am intrigued and will most likely go back and read the first 2 just because I enjoyed the authors writing style and am interested to learn more about the other characters stories. I would like to thank the author for letting me read this as an ARC, I truly enjoyed reading this book.

So good! This is a read that is one hundred percent about protecting the people you love, fighting to keep the relationships you’ve built, recognizing how special and unique each one is, and slaughtering everyone that threatens any of them. It’s riveting, every single character is intriguing, there are blood baths and explosions, sexy nights and sweet steamy mornings, the relationships between each character are intricate and complex, and what Josiah, Deacon, and Saoirse build together is intimately beautiful. With cameos from the previous Sentinels books, humor that is uniquely the Ford family, and a complex plot of hitmen for hire, two mafia families, stolen secrets, and a fight for freedom, it’s a non-stop can’t put it down dark romance.

This book was a ARC read for me an so this is a no spoiler review. Family Rules is a dark romance with plenty of triggers. So check. Yours . I really enjoyed this book. The love story that spans time is my jam. FMC escaped only to have her past catch up to her. A now she has fallen in to a lost loves world Josiah . The Sentinels an cybersecurity business operated owned by Josiah . Or this there more to the cybersecurity business .??? I gave this book 4⭐️

I received this book as an ARC, so I won’t put in any spoilers. This book took me on a wild ride. Josiah, Saoirse, and Deacon are definitely great for each other. This book made me feel all the emotions. Happy, sad, mad, and angry. If you are looking for a book that makes you feel everything then this is the book for you.

Military Billionaire Dark Romance. It is MMF she likes them both...and that was definitely ok with me!

Family Rules was a cute but slow book, and I didn’t love it; the details weren’t as attention-grabbing as I wanted. This book is four stars for me since, while I felt it lacked the detail I was hoping for, the structure and bones of the book were still there.

This book was a very good read. There is the cheating trope, but does it count when your evil aunt sells you into a forced marriage with the old guy on your 18th birthday? I think not. In my eyes her life and soul mate were ripped away from her before she even got a chance to live.
Meet Josiah (Jo) and his best friend Deacon. New military and future Sentinals.
The book starts off on her birthday and then moves along at a pace of a few years at a time for a slow drawn out relationship basis for her and Jo.
It's a hard life for Soairce. She has no freedom and can only be truly happy when she is able to escape her confines with the aid of her brother to cover her tracks.
There is a lot of violence, spice and othe triggers in this book to be aware of, But a great last read for this trilogy.
