This will be a night to die for, sweetheart…Cassidy
I needed to start over.
My job was great, but not really going anywhere. My ex got too clingy, too fast. My rent was outrageous, and I went no contact with my parents when they couldn't understand why I needed to run.
Shadowvale promised a new start. A new life. A town that has its own superstitions when it comes to Halloween, I was looking forward to the holiday… until things began to get weird.
I feel like I’m being followed. No one knows I’m here, but I can’t shake the sensation that someone is out there. Watching me. Like I’m being haunted or something.
It’s weird, but I chalk it up to the spooky season. Plus, there’s something about the diner where I’m working… it draws all types.
It drew him.
Johnny Gray. He showed up at breakfast, asked me out for lunch, and by dinner… I was his dinner. It’s a Halloween to remember, and if he seems both obsessed with and blasé over ‘tomorrow’, I decide to just live in the moment.
Too bad Johnny can’t.
Because my supposed one-night-stand?
He died in 1953.
Johnny
When I died, I lost two the race, and my girl.
They say ghosts stick around because they have unfinished business. I guess I’m proof of that because I’m still here, still haunting Shadowvale, decades after I bit it.
Because of her. Because of my Cassie.
Only Cassie… she died the same night I did, after she made me promise to wait for her. But she didn’t do the same for me. She moved on.
I didn’t.
And then Cassidy walked right into my town and I knew she was what I’ve been waiting for. She’s my Cassie returned to me, and I won’t let this one get away.
Death can’t stop me. And Halloween? In Shadowvale, where the veil between worlds is flimsy as hell, I can become a Living myself for one day only.
This year, I plan to spend it with Cassidy. And when the night is over, I’ll have one question for
Will you still love me tomorrow?
* Tonight You’re Mine is a twisted Halloween romance where there’s definitely a HEA because Johnny? He’s playing for that ever.
Tonight You’re Mine is a short Halloween romance about a ghost, Johnny Gray, who comes back every year on Halloween when the veil is thin. He originally was racing his car with his girlfriend, Cassie, in the passenger seat on Halloween night when they crashed and died. She passed on, he stayed as a ghost.
I was really intrigued by a ghost romance story, as I’ve only read one before. I did like that Johnny was able to move throughout the town and wasn’t stuck just at his crash site.
Because the novel is shorter, I did find a lot of plot holes and things that could’ve been more flushed out. There was instant love, which isn’t my cup of tea, but I know lots of others enjoy that.
I don’t understand how her crazy ex Ryan managed to find her basically in the middle of no where. Sure, maybe town, but he found her at Johnny’s crash site in the forest? It was also super weird of her friend to leave her there. I don’t care if my friend begged me, I’m not leaving them unattended in a dark forest.
It also didn’t sit well with me that Johnny inhabited Ryan’s body. Yes, in theory it was a cool idea and meant that he could live with Cassidy forever, but she also had to marry and see the face of a man who tried to kill her and was abusive? I wish it was someone else he inhabited because that part gave me the ick.
One thing that I did really enjoy was the option of having two endings. I haven’t read a book like that since I was a kid (and they were my fav), so I thought it was super cool of Carin Hart to offer 1 of 2 endings for us to choose.
If you’re a fan of these things, you may enjoy this:

I thoroughly enjoyed myself with this. I love how the author blended current times with 1950 slang when Johnny talked to himself as well as when he talked to Cassidy. The 50 slangs had me cackling because why did he say muff that was hilarious. This is probably one of the craziest love stories I have read a butt in the best possible way. Great first read from my author.
🖤 𝓻𝓮𝓿𝓲𝓮𝔀🖤 This book hits you like a freight train right at the beginning and drags you into a storyline you won’t want to put down. The emotional rollercoaster that tosses you into spirals is riveting and a unique outlook on a paranormal romance. Probably one of my favorite holiday themed novels that I will want to read every year because it was just that impactful of a story.
*spoilers*
Johnny is a high-class greaser in 1953 who decides against his girlfriend’s opinions to partake in a race because he knows the road like the back of his hand. But things spiral morbidly when he wreaks his car, watching life drain before his eyes as he hears Cassie beside him.
Present day, Cassidy is a waitress who works hard. Often bringing up memories of Maddie, she continues to over-perform her job duties. She is constantly watching her back in case her ex shows up, who has been stalking her since she left home. But one night, as she is fatigued from work, she gets a hot feeling that courses through her body. And a pair of blue eyes that stare at her. With Halloween approaching, the veil between the dead and the living is growing thin. And he's tired of being a virgin after all these years. So, when he sets his sight on Cassidy, he decides that she will be the one to make him whole again.
What's not to like about this cute and spicy little romance between a greaser ghost and the incarnation of his first love. This pulls you in from the beginning scene that explains how Johnny became this way and does not let go until you reach that climatic ending. I was flowing through pages, wanting to know what was going to happen and how Haloween night was going to go between these star-crossed lovers. I had My Wife by Hart already on my TBR list but may have to push that up near the top now because this novel literally made me an avid reader for the author. If you're looking for a Halloween-themed paranormal romance with spice, this is one you can't pass up.
This book has taught me that I need to make sure I'm sexy all the time for any ghost that may be watching me. Especially if that ghost is like Johnny Gray. Oh my 😍
@carinhartbooks did an absolutely amazing job on this book. And the multiple endings was awesome, I love that and have never seen that in a book. Getting to choose how it ends was my favorite part.

"I don't know if I say the word. If I can manage to spit it out, or if I only mean it down to the depths of my soul. But I do. Mean it. She's my girl, and not even death will be enough to keep me from loving her."
"I swear to God, I'm being haunted by Casper the horny ghost."
Cassidy: "Do you know how many calories are in one of those things?" Johnny: "Dunno. But if drinking milkshakes is what gave you a body like that, I should've ordered you a vanilla one to."
"I told you I was hungry. If I can eat pussy for the rest of my life and survive, I'll do it. I give you my word."

I’m obsessed with anything 1950’s so I was intrigued by the concept of Tonight You’re Mine. Let me start by saying, I loved it. It’s a quick read at about 177 pages and perfect for Halloween.
Cassidy Montrose is new to the town of Shadowvale. She’s trying to escape her past but hoping she can finally settle down in this spooky little town. Finding work at a diner, she’s taken under the wing of Em, the owner and as Halloween approaches, starts to realize what a big deal Halloween is in Shadowvale.
Johnny Gray died in 1953. It wasn’t supposed to happen. A Greaser who was the best drag racer, he got cut off on what became known as Scotty’s Curve (which he hates the name of) and he crashed and died….but he didn’t just lose his life, his girl Cassie was along for the ride and he had to watch her take her last breath…
Now every Halloween Johnny has one night when he becomes a “Living” again, flesh and blood, until midnight when the veil takes him back again…and he’s seen Cassidy and he’s determined that he’s going to make her his…if only for one night. Tonight You’re Mine is completely different than anything I’ve read before and gives you the option of two different endings…(I went with the second choice).
Arghh I loved this book!! A nice short read, but just enough to cover everything needed, well almost everything! Cassidy has been on the run from her ex for a long time. She finally settles in a small town. A town that enjoys Halloween and harbors secrets, that of a haunting. The night of Halloween, James Grey enters the diner she works at. And the spark between them, is lit! James Grey, James Dean vibes, insta love, cool, manly, all the vibes you get from a 50’s bad guy vibe, but underneath a sensitive drool-worthy good guy! Cassidy, normally shelters her heart, is such a goner. ( moi aussi girl, Me too!) Their 🌶️ is delicious!! Elaborate, written in detail, like 🤤🤤
The overal story was really really nice! Especially the ending. Which would I choose? Hmmm either the first or the official, and that’s all Im saying! I don’t want to spoil🫣🤣 One thing though, but I am wondering if the author will make separate book about that, the serial killer? The twins? Will there be a book about them? I.Cannot.wait!!! Yeah this is a 5/5⭐️ for me!

"Will you still love me tomorrow?" "Can I keep you?
I don't know which makes me swoon more. Caspers "Can I keep you?" To Christina Ricci on his one night as a living. Or Johnny's "will you still love me tomorrow?" On his one night? Yes
I absolutely loved this book so much. I have to admit, with a dedication like that, I had some high expectations. I was not disappointed. This book was basically Casper meets Grease. Johnny was giving me strong Danny Zuko vibes. Both of those are my personal opinions, idk if everyone will get those vibes, but I'm obsessed. This was a perfect almost Halloween read. I definitely recommend. And the fact that there was alternate HEA endings that the reader could chose how they preferred it to end? That was awesome. I honestly don't know which one was better. Read for yourself to decide.
I had such a good time with this. We uncover another story and another secret from the mysterious town of Shadowvale in this book. I didn’t read any reviews or look for any info on release day and I was glad I went in that way. This book has a real treat towards the end and it was a lot of fun. I’m certainly not spoiling it! Fingers crossed we learn more secrets from Shadowvale in the future. There certainly feels like there are plenty to unfold from this town, that seems to be hard to find unless you’re an unsuspecting FMC looking fpr a new start. Perfect Halloween read, even without the Reeds :)!
Carin gave this book the right amount of heat plus plot within the whole book.
Ghosts from the 50s to the now living. Hidden secrets kept within the town, too. I mean, what could go wrong - right? WRONG. Cass is running away from the past she no longer wanted to live in, including her abusive relationship. She left an amazing job and started to find her true self. And then, came Johnny - the ghost. The ghost of the town and the ghost that haunts Cass... in all the wrong and right ways. Johnny is selfish, but he's stuck. How does he get past it? How does Cass get through her past? With two endings that Carin gave to us so we can chose which ending we wanted - this is a suspensful ending.

Tonight You’re Mine by Carin Hart is a dark Halloween romance. This was such a great short and entertaining story. I read this book in one sitting. This book had spice but still had a great plotline. I liked the characters and their chemistry. This had all the spooky vibes for Halloween. The paranormal aspect made things interesting. I really loved how I got to choose the type of ending the MCs got. I have never read a book like that and I really enjoyed it. I still read both ending and I loved them both equally. Carin Hart did a great job with this one! I highly recommend this book!
I really liked this. I felt like there was background and we got to see these characters for who they are. It was sweet, heartwarming, heart breaking and I had all the feels. Plus who didn't watch Casper as a kid and MELT when he said "Can I keep you?" ummm please?!
I love how Clue played into this as well. It's one of my all time favorite movies and this book reminded me of that at the end. Very well done.
Oh and the town? The mention of the twins? Heck yes!
I have read every book that Carin Hart has put and I am yet to be disappointed!! This woman had me at The devil’s Bargain, I was neck deep by the time I finished that series and now everything she puts out is an auto buy! Including this book. Every woman needs a Johnny Gray in their life and I wish I had one. Two endings and I get to choose which one I like most, oh she’s spoils us!!
"something inside me cracks worse than the windshield did as I vow: "always.""
***spoiler of sorts****
Ok, this was totally going to be four stars because I needed more of this book. I am easily sucked back into the Shadowvale world that Carin Hart has built.
Also... I really, really loved how you gave us, your readers, a chance to change the story!! 😍😍😍

I’m obsessed with this! I loved every second of this story. I don’t know if it was the Grease obsessed girl in me or what, but this book played out like a movie in my head. The ending was the best. Definitely a perfect Halloween read!
This was a perfect read for Halloween. A woman running from her past finds herself in a town filled with ghost stories, and she just can't shake the feeling that someone is always watching her. But on Halloween? The ghosts come out to play.
I LOVED this book! It's an amazing book for this Halloween season. Lots of steam and a great plot! Johnny and Cassidy are hot together, and Johnny would do anything to keep her. I loved every second of it!
I love the concept of book bein in the 1950s, and Johnny being a ghost but coming more real during halloween tille the end and how he and cassidy fell for each but it was also bit confusing at times for me and I found it very slow
I received this as an ARC in exchange for an honest review. This book was great. It was fast paced and a great story that blended the 50’s with current time. Perfect for Halloween!
