Straight to the action we have a storm and our main character is working in a wellness sanctuary. What happens when her ex shows up? “Grey eyes through rain. Sharp. Closed. The past cut into his mouth.” What happened before?
A twist at the beginning and it's so unexpected.
Fast paced, action packed and you can tell that Gwynne has done extensive research into the job of medical staff. It makes you feel all kinds of emotions.
Shocking event after shocking event.
This book is Steamy.
It's heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time.
Both our characters have had hard pasts which have shaped them to who they are today, can they hold each other together?
A big decision. A life at risk. This is intense.
“Do not rewrite your record to fit a smear” This is so inspirational. We have all had our challenges in life but it's important that we don't let those things consume us.
“Love is not rescue. It is respect and the work” Truer words have not been said.
Will Tony come back to save the day, or will he leave again?
A break in.
The ending. Wow, it was so powerful. I was holding my breath reading it.
The pages kept turning. My only criticism is that it was confusing in some places but explained well in the end. Some may even say those scenes create intrigue because we don't know what's going on, like maybe we are not supposed to in those moments. The characters are as unsure as we are as they navigate what is going on.

Tony and Selena's Story
This is a very interesting story about a billionaire cardiothoracic surgeon who developed PTSD after losing 4 patients in 5 days, resulting in a stress tremor in his hand. When this happened, Tony ghosted Selena, a nurse who had been his partner and was pregnant, although he did not know it.
The story is set 6 years later. Their daughter has a serious heart condition. Selena is director at a facility that treats PTSD in first responders and veterans. Tony funds it but doesn't know Selena is involved and she doesn't know that he is the anonymous funder.
The story becomes very complicated, with a villain falsifing information to revenge Tony.
The writing style is very clipped and clinical, which is why I downgraded the rating from 5 to 4 stars.

This story has so much in it. A little girl with a heart condition, a mother who runs a facility with alternative therapies and the doctor who has funded the facility, who walked away from the woman due to a trauma and who is also the little girls daddy.
And add in a man who is trying to get the center closed by telling lies. It has so much in it but you can't help but root for the good guys and love the characters. Especially the 6 yr old little girl.

A second chance romance that took six years to achieve. Due to traumatic circumstances, unrevealed reasons, and unexpected outcome makes this reading a must. Tony and Selena’s journey is heartbreaking, emotionally driven and passionately felt and together, for the love of their daughter, will stop at nothing to save her life. A very compassionate reading that will capture you from the start the way it did me. Gwynne Hart is an amazing author and has the amazing ability to capture , attract and compel you to her books.

The writing style was distracting. It felt like slogging through bullet points. I wasn’t always sure if Tony or Selena was in first person.
But I just finished it and don’t know if I missed it or not, but I don’t understand why Pike was coming after the wellness center and Selena?
Overall, PTSD is potentially going to be dark and this is a pretty depressing book. Maybe some readers need to understand the grounding techniques. It wasn’t a fun read.
I knew there was a HEA coming, but I didn’t feel an ounce of chemistry between Tony and Selena.

A great read. Following this timeline to success is definitely keeping me hooked on the story. PTSD is difficult to manage sometimes, but when you have the right tools and support, you follow through. Serena had made the hard choices, carried the burdens. And just got stronger all the time. Meeting up with Tony again and both deciding to work through the issues facing them, is a step by step exercise, with constant clarification and support.

This book has it all. The author has covered Dr meets woman, demons lie in wake, years pass, reunited to learn of a child.
Obstacles stand in the way, lost love rekindles to forge forward.
This all briefly hints at what the chapters hold. Each word paints a picture, clinical and otherwise.

Plenty of steam and action, included is inspiration that can't be missed.

Hang on because this romance book is going to take you on one heck of a ride. This book has hot romance, second chances and a secret that Selena never told Tony until several years passed by and he learns he has a daughter. This romance book is honestly without a doubt the BEST EVER. It had my full attention just looking at the cover. This book gets a 20 out of 20 stars ⭐️ and much much more.

medical knowledge required?
I found this a very difficult read, I stuck with it to the end but I haven’t a clue about most of the story. The medical terms, the speech and the protocols were baffling as I have no knowledge of medical procedures. Later in the book the I.T. Terminology I had never heard of nearly ended the book for me.

A little hard to follow
I am a retired nurse in Australia & found the book somewhat hard to follow. Some of the American terminology & phrases showed that even though we all speak english there are differences. Still, I can not help but admire your knowledge on the subject in this book.

Tony and Selena are reunited unexpectedly during a summer storm. An emotionally charged read with plenty of drama, second chances, a sick child, and sizzling chemistry.

This is a great second chance story. Tony and Selena have a child together but Tony doesn’t know it. They meet back up and he finds out. The chemistry and live is still there. So good.
