HARVEST ME: an unhinged halloween tale

When Tasmin returns to her grandmother’s farmhouse on Halloween, she expects dust, forgotten knickknacks, and maybe a ghost or two from her childhood past. What she doesn’t expect are two scarecrows — no longer lifeless guardians of the cornfield, but creatures of straw and sin, awakened beneath the Hallows Eve moon.
Lured by whispers on the wind, Tasmin finds herself caught in their orbit, tangled in an ache she can’t quite name.
She’ll learn that not all monsters want to hurt you... some just want to consume you.
Is she ready to surrender?

Absolutely unhinged and I loved every kernel of it.
Two scarecrows, one human, and enough corn innuendo to fuel every harvest fantasy imaginable. It’s filthy, ridiculous, and somehow still hilarious. I’ll never look at a cornfield (or a little red Hyundai) the same way again. 🌽

Harvest Me: An Unhinged Hallows Eve Tale by Sommer-Lee Deaves is the chaotic, hilarious, and unexpectedly intense Halloween story you didn’t know you needed, seriously!
First of all, thank you to Sommer-Lee Deaves for the ARC of this hallow eve's tale! I’m leaving this honest review voluntarily, and I’m so grateful to have had the chance to dive into this festive, spicy, and full of corn halloween story - Harvest Me.
So what you should know about this story:
🌽 MMF (oh yes, you know that it's my fav, and I recommend them all the time!)
🎃 shmeksyyyy scarecrows (i mean, wow, they are the beauty in disguise)
🌽 funny heroine, coz she is funny and lucky at the same time (haha! you will see why!)
🎃 if you love corn, read it, it has many many shmeksyyyy corn moments, you are welcome!
🌽 and ofc halloween vibes, perfect for reading in October for some spooky and spicy bedtime story, but do have your items prepared in the nearest drawer (iykyk)
Second of all, I’m beyond proud and grateful to have illustrated the cover (thank you, Sommer, for letting me do this, it was such a fun project!), which turned out bright, cheerful, and just a little mischievous, just a perfect match for the story inside! GO READ IT NOW SERIOUSLY!
Usually, when I draw commissioned art, I’m focused on the visuals.
But this time?
The story grabbed me by the collar and didn’t let go. I was completely captivated!!! Bravo to Sommer coz she did such a great job here! WOW!
Who knew scarecrows in cornfields could be so… intriguing? If you know, you know.
I even found myself Googling corn-based products after reading and yes, they EXIST, and yes, I went down that rabbit hole with zero regrets 😂 that was FUN! HAHAHAHAHAHA!
What makes this tale stand out is its wild mix of humor, creepiness, and Halloween charm. It’s bright, bizarre, and surprisingly deep and CORNy (horny + corn you know? hehehe, i hope you got the joke right).
If you’ve ever been spooked by scarecrows or uneasy in cornfields, prepare to have your perspective flipped.
You might just come out of this story a changed person. I'm a new person now for sure.
10/10 and recommend with all my heart and festive giggles!🎃
