What? This book was less than 200 pages, but had more action, suspense, romance, and sex than some books that are 400 pages. I want a Remy, smoking, hot SEAL with a group of buddies that I can't wait to read more about. Mitchell was pretty awesome too, especially going out on a limb for a BFF. Now I have to go back and read the first book.

Remy LaDue and Mitchell Sanders made a mistake and sleep with each other after his best friend's and her boyfriend's funeral. After that, they keep in touch as they both grieve and go on with their jobs(Remy is a SEAL and Mitchell is an NCIS Agent). They make a date for Valentine's day if they are both stateside but when Remy gets back he finds Mitchell deep undercover and in need of help. Good thing she has backup in Remy and his SEAL Team.

I loved the characters in this book. Remy is so sweet and sexy one of my combos in a hero and he is head over heels in love with Mitchell. Mitchell is independent strong and can take care of herself in a fight, but she has such a caring side. Remy and Mitchell are both very devoted to their jobs(Remy is a SEAL and Mitchell in an NCIS Agent). I love a heroine who loves her job and her boyfriend understands and respects that. I hate it when the hero doesn't respect that the heroine has an important job that she loves or Vise Versa. Remy and Mitchell both had to deal with the guilt they felt about sleeping together after the funeral and thought the author wrote that very well. Remy and Mitchell have great chemistry and you can tell how much they respect and love each other. This book is very exciting and I read it in one sitting. My only complaint is I wish this book had been longer because I loved the characters and story so much. If you love action, romance, and suspense I highly recommend this book and I can't wait to read the rest of the series.

SEAL’s Desire by Elle James is a novella that loads a lot of punch into its pages. Part steamy romance and part action packed suspense, you’ll find yourself quickly swept up in the story of an NCIS agent who’s out to find a missing friend. Mitchell Sanders is the sort of woman you cheer for, because she is willing to do whatever it takes to find her missing buddy, Kelli. In this case that means going undercover as a stripper/dancer/prostitute.

Mitchell has a past, like all women, and it involves SEAL team leader, Remy “Gator” LaDue. The lover of one of Remy’s now dead comrades, they had a one night stand after the funeral, one explosive night of passion neither of them has ever forgotten, despite the guilt that drove them away from each other. When Remy’s team decides to stop by a strip club on Valentine’s Day, he’s shocked to discover the dancer shaking her goods all over the stage is none other than his missing date for the evening.

When Remy finds out she’s solo and unofficially chasing down the bad guys, Mitchell gets the backup team to end all backup teams. The action is solid, the pacing terrific, and you really DO cheer these two on and hope they can work past their guilt to find their happily ever after. Steamy passion, solid story, and a cast of very intriguing characters, this tale has it all and is very enjoyable! Nicely done, Ms. James.

ARC provided by the Publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

This novella gets an extra star just for having a really intelligent, not to mention hot, heroine. So I guess that means is gets 6 stars from me, even though I can only post 5 stars. This book is way to short. It was like reading the last 100 pages of a really great full length book. This would have been so good in full length. It is also my favorite type of romantic-suspense: The hero and heroine work together to solve the problem.

Mitchell is an NCIS agent whose best friend, Kelli, is a Navy Lt. Commander who is missing. NCIS assigned the case to an agent who isn't doing everything he can to find her. Mitchell takes leave and goes undercover as an erotic dancer to find Kelli.

Remy is a SEAL who lost his best friend in combat a year ago. Mitchell was dating the friend at the time, but Remy had already noticed her and when the friend died, he was there to aid and comfort Mitchell. He returns a year later to, hopefully, resume a relationship with Mitchell, one not based on grief and guilt. He finds her in the middle of her undercover operation, without backup, and agrees to help.

Review Copy from the Publisher

SEAL’s desire is the second volume in the Take no prisoners romantic suspense series, by Elle James. I don’t remember having read her books, yet she’s published in France by Harlequin.
The series is composed of 5 volumes, and the heroes are members of the same SEAL team. However, the 5th installment, SEAL’s proposal, tells the sequel of Remy and Mitchell’s story, who are the heroes in SEAL’s desire.
The other volumes are: 1- SEAL’s honor, 3- SEAL’s embrace and 4- SEAL’s obsession.

I liked the book on the whole. However I had a little problem with the hot scenes that I will explain later in my review. In any case, I found that the characters were nice, I liked the interaction between the heroes and the other members of the SEAL team, and I loved the determination of our two heroes, while the circumstances were not easy.

Indeed, Mitchell Sanders was the girlfriend of Remy LaDue’s buddy, who died on a mission. His name was Brewsky. The two heroes have known each other for some time now. And Remy has been attracted by her since their encounter. As for the heroine, the reader learns about her feelings as we go along our reading. I won’t tell more here and let you discover about that. All I can say is that I loved the way the author exploited the feelings between our heroes, between guilt, pain and their desire to have a chance together. It was even less so easy given that our heroes slept together the day Brewsky was buried. But as I already said, the author succeeded in managing her story very well.

The suspense side of SEAL’s desire is brought by the fact that the heroine is looking for her best friend and colleague, Kelli. The latter is declared missing. Mitchell is an NCIS agent and to find her friend, she decides to work as a stripper in the bar owned by Kelli’s latest boyfriend.

The story is short so the action must be fast. Some readers may be frustrated but I found that the author succeeded in managing the action, the evolution of the relationship between the characters and the hot scenes. And all of that in a few pages.
However, I had a little problem with the hot scenes. Because there were some SM scenes. Yes, they were light but when the thighs are red, we know what that means. I’m not very fond of those scenes, and I prefer when the writer notices them in the description of the book. Maybe for some writers, those kind of scenes are becoming the norm, but I tend to prefer “normal” hot scenes, i.e. without spankings, or else. The pain in sexual relations are not usual for me.

This little negative aspect won’t stop me from reading the others installments in the series because I liked the author’s style, and there’s no doubt about it, when heroes know what they want and are determined to have it, I say yes !

In SEAL's Desire Navy SEAL Remy LaDue wants NCIS agent Mitchell Sanders and she wants him but it is complicated. She was his best friend's financé when he was killed in the line of duty. Remy returns home from a deployment with the hopes of a date with Mitchell on Valentine's day a year after his friend's death but Mitchell is undercover with no backup. He finds her dancing in a strip club looking for her best friend that has disappeared.

No way will Remy and his team leave Mitchell without backup and being a bunch of loud rowdy Navy men at the local strip club with their vehicles ready to roll when Mitchell goes out the backdoor with the owner. They are able to follow her electronically thanks to the chip under her skin and go into full search and recover teams' operation to try to take down the sex trafficking ring under investigation.

Remy and Mitch's story was just as fast paced and full of action and hot sex as the first novel in the series. She is undercover in a strip club and tells the boss she is only there to dance, not have sex. Well Remy shows up at the club and almost blows her cover. She is being watched and she and Remy go to a seedy hotel for a hookup. Mitch is sort for Mitchell and it got a little confusing for me at times because I have never heard that name use for a woman before. Anyway it was a good fast read but again I missed an epilogue as in were the bad guys sentenced? There really aren't background stories here, it's like watching one or two scenes unfold in a movie but not being able to watch the whole thing. That's not a bad thing, it makes for a fast paced story.

What just happened?!

This short novella is all over the place. The characters are poorly developed and the lack of plot make this an unmemorable mass of words. Remy/Gator and Mitchell’s relationship started at ten and zeroed out as fast as it started. Fish, Nacho, Dustman, and Big Bird...Worst bunch of nicknames ever. Sanchez and Irish aren’t as bad which makes me wonder if they’re with the wrong team!

Not a good story. Indifferent characters and a boring, undeveloped plot sink this tale. I don’t recommend, but if you must, proceed with caution.

After 10 years in the Navy and the Seals Axel Svenson “Swede” is at a loss when he joins his brother Seal in his new business Brotherhood Protectors. His first assignment is to keep his buddys sister safe from the threat that is putting her in danger unless Swede and her brother can find out who is behind the threats. The closer she gets to the wedding the more she begins to question if she really is in love with her fiance after he leaves her to clean up a mess at his ranch and can not be bothered to return her calls the week before the wedding. This is a great romance with a lot of action and keeping you guessing who is trying to kill Allie Patterson. I look forward to reading more from Elle James.

I listened to the audiobook of this short SEAL tale. I'm not sure if it would have been the same if i had purchased it, but after the book supposedly ended, it started over at Chapter 1. Definitely wasn't one of my favorites. Not because of the narration or tech issues, but the story.

I can understand Remy and Mitchell feeling conflicted about what happened after his best friend's death. Honestly, how conflicted can you be if you made a date for Valentine Day?

Then, the trying to save my friend with no backup; the people following Remy, the strip club situation, and the subsequent actions that followed all seemed farfetched to me.

I think it ended in an HEA, but like I said earlier, Chapter one started over again.

Meh

The story was rushed, sloppily written, had some grammatical issues, and there was no real character arcs to speak of. It left a lot to be desired.
My biggest pet peeve with Elle James books was present in this one, too--the use of the word nubbin for a woman's clitoris. That has got to be THE worst word you could possibly pick for a synonym! It's not at all sexy, and is, in fact, a very silly sounding word. Call it by it's actual name, call it a bundle of nerves, call it a magic switch, or literally anything else! I cringe everytime I read it and it immediately douses any heat her sex scene may have generated. Although, to be frank, Elle doesn't really have steamy sex scenes, in my opinion. I've never found them to be all that arousing.

Ahhh, hot sexy macho Navy Seals; need I say more?

It takes a strong woman to stand by her Navy Seal. Tough NCIS agent Mitchell is just the gal for seal Remy. Will their past relationship with former seal Garrett--fiance and best friend--hinder Mitchell and Remy moving forth a year after Garrett's death? Remy is back stateside after a recent deployment, however Mitchell is working underecover to find her missing friend. Lots of intrigue and action as this couple try being there for one another amid the strong chemistry sparking between them.

For 94 pages this book was amazing! It was full of action, sex and energy. SEAL's Desire was one of the best books that I have read lately.

In Remy's and Mitchell's story, a SEAL and an NCIS agent go looking for Mitchell's missing friend. They work together with the rest of the SEAL team to find her.

I gave this book 5 stars because of the fast pace and high energy and I rarely give 5 stars. This book could have been at least 300 pages with the amount of story line. The shortness was good but I was finished it way to fast.

A faced paced romance thriller. Marshall, a NCIS agent, went under cover without the knowledge of her superiors after her friend went missing. She suspects she will uncover a possible human trafficking ring with the help of a Navy SEAL, Remy, and his team. Since this was a quick read, the character development skimmed the surface. Their love story is interesting on how it developed. Pretty good read.

Navy Seal Remy LeDue is back home of leave...just before Valentine's Day...and he's ready to make a move on his best friend, Mitchell. Remy has always carried a torch for Mitchell, but she was his best friend's girl. Then the night of said best friend's funeral, Remy slept with Mitchell and then she kicked him out. However, over the past year, they reconnected via email and have a pre-arranged date for Valentine's day...only Mitchell is nowhere to be found. Remy discovers Mitchell undercover at a strip club...she believes this is where she will find information as to the location of a missing friend...and he volunteers to help. Bad guys, drugs, human trafficking, all par for the course in this romantic suspense...oh, let's not forget Remy's hunky Seal friends! Fairly short story but packed with so much action that you'll never be bored.

Same story

I enjoyed the premise of the book. Female attempting to save female best friend from sex traffic ring-however the SEALS do the saving. After rescue the ladies recovered and went on with life. I would have liked the book a little more dealing with the kelli recovery. Like true Elle James she sucks you in so you have to read the next book the. The next book. and so on

What a Valentine's Date

3.5 Stars - Remy and Mitchell's story flew by at a great pace, which means it kept me interested. Their story was much better than book one. Both of these characters are dealing with guilt, but they made a promise to each person other... If neither had a date for Valentine's Day, they would go out. Unfortunately, Remy figures out fairly quickly there is a problem.

Confusing. Exciting, horrible, how people can treat women like this? . Mitchell us all out to save her friend Kelli. She goes out rogue. Remy has loved Mitchell since the day he met her.but his best friend claimed her first. And there is a brother code you follow. . His best friend dies in combat, but dan Mitchell and Remy survive that loss and find love. Will the team save Mitchell from traffickers? Read on. There needs to be more of an ending instead of leaving you hanging.

Mission of love

Short and sassy, this book tackles the sex trade and blossoming love. A deal on a personal mission of love winds up with an urgent mission of rescue as well. This is a quick read to pass your afternoon with and maybe get a little bit and bothered as well. Who can pass up a hot Seal?

Spicy story about a NCIS agent looking for her missing from theirfriend, and the guy who wants her.

When her best friend disappears, and her boss takes her off the case, Mitchell takes time off to find her herself. A long time make friend returns from deployment in time to find them both missing, so he and his team go into action to find them both.

Yeah, this one was smoking hot! Lots of action, a good backstory, and a great plot that moves at breakneck speed without losing any detail in the telling. Lots of well choreographed spice in the romance department, but just a tad confusing during the action scenes. Cleanly edited, well plotted, and good character development give this story a thumb's up!

I love SEAL books. This particular book moved quickly and nothing was dragged out. The team rescued the girls in typical SEAL efficiency. It was over before I could blink. Nice book, but was disappointed that it was over so quickly.

Seal’s Desire

Another good book from Elle James. Hunky alpha hero character and a feminine but strong heroine character both of whom are struggling with the loss of a teammate/fiancé and a light touch on the human trafficking issue. All with an HEA.
