Temptation Under the Christmas Lights

When Ember joins Nick to spend Christmas with his family, it feels as though she steps into a warm living room where the lights have been glowing for days. One glance at Oakley, Nick’s brother, and something slips into place that she never expected: a quiet, magnetic tension that needs no words. Oakley tries to ignore it. Ember does too. But Nick seems to take far more pleasure in it than he should and makes a move that changes everything.

Jade Church writes with a tender hand. Her sentences flow easily, carrying that addictive rhythm that makes you say “just one more chapter,” until suddenly you are on the final page. Church knows exactly how to cultivate romantic tension. There are no cheap jumps, only a slow-burn current you can feel in every look and every touch.

Nick uses Ember almost like a pawn, while she tries to hold on to loyalty and safety. It creates a friction that suits the dynamic between the three characters: uncomfortable, intriguing, and just sharp enough to keep you turning the pages. Ember is caught between desire and decency, and Church makes that grey area palpable without weighing the story down unnecessarily.

‘All He Wants’ is not a book that demands deep character studies or complex intrigue. It is the chocolate biscuit beside a mug of hot cocoa: comforting, soft, gone quickly, and exactly what you need for a moment of pure escapism. The characters may not be deeply layered, but the story does not ask for it. The tension between Ember, Nick and Oakley carries the plot, not their inner demons.

If you are seeking heavy cliffhangers or dark twists, you will likely run into a wall of Christmas lights here. But if you are looking for a spicy holiday romance that reads like a movie you find yourself secretly grinning at, Church delivers exactly what you want and perhaps a little more.

All He Wants is the dose of smut you need during the holidays.I would say it's like a flame.
Short,fast but if you let yourself near it will burn you.
Our story is happening around christmas time,with those dark-ish x-mas vibes that leave you unable to stop reading being here + I really got a mysterious energy that suited the genre so well!

More,the SMUT.Being the main stuff on the story,Church literally ate and left no crubs.There was love and obsession,and while sometimes guilt tried to get into the Ember's mind,it was made sure that it would be erased the moment that got in here.
So,if you are wondering why choose?All He Wants is for you,because this time choice is forbidden.

Wait I loved this book! It was such a fun and easy read and I love the way the author builds the tension in this book! It is so addicting!

Oakley is my absolute favorite and holy reading his scenes were so good BAHAHA. This is a why choose between a couple and the MMC’s brother and it’s a cozy winter vibes!!

I’m not usually a fan of holiday books but this one changed it for me. I loved the length of the book and the characters interact with each other hehe. Would recommend!

This is such a great holiday steamy MFM romance and I just loved it!!
It’s obvious that Nick and Ember love each other even if Nick isn’t the most talkative, and adding his brother Oakley into the mix makes perfect sense for them especially because he loves her even though she dating his brother (sounds complicated I know but trust me it’s not!!)
It’s such a fun read and I love how naturally they seem to all mesh!!

It’s a great steamy holiday romance if you are looking for something quick this holiday season!!

This was my first time reading Jade Church, and I really enjoyed it. All He Wants is a fun, spicy, easy-to-read Christmas novella that was perfect for a quick festive read.

I loved the forbidden, why choose dynamic and the amazing chemistry between the characters. The holiday family setting gave it such a cozy, Christmassy vibe. Overall, it was a super enjoyable, short and steamy novella that delivered exactly what I was looking for.

This was such a cute little holiday read! What else could one want when two brothers decide that they want to share you during family Christmas. Ember was dating Nick, but she also had eyes for his brother Oakley. But these two brothers have a secret, one that leads to a very happy Christmas for this trio indeed. It was short and sweet and spicy all around. Definitely recommend if you want a quick read for this holiday season.

Jade gave us lots of smut but the plot and tension was also strong and I couldn’t out the book down. MFM, forced proximity, AND brothers?

Ngl it really underwhelmed me tbh. I thought I could get over them being brothers. But the idea that they are both having spicy time with her AT THE SAME TIME?? Like this has to be incest and I can’t look past that.

Also I’m supposed to believe they were able to go out in the snow and get her off up against a tree? I have a vivid imagination and yet…I still can’t picture that.

This was a super quick, easy read that’s set around Christmas time. Honestly I was really underwhelmed with this novella. Obviously you can’t have a ton of background info and context in a novella, but every decision just kinda seemed to come out of nowhere. I’m usually all for dual/multiple POVs but I didn’t love it this time. Storyline just didn’t click for me on this one.

This was a short somewhat spicy novella about a girl who goes with her boyfriend’s family on their Christmas trip. I love a why choose, but the MMC’s are blood related and she’s been dating only one of them for almost a year before this starts? And the family is far too casual when they find out lol. Also it was weird to me that only one of the brothers got POVs. Thank you for the ARC.

All He Wants had an intriguing setup and plenty of seasonal spice, but overall it just didn’t work for me. The love-triangle-turned-why-choose dynamic felt rushed for such a short novella, and I never fully connected with Ember, Nick, or Oakley enough to root for the trio. The emotional tension didn’t feel fully developed, so the high-heat scenes ended up overshadowing the story rather than supporting it. Readers who love forbidden, extra-steamy holiday romances may still enjoy it, but I found myself wanting more depth and less chaos.

i’m grateful to receive this arc!

i wasn’t expecting it to be so short, and because of that i couldn’t fully connect with the characters or the plot the way i wanted to. the concept was super exciting, but it needed more time to build any real emotion for me.

but if you’re looking for something spicy, taboo, christmas-themed, and VERY quick to read, this might be perfect for you. the writing was solid and the holiday vibes were on point, it just wasn’t for me.

All He Wants was the perfect little story to start off December and get me in the Christmas mood. The novella switches between Ember and Oakley’s POV. Ember is dating Nick and brought to the Hart family’s estate for the holidays to meet her boyfriend’s parents for the first time. Oakley is Nick’s younger brother and finding it harder and harder to deny his growing attraction for his brother’s girlfriend. Nick is an observant man though, recognizing his brother’s repressed feelings and Ember’s untapped desire for…more. He loves his girlfriend and wants to give her the world, confident and secure enough to admit he might not be enough for her alone…

Though this novella is short, it is packed with plenty of winter vibes and enough heat that’ll warm you up like a steaming mug of hot cocoa. We have tension, yearning, flirting, a winter hike (with an off the path spicy scene in the snow), a formal ball with fancy dresses (and multiple dance partners), a family game night, a steamy hallway make-out session, and more! MFM, HFN/HEA

If you were team Damon AND team Stefan, if you thought why couldn’t Belly just be with BOTH brothers?! This story is for you 😜 this was my first why choose and I definitely see the appeal. It scratched an itch for sure and was a great start to dip my toes into that genre and test the waters (although full disclosure I’m 100% #teamstefan and want both Fisher brothers to be happy #NOTteambelly 🤷‍♀️)

The only minor critique I had was I thought it was strange how basically everyone in the story had blue eyes (apart from one side character that had green eyes). Even the cat had blue eyes!! Just felt a little odd to me. I also wish we got some of Nick’s POV too, it would have been great to have a scene or two from him! Those are just my opinions though, still a cute read.

All he wants is a great holiday novella with lots of heat that certainly wasn’t coming just from the mugs of hot chocolate.
It was such a spicy, fun, and festive read. Including great characters and situations. From Ember meeting the parents for the first time and finding out just exactly how rich they were. To both the brothers showing their feelings. This was the first MFM romance I’ve read and I did really enjoy the dynamics of the three characters together.
The spicy scenes were fitted into the main story fantastically. As sometimes with these type of books I don’t always feel they have great flow as a reader. Jade had worked this one well and it won’t be the last I read from her. Just the right amount of spice and everything nice!!

All He Wants is a fun, spicy, MFM Christmas novella

This story is super short and spicy, a fun, forbidden romance set at Christmas time. FMC Ember is at her boyfriend Nick's parents house for Christmas. All his siblings, including his brother Oakley, are there to enjoy the festive week they always have. Nick tells Ember about how he and Oakley have...shared in the past. Oakley, wants nothing more than to be with Ember, but she is completely off limits since she is dating Nick. Or so he thought....

This story is really fun, and the tension between the characters does not last long, and you get to dive into this forbidden romance with them. It is set at Christmas time, so it is also cozy and festive, while Ember, Nick, and Oakley heat things up. I loved Oakley's character, as he tries to resist Ember, even as she gives off vibes that make it even harder! Nick seems to keep throwing Oakley and Ember together, and that is really not helping Oakley's situation. Nick takes it a step further when they go for a nice walk in the snow, it may be cold outside, but Nick and Oakley light a fire for Ember. The fun doesn't stop from there, and the ending is a nice wrap up to this spicy holiday novella.

"All He Wants" by Jade Church isn't bad, necessarily; there's just not enough there, in my opinion, which made me a bit disappointed. I know it is supposed to be a novella, but the story is so simple that I feel like there's not enough time to get to know these characters, their rationale, their reasoning for things, etc. It reads more like a forbidden tumbl/wattpad story turned into a novella. It's just bing-bang(literally)-boom and then it's done. The most successful novellas get the reader invested in the characters and the story from the get-go, and I got none of that. I crave a deep connection for and between the characters! In fact, I did not really care for or get invested in Ember, Oakley, and Nick at all. Ember is with Nick, and they seem to have a solid but newer relationship, then all of a sudden out of nowhere and unprompted, she decides she also wants to be with Oakley?? I get that it's a why choose, but WHY did she CHOOSE both of them!? LOL. They are just there, they do their thing (again, literally), and then it's over. There's a bit of a Christmas feel to this, by circumstance, lots of talk of gifting, etc, but it just didn't really do it for me as a whole. The spice is good and well-written, but without the connection and fundamental caring for the characters, it's just spice for spice's sake. Honestly, I finished this book yesterday, and I totally forgot I had read it already. Sorry to the author, maybe if it gets turned into a full-length book, I will feel differently!

*All He Wants* is everything I love about a high-heat holiday novella wrapped up in one deliciously forbidden package. Ember, Nick, and Oakley absolutely stole my heart from the opening chapter. The chemistry? Off the charts. The emotional tension? Perfect. The family holiday backdrop? Cozy, dreamy, and the perfect setting for a Why Choose romance to unfold.

Ember is such a relatable heroine — smart, sweet, and stronger than she realizes. Nick is the golden boy with a plan, and Oakley is the off-limits temptation you try (and fail) not to root for. Their dynamic is messy in all the right ways, achingly tender, and so beautifully written. I especially loved watching the slow but undeniable shift in their connection… and when things finally ignite, it is *worth every page*.

Jade Church delivered a gorgeous blend of steam, heart, and holiday magic. I laughed, I swooned, I definitely blushed, and by the end I was completely obsessed with this trio. The HEA tied it all together perfectly — warm, satisfying, and exactly what a festive romance should be.

Reading All He Wants felt like being pulled into someone else’s secret world. I wasn’t just watching the romance unfold, it felt like I was living inside the tension, the longing, the quiet vulnerability between the characters. Every page made me ache a little, like I was holding my breath waiting for them to finally give in. What makes this novella shine is that chemistry thats between Nick, Ember, and Oakley. Nick might be Ember’s official partner, but that doesn’t stop the undercurrent of attraction pulsing between her and Oakley, his brother. It’s a slow, electric hum that turns into a full-blown spark the second Nick begins nudging them closer, clearly knowing far more about Ember’s fantasies then she knows herself which is sooo hot when a man knows what his woman wants.
Oakley is the quiet one His long-held crush on Ember simmers in every stolen glance, every moment he tries to hold himself back and fails with breathtaking inevitability. Meanwhile, Ember’s guilt flickers in and out, swallowed whole by the intensity of being wanted… fiercely and comepletely unapologetically by two of the hottest men who understand her in different ways.
All the smut that Jade Church went all in on gives you some of the best ideas. The scenes are indulgent, unapologetically scorching, and laced with genuine emotion.

I just finished and I’m left feeling a bit frustrated, not because it was bad, but because it simply wasn’t enough for me. With only 23,000 words, the story reads more like a festive AO3 one-shot than a fully developed novella. The writing itself is smooth and easy to follow, nothing to complain about there, and it delivers exactly what it promises: a short, steamy Christmas story. But as a reader who needs time to connect with characters, understand them, and settle into their dynamic, this felt far too quick. The pacing was comparable to watching a short YouTube clip, over before it even had time to land. And for a threesome-centered story, I found it surprisingly tame. Not bad, just very mild, especially for someone like me who enjoys deeper emotional build-up and genuinely spicy tension.

I won’t say I disliked it, that wouldn’t be fair. The truth is simply that I didn’t have enough time to enjoy it. I finished it in under an hour, maybe less, and it left me with a feeling of "almost." If I were a lover of quick, steamy holiday shorts, I might have appreciated it more but even then, the spice level wasn’t quite there for me.

It’s a cute little Christmas read, and it almost delivers what it sets out to do.
But that’s exactly it: this book is a "more or less."

after a year with nick, she’s spending the holidays at the hart estate, but something between them feels off. and nick’s idea of fixing it seems to involve his brother, oakley.

i honestly didn’t know what i was getting into when i went into this book as i just thought it would be a little christmas romance but i was pleasantly surprised when i discovered it was a ‘why choose’ set at christmas!!

this book had me giggling and blushing. what a lovely short, steamy christmas romance to keep you warm on the cold december evenings 🤭🤭😏❤️

All He Wants is exactly the kind of quick, steamy holiday read I love diving into this time of year. It’s fun, fast, a little chaotic in the best way, and the tension between the characters is so addictive.
This is a why-choose MFM romance between Ember and two brothers; Nick, who’s quieter and more closed off, and Oakley, the chaotic, charming wildcard who absolutely steals every scene he’s in. The dynamic between the three of them feels surprisingly natural, and watching how their emotions (and obsessions 👀) develop kept me turning the pages way too quickly.
I loved the cozy-but-dark winter vibes running through the story, and the pacing made this such an easy book to binge. The smut? Jade Church delivered. It’s intense, it’s messy, and it suits the characters perfectly.
The only thing keeping this from a full 5 stars for me was wanting just a bit more depth in certain emotional moments, but overall, this was such a fun, steamy escape.
If you love festive spice, forbidden dynamics, and brothers who really shouldn’t be sharing…but absolutely do? This one’s for you.

Cute and spicy Christmas novella that follows Ember and her boyfriend Nick plus his younger brother Oakley.

Long story short, Nick and Ember have been dating for a year and Oakley has been in love with Ember since the moment he met her but has stayed away due to not wanting to ruin his brothers relationship. Ember wanting to know if Nick has any secrets that no one knows and he does. During college, Nick and Oakley used to share a girlfriend, it lasted only six months cause she just wasn’t the right girl for them. Fast forward, things happen one night in the hallway across from Oakleys door and everything changes.

Nick gets Oakley to admit he’s been in love with Ember since they were introduced and not being sure how things will go after the confession, Oakley asks Nick if he wants him to leave but instead Nick says “touch her.” After that moment in the woods, it’s off to the races the rest of the book and the three end up together.

Nick and Oakley are brothers, they have previously shared a girlfriend before, but that ended badly.

Now Embed and Nick are dating, and he decides to bring her home for Christmas to meet the family. Oakley lives near them, so she knows him but not the rest of the family.

Nick decides that Christmas with his family is the perfect time to expand his relationship with Ember, as he feels she needs more that he is currently giving her.

For most of the story Nick uses Ember and Oakley to tease them about the possibility of having the other. Finally the three have a talk about how that would work. Logistically Ember would date both boys, and they would work as a team to make sure her needs are fulfilled.

Normally I don't love why choose stories but I did like Jade's style of writing. The fact that this story was a novella make it a quick, fun read.

Going into it, I anticipated a light and cozy Christmas romance—something reminiscent of a Hallmark holiday movie. Instead, the story delivered far more depth and emotional complexity than expected.The MMC is an absolute sweetheart: thoughtful, caring, and easy to root for. The FMC’s journey is equally compelling as she wrestles with unexpected emotions and the weight of a love she believes she shouldn’t feel especially when it involves someone close to her boyfriend.
The story beautifully blends warmth, romance, and an unexpected plot twist that elevates the narrative beyond a simple holiday read. It’s heartfelt, engaging, and full of emotional tension that keeps you turning the pages.
