Here for the vampires, stayed for the spice

What worked for me:
The story really picked up about halfway through, and I ended up enjoying it much more than I expected early on. I liked the characters and the overall concept, and the author’s sense of humor really shone through. I also appreciated how casually the characters swore - it made the dialogue feel natural and fun. The descriptive writing was lovely in places, and the spice was so good and refreshingly unique. The twist at the end completely surprised me and definitely left me curious for the next book.

What didn’t work as well:
The beginning felt a little slow, and I wished for more world building to help the setting come alive. Some of the dialogue veered a bit cheesy for my taste, and the romance moved too quickly into obsession - I would’ve loved to see more emotional buildup and tension before they fell for each other.

Overall, this was an enjoyable fantasy-erotica with great potential, and I’d be interested to see how the story develops in the second book.

🩸 Vampire romance
🌙 Dark-ish fantasy setting
💋 SPICE
💀 Danger and betrayal
💫 Plot twist ending

I usually only leave ratings, I never write reviews because despite how much I love reading, I can never seem to articulate my thoughts. But wow. I cannot believe this is Amy’s debut novel and I am so honoured that I have been blessed to be an ARC reader.

The world-building was a perfect balance of being immersive but not too much that you feel overwhelmed and confused. I’ve never read a vampire book (lol maybe twilight when I was younger, thinking about it) and phew, I’m so glad I started with this one. Killian and Aimee have amazing chemistry, the yearning from Killian initially has me wanting to fall to the floor. The characters have actual depth to them, they’re written beautifully. I love Blaise so much, Killian’s second but who has a main character energy from the get go. I really hope we get to learn more about him!

I had an inkling about the twist that was coming but god if I didn’t finish the book with my heart feeling like it had been stomped on, eagerly waiting the second instalment.

Oh, and SHADOW DADDY. Ifykyk. Lord above. I won’t spoil it but those two scenes had me looking at my partner disappointed that he didn’t have a shadow version of himself 😤

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to experience my first ARC and THANK YOU for writing this book. Please sign me up for the second ASAP.

WAS SOMEONE ASKING FOR MALE YEARNING? 🥵 Because this book DELIVERS!!!!
I genuinely could not put my Kindle down for 1 sec..!

Aimee’s inner monologue is pure comedy 🤣🤣. She’s been kidnapped by the supposedly ruthless Vampire King, yet all she can think is “what a fine piece of specimen.” 🤣
Her attitude is irresistible, and the banter between her, Blaise, and Killian? Absolute perfection. Their dynamic is electric, playful, chaotic, and scorching hot 🔥.

Killian is not only a vampire king but also a full-on shadow daddy, and there’s a certain scene involving his shadow copy that made me melt into the floor 🫠. AND he’s also possessive in the best possible way👌.
While Blaise is the ultimate side character. He’s flirtatious, inappropriate AF, and utterly lovable.

The romance is deliciously tense, filled with fluttery stomachs, curled toes, and dramatic gasps. Killian’s yearning alone was PERFECTION!!!! 🔥🖤

The story kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish, and that ending? I guessed one thing...but the rest?? WHAT THE ACTUAL F*CK?! How am I supposed to survive until book two after that cliffhanger?! 😫😭

I’m so honored that this was my very first ever ARC read. I didn’t know what to expect, but I love books and I love to read so I just right in!

First of all, Vampires and Fae? My little heart is screaming! Spice? This book has it! Banter? This book has it. Praise? This book has it! Killian is a Shadow Daddy, IYKYK 🥵. Aimee is so easy to relate to in many ways. Blaise is full of entertainment and seems to always be able to say what everyone else is thinking.

The thought and details that went into this book are evident.

For our TL;DR girlies:

This isn't just a debut; it's a vibrant, immersive world of deception, faes, and vampires, anchored by two well-rounded MCs with palpable chemistry. If you crave a mature romantasy that masterfully balances high tension, deep soul-searching, and fantastic spice, this is your next read.

Full review & behind the scenes peek:

I want to preface this by saying that I’m a beta reader and a close friend to the author. I share this not only to be transparent but to give whoever is reading this review a glimpse of the process that went into creating the world you are about to enter.

This isn't just a debut; it's a vibrant, immersive world of deception, faes, and vampires, anchored by two well-rounded protagonists with palpable chemistry. If you crave a mature romantasy that masterfully balances high tension, deep soul-searching, and fantastic spice, this is your next read.

I cannot begin to describe how grateful I am to have witnessed the dedication, grit, and creativity that went into creating this book and world. It started as a story that kept her company while she put her little menace to sleep, one that accompanied her waking dreams, and at first, turned into more of a joke on our group chat: What if I tried to write a romantasy? We encouraged her, rooted for her, and bombarded her with questions that moved the plot inside her head, day in and day out. She became borderline obsessed with putting words onto the page, and I have rarely seen her so happy and consumed by something. Before we knew it, she had finished it, and our little old group chat became a beta reading coven.

I was never into vampires (sue me, Team Edward means nothing to me), but I was eager to enter a world I simultaneously knew too much and too little of. And boy, was I rewarded! I’ve known Amy for most of my life, but I never knew how immersive and expressive her writing is.
I couldn’t put the book down. After the first two or three chapters, I completely forgot it was written by my best friend—so much so that it wasn't even cringey to read the 🌶️ scenes.

I was immersed, sucked in, suddenly rooting for a so-called villain and being all giddy about Blaise, a secondary character that has Main Character energy.
Our MCs are well-rounded, mature, multi-faceted, and worthy of empathy and understanding. Aimee and Killian go through a lot, separately and together. They grow and prove that with the right person by your side, you can overcome whatever life throws your way. They have palpable chemistry and mature problems that they mostly address by communicating.

Having read more than 70+ romantasy books this year, I can safely say this book masterfully balances plot and spice, banter with serious topics, and mental health representation with the occasional “good girl” vibes—all things I crave in my favorite books.

This doesn’t feel like a debut novel; it feels like the work of a well-established author who has graced us with a vivid world that has tension, yearning, soul searching, and deep questions about life and our place in it.
Irrespective of how you like or dislike this story she so bravely put out into the world, know that this is, first and foremost, a testament to courage, putting yourself out there, and dealing with your nagging imposter syndrome—and last, but not least, a group of girls that root for each other and would go till the ends of the earth for one another.

So when you decide to enter this world of deception, faes and vampires, an ambiguous prophecy, and a swoon-worthy romance, I urge you to remember something that guided Amy, her characters, and ultimately, all of us, together: no woman is an island, and we should do well to remember that we can lean on each other, after we unearth the strength that is already within us.

Last, but not least, a special message to the designer of the cover: your work is brilliant, different in the best way and truly special, like you are!

PS: this is also my first book review, because I’m a very private & introverted person, so be gentle!

PPS: To the author: pinkie & the brain forever, thank you for allowing me to be part of this journey.

This was such a nice debut! It mixes self-discovery, healing from trauma, and a touch of sensual vampire fantasy 🖤 and honestly, it doesn’t feel like a debut at all. I’ve left with so many question with that cliffhanger!
I was a little nervous it might be instalove at first, but it turned out to be so much deeper than I expected.
One of the most important things to me in a story is the MMC i can say I approve this Crimson Shadow Vampire King 🔥 Broody, powerful, and always pushing her to be her best self 👀🖤
I’m so ready for more of their story in the next book!
Tropes:

Kidnapping that goes wrong
Healing trauma
Huge cliffhanger
Found family

Debut novel? This book is so intense and so well written and thought through that it doesn’t feel like a debut novel. It is the book of an experienced writer with incredibly well rounded characters with very different, unique and deep personalities.

They feel real, they have issues you can relate to, yet they are part of the fictitious world of vampires and faes, in a world so perfectly imagined and described by the author. I really enjoyed the amount of details that she put into describing specific rooms, feelings, scenes and so on.

The entire book had me on the edge of my seat, but especially the ending and I absolutely loved the Epilogue.

Mind you this is a book with mature content sprinkled exactly at the right time and in the perfect amount to keep a balance for our sanity ☺️. And the spicy scenes are absolutely incredible! So well written, not vulgar, not awkward, but intense, passionate, fiery, making your blood boil.

I love the dual pov present in a few chapters which added another element of surprise and uniqueness to the book.
I don’t want to give away anything major because it is 100% worth reading it front to back and it is so intense that you will not be able to put it down. However, SPOILER ALERT:

There is this chapter in which Aimee, the main character, is reliving a traumatic experience from her adolescence. It was so brilliant of the author to take us through this experience with her, letting us in on her secret, instead of Aimee relating it to another character. Especially since later on we understand why the author took us back in time and we become complicit with Aimee, as she reveals only part of the story to Killian.

Dear Amy,
It was a pleasure and honour to be one of your ARC readers and enjoy this delightful masterpiece which is your debut novel. I am impatiently waiting for your next book(s) and definitely looking forward to the movie 😏

How is this a debut novel!? 5⭐️ 3.5 🌶️
I love romantasy as a genre, especially vampire books, so I could not lose this opportunity to ARC read a vampire romance that promised to be both dark and funny.
It was better than what I expected!
The characters, the storyline, the setting, the twists… This book is so easy to get addicted to!
Aimee is such a complex character, and her POV chapters are a perfect combination of funny and heart-wrenching.
Killian is 🥵🥵🥵! A vampire, a king, and a shadow daddy? OMG!
He has all the key ingredients of a male lead - he yearns, he broods, he obsesses and he’s possessive 🫠 but he’s also gentle and soft for her.
And Blaise… can I start a petition to get Blaise's POV chapters in the next book? I wanna hear his thoughts because the way he is funny and inappropriate…it’s like if Deadpool were a vampire! ❤️‍🔥🫶
The story grips you and doesn’t let you go and the cliffhanger at the end sealed the deal for me. Easily this is one of the best romantasies I read this year. Can’t wait to see where the story goes next.

I am grateful to have been asked to read this ARC. Thank you for including me.

Where do I begin? I completed this ARC a little while ago, and I told Amy I needed to digest it before submitting my review.

Ok, reading digested, AND I LOVED it!! ❤️❤️ I give it all the stars. This had vampires, Faes, and all that needed to be told were vampires. I ran to go download and devour as fast as I could.

This was such a great read and kept having me turn the page wanting to know what happens next. This book has banter and spice. I loved the characters and really liked the storyline.

There are secrets and twists throughout the entire story. Aimee, Killian, and Blaise are characters I just want to keep reading about. Oh yeah, I can't forget about Shadow Daddy. IYKYK!

This was such a thumbs-up romantasy read for me. I am looking forward to reading what happens next.

If you want a romantasy that has a great plot, twists, banter, and spice, then add A Fortale of Silver Fables to your TBR NOW!!

Vampires, fae, prophecy, trauma, and a slow-burn that could set a castle on fire.

ARC read, A Foretale of Silver Fables is a dark romantasy that wraps enemies-to-lovers, found family, and ancient prophecy into one beautifully written, occasionally brutal package. The story follows Aimee, a magic-less fae twin born under the lights of prophecy. Her sister, Aurora, is the powerful one, the “saviour” destined to either kill or redeem the world. But Aimee’s life has been nothing short of hellish, marked by abuse, manipulation, and the shadow of her sister’s cruelty.

When Aimee escapes and reinvents herself as Celestia, an erotic dancer taking back her agency and control, she’s finally free until she’s kidnapped and mistaken for Aurora by the Vampire King. He believes marrying “Aurora” will end a deadly plague ravaging his people. Instead, he finds himself tangled up with the wrong sister…and maybe the right heart.

The writing is lush and emotional. The start drags slightly, and a few world-building details made me pause, but once the tension between Aimee and the Vampire King kicks in? I was done for. Their chemistry is molten. It’s that perfect mix of slow-burn, power-play, and genuine vulnerability. (Also when he said “Call me Shadow Daddy” I actually had to close the book for a second, utter melting moment!)

Trigger warnings apply: this book doesn’t shy away from heavy trauma, sexual, emotional, and psychological. But Aimee’s arc from survival to self-power is handled with heart.

The final twist left me staring at the page, absolutely needing to know what happens next. I’ll be counting down the days until book two lands in my hands.

And that quote…

“I have loved you since the dawn of time and I will continue loving you even as the world crumbles into utter decay, burning up and turning into celestial ashes.”

That line lives rent-free in my head.

If you like your romantasy with bite, healing, heat, and a heroine who learns to wield her pain as power, A Foretale of Silver Fables delivers. I cannot wait for the book two ♥️

It's incredible to think that this is Amy's first novel. I feel so honoured to be given an ARC for this one, and I can't wait to read book number 2!

By the last few chapters, I was completely hooked and couldn't put it down. And what a cliffhanger to end on!

I rated it 4 stars, as some of the writing styles didn't flow freely, and there were a couple of times where I had to reread sentences to understand what was meant. However, that is the only minor criticism I have.

There was a lot of humour throughout; proper laugh out loud stuff that isn't always included in dark romantasy books, so I really enjoyed that. And the spice was spicy 👌🏼

Please check the trigger warnings, however. Your mental health matters.

Highly recommend giving this one a read and I'm excited to see how the story unfolds in the next book!

I am so thankful to have been given this ARC.

This is Amy's debut novel, and she did a wonderful job. As soon as I heard dark fantasy vampire romance, I was hooked. The banter and tension were everything! I liked the characters (especially Blaise). I wasn’t really in the mood for spice, and maybe that’s why I kind of fell off during the spicy parts, but I’ll definitely be following Amy’s journey and am really looking forward to the next book!

If you’re in the mood for a spicy read with vampires, shadows, and great banter, you should pick this one up.

Excuse me, but a debut novel this good and all encompassing?
It has everything you can wish for in a fantasy epic tale AND MORE.

I feel like I will be repeating myself but I am doing you a favour, so bear with me 🤍.
Thick, toe curling tension leading up to absolutely delicious sexy times, and a swoony romance that will make you gasp 🔥.
A beautiful vampire romance that is absolutely perfect even if you think you are not that into vampires. Trust me, wait until you meet Killian 🫠.
It has a noir fantasy setting that will make you eat all those lush details up.
Spicy spice... if you're into that kind of thing 😂. Prepare to foam at the mouth, really.

The world-building is top notch and will immerse you in a story that is one of a kind, yet still relatable.
I almost forgot to mention that our boy, Killian, is a f*cking SHADOW DADDY. Are you kidding me?

Pre-order it, read it, go nuts over it. Amy outdid herself on this one and I am buzzing with excitement for her next one 🤍.

Can't believe this is a debut romantasy and is a five-star read for me! I'm honoured to read this as my very first ARC.

So this book is a perfect combo of Fae and Vampire. Yes! The blend is awesome, with a nice world building... neither too complicated nor too boring. The plot is progressing well with banter, yearning, spice, mysteries and revelations and more mysteries, in such a way that makes you want to read the next book immediately after finishing this one!
Coming to the characters, firstly our MMC Killian, the brooding Vampire King or the Shadow Daddy or 'only soft for her'...read to find out 😉 As for Aimee, she's the kind of FMC romantasy readers love; misunderstood, neglected but BUT... yes read to find out, Ha Ha Ha! 😈
And then comes Blaise, he's the kind of character...playful, loyal, caring. And we'll crave more of him. The banter is high voltage, and I want more!

If you're looking for a romantasy with a nice balance between plot and spice, good banter, A Foretale Of Silver Fables is for you!

A Foretale of Silver Fables (The Chronicles of Imiryion - Book 1)
A Dark Fantasy Vampire Romance
by Amy R. Emberhart
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (dark, messy, emotionally sharp, and not here to coddle you)

POV: You think you’re getting a standard “chosen one” fantasy romance and instead get dropped into a prophecy built on lies, a girl who was never meant to matter, and vampires who absolutely did not kidnap the right twin.

And that’s where the fun begins.

This book is gothic, cruel in places, tender in others, and driven by the slow realization that everything the FMC thought she knew about herself, her sister, and the prophecy was… wrong. Not loudly wrong. Quietly, devastatingly wrong.

Aimee (FMC) - trauma galore, but make it feral:
Aimee is introduced as the “magicless” twin. The overlooked one. The expendable one. The oops wrong sister of the prophecy.

Except - obviously - that’s bullshit.

She’s anxious, guarded, deeply traumatized, and constantly bracing for the floor to fall out from under her. Panic attacks, hypervigilance, emotional shutdown - it’s all there and it’s handled with care. This isn’t a girl who becomes powerful overnight. This is a girl who survives long enough to start asking the right questions.

Watching her piece together the truth about the prophecy (and her place in it) is where this book shines.

Killian, Vampire King:
Cold. Controlled. Watching everything.
He doesn’t info-dump. He lets revelations hurt.

The dynamic between Aimee and Killian is layered - distrust, curiosity, restraint, and that delicious slow-burn tension where you know something is shifting long before anyone says it out loud.

The “who did this to you?” and “touch her and die” energy is there - but it simmers instead of explodes. Protective without being ridiculous. Dangerous without being cartoonish.

Plot & world:
• Mistaken kidnapping (yes, it matters)
• A prophecy the fae absolutely butchered
• Power structures built on convenience and lies
• Vampires who are not saviors but are… honest in their brutality

The story constantly asks: Who benefits from this version of the truth? And once that question is asked, nothing feels safe again.

⚠️ Content Warnings (read this part):
This is a dark fantasy romance and it earns that label.
• Trauma-heavy FMC
• Anxiety & panic attacks
• Animal cruelty (on-page and upsetting
If that’s a hard no for you, protect your peace.

✨ Genre:
• Dark Fantasy
• Vampire Romance
• Gothic Fantasy

✨ Tropes & Vibes:
• “Wrong twin” prophecy
• Hidden power / misjudged FMC
• Vampire king MMC
• Who did this to you
• Touch her and die
• Lies baked into destiny
• Trauma survivor FMC

Should you read it?
YES if you like dark fantasy with emotional weight.
YES if you’re tired of perfect chosen ones.
YES if you enjoy watching prophecies unravel under scrutiny.
NO if you want light, cozy, or low-stakes romance.

Final Verdict:
5⭐️ Dark, unsettling, and emotionally grounded. Not a comfort read - a lean in and pay attention read.

This book said “what if the prophecy was wrong, the girl was underestimated, and the monsters weren’t the real villains?” and then stared me dead in the eyes while proving its point.

I was hooked. I was uncomfortable. I absolutely kept reading. 🩸🖤📖

4.25 ⭐️ | 2 🌶

A Foretale of Silver Fables is a dark romantasy brimming with fae, vampires, humans, magic, prophecy, yearning — and just the right pinch of spice.

Aimee, our magic-less fae FMC, is mistaken for her twin Aurora and kidnapped, only to be delivered straight into the hands of the Vampire King, Killian. Though she’s a captive, her gilded confinement forces her to reconsider everything she’s been taught about vampires since childhood.

As the search for Aurora intensifies, Aimee and Killian find themselves wrestling with a deepening connection neither of them should want — especially with Aurora destined to be the Foretold One of the prophecy, and the one meant to unite with Killian to save their kingdoms.

Amy Emberhart’s writing is fresh, punchy, witty, and wonderfully engaging. Blaise, in particular, steals every scene he’s in; his comedic timing is absolute fire, and I’m hoping for far more of him in book two. (A Blaise–Sariah development? Yes please — she’d be the perfect spicy challenge for him.)

Killian is the ideal blend of ancient shadow-wielder and “touch her and die” golden-retriever-meets-shadow-daddy energy. Aimee’s journey is equally compelling, and the whole cast feels well-rounded, relatable, and easy to invest in.

The book delivers a major plot twist toward the end and closes on a cliffhanger that definitely left me eager for more. As a debut, it shines with vivid world-building, strong backstory, and characters who feel alive on the page.

I’m genuinely excited to see what Emberhart brings us in book two.

⚠️ Trigger Warning: Please check your triggers. Chapter 24 contains graphic descriptions of gang r*pe. In my opinion, you can skip the chapter and still follow and enjoy the story without losing context.

•Three words: Vampire Shadow Daddy•

4.5 stars

Ok let me say this first: I thank the gods (and the author, of course) for bestowing upon us the vampire shadow daddy known as Killian. After reading this book, my thoughts are consumed by the glorious sinfulness of this strong, yearning creature who yields his shadows in a very unique way, and he may have ruined me for all future book boyfriends.

Now I can get onto the full review. This books begins with kind of a sassy cinderella meets beauty and the beast vibe- and when the beast is a sexy, broody vampire? I am ALL in. Moving on, the book develops into a something entirely its own, beyond comparison to these fairy tales. The author blends magical elements and settings with modern dialogue and emotions to create a story that is intriguing and approachable. I felt an immediate connection to the characters, and the rich descriptions of the scenes we encounter pulled me right there. The fate of Imiryion is in the balance, and a prophecy is the works that will determine how the scales tip. Aimee is a believable unlikely heroine, and I found myself silently encouraging her throughout the book. The banter between Aimee, Blaise and Killian is superb, and I just can’t get enough of these three. I know I opened with my love (lust?) for Killian, but he is a beautifully complex MMC, and I want book two fast so I can see where they go from here.

Thank you to the author for sharing an ARC of A Foretale of Silver Fables with me. What an incredible book!

Amy R. Emberhart’s A Foretale of Silver Fables is a debut dark romantasy that thrives on tension, deception, and desire. At its core is Aimee, the powerless twin of the Foretold One, who has lived her life in the shadows, defined by trauma rather than magic. When she is kidnapped in a case of mistaken identity, she finds herself face-to-face with Killian, the ruthless Vampire King—the villain she was raised to fear. Yet, as the prophecy unravels and truths emerge, Aimee discovers that Killian may be the only one willing to tell her what’s real. Their dynamic is charged with enemies-to-lovers energy, forced proximity, and morally gray allure, while Blaise, Killian’s rakish second-in-command, provides levity and warmth as a foil to the darkness.

Emberhart leans into beloved tropes—villain romance, captor x captive tension, grumpy x sunshine, and found family—while weaving a world of duplicitous fae, ruthless vampires, and forgotten fates. The novel’s atmosphere is gothic and dangerous, with every revelation forcing Aimee to question loyalty, destiny, and her own heart. The romance is immediate and intense, layered with emotional stakes that make the attraction between Aimee and Killian both haunting and irresistible.

For readers who crave a story where truth hides among fables and the villain may be the only honest voice, A Foretale of Silver Fables offers a bold, trope-rich debut that seduces, unsettles, and lingers long after the final page.

This doesn’t read like a debut novel. It reads like a well established author.

The portrayal of SA and PTSD was so well handled and sensitive. You felt the FMC’s pain and empathised with her so much.
I love Aimee’s vulnerability but still her perseverance and inner strength. She never let anything that happened to her define her or be her whole identity. A true representation of a survivor.

Killian, where do I even start with him? I’d crawl on my hands and knees through broken glass for a man like him. The sexual tension, chemistry and yearning lept off the pages. I am obsessed with him. He is EVERYTHING.

Blaise, the flirty dirty second in command. I mean if you can’t have killian he isn’t a bad second choice. But that feels like I’m doing him dirty. He’s not a side dish by any means. I’m hoping book 2 he gets more “air time”.

Right, the plot itself… wow. I never saw any of it coming. The pacing and structure is “chefs kiss”. I loved the writing style, the dual POV isn’t always my favourite but this was executed perfectly. The plot twist at the end. The cliffhanger is INCREDIBLE. I am foaming at the mouth for book 2.

Wow.. First of all, can we talk about that cover? Absolutely stunning!

I honestly can’t believe this is a debut novel. It felt so polished and well written from start to finish. Amy’s writing style is witty, effortless, and completely addictive. The inner monologue had me laughing out loud more times than I can count 😂

Aimee is such a likeable, relatable FMC, and I was rooting for her right from the start. I always have a soft spot for underdog heroines, and she was everything I could’ve hoped for. And Killian? The perfect book boyfriend. Strong, protective, and just the right amount of affectionate. Plus, being a shadow daddy definitely doesn’t hurt 🤤

Blaise absolutely stole the show as my new favourite side character, he’s pure chaos and comedy gold. And let’s not forget the spice🥵 It had me kicking my feet and squealing more than once!

Thank you so much to Amy for sending me this ARC, I already need book two ASAP. This was an incredible, impressive debut. Huge congratulations on such a fantastic start to your author journey! 💕

I’m obsessed. Absolutely obsessed.

A Foretale of Silver Fables was my first ARC read, and honestly? Amy set the bar way too high. From the very first page, I was hooked. Not just by the story, but by the way she tells it. The lyrical quality of her writing and her way with words are truly mesmerising.

For me, it all worked: the world, the characters, the emotions. I laughed, gasped, giggled, got mad, got sad. It was a rollercoaster. It’s everything I want from a book, and it even pulled me out of a month-long book slump. It’s the first story this year that completely immersed me, made me feel every heartbeat, every spark of tension, every tingle of shadow (!).

I’m devastated to be done already and desperate for book two! This has easily been my favourite read of the year. Amy, you have a superpower. The kind that makes readers lose sleep and fall in love with reading all over again.

Vampire King/Shadow daddy IM HERE FOR IT!🥵

This book had me hooked from the start. I couldn’t put it down and finished in one sitting!
I haven’t read many vampire books but Amy has me wanting more.
I loved the banter between the characters along with friendship growth. Blaise is definitely one of my favourite side characters.
The world building and writing style was perfect and easy to understand.
And the SPICE well… Shadow daddy entered and I was gone for🫠😮‍💨
The all twists at the end I was NOT expecting and has me wanting book 2 now!
This was the perfect first book to start this series and looking forward to reading more of Amy’s work.

I don’t give easily 5 stars since I have my favourite books as five. But for this book I had to. It is the debut book of the author and I couldn’t believe it. The story is amazing, character development absolutely incredible and with a plot twist that didn’t see it coming. I read the whole thing in just 24 hours. I couldn’t put my kindle down and I didn’t even realised I finished it. That’s how much into the story I was. Perfection.
I am honoured to be ARC reader and I am really looking forward for the next book

Where. Do. I. Begin?! 😩

We have a prophecy -
The faes have been taught one thing
The vampires have actually lived through it

We have the fae twins - Aurora, the foretold one, and Aimee, the magicless sister

And then we have the vampires - Killian, full-time vampire king, part-time shadow daddy, and his second in command - Blaise, who’s a shameless flirt 🤭

The vampire king sends for the foretold one to be kidnapped to fulfill the prophecy and of course, they kidnapped the wrong twin 🤣

I couldn’t find words for my review 😂 I loved every minute of this story. Just the right amount of spice for me along with the plot. Also, Blaise is my absolute favourite character. I can’t get enough tbh😂
I need book 2 NOW. The ending? I kinda called it but also, WTF?!

Did I mention this is a debut novel? 🥳

Would I recommend this to my friends? YES

5/5 ⭐️
3/5 🌶️

I received this as an ARC read from Amy Emberhart and it did NOT disappoint!

This book has 3 of my favorite things: a smart mouth FMC, a possessive MMC and a flirty/funny side character! Not to mention the plot and the tension between the main characters had me hooked.

While I had my suspicions about some of the plot twists, it was still an amazing read and there were details I didn’t expect that made the story even better. Plus the ending had me in my feels 😭

I cannot wait for book two so I can see where the story goes from here!!

Where do I start omg….

(Note: writing this review was so hard because I have so many thoughts and I literally loved it so much that it seems that whatever I write isn’t enough to bring it justice 🥹)

The world building in this book was perfect, you are able to know the world, past, and characters without feeling overwhelmed about all the information.

This book has like EVERYTHING that I adore in a fantasy. It has Fae, Vampires, yearning, praise, banter… the list goes on!! I was hooked from start to finish! It just amazes me that this perfection of a book right here was a DEBUT novel, like omg you are so so so so so talented Amy!!

I adored the characters in this book. Aimee I love her (obviously) she is so relatable and easy to empathise with. Her story, her life, her personality. I love everything about her.
Killian and the way he loves Aimee with his whole being, the way he praises her, and yearns for her, is definitely something to love about him and his character. The love and devotion he has for his people and for his woman is perfection 👏🏻

Now let’s talk about Blaise, the funny, amazing, side character who steals the show every time he is talking. His sharp wit and the way he manages to always say what we are all thinking just makes him such a loveable character. The brother sister bond between him and Aimee makes my heart melt. He would literally do anything to save her 🥹 it makes me so happy!

This was such a good debut novel! I love me a MMC with Damon Salvatore vibes and Killian gave me that. Also a shadow daddy as well, especially one that knows how to use them 😏 IYKYK.

The story was overall good, a little slow at the beginning but that’s okay because it did get better as I kept reading. The spice was SPICY. 🌶️ 🥵 The chemistry between Aimee and Killian was fantastic.

I can’t wait for book 2!

This is a book I was lucky to get an ARC for after I saw amazing reviews online! It focuses on Aimee, the magicless twin of the Foretold One, and Killian, the Vampire King she has been taught to hate and fear.

Aimee is a sarcastic, brave, and pretty badass character. She has trauma and fears but fights fearlessly despite them. She may start off biased and confused, but her character becomes more understanding and open throughout the chapters. Killian is a dark and brooding shadow daddy who doesn't believe in love or relationships. Together, you're set for a tension and spice filled enemies to lovers adventure.

And when I say spice, I mean SPICE 🥵 If you like the shadow daddy trope, this book is going to be your ride or die. It takes the trope to a whole new level!

The storyline itself is fantastic. Filled with twists, tension, and enjoyable banter which had me entertained throughout the whole book. Read this in one sitting, I just couldn't put it down!

Overall, this read gets a 4.5⭐️ and a well deserved 4🔥. Highly recommend this read to anyone who enjoys a high tension, enemies to lovers, vampire and fae story.

Rounded up as I’d give this a solid 4.25 stars, especially seeing this is the author’s first book here. Well done! Strong world building, good yearning, fun banter, nice amount of spice given this is book 1, and a fast, fun read. Yes some of it was predictable but it was still a good story. I look forward to book 2!
