Poetry in Motion is a brave and deeply personal debut. The idea of living in that quiet limbo of ‘what-ifs’ is something so many people will relate to, and Colin writes about love not as something easy or guaranteed, but as something that takes real courage to choose. That honesty is what makes it linger.

The structure takes a moment to settle into, the character list connects each poem to a specific perspective, and once that clicks, the whole reading experience opens up beautifully. The mix of prose and poetry makes it feel intimate and personal in a way that stays with you.

A genuinely brave debut. Highly recommend.

A raw, unputdownable, riveting, heartwarming yet heart wrenching read.

The author with his debut novel has managed to deliver a book which manages to seamlessly and masterfully combine poetry with the plot which made me laugh, feel sad and hopeful for the two leads and ultimately left me with a twinge of 'saudade' (Portuguese for a melancholic longing for something that has ended); a strong case of book hangover.

This one will remain a special read..the kind which I know I will come back to, to flip through as I journey different seasons of life. Cannot wait to pass it on to loved one(s) to experience the magic of this simple yet captivating read.

A take on how love can blossom and grow, and how it can also shake your insecurities enough to take off those rose colored glasses in a relationship. I see the trials from both ends of the couple in this novel and how it may quiver so much at its core. This helps us realize that you either want to fight for the love you give another, or find the courage to fight for the love you give yourself.

Poetry in Motion was an easy read of a love that was found. It felt cute with the dialogue and riveting with the poems in between. The overall story felt light at its surface but with a deeper undertone of reality. I quite enjoyed it and would recommend it readers who enjoy poetry and a story of falling in love.

Poetry in Motion is Colin’s heartfelt ode to the beauty of language, and it shows on every page. Blending poetry and prose within a diary-like structure, the narration reaches an extraordinary level of literary craftsmanship. There were several moments while reading when I had to pause, simply to absorb and appreciate the elegance of his wordplay, the sheer majesty of his language. It’s a work that lingers with you.
