Elorie has never known anything beyond the magic-void prison island of Alyssium. She tends to the dead who are sent to the shore for burning, while living among the humans who help guard the Fae prison.
Until one day, she rests her hands on a dead Fae prisoner's chest and accidentally wakes the most lethal warrior in the constellation of realms.
Fascinated by Elorie's unique ability to resurrect such power, the King summons her to the Ley Court. He declares her to be his chosen, promising a union that will restore magic to a dying land.
But the Fae she woke has other plans.
As the rightful heir to a rival crown, Wilder doesn't want to heal the kingdom that locked him in a cell for a century, he wants to destroy it. And to do so, he'll claim Elorie for himself.
Except magic can't be stolen, only offered. And in a war between crowns, Elorie is the only one who can choose how to bind her untamed power.
If only the same rules applied to her heart.

sadly, i cannot for the life of me feel connected or interested in this story. it isn't that the book is necessarily bad. the writing is pretty decent but it already started to be a bit too predictable for me and unfortunately i could feel myself drifting off and getting bored. i also didn't feel a pull to any of the characters, something just felt a bit disjointed as the story progressed. it was missing that spark to make it something that sucked me in and kept me wanting to see how everything would play out. i would rather call it a day and accept that sadly this isn't for me - than push through and end up making myself read something that i am not enjoying.
ultimately i think feeling this way 32% in is sadly a sign to put this down - which is a bummer because I really thought i would love this, it had all the right vibes and tropes i would go for!! at first i thought it was a case of settling into the story but unfortunately it ended up being a lack of interest and connection.
quick disclaimer - usually i do rate my dnfs & although goodreads is a reader space to honestly share our thoughts and reviews - i will leave a star rating off for now, given this book is yet to be released. however, still sharing my honest opinions, as always.
i will say that the premise behind this is good and it is easy to digest, so if this sounds a bit of you then i think you should definitely give it a whirl!! there are a lot of highly rated reviews so i am sure it will have its audience :)
thank you to nerd fam for an e-arc in exchange for an honest review! ---------------------
celestial gothic romantasy with forbidden magic - seems promising!!
Was I going to pass up the opportunity for an advance listening copy where one of the narrators is Anthony Palmini? Absolutely not. This was an absolute powerhouse! The duet narration with Blair Thatcher was so compelling, I felt like I was THERE the whole time. There were a few scenes that literally brought me to tears, the emotion was so incredibly raw and real. (Elorie's scene with her dad… iykyk.) Imagine my surprise (and fury) to realize that I was not in fact a human trapped in a fae world and somehow on the hook to save my world and theirs and I was just boring me in the real world. THE RAGE I tell you. I listened to this one almost solely in audiobook format because I could not leave the story if I wanted to, Palmini and Thatcher were so good together that I couldn’t not hear them narrate this. I needed full immersion and I got it! (Also, I love the way they differentiated the internal thoughts from audible dialogue. I thought that was such a cool detail to make it sound different.) Eva Simmons, you are a knockout. I can’t rave enough about this book!
This was so fun and I can tell you almost none of what happened. Because all of it would be spoilers. So I’m sorry, but not really. Because you need to read this book for yourself! If you loved Serpent and the Wings of Night, Quicksilver, Phantasma, or On Wings of Blood, then this one is for you. It’s fast-paced and hard-hitting, the narrative weaves effortlessly together. And I was warned, this ends on a cliffhanger. And boy does it. The scream I scrumpt at the last sentence… well, the neighbors think I’m absolutely insane. (They aren’t wrong, but they definitely know now for sure.)
The Hanging Heart comes out April 24. Run, don’t walk and get yourself a copy and the audiobook of this one. It’s well worth it! Just don’t be mad when you get to the end. I warned you!
Huge thank you to Hambright PR and author Eva Simmons for the gifted e-ARC and ALC of this amazing book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
INFINITY stars !!!!!!! Wow this one is gonna be up there with the greats - mark my word!! Audio version and the narrators were simply amazing as well as the story !! I need book 2 like air right now!
A unique, refreshing fantasy romance with an immersive world and a creative magic system!
Elorie and her father struggle against the brutal cold in the only place mortals still live, Alyssium. There, a prison exists that is meant to trap fae and slowly drain them of their lives. Elorie feels a pull to the prison and unknowingly releases a dangerous fae king from another realm with magic she never knew she had. Now, two rival fae kings fight for Elorie convinced she’s the key to saving each realm and destroying the other.
From the beginning I was in love with the story. The world and magic system is so fascinating. I’ve never read another book with the concept of the fae’s beating heart and what it means. The brutality and extremes that the humans live through make Elorie’s strength and determination all the more real. You feel for all she’s endured and yet she maintains her kindness and compassion.
The world building and plot are balanced really well. Elorie is constantly trying to determine who to trust so the whole time I was suspicious of everyone! A few twists were ones I expected and others I didn’t see coming. There’s a few plot holes but I think most won’t mind them.
The romance is a slight slow burn with spice in the last part of the book. The MMC is so swoon worthy! The devotion to Elorie is top tier and you’ll immediately fall for him.
Thank you to The Nerd Fam and the author for the gifted book!
So this is definitely a book to keep an eye out for! The Hanging Heart by Eva Simmons is an extremely immersive romantasy! I loved the world building which was super easy to follow. The magic and the stars was kind of hard to follow along? Maybe it was just me but I just had a hard time picturing that.
Wilder and Elorie also had the BEST banter and some really yummy spice! Talk about using magic and basically mind reading to make those sparks really fly! I also loved their banter.
Elorie is tasked with finding and learning her magic to save the realm and choose the right realm to save. Everything about this book, including the massive cliffhanger has me already marking my calendar for the next book!
You will love this book if you love:
✨ Celestial Gothic Romantasy 🔮 Forbidden Resurrection Magic 🩸 Blood Sharing 🪢 Banter Through Magical Bonds ⚔️ A Battle Between Kings 🧚🏻 Villainous Fae
ALSO CHECK OUT THE AUDIOBOOK BECAUSE THE NARRATORS KILLED IT AND MADE IT VERY IMMERSIVE!
Thank you to Hambright PR and Eva Simmons for the honor of diving into this book and audiobook in exchange for my honest review!
I already want to reread this book, and I just finished it.
This was such an unexpected 5-star read. This gave me the feels like when I read Metal Slinger, and I was not expecting to love this so much.
The story immediately jumps in and has a ton of the typical romantasy tropes and character arcs, but that are so unique and fun. The main characters in this book were written so well and I just want more and more. I had such a fun time listening to this and I stalked the author and want to read many more from her!
TYSM to Hambright PR for the ALC of this. The narrators were amazing and my only regret is not having a physical copy at the same time to annotate them and save all the quotes. I will be buying a shelf trophy IMMEDIATELY and probably annotating it ASAP.
I’ve been bored since 30%. This was me giving this book a big chance. Nothing of interest is happening and I’m tired of waiting. It’s unfortunate because this started off so good! I will say that the morally grey MMC (whose name escapes me right now) voiced by Anthony Palmini is *chef’s kiss*! I think that after 10+ years of listening to audiobooks that I’ve finally found a favorite male narrator in Anthony Palmini and that’s coming from someone who usually HATES male narrators ♥️
i absolutely loved this one! i went into it already intrigued by the synopsis, & then seeing that anthony palmini was narrating made me even more excited. the second i started the immersive read (ebook & audio) i just knew i was done for. i did not want to stop listening (or reading). i literally devoured this book! ate up every last freakin crumb. mm, mm, mm!🥣
the world building was easy to follow, which made it easy to get into. & the vibes? it was exactly what my mood was craving & i didn’t even realize it. (satisfied? yes i am 🥰)
i loved the banter & tension between elorie & wilder. between their dynamic & the mind whispering (think fourth wing in a way), i was obsessed! i also liked how they added an echo effect for the mind whispering making it easier to distinguish.
both narrators did such an amazing job! they really brought the story to life & made the whole experience even better!
overall, if you couldn’t tell by now, i loved this book! it just hit for me. the tension, the characters, just the overall feel of the story. i can’t freakin wait for book 2! just to be reunited with the characters & this world, & just to see what the heck ends up happening!
i definitely recommend doing the immersive read or even just listening to the audiobook. i had the best time & highly recommend giving this one a read (or listen) when it’s out on april 24.
𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐢𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞: ✨ celestial gothic romantasy 🔮 forbidden resurrection magic 🩸 blood sharing 🪢 banter through magical bonds ⚔️ a battle between kings 🧚🏻 villainous fae
I absolutely loved this book! Every aspect of the world building was fabulous. The pacing was perfect for me - a great balance of action, yearning, Fae court/politics, and self discovery. I was warned that it ended on a cliffhanger (it does!) but that won't stop me from begging for the next book!
Elorie, our FMC, is exactly what I want, and what most romantasies are lacking. I love that she has a softer side than most FMC. She is strong and powerful without being an insufferably rude know it all. She genuinely is curious about the new, unknown world around her. Elorie's past, as well as her new forbidden powers, are shrouded in mystery, leaving her questioning where she truly belongs. Her journey goes beyond learning to fight in battle and control her powers, but also to trust in herself.
The relationship between Elorie and Wilder is a true slow burn, enemies to lovers, and Wilder is a great morally gray MMC. From the first time she meets Wilder I knew I was going to love him. Wilder's secrets added the right amount of tension and uncertainty in their relationship. The progression of their relationship built slowly and felt authentic. I want to see more of these two together!
Usually when I see so many 5 star early reviews I approach cautiously. The Hanging Heart definitely deserves the hype it is generating!
Thank you to the author and Hambright PR for the advanced reader copy.
This feels like classic romantasy. It gives you what you came for, and the twists mostly land where you expect them to. You’re here for the pull of the world and two characters being drawn together, and it delivers on that.
There is an edge to this world that helps balance the sweetness. I found myself wanting more of it. A little more bite, a little more tension. But that may just not be what this series is trying to be.
The fae feel familiar, with some variation. I enjoyed the magic system, the imbalance within the fae, and the dynamic between fae and humans. The world feels close to ours but just different enough, and I would have loved to spend more time exploring it.
It moves fast. The story, the connection, all of it. The bond between the main characters is immediate, and while it works for the tone, I did want a bit more build-up to really feel it.
At the end of the day, it’s fun, sweet, spicy, and gives just enough 'tasy for the romantasy reader.
A special thank you to NerdFam for the advanced digital copy; All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Hey so I finished this in 3 1/2 days….????? Which is not normal for me so plz take that information as you will. This was her first romantasy and you could not tell whatsoever. The world building is very approachable, poetic, and keeps you wanting to keep reading to learn more.
I loved our FMC, Elorie. She’s the epitome of she’s so much stronger than she realizes and then when she does? Unstoppable. I seriously couldn’t put this book down and the narrators for the audiobook?!?! 10/10 recommend.
That ending??? The BONUS CHAPTER???? I can’t wait to come back to this trilogy and I’m obsessed with this world and Wilder and Elorie.
I really enjoyed the writing style, it felt natural and easy to sink into. The FMC is relatable, brave, and refreshingly grounded, with reactions that actually felt realistic for once. That being said, I had a hard time connecting with the rest of the characters and didn’t care much about their fate. The MMC wasn’t anything special either. I found myself zoning out more than once, so I had to call it quits.
Overall, it wasn’t a bad read by any means—it just felt like it was missing that extra spark to fully pull me in and keep me invested.
The Hanging Heart leans hard into that “who can you actually trust?” feeling, and I was constantly second guessing everyone. Just when I thought I had things figured out… nope.
Growing up not truly knowing who you are , or what you are. Your own father didn’t tell you the truth , and now you are left to figure that out while the King expects you to “help” him with your new found power…
I had the pleasure of listing to the ALC and they did such a great job ! I can’t wait for book 2!
Overall, this was a 4 star read for me, my main issue was that it did start fairly slow. I almost did dnf but I’m so glad I didn’t. Towards the middle and end is where it got really interesting. I figured out about 70% through that there was zero way this was a standalone. That is my own fault for not paying attention and I will be counting down the days till December.
I guessed where the plot was going with Wilder and when I tell you that situation is one of my all time favorite tropes in fantasy. “Gods, you’re perfect. I could have imagined your face a thousand more years and never come close.” LIKE ??? EVERYTHING.
Lol, I don’t know how to review this book without completely spoiling, so go read !! 10/10 recommend.
P.S I have major beef with this ending, it was just cruel 🥲
Special thank you, to hambright pr/ the authors agency and the author Eva Simmons
for the chance to be a part of this experience for an advanced listener copy.
Also, I can’t wait for the next book! ———————————————————
The Hanging Heart is every fantasy reader’s lover’s dream! Like, I’m seriously obsessed with these characters—you guys have no idea how fast and strongly they’ve found a way into my heart.
If you love the typical fantasy stories, such as ACOTAR, TOG, Fourth Wing, Shield of Sparrows, and more, along with vibes from Supernatural CW shows, you’ll enjoy this from start to finish!
I’ll be honest, there’s so much going on within the storyline, it’s impossible to give this review a lot of details BUT! I can tell you this: it delivers in all aspects of world-building, romance, vibes, fantasy, found family, magic, forbidden topics, magical bonds, and blood sharing. Honestly, the list goes on and on lol.
It’s freaking amazing. The plot twists are phenomenal. The character development for both main characters is strong and keeps you rooting for each of them. This book will take you on a wild ride with a lot of drops, twists, and turns, and take the emotional damage to the next level—especially with that ending 😳😅
But! It’s worth it! I enjoyed this more than I expected, and I can’t wait to see what else happens in the series. The author did a great job with the world she built, going into such great detail of what’s going on and why. The narration is done phenomenally. The narrators, Blair Thatcher and Anthony Palmini, knew exactly what to do for the characters. The way they brought them to life and worked as a team to keep the vibe going is everything! I was laughing, I cried, I giggled, and of course, I shouted lol.
I’ll be honest, I saw the narrator list and instantly knew they were going to nail this, and I had to listen to it. So glad I listened to my gut and added it to my TBR and signed up!
Overall, I enjoyed this audiobook/book. I can’t wait to see what else happens, and I’m officially obsessed. Everyone involved in this did an amazing job in the creation process.
Idk what else to say without spoilers other than just add it and read or listen to it! You’ll enjoy it regardless of whatever form you choose.
“I may be human. I may be breakable and temporary, but I refuse to be weak.”
“If you didn’t want me around, then maybe you should have let me stay dead.” “If I’d known what a gods forsaken pain in the ass you’d be, I would have.”
💙Absolutely freakin’ loved this book! From the very start I was hooked in, the magic of this story wrapping around me and never letting go. This book is gonna soar high!
“Gods, the trouble you stir, Starfire.”
✨There’s a lot of magic being used in this romantasy but the story itself is something magical because I did not want to put it down and when I wasn’t reading it, I was thinking about it. This story consumed me in the best way and it’s absolutely a top read of the year and now an all time favorite. I am obsessed with Elorie and Wilder.
“One king bends me with force. The other with carefully crafted lies.”
💙She’s human. She shouldn’t have magic…. When Elorie accidentally resurrects Wilder, a lethal Fae warrior, it sets off a chain of events that threatens everything she’s ever known. Now stuck between two rival kings competing for her resurrection magic, she must choose the union that will restore magic to a dying land and save her people even if her heart has other plans.
“You don’t have to choose me, Elorie Vale. But I will always choose you.”
✨This felt so refreshingly different. The storyline, the unique magic, the world. I couldn’t get enough of any of it. And not only do you get a slow burn romance filled with tension and telepathic banter, you also get lovable side characters. This story never felt rushed or slow, it literally felt like the most natural pacing of things. I wish I had enough words in my brain to accurately describe how amazing this book was. Simply immaculate vibes and storytelling! If you’re a fan of romantasy then I highly recommend you give this one a shot!
💙I am foaming at the mouth for book 2!
“If we can’t have forever in this realm, then maybe we can have it in the stars.”
✨Celestial Gothic Romantasy 🧚♂️Villainous Fae 🤍Forbidden resurrection magic 🩸Blood sharing ♾️Threads of Fate ⚔️A Battle Between Kings 🪢Banter Through Magical Bonds 🌗Realms Colliding ❤️🔥Slow Burn
The Hanging Heart is the 1st book in the Realm of Beating Hearts series and ends with a cliffhanger, so be prepared. I have only read Eva Simmons MC contemporary romances so I was surprised to see she also writes fantasy romance. I enjoyed her writing and thought she did a good job making the world building easy to understand.
Elorie is a human woman that goes on a crazy journey once her magic is awakened when she brings a fae prisoner back to life. She is now the key to healing the dying fae world and torn between two kings. There was an event where the worlds of Lyrichia and Vaelier crashed together and created the well. It is sucking up their magic of both the world's and now Elorie's magic can save one world, while destroying the other.
Now Elorie is forced to choose between King Malachi and their enemy Wilder, the fae king she resurrected. She is drawn to Wilder and they are able to communicate in their heads. She is conflicted the more she starts to fall for him. I loved their banter and connection.
This did start a little slow and it took me a while to get invested, but it definitely picked up in the last 40%. I enjoyed the side characters and all the twists near the end of the book. I will definitely be continuing with the series.
AUDIOBOOK REVIEW 🎤Duet narration by Anthony Palmini & Blair Thatcher
The duet narration by Anthony Palmini and Blair Thatcher really made this book so much more engaging. It helped me stay interested even though the first half was kind of slow.
Thank you to Must Love Audio for providing the ALC.
4.25⭐️ This was such a solid first book in a romantasy series that I can already tell is about to wreck me in the best way. We’re dropped into a world where magic is fading, kingdoms are on the brink, and our FMC is sitting on a power that could either save everything… or destroy it. And of course, she accidentally revives the enemy king—because why not choose chaos? 😌 Let me be real for a second— the pacing around the 20% mark dipped a little. It slowed down just enough that I felt it. BUT… once it picked back up?? I was locked in. The tension between the characters?? Chef’s kiss. The morally gray energy?? Exactly how I like it. And the magic system with the celestial elements felt fresh and different without being confusing. And can we talk about the audio for a second??? Because WOW. The narration was fantastic—like fully immersive, brought every emotion to life, made the experience better than just reading it. This is very much a setup book, but it doesn’t feel empty. You can feel the groundwork being laid for something bigger, darker, and way more intense in the next installment. If you love: 🖤 enemies-to-lovers tension ⚔️ fae politics and power struggles ✨ forbidden magic 🔥 morally gray men you probably shouldn’t trust …this is absolutely your vibe. Final thoughts: Not perfect pacing-wise, but the payoff, tension, and audio experience more than made up for it. I’m already ready for book two.
The Hanging Heart by Eva Simmons, narrated in duet by Blair Thatcher and Anthony Palmini
What a great and gripping story. Elorie and the world she lives in pulled me in from the very first chapter and did not let go.
By the end, I was in what I call that phase of, “I want to stop reading because I know I’m going to get hurt… but I can’t stop because I need to know what happens next.” And then… Eva hit me with that brutal cliffhanger 😭 Chapeau, Eva!
I immersive read this, and let me tell you…
🎧 The duet narration by Blair Thatcher and Anthony Palmini was absolutely spectacular. There are several POVs in this story, and not once did I feel lost. These narrators truly enhanced both the story and the characters. Special mention to Blair Thatcher, she’s a new-to-me narrator and I was seriously impressed. And Anthony Palmini… that voice?? The man can make you fall for the villain, no questions asked.
I absolutely loved this. The Hanging Heart was such a vibe, and I literally inhaled it in less than 24 hours. When a book is this good and the pacing is this fast, sleep becomes optional.
The book size was perfect for me—it got straight to the point without losing any of the magic or mystery.
But what I loved most was the romance. I am a total sucker for the fated mates trope, and the way Wilder was always there for Elorie, standing by her through everything, was just perfection. Their connection felt so deep and genuine.
And we need to talk about specific moments because Chapter 29 had me sweating, but then Chapter 41 had me literally giggling like a schoolgirl. Eva Simmons knows exactly how to balance that intense heat with the kind of sweetness that makes you kick your feet.
The mystery kept me guessing and the magic was super cool, but the way Wilder and Elorie’s bond developed was the highlight for me. I only docked that tiny 0.25 because I’m greedy and wanted even more of them.
A fantastic, addictive read!
I need book 2 NOW !!!
Fast, magical, and Wilder is officially top-tier. 🫀
This is unique! The magic system is so different and unique.
Firstly the story is about Elorie, a human girl who is just trying to survive in a world of fae. She has to fight to stay alive and that is one hard fight. Twitst and turns lead her to the king. Or better said two kings, both with their own powers and plans. Elorie starts to fall in love, but is the person a good person, or is he going to stab her in the back?
You will need to read the book to find that out.
The writing style in the beginning is slower, there is a ton of world building. But the it picks up the pace and it gets almost impossible to put the book to the side. I can't wait to read book 2, coming out December 11th.
You will love this book because: - fated mates - unique power system - amazing friendships - an enemy we all want to ☠️
You guys do NOT want to sleep on this book/audio… WOW. Just… WOW. I’m honestly shocked by how much I loved it. Not because I doubted the author, but because I haven’t really fallen in love with an ALC until now.
This might actually be my favorite romantasy read of the year so far 👀 The writing is so smooth, the characters are all compelling, and the tension + banter? So good. I was completely hooked. And the magic system… Wow! so unique compared to what I’ve been reading lately. This is my first Eva Simmons book, but it definitely won’t be my last. I need the next one ASAP, Ms. Simmons 😂
Narration: Duet narration and absolutely flawless. I mean… Anthony Palmini and Blaire Thatcher? Of course it was incredible. They both did an amazing job!
Tropes: ✨ Celestial Gothic Romantasy 🔮 Forbidden Resurrection Magic 🩸 Blood Sharing 🪢 Banter Through Magical Bonds ⚔️ A Battle Between Kings 🧚🏻 Villainous Fae
Thank you to Hambright PR and Eva Simmons for this advanced listening copy for an honest opinion. These opinions are my own 🥰
The Hanging Heart Review ♥️ Realm of Beating Hearts book 1
5⭐️ From the first page to the last page I was hooked, I finished this book in less than 24 hours. I absolutely loved this book so much!
Elorie as the FMC is beautiful and stunning. I love her character and the way she is, so sweet and kind but fierce when needed. Seeing her develop through the book was amazing especially when she learns more about who she really is.
Chapter 4 has my heart “You are stronger than all the stars, my daughter. Don’t ever forget that.”
Wilder you handsome morally grey man. I loved his character so much, he is so sharp and funny but determined and dangerous.
This book will have you second guessing everything and who you can trust. Plot twist was plotting. Especially the cliffhanger! I can’t wait to read book two.
Narrators Blair Thatcher and Anthony Palmini brought the story to life.
Thank you to the Author @evasimmonsbooks and @hambright_pr for my eARC and ALC!
4 stars. I really liked this one. The writing was what sold me most. It had that rich, dark, gothic feel I always fall for, and I was pulled in pretty quickly. The prison island setting, fae politics, and resurrection magic were all very much my thing.
I did find the story pretty predictable, and at times it felt almost comfortable in the way it unfolded, but weirdly I didn’t mind? It was still enjoyable. Not every book has to shock me to work. Sometimes I just want a story with good writing, strong atmosphere, and a romance I can sink into.
Wilder was a highlight for me, and I’m interested enough to keep going with the series. I just would have loved a few twists to catch me more off guard. Still, this was a solid read for me.
Ok so… I loved this book! It gave me everything I love in a romantasy. Chosen one, secret powers, enemies to lovers, fated mates, a cool magic system, and awesome supporting characters! Betrayal, hidden identities, unknown parent, gate travel, different realms! It has everything. If you loved ACOTAR, Artifacts of Ouranos, and Lady of Darkness, you will enjoy this read. Definitely has a lot of the same vibes. I received a copy of the book and audiobook from HambrightPR. The audio was beautifully narrated in duet style by Anthony Palmini and Blair Thatcher. They were both phenomenal and the production was incredible. I enjoyed the audiobook immensely.
I absolutely loved The Hanging Heart by Eva Simmons—an easy 5-star read for me!
The world-building in this story is phenomenal. From the very beginning, I felt completely immersed in the setting. Every detail is layered so thoughtfully that it creates a vivid, living world that pulls you in and doesn’t let go.
One of my favorite aspects was the multiple POVs. Each perspective felt distinct and added something meaningful to the story. Instead of slowing things down, the shifting viewpoints actually built tension and deepened my connection to the characters and the overall plot.
The pacing kept me hooked the entire time, and I found myself constantly wanting to read “just one more chapter.” It balances plot, character development, and atmosphere really well.
As for spice—this sits comfortably at a 3-pepper level. It’s present and well-written, adding to the story without overpowering it.
Overall, this was an excellent read that I’d highly recommend if you enjoy rich world-building, layered storytelling, and multiple character perspectives. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for more from this author!
Thank you to The Nerdfam and Eva Simmons for an advanced reader copy in exchange for my honest review. I'm afraid this one didn't hit for me. It felt like an amalgamation of a few different fantasy books and it didn't really do anything new. I did like the characters and the magic system and I definitly think this series has potential!
I absolutely LOVED this one. So unique and such a great twist on a morally gray man who you truly didn’t know if he was actually good or not til the final pages. Wilder is amazing and I’m now obsessed with him. “My Starfire” SWOON. I loved reading about Elorie coming into her own and finding her abilities. I can’t wait to read more. Wow
