#1 The Devil's Hand

In 2020, a new battle fortress, the SDF-3, was tasked with a trip across the galaxy to make peace with Tirol's Robotech Masters. But the Robotech Masters were already on their way to Earth. And at Tirol, the SDF-3 would face the galaxy's fiercest warlord: the Invid Regent!

#2 Dark Powers

Stranded on the far side of the galaxy after battling the Invid hordes, the Robotech Expeditionary Force's chances for survival were slim. But suddenly a starship unlike any other appeared -- manned by an incredible assortment of beings determined to challenge the Invid Regent himself! REF volunteers and their war mecha signed on for a campaign that would mean their destruction -- or liberty for the planets of the Sentinels!

#3 Death Dance

Four months had passed without a word from the Sentinels. Fearing the worst, the Expeditionary Mission to Tirol began truce negotiations with the Invid Regent himself. But far away, the surviving Sentinels were stranded on Praxis, a planet in cataclysm. Deep within that world's core were answers to the Sentinels' prayers -- if they could only reach them before Praxis tore itself apart...

The book I read was only Death Dance without the other two stories. I glad I did not have to read all three stories. I am sure the first two stories of the series were just as bad as the last. I am not going to give you any info about the book other than to say I would suggest not wasting you time reading them unless like me, they are all you have to read.

You certainly can't accuse it of not being imaginative. But I hate how it goes out of its way to set up the dump "shapings" of later novels.

The old gang from the Macross Saga of the Robotech series returns in an exciting new adventure across the universe. The most recent mission brings Risa, Lick, Max, Miriya and a whole new cast of supporting characters to the Zentraedi home world in the hope of a peace treaty with the Robotech Masters - but they arrived too late. The Masters were already on their way to Earth, and all that was left in the space quadrant was a war-hungry race of aliens all-too familiar to the Zentraedi: the Invid.[return][return]This particular omnibus brings together three Sentinels books into one: The Devil's Hand, Dark Powers and Death Dance. Initially, this may seem like a rehash of the previous portions of the Robotech franchise - and in many respects it is. However, a wonderful tale is woven by the duo known as Jack McKinney that introduces a new cast of characters, new races of aliens, and a battle of political maneuvering that would keep Frank Herbert intrigued. For those longing to see what happens with Rick, Lisa, Max and Miriya, this short series provides a wonderful glimpse into their futures and should not be missed by an Robotech fan.

The Sentinels, the second story arc in the RoboTech series, is actually one of the few that wasn't really based on any animes, so it's pretty much left up to the writers to create new content for the series, and they did so extremely well.

Picking up where the SDF-3 leaves Earth and arrives at Tirol, this compilation covers a little more than half of the Sentinels story line, comprising parts 9-11 of the overall RoboTech series (not 13-15 as they are originally numbered).

Godawful. Skip these adaptations, just watch the shows. Hard to believe Brian Daley was parially responsible for this tripe.
