Criminally Captivated #3

Oh No, My Stalker Is Cute!

Rate this book
Archie Pine is the love of my life.

Not that he knows that, of course, because that would be parasocial and creepy and weird.

Which I am not. I’m cute, obsessive, and starstruck - especially when Archie’s uncle shows up to offer me the deal of the lifetime. Let him kidnap me, and I’ll get to meet Archie in the flesh.

Nevermind that I’ve never been able to work up the courage to approach the object of my affections at any of his many public appearances. And nevermind the fact that I have no clue what to do with the man when he's finally right in front of me.

All that matters is that I'm here, and Archie...

Archie's been...

Stalking me back?

Oh No, My Stalker Is Cute! is a closed-door dark romantic comedy with mutual stalking, a marriage of questionable convenience, and a whole lot of hilarity. Reader expectations are located after the title page and are highly recommended for the best reader experience.

Archie and Sarelia have been stalking each other for years. And they might have gone stalking each other for several more, but Archie’s uncle Stone wants to retire. (Read the book for context.) Therefore, he “kidnaps” Sarelia (she goes willingly) and brings her to Archie before he’s ready to receive her. He’ll adjust, though. Anything for Sarelia.

Now, if you haven’t read the two previous books, you’re going to be missing some context here. Read the author’s note if you don’t believe me. I’m not going to explain these characters and their situations here. What I will say is that I had no idea that Archie was so…hot. I mean, just look at that cover.

Also, I love that Archie is shorter than Sarelia. My husband is shorter than I am, and it’s never been a problem for us. Three cheers for tall women marrying shorter men!

Yes, Archie is hot in the physical sense, but his utter devotion and love for Sarelia is what puts him over the top. He knows how to love her, and she knows how to love him. If you think that’s just a throwaway sentiment…well, it’s not. Finding someone who will love you the way that you love them is the absolute best feeling in the world. And I’m not talking about romantic love only.

Take the way Sarelia’s parents treat her. She’s twenty-eight, has written and published over fifty books, and then she retired, because she wants to write things that are for just her, things that fill that creative well. Her parents, however, even after knowing her all her life, thinks she’s lost her mind, and they show their love by trying to “fix” her.

Like that EVER works. Ahem.

Then cometh Archie, and our dear girl finds out what it truly means to be in love, and to love without conditions. So, he might take heinous revenge on some awful people he may have had locked in the basement. If you have a problem with that, and yet you like the TV show Dexter, well…pot, meet kettle. At the end of the day, he would do anything for his wife, and knows she would do anything for him. They have the same love language.

The writing from this author is fantastic, as it always is, and I definitely cried while reading it, as I saw some of my parents’ behaviors in Sarelia’s parents — I just wanted them to trust that I know who I am and what I want. Thankfully, I found my Archie, of whom my parents did not approve. They eventually got over it.

This book is about love. Love that is unconditional, that is unbreakable, that will stand the test of time. And, so will Archie and Sarelia. And their cat Pesky. Was that technically their marriage kitten? Or is she just a pet? I suppose you’ll have to read the book to find out.

Before I begin, I would like to thank Storm Sterling for allowing me to read a copy of her upcoming book, Oh No, My Stalker is Cute! which will be available on Amazon on November 25th, 2025.

Sarelia Prim is absolutely head over heels for Archie Pine and he has no idea. Why would he? That would be weird and creepy right? Sarelia is none of those things. She’s a cutie pie that’s obsessed and more than starstruck with the internet celebrity, so of course she agrees to be kidnapped by Archie’s uncle so she could meet her true love in person. Granted, she’s never approached him in any of his public appearances and she has no clue what to do or say when she finally meets him. Funnily enough, it turns out Archie has been stalking her back.

I absolutely love this book. You have Sarelia Prim, a gorgeous, ambitious, clever, and considerate young woman that writes fabulous books for a living and is obsessed with Archie (relatable). You have Archie Pine, a sassy, charming, intelligent, and handsome young man that punishes bad guys and builds things in a video game for a living and is also obsessed with Sarelia (as he should). The interactions between the main characters were funny, sweet, and honest, and I love seeing familiar faces from the previous books in this series. Sarelia’s outfits sounded like a dream, and I also wish I had a cat or two. I appreciated that the author handled complicated family dynamics with compassion and vulnerability, especially in terms of how people can demonstrate their love differently and how good intentions can still be harmful. Overall, if you like found family, cute dresses, funny banter, and sweet stalker x stalker dark romance with low spice, then I would highly recommend this book. I got a copy. These opinions are my own. Here’s the link for more information.

If you stalk someone, only to find out they were stalking you in return, is it really a crime? If they get their uncle to kidnap you and bring you to the object of your stalking, who then offers to marry you, again has any crime really been committed here? Especially when you don’t really put up much of a struggle.

Sarelia has been a huge fan of online gamer Archie Pine for years, she has followed everything he does, even met him at an event. Suddenly, he’s in front of her, in the flesh and they are getting married. Archie has been obsessed with Sarelia for a very long time. Using not quite as legit means as Sarelia did, he’s also been finding out as much about her as possible, to the stage he’s completely obsessed with her and will do anything to keep her.

I loved Archie and Sarelia together, they were so freakin adorable. If you haven’t read the earlier books in the series, then I strongly recommend you do. Whilst they are all standalones, it does give you some background to Archie’s family and you see more Archie mischief as well which is always a good thing. So I was already in love with Archie before I read his story. Now I just want to be kidnapped by him, as long as I get the pink master bedroom and do not end up down in the dungeon.

Sarelia’s parents were a lot to take, no wonder she has hangups. I adored Fred, her brother. I feel like Fred and Archie would become strong friends. I’d like to hope that her parents learned their lesson from the visit with Archie and started treating both of their children better. They need lessons from Rosie on becoming a super parent.

I’ve really been loving this series, I feel like there could be more potentially. We still need more Sal, and probably more Fred.

Okay, Sarelia and Archie are just adorable. It’s just that simple! I love how much they understand each other and are obsessed with each other on, well, let’s be real-unhealthy levels. 🤣
Archie has needed somebody that loves on the same level as he does, and Sarelia has adored him from afar for years, and has been just as desperate for her level of love and unwavering support to be reciprocated. Them coming together was completely adorable, even with the light kidnapping. But was it really kidnapping?

But on top of their adorable journey to be together and dealing with her not as supportive family, there are some profound nuggets thrown in, too. Archie has some pretty good words to share!

“Forgiveness is not ignoring what’s been done. It’s allowing them the space to do better. You do him an injustice by sweeping it under the rug, forcing him to sit in his guilt. Give him his opportunity to make amends.”

If you love a good found family, she falls first but he falls harder, kidnapping, marriage of convenience with a bit of mutual stalking thrown in the midst, Oh No, My Stalker is Cute by Storm Sterling might be exactly what you are looking for!

I do want to take the moment, as Storm did, to give a word of warning, though. This is a closed door, no spice, no language book. That said, it IS a dark romcom, there are references to and implied torture to bad guys, as well as assassinations. So again, dark, but also romcom. If that doesn’t sound like something you would like, then this really isn’t for you. I found it adorable and sweet, those aspects aside.

I was given a complimentary copy of this book. Thoughts and opinions are my own.

All in all, this was a fun read. The FMC and MMC are seriously quirky, adorable, and utterly likable. I loved revisiting characters from earlier in the series, the scenes with them often made me laugh or smile. I don't know how the author can take such dark themes (murder/assassination, torture) and make it downright enjoyable, but she does!

Some of the sections were slower and harder for me to get through. There is a lot of good conversations in the book regarding the FMC's family of origin and self-improvement. While I can certainly appreciate the lessons and information those conversations provided, the big blocks of dialogue got to be a bit too much for me at times. Also, for a (sort of) marriage of convenience story, not having any fade to black moments, even at the end, was disappointing. I love clean romance and read it almost exclusively, but the lack of this scene/s seemed weird given the multiple instances of making out and discussions about marital activities that were in the book.

Overall, certainly not my favorite Storm Sterling book (those would be Unwillfully Tied... and Red Flags Only!) but a great addition to the series! I would not read this as a standalone, although I guess you can if you really want to! But the previous 2 books (one a novella) in the series are quick entertaining reads and will give you fun glimpses of the MMC in this one.

Can't wait to see what Storm writes next!

I received an ARC for free, and am leaving this review voluntarily. All reviews are my own honest opinion.

Finally Archie gets a romance of his own in the form of a girl who has been cyber stalking him while he stalks her back.

It’s a cute premise (though heavens not in real life- that’s just creepy) that works in the oddest of ways. Sarelia is adorably flawed as a nearly 30-year old self published author who is ready to retire to the dismay of her parents. As such she leaves in a flood of tears and is approached by Archie’s uncle who is a PI that’s been following her for a few years now. Stone wants to retire after having made a bundle off of working for Archie, so he offers to “kidnap” her and drop her off at Archie’s doorstep.

Naturally, Archie and Sarelia decide a marriage of convenience it is and so they do… but Sarelia is still plagued with self doubt and issues of low self esteem due to her helicopter parents, so Archie’s got his work cut out for him- not only getting to further know his new blushing bride and preparing to meet her family, but also figuring out what to do with Ted, the guy he has strapped down for torture in the basement.

All I can say is Ted, whatever you did for Storm to enjoy strapping your carcass down on a literary bed of torture- apologize and make it a good one!

Jokes aside, this is a fun addition to the Criminally Captivated series and I’m thrilled we finally got to see the heart within our favorite prankster.

Completely clean (other than a LOT of steamy kisses), and well worth adding to the bookshelf. ❤️

Oh No, My Stalker is Cute! by Storm Sterling is a mutual and consentful book that just makes you swoon.

This is the third installment of Sterling’s Criminally Captivated series, that can technically be read as a standalone but you would be missing some key information on the technicalities of the main character’s job description, as well as his friends. Despite the title of the book, this book is mushie. The feelings and communication with both of the main characters felt soul healing, despite the questionable start to it, *cough cough* st4lking.

⚔️ Found family
⚔️ Marriage of Convenience
⚔️ Closed Door Dark Humor
⚔️ She falls first, he falls harder
⚔️ "Who made you cry?"

The thing that hit me the most when reading this book was the toxic behavior of the FMC’s parents. Shocking right? Not the st4kler… But, despite that, this book really took a great turn in the extensive conversations that discussed previous trauma, respect, likes, dislikes, and boundaries. *chef’s kiss* It was beautifully done and made my standards raise in how communication should be done. So maybe not something you’ll expect when seeing the title.

I recommend this book to anyone who wants to read how the communication trope should be done.

Thanks to Storm Sterling for the free book.

Rosy hues, sweet words, and swoony kisses.

This book. THIS BOOK. I was blushing and giggling the whole way though, which, by the way, was basically all in one day.

All. The. Therapeutic. Words. My heart & soul loves. 😍

Sarelia is SO princess. Archie is SO SO her knight. The fairytale themes in this book were darling. The romance was on every page, every word, every look. So precious. For being a mutual stalking book, there’s a crazy amount of wholesomeness to this wonderful story.

And alllll the compound’s cameo’s of side characters & previous main characters was such a delicious found family time. So much found/chosen sibling shenanigans. I loved all the little details we learned about certain characters in their stories making appearances. It gives the world & story an added, lived in, depth.

Welcome back to the world of Criminally Captivated, where the men are both criminals...and captivating. A world so absolutely removed from reality, you have no choice but to just accept the crazy *and* the swooning.

Oh No, My Stalker is Cute is about a girl being stalked by a guy...who is being stalked...by that same girl. Which, honestly, just makes the kidnapping really a moot point since she practically leapt into the car once she heard where the car was headed.

I was lucky enough to receive an early copy of the book, and it's *fun*. You definitely need to suspend your belief a bit - what's a love story without some torturing of bad guys?? - but watching Sarelia and Archie be absolutely perfect for each other is just a treat. Because Archie absolutely needs someone he can be real with.

Favorite Quote:
“You married a man who deals in the dark shadows of the world, my princess, And not only deals in them, but thrives in them. It would be the greatest gift for you to take the darkest threads of emotion within you and give them to me. In exchange, I will give you every sweet, precious thing I’m capable of producing. All my love, all my joy, and all my happiness—it’s yours. Take my light, wife, and give me your darkness.”

I love everything Storm writes, Archie and Sarelia are absolutely no different! The way Storm writes a romcom is top notch perfection!

The chemistry, the yearning, the kisses!!
If anyone has figured out how to live in a Storm Sterling book, let me know! I would like a one-way ticket! 🤤😎

Thank you to the author for the advance copy, all thoughts are my own.

Book 3 of criminally captivated
As with the other books is this series this book is seriously unhinged and weirdly also fantastically sweet at the same time. The situation Sarelia finds herself in is unlikely but the fact that she goes along with it is red flags all the way, she lets herself be kidnapped because they promise they are taking her to her crush. That two highly weird people can find each other and celebrate their weirdness is aspirational, that they can be so themselves is more so. A book that says let your freak flag fly so another freak can stalk you and be the love of your life. It's just a book, don't take it too seriously, it's gets dark in places but it's still a very sweet clean romance.

This book is crazy full of crazy people that are so hilarious! Storm tells their story in such a fun way that you will laugh out loud.

I loved the undertone theme of family, communication, love, and caring for others. I loved Archie's insight and guidance through Sarelia's character growth.

Favorite Quotes;
“Communication only works if everyone involved is open to hearing what everyone else has to say and willing to extend grace, compassion, empathy, and compromise as needed."

“Your past has shaped you,” he says. “And I think we can all understand that. But even as it shapes you, you cannot let it define you or control you."

There are no swears or alcohol and level 2 kisses only. Dual POV.

First, read the trigger warning. It’s there for a reason. This is not the usual RomCom. It has torture and stalking, which might not usually be my cup of tea, YET I still enjoyed it. So you may have to be willing to give this book a chance.

Archie has his lovely little methods and tendencies that make him superiorly crazy, lovable and manic. And somehow. Somehow, Aurelia, she’s got her own things that mash together with his stuff to create a genius little lovely couple.

Found family is so shiny in this book, and I love it!

STORM MY BEAUTIFUL QUEEN WITH YOUR BIG, BIG, BEAUTIFUL BRAIN, YOU HAVE DONE IT AGAIN. In lower letters now, wow, just wow. I am in awe. No complaints to be found here (or anywhere, I'll find the complainers in real life and fight them dw) Anyways love you Storm and everything you have ever written and ever will write 🖤

Edit: it has been pointed out to me that I somehow didn't mention Camilla??!? My ONE OTHER BEAUTIFUL QUEEN??? This must be fixed. Camilla is a goddess sent from heaven to bless us with her wisdom. I adored the Camilla references all throughout.

Storm is back at it again with the third book in the Criminally Captivated series and this time, it’s Archie’s story! 🎉
The book follows Archie and Sarelia, how they find each other and the journey they share with their found family.
It was an enjoyable read and worth the wait so don't miss it out.

Loved the family dynamics (the found family) and I’m sorry to see the end of the trilogy come about. (Rosie! I love you!)

It was very hot but not spicy. No on page bedroom scenes.

Torture (and assassination) briefly mentioned a couple times but nothing descriptive like might be expected after reading a little about the book.

So quotable. I highlighted a lot of lines that made me laugh or smile or stop and thinking.

A fun series and a good author. I recommend this trilogy and her other series. She’s honestly so funny.

“Feelings are stupid. I’d like to unsubscribe.”

Oh what a fun addition to the series. Strongly suggest it's read in order, it'll make you love the dinners and such even more knowing the family (found family trope is the best!).

The therapy level advice and wisdom dished out is astonishing. Seriously, cheapest therapy session ever on forgiveness and communication.

I loved the authors take on marriage still having couple-specific fun. It can be walking the dogs, reading together on a couch, or sneaking around the house as a spy. But having that level of intentional fun together is so important!

Plus there are marriage kitties everywhere because even fictional characters read Camilla's books so be cool and read Storm and Camilla books too.

Content:
Style - dual pov, dark romcom (marriage of convenience, forced proximity, found family)
Intimacy - High (intense make outs but always ends there, no fading to black even)
Language - None
Violence - High (torturing bad guys)
Potential Triggers - Stalking, Kidnapping (kinda?), on-page torture, throwing up

Mutual stalking, rollicking fun

This is another laugh-out-loud entry into Storm Sterling’s criminally captivated series. While Sarelia is secretly stalking her celebrity crush, Archie Pine, he is secretly stalking her! Archie’s uncle kidnaps her (ok, she goes willingly, so is it really a kidnapping?) and takes Sarelia to Archie.

The ensuing antics (and stalkings) will keep you in stitches, laughing - unlike the guy in the basement!

Gosh! These two are truly made for each other. I love their sense of humor and how family is a priority to them. Archie is amazing at making Sarelia feel loved and understood. Their sense of found family is unreal and makes me want a compound with my friends plus Rosie because I need to taste Rosie’s cake.
This is a dual pov, clean romance. It is part of a series but can be read as a stand alone novel.

I have been (not so patiently) waiting for this book since this time last year and I'm happy to say it did not disappoint me! Archie is wise in ways that I didn't imagine, and his Sarelia is the perfect fit for him. I loved their example of communication and how to do it well! Check out this book as soon as you can!

really not sure how I feel about this one

I did start at the beginning of the series. Read Stryker’s story and Baz’s. Liked them both. Archie did seem more criminally insane in those books. Love Baz’s Mum Rosie. Love the shop worn rescue cat. Guess I just don’t get the obsessive love interest angle. Looking forward to seeing what others think.

Storm's books have that weirdly unique vibes that are actually pretty sweet and nice to read. I loved Archie and Sarelia's story. It was different because they were already obsessed with each other from the very beginning of the story. But it was nice to read through them falling deeply for each other and growing comfortable together.

Archie and Sarelia are absolute life! Their mutual obsession is adorable, and the genuine love between them is guaranteed to bring a smile to your face. It was so lovely to see characters from previous books return and to catch up on how their relationships have grown. The found-family aspect brought me fuzzy feelings all over again. I couldn’t have asked for a more heartwarming addition to this series!

Truly magnificent!! I felt so seen in Archie and Sarelia's story!! I love coming back to the compound and absolutely loved all the family being there! I adore Storm's dealings of depth of emotions and families, found and otherwise. A truly deep story dealing with complex families issues that I so strong associate with. and some how so light and beautiful as well. Can't wait for more.

Storm Sterling has done it again. I swear, her books just keep getting better.

This was such a comforting, healing book. And it was sweet, and cute, and made me laugh out loud. But also I added it to my "objectionable content" catchall shelf because there is some light torture. These things can both be true at the same time. 😌

5 stars, obviously

Love love love everything Storm Sterling writes. This book is ...
Wacky? Yes
Swoony? Yes
Closed door? Yes
Basically perfection in book form? Also yes!
(Torture isn't gory, communication is incredibly healthy, and I personally appreciate the trigger warning for the prologue)
Highly recommend!

Crazy Dark Fun

I enjoy reading this author when I need a break from the regular romance comedy tropes. Archie and Sarelia are so cute together in their dark world with their found family. There's so much truth when Archie deals with Sarelia's family and the effects they have had on Sarelia. It's a fun, heartfelt romance with a little torture thrown in.
