Every book in this series has been longer than the last, with this one being an absolute beast of a book. All I can say to that is, "Yes! More please!"
I really enjoyed my time listening to this audiobook. It was one of those great, easy-listening books where if it kept going on for days, you wouldn't care; you'd just keep coming back for more. It isn't one of those books that is long for the sake of being long; it is long because it has a lot of story to tell.
Truth be told, I think this is actually 3 books, not one, because there are 3 sub-stories told one after another to make up this larger tale. The first sees our protagonist face off against a magical plague; next, he must overthrow an Orc army in a magical wasteland so that he can find his inheritance; and finally, he must face the nobles of the kingdom for his actions during the fief war.
All three stories were engaging, meaningfully moved the plot forward, and I absolutely loved the payoff for each arc. That said, they also present an issue that costs this review a star. Each story felt a little formulaic.
Each of the three arcs sees our protagonist face a situation that should be beyond him, struggle to reach a climactic, deadly confrontation, and then stretch that confrontation out over multiple chapters, where the character has to go to impossible lengths to succeed. These final battles, in particular, are my biggest issue with this formulaic element. Three multi-chapter climactic battles of this nature became tedious to read by the end of the book. There are only so many times that you can dredge up the same emotions in the reader before there's nothing left to mine any more.
Think of the trope of an action movie having a ticking clock that gets down to 1 second to go before the protagonist finally triumphs. It's already a difficult trope to genuinely build tension for the viewer because it's been used so many times. If that happened 3 times in a single movie, then it would be completely played out and lose all meaning by the third instance, if not the second.
The same was the case here. I think that, just once, it would be okay to see our protagonist simply outclass someone through intellect and better planning, leading to a quick, easy victory rather than a long, drawn-out battle. Just because it's not good for a protagonist to never struggle, doesn't mean that there can't be times when he can win without having to overcome a massive physical struggle. In fact, sometimes it might just be a cathartic experience to have him breeze through a situation that has been set up as an impossible struggle.
Overall, this is a relatively minor issue. The formulaic nature does mean that nothing in this book is surprising, but the rest of the story is easily solid enough to keep the interest up the entire way and leave me wanting more. I am eagerly looking forward to seeing what comes next, and if the next book just happens to be another long book of the same quality, then all the better as far as I'm concerned.

I continue to enjoy this series and am surprised by much of what is unfolding, which is hard to do four volumes in. The author has managed to keep expanding this world to keep us guessing. I remain a little disappointed in how it positions the "bad guys," since I think it is too easy of a short cut to cast them as simply purely evil. (I still don't understand how truly evil people who do not hide who they are could ever build strong followings and organizations.) Still, the main cast are fun to follow.

Another ripping story from the minds of Extra 26 and T.C. Liyanage.
Follow Lore Azran (Kai) as he picks up the pieces from the beast wave and his watchers bring news of the location of his mother’s inheritance. It won’t be easy however as they will have to cross the mana less desert and face off against the Orc Warlord and his clan.
The tensions high and the mana is low but nothing is going to stand in the way of the Fatebreaker!

It is a really good story, I really liked the first two books, but after that it's just reeks AI. "Not one, not two, not hundred, but thousands.", a million times: "pregnant silence", "the counter attack came not from the front but from the back". Reading these i got brain aneurysm.
BUT the story is exceptional so I will keep reading it.
I just don't understand if someone is using AI, I presume, to write faster. Then at least pls revise it so it doesn't look obviously AI.

Very hard to think of a good header....Great read!
Still not sure about progression fantasy books but I loved this book. Very well written and great story. Looking forward to the next book and more from these authors.

Liked the story. The battle between Kai and the magus was my favorite part.
I enjoyed the intrigue and drama between the characters. The two women who hated each other was a good sub-story.

Magus Reborn, book four of A Progression Fantasy Adventure series, is an ebook I borrowed through Kindle Unlimited (KU). Kai has won his war and clued his allies into his circumstances, now it's time to face the Assembly of Justice. There's always a spin on the plot, and this one is good.

Was OK
I got through it, but for me it was a slog. This book was convoluted scheming with some OK fights won by plot armor and dues ex.

great story

Good story, bad English
Way too much "f" word, more than the previous episodes and at least once per page. There are better uses of language than this.

Fairly Epic Tail
The story is good. But, it feels like AI is over used and not reviewed enough for collusions or artifacts.
I definitely am going to read the next one.

I like this series and the author. I like the main character and was happy with this one. It continues to be a great series that I recommend, and I look forward to the next book.
