Jingle Belle

Rate this book
Belle Brooks doesn’t believe in holiday magic or blind dates.

But when her best friends sign her up for the Twelve Dates of Christmas challenge on the Skeptically In Love podcast, she’s pushed into the worst date of her life... and a second chance she never saw coming.

Because the restaurant where it all goes wrong belongs to Miles Bennett. Her first love. The boy she left behind when she chased her career to New York.

What starts as an awkward reunion quickly spirals into something far more complicated. Between flour fights in the kitchen, Christmas Twister, and feelings they never really buried, Belle and Miles are forced to face the past and the possibility of a future.

She swore she was over him. He swore he had moved on. But Christmas has a way of making even the most skeptical hearts believe in second chances.

I’m a Halloween person, so it usually takes me a bit to let that go and look forward to Christmas, but this book did a great job at getting me into the spirit. This is a second chance romance following Belle and Miles, and what happens when they bump into each other after 10 years apart.

This is a fantastic Christmas story and I loved how it was sprinkled throughout the entire book. The flashbacks were also centred around Christmas which I really liked. It had the warm, cozy vibes with a very raw love story at the focus. I couldn’t help but get excited for the holiday season.

This started off with a bang. Belle’s friends set her up on a blind date that couldn’t get any worse. I got flashbacks from my own experiences that I thought were buried and never to be seen again. Luckily for Belle, when she tried to hide from her date, she runs into her first love that she hasn’t seen in 10 years.

Belle and Miles are adorable. While we don’t get to see much of their love grow, their connection and love for each other is very much there. I loved how they dealt with seeing each other again and what it all meant. Miles’ little sister was a big part of what I enjoyed about this book too. She was a little trouble (match) maker and had a great personality!

For just around 200 pages, this book was packed with fun, love, a dash of pain, and a whole lot of holiday spirit.

*thank you Laura Ashley Gallagher for the ARC*

Jingle Belle was the perfect cozy read for the holiday season—complete with all the beloved elements of a festive romance, plus a main male character who can cook (which is always a win!). I’m a big fan of the second-chance romance trope, and this story delivered it with charm. The banter between Miles and Belle felt effortless and fun, and their chemistry had that Hallmark-movie-with-spice vibe I adore.

I will say, I’m never thrilled when men make “noble” decisions on behalf of women, even with good intentions. Thankfully, Belle’s best friend Phoebe wasn’t afraid to call it out—her perspective was a highlight. Miles and Belle truly feel destined to “make it work.” One of my favorite characters was Miles’ sister, Lucy. I’d love for her to get her own story soon.

I did end up deducting one star, only because I wanted more depth in the friendship between Belle, Phoebe, and Ruby. Their bond had so much potential, and I would’ve loved to explore it further.

Overall, a delightful, heart-warming romance with just the right amount of sparkle. Perfect for your holiday TBR!

I received an ARC copy of this book.

An absolute masterpiece!! Laura Ashley Gallagher has done it again with a brilliant story, made even better being a holiday read.

This is one of Laura Ashley’s tamer books in terms of spice and honestly, I didn’t miss the spice. Is it still spicy? Yes! I’d say maybe 1.5/2 out of 5 🌶️.

Those that know me, know that I don’t normally like second chance romances. But this one hits all the right spots without any of the “are you kidding me?” feelings I normally get from second chances. Add in a good slow burn, friends to lovers, and found family all wrapped up with a holiday romance bow and I’m telling you, this is perfection!

Highly recommend!!

Jingle Belle brings you on a journey of childhood connections to teenage love to second chance adult romance.

The journey of Belle Brooks and Miles Bennett is one of heart ache, tears, laughter and lots of fuzzy feelings. Alternating chapters between past and current lives to bring together a delightful holiday romance. You’ll be cheering these two characters on from the beginning just waiting for the day they find themselves back in each other’s arms.

This was my first book by Laura Ashley Gallagher, and it certainly won’t be my last.

My first holiday read of the season and it did not disappoint! 🎄 I’m such a sucker for friends-to-lovers and second-chance romance, and this story delivered both in the sweetest way. But it wasn’t just a cozy holiday love story, Belle and Miles’s childhood struggles were heartbreaking, and I loved how they always showed up for each other. ❤️ There were also plenty of laughs along the way, making it the perfect start to my holiday reading! ✨

ARC Review: Laura Ashley Gallagher’s ‘Jingle Belle’

[I want to preface that I received an advanced copy of ‘Jingle Belle’. My review is based on my personal thoughts of the book].

THE WHAT: Belle grew up in a small town, with an angry, alcoholic father. Now, all grown up, she has the job of her dreams, the New York apartment, great friends - what is missing is love. Belle’s friends are done with her being in a funk during the holiday season, so they enter her into the “12 Days of Blind Dates” through the Skeptically in Love Podcast. Reluctantly, she goes on date and runs into Miles Bennett, her first love and childhood protector.

THE VIBE: Slow burn, reunion, second chance, holiday vibes, childhood friends.

THE HOW: This book is a slow burn with a dual perspective. The author provides both Belle’s and Miles’ current day and past perspectives which really helps immerse the reader into the story.

THE HIT: I thought the author did a beautiful job establishing the emotions and connection between Belle and Miles. She delicately walked the reader through some of Belle’s and Miles’ difficult moments when they were growing up - I really appreciated this approach. I also loved how she included Belle’s relationship with Lucy to further solidify the bond.

THE MISS: There is no real miss in this book, however, if I had to provide one piece of feedback is that I would have love to have a bit more spice. Don’t get me wrong, there is spice, but the reader has to be well into the second half of the book to get it.

THE REC: I am really not someone that enjoys cringy holiday books - but this was far from it. I would recommend this book to people that love a second chance love story.

THE OVERALL: I read the book in one day and absolutely loved it. I would absolutely recommend this book to others.

Spice Level: 2/5

Overall, this book gets 4.5/5 from me.

This is not like any Christmas book I’ve ever read… and I mean that in the best way possible. I opened these pages expecting a cozy, snowy, sassy holiday romance. Instead, I got something refreshingly real: zero picture-perfect blizzards and a whole lot more heart.

Belle’s amazing group of friends decides it’s time she dips a toe back into the dating pool after years of singledom. What begins as a hilarious “12 Dates of Christmas” podcast quickly spirals into chaos when one arrogant jerk accidentally reconnects her with her first (and maybe only?) love.

Belle’s snarky sarcasm paired with Miles’ calm, cool “human peppermint tea” vibe is chef’s kiss. Lucy is a sweet addition to the chaos, though she did feel a little too eager by the end. And seeing Celeste and Julian again? A delightful little gift tucked under the tree.

My only wish: more of the friend group on-page. They brought so much humor and charm.

Different. Charming. Heartfelt. A Christmas romance that doesn’t rely on snowflakes to bring the magic.

I received this as an ARC. Solid 4.5 stars. Quick read, a great way to start reading for the holiday season. I read this earlier than I usually would in order to keep my timeline but this would be a great read snuggled by the fire on a cold day in December! Loved all Her books so far!

My first ARC and what a way to start! I’m a big lover of Christmas, so to receive a festive romance first was just perfect for me!

I went into this with zero expectations other than a light and fun Christmas read, and although it definitely ticked those boxes, it also had so much more depth than that.

I adored the FMC and her group of friends who made me laugh out loud so much in the beginning. The humour between her and the MMC and his sister made me smile all the way through, and as a Brit, I so appreciated the wit and sarcastic banter throughout!

What I loved most was the history and friendship beyond their relationship. I really enjoyed the flashbacks to their childhood and how their strong bond was formed through shared trauma*. Their love was palpable in the words written.

If you’re on the lookout for a holiday read that will make you giggle, swoon and maybe cry a little, I highly recommend this!

Couldn’t Put It Down—Belle and Miles Stole My Heart!

I devoured Jingle Belle in a single day—it was that good! From the very first page, I was completely swept up in Belle and Miles’ story. Their chemistry is electric, the banter is charming, and the emotional depth had me hooked. Laura Ashley Gallagher has a gift for creating characters you can’t help but root for, and this festive romance hit all the right notes.

The holiday setting added such a cozy, magical touch, and the pacing was perfect—never a dull moment. If you're looking for a heartwarming, feel-good read with a love story that lingers long after the last page, Jingle Belle is it.

A huge thank you to Laura Ashley Gallagher for the opportunity to read this as an ARC. It was an absolute joy and privilege to experience Belle and Miles’ journey early—I'm so grateful!

Highly recommend for anyone who loves holiday romances with heart and heat! 💕

Jingle Belle was exactly the kind of book I needed a perfect palate cleanser that eased me right into the holiday spirit. It’s cozy, emotional, and has the spice.

The story blends heartfelt moments with the perfect amount of humor and those twinkling holiday details that make everything feel magical. I loved the warmth of the found family dynamic, the sweet nostalgia of childhood friends reconnecting, and the satisfying emotion of a second chance at love.

It’s the kind of book that makes you want to curl up under a blanket with hot cocoa and TWINKLE lights glowing in the background. 🎄✨

Jingle Belle by Laura Ashley Gallagher is a warm mug of cocoa in book form — sprinkled with sugar, spiked with sass, and wrapped in the kind of small-town charm that makes you believe in second chances and mistletoe magic all over again.

Belle Brooks used to love Christmas — before heartbreak, chaos, and a few too many unmet expectations convinced her that holiday cheer was for other people. But when a family emergency drags her back to her snow-globe hometown of Pine Hollow, she can’t avoid the jingling reminders of what she’s lost — or the man who once made her believe in happily-ever-after.

Enter Noah Hart, the high-school sweetheart turned small-town handyman who’s now heading up the annual Christmas Festival (complete with an ice-sculpture contest and enough twinkle lights to rival the North Pole). Their reunion is as frosty as the December air… until fate, community meddling, and one runaway reindeer force Belle and Noah back into each other’s orbit.

Gallagher balances humor and heart with ease. Belle’s snarky inner monologue — half cynic, half softie — plays beautifully against Noah’s quiet steadiness. Their chemistry builds not from grand gestures but from tiny, tender moments: fixing a broken ornament, baking gingerbread for a charity drive, or confessing fears under falling snow.

This isn’t just a romance — it’s a gentle reminder that home isn’t a place, but a feeling; that forgiveness can sound like sleigh bells; and that love, when it’s real, never truly melts away.

By the time the final snowflake lands, you’ll be smiling through tears and adding Pine Hollow to your list of fictional towns you wish were real.

Verdict: Sparkling, heartfelt, and a must-read for anyone who still gets a little misty when the lights go up in December.

Thanks to the author for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

WOW talk about an emotional read!!🥹🥹😅😅😭😭 I fully was expecting a sweet fluffy little spicy rom com situation! No this was sooooo emotional I cried at how absolutely sweet and amazing the MMC was and I cried at the conflict and their tortured pasts. This book was incredible! Our FMC Belle has had a rough home life and she meets our MMC Miles who also has a bad home life when they are 6 at school and they become best friends. Over the years their friendship grows into a romantic love and Miles is always trying to help and save Belle from her bad home life. Well Belle ends up leaving at 18 to go to college and this causes a rift between them for 10 years until they just so happen to run into each other at the restaurant he always vowed to open. The sparks and old feelings come back again but there is still so much history and pain from their past together. Will they figure it out and rekindle the love they once had as kids and teenagers? 👀👀😍😍 What a beautiful story!

Spice: 🌶️

A duel timeline, a second chance romance, angst, slow burn chemistry, friends-to strangers- back to friends- back to lovers dynamic, and throw in a meddling little sister and oh my word does Jingle Belle wrap up to be one amazing read! I seriously couldn’t put this book down! I loved Belle and Miles, the way they supported each other, the chemistry that sizzled between them, the banter that will have you laughing out loud, and the swoony romance that’ll leave you rooting for their happily ever after. There’s just so much to love about Jingle Belle I can’t possible list it all but I will say if you’re looking for a slow-burn, second chance romance, featuring amazing characters, fantastic banter, and just enough angst and tension to keep you turning pages than I can say that this book is definitely for you!

Ever feel the need to read a cute holiday romance fo get back into your reading groove, only to have that book break your heart with how real the characters and their breakup feel? Yeah, me too. This book is incredibly well written, though, so I forgive it for making me feel things. The "problem" with second chance romances is that it means the characters aren't currently together, and you really feel the weight of that fact in this book.

I have never read this author. I needed a book with Jingle in the title and one that started with J for two reading challenges. The book description sounded great and I decided to read it. So glad I did! It was a beautiful story told by the two main characters. It had all the feels with high school sweethearts, lost love, and Christmas bundled in one story. I will definitely be reading more by this author.

In a genre often criticized for being all fluff and no substance, the Christmas romance novel Jingle Belle stands apart by embracing a rich and emotionally complex narrative. I had the distinct honor of receiving an Advance Reader Copy (ARC) and am thrilled to share my thoughts on this moving and beautifully crafted story.
Author Laura Ashley Gallagher masterfully weaves together a wishlist of literary elements: deep trauma, enduring friendship, playful comedy, and just the right amount of spice. At the heart of the story are Belle and Miles, childhood best friends who navigate abusive and unstable households together. Their bond, formed in the furnace of hardship, is the book's true strength and its most compelling feature.
The story takes an all-too-familiar turn when their youthful dreams of a future together are shattered, forcing them apart. But as the cliché goes, the heart wants what it wants, and the plot rekindles their connection years later. The reunion of Belle and Miles is a testament to the idea of second chances, proving that some loves are not meant to be forgotten.
For readers seeking a romance that tingles with passion, Jingle Belle offers just enough spice to make you shiver. Beyond the heat, however, lies a deeper emotional current, making the story more interesting and memorable.
Ultimately, Jingle Belle is more than just a seasonal romance; it's a testament to the healing power of love and the enduring strength of the human spirit. It’s the perfect stocking stuffer for the hopeless romantics in your life.
This delightful and heartwarming book is available for purchase on November 6, 2025. Grab your copy and prepare for a beautiful holiday read.

Laura Ashley Gallagher never disappoints! The perfect holiday read. Seasonal without taking away from the story, which is engaging and heart wrenching. Miles and Belle have history. Friends to lovers as teenagers, both in tumultuous homes, they came together to be a support for one another. But one event changes everything! 10 years later in walks Belle to Miles' restaurant and sparks fly!

4.5 ☆'s

This one pulls on the heartstrings. Both outsiders, both with parents that didn't deserve the title. Together, they became best friends and then family. Until one made the decision to set the other free to find the chase the better life they both wanted.
Ten years later, and a chance encounter reunites them.
A heartbreaking but lovely second chance romance. About love and found family, chasing your dreams and being brave enough to try again.

Not what I expected (I thought she would go on 12 dates) but still very good.
I'm not usually a fan of second chance romance, but this was done well, in a believable way. The backstory and the way it ended first time were thought out and tragic, but it worked well for the reunion and developing the story from there.

I absolutely adore Laura Ashley Gallagher's writing style — she has this beautiful way of pulling you into the story from the very first page. You start reading, and before you know it, you’re completely lost in her world. Her stories are filled with emotion, heart, and characters you can’t help but fall in love with. 💕

Jingle Belle is one of those books that makes you feel — you’ll smile, laugh, and maybe even shed a few tears along the way. It’s the perfect mix of warmth, friendship, heartbreak, and second chances.

💫 Belle and Miles have been best friends since they were six years old. Growing up with alcoholic parents, they became each other’s safe place — two souls bound by shared pain and unconditional love. Miles, despite being just a teenager himself, stepped up to care for his much younger sister, becoming more of a father figure than a brother.

When Belle earns a full scholarship to NYU, it should be a moment of joy. But it’s Miles who makes the hardest decision — pushing her to follow her dreams, even if it means losing her. 💔

Fast forward ten years… Belle’s life hasn’t quite gone as planned. On a disastrous date, fate steps in and brings Miles back into her life. The chemistry, the connection — it’s all still there. But so is the hurt. Belle is still angry, still heartbroken, and unsure if she can forgive him for walking away.

Now, with Christmas magic in the air, they have one more chance to face the past and rediscover the love they never truly lost. 🎁

✨ This story is tender, emotional, and full of heart.
✨ The friendship-to-lovers journey is beautifully written.
✨ It’s a perfect holiday read that will leave you warm, teary-eyed, and smiling.

If you’re looking for a sweet, emotional second-chance Christmas romance, Jingle Belle deserves a spot on your TBR. It’s one of those stories that stays with you long after the last page. 💖

This is my second ARC read and my god I loved it! I’ve never read a Christmassy book before but this was perfect. I also LOVED the subtle nod to Celeste and Julian from “Meet Me In The Dark”. Miles and Belle are perfect together, the way fate brought them back together was everything. I loved the whole story, the way it was written, how it broke my heart and made me smile till my cheeks hurt. I’m so glad I stumbled across Laura Ashley Gallagher because her books are *chefs kiss*

This was chefs kiss, a great Christmas book! 👌🏼

Belles and Miles are best friends as kids and both have troubles at home which push them together more as teenagers and they start dating. Miles brings his little sister up because his parents are dead beats. Belles needs to get away from her abusive dad. So when they both get some cash together they move in together with Miles sister,Lilly as well. All was going how they planned and they were so happy to be able to be away from the shit show they called their lives until Belles received a letter that would change their lives completely.

Fast forward 10years and Belles is a journalist, spending every Christmas on her own, still heart broken about having to leave Miles & Lilly.
Belles friends hate that she won't go on dates and spends Christmas alone so when the Podcast they all listen to are doing a 12 dates of Christmas they enter Belles into going on one of the dates (this bit is hilarious 😂) She doesn't want to go but she thinks it'll make a great story for her column so she goes and from that the rest is history.
Walking into a restaurant with a particular name above the door, she couldn't believe what she was seeing........

I loved the flash back to Belles & Miles as kids/teenagers so you get to know what they went through to get to where they are now. The way Laura writes this as a short book but gets so much detail in is so good!
The Christmas present shopping was so cute too and I loved the way they both just fell back into that friendly banter with a side of flirting. Lucy also needs a mention because the way that girl was setting things up was hilarious and she just said things how it was .

If this book had been longer, I wouldn't be mad about it, I could have kept reading but everything was told in such a great way that the book wasn't rushed like some short books are.

Alsoooo this would make a great Christmas movie!
Get your blankets and hot choccys at the ready because you're not going to want to miss this book when it is released on the 6th November.

P.s.....Short snappy chapters 👌🏼👌🏼
Thank you so much Laura for letting me read this early. You never disappoint 🩷
